I went to a Yelp Elite event here, so the place was packed, yet the service and food were excellent. I ordered their ahi salad which was generous in size, had an assortment of very fresh veggies and fish, plus a tasty dressing served on the side. My husband had their Cobb salad which he said was the best one he had ever eaten, which is quite a compliment from him. He said the freshness and flavor of vegetables and the chicken made it a stand-out. Plus, both salads are very reasonably priced, around $10 and are served with their freshly baked ciabatta bread. The mango lemonade was also delicious and the freshly baked oatmeal cookies are not to be missed. This is my new favorite place for lunch. I can't wait to try some of the other items on their menu. read more

My daughter and I eat here almost every week when we do errands in the area. The food is consistently delicious and the service is exceptional. The ambiance is friendly and clean. We especially love the Keto Cobb Salad and the small portion of homemade bread. It's really special. The manager is wonderful - it warms my heart to see him interacting with his team. He is truly a mentor and a role model and I don't see that everywhere. read more

Very nice cafe. Awesome menu !!! Description of my meal was exactly as described in menu, which is always my expectation. Meal is prepared in a very reasonable amount of time. Cafe is very clean. Outdoor tables are available. My first time here. I recommend Urbane Cafe. read more

I was recently fortunate enough to be included in the celebration of Urbane Cafe's Healthcare Provider Appreciation Event. Our medical office received a personal invitation to order any entree of our choosing during their event! What a nice surprise! Our staff completed our orders via UC's online service, which is so simple to use and customize, BTW. All of our orders were ready at our requested time when we arrived to pick up. The G.M., Humberto and his friendly staff greeted us and assisted in identifying and packing our order. I chose the BBQ Salmon salad and it was fresh and delicious accompanied by the house foccaccia style bread and Chipotle dressing. Great menu selection and quick, friendly service. We'll be back again and thank you for extending the invite, Urbane Cafe! read more

The food is fresh and reasonably priced. The service is really good. Umberto is very professional, friendly and service oriented

If I could give them a 10 I would this place is awesome! The food was great the quality was awesome and service was fast and excellent! I order the Cobb salad and it was super fire. Chipotle ranch was my choice salad dressing and it was bomb little spice and had the ranch flavor as well! The focaccia bread was warm and so soft it was like a little cloud in my mouth. The chocolate chip cookie wow warm and delicious the best I've had! The lemonade is to die for any flavor the blueberry basil was of the hook. One of the guys that worked there gave me a sample and I was blown away! Restroom, dining and patio where all clean and smelled great! Staff was knowledgeable and polite. Over all will I come back yes I'm going to put this in my list of favorite places to eat! read more

Urbane Cafe - Cobb, cookie and mango lemonade. Please excuse the eaten salad I could not resist lol! - Sandwiches Near Me - Encinitas, California

Love this place. I could probably eat here everyday. The sandwiches, cookies, and lemonade is always delicious.

Right now if you're debating whether to try this place out or not, it worth a try! Was looking for something to split with my fiancée and we ordered the SoCal Chicken sandwich. The sandwich also comes with a side house salad. We asked them to split the meal and so we each got plate with half the sandwich and half the salad. The sandwich delicious and the salad complemented the meal nicely. For under $10 it was a great value for the quality we received. By no means would half fill me up but it was a nice meal to hold me over for a few hours. I look forward to coming back here in the future! read more

Great lunch today. The chef, Umberto, cares about his job and takes pride in his work. If you have any issues with quality or service, ask for him, and he will make it right. read more

Very yummy sandwiches and soups, the only thing I would ask them to improve would be the addition of wheat breads, the focaccia bread isn't the most healthy bread so adding multigrain breads to their offerings would be very nice read more

Great food. Fast service. Friendly staff. Clean environment. I'm afflicted ti the cilantro chicken salad !!!

After coming here for an event, I knew with how delicious their food is, that I just had to come back and have their food again. The menu here is super simple and delicious. I think that their sandwiches are what they are most well known for here. They've got a sandwich with turkey and brie which I will be my go to if I can't ever think of what to get or I don't want to venture out. The most recent visit here, I got the Chimichurri Tri-Tip which was delicious as well and also did not disappoint. I love how much chimichurri was on the sandwich. The place inside is nice and clean. The staff is friendly and all smiles. Having been in sales before, I love the extra add-ons that they ask if you'd like while at the register. Everyone here is always super happy and that's what I love able coming here.... delicious food and happy people. read more

I got the Santa Maria BBQ sandwich. It came with a salad (not too much to talk about there), which was nice. The sandwich itself was fantastic, great bread and ingredients, and a pretty good price. Very happy with the meal, but unfortunately they do not have a gluten-free sandwich option, so I can't return, but I recommend to everyone who doesn't have that issue! read more

Great food and people working there! I love Maria's BBQ chicken salad; it's delish! Salads and sandwiches always seem fresh. Nice for a change. read more

I ate here probably a week ago and from what I remember the food was good. I probably waited about 5 minutes for my food to be ready which was fine with me. This place is perfect for when you want to sit down but you don't want to wait long unlike most restaurants. I ate the sandwich and it was really good, I normally don't eat onions but I saw that it said they were pickled onions. If I didn't get the onions I think the sandwich wouldn't have been as good as it was, it brought just the right amount of flavor to the mix... It was not over powering at all. I would definitely be back too try some of there other items. read more

Tried this place for the first time tonight. What a disappointment! First things first, I asked for a menu that included the nutrition facts since I don't eat certain foods due to allergies, and the manager told me that I could "look it up online"..... first red flag.... it's 2018 isn't that required by now? My boyfriend ordered the So-Cal sandwich and I ordered the Rustic Rosemary sandwich to go. Our order was put in at 8:15pm and we didn't get our food until 8:37pm. A 22 minute wait usually wouldn't bother me, but at that time there were 4 employees who seemed to be on the clock and maybe a total of 5 other guest that had previously been served their food. The manager tried to remedy the long wait with some bonus cookies as an apology which would have worked BUT yet again there was another issue. We were given a Southwest sandwich instead of the So-Cal sandwich and a soggy Rosemary sandwich since it had been sitting there so long. The food, although pretty tasty, definitely isn't worth the time and money wasted there tonight. We will not be coming back. read more

What a great place to stop in and pick up lunch. Placed an order online for the Sante fe chicken, Banh Mi sandwiches and kids pizza. All served on focaccia bread. Absolutely delicious, I'd have to say mostly due to the bread, easy to chew sandwiches (you do have the option to substitute bread, but not sure why you'd want to). I did end up liking the Banh Mi sandwich better, and now I'm afraid I won't be able to eat one anywhere else. Both sandwiches were not soggy, not overdone with the toppings and it comes with a side salad or you can substitute fruit. The kids meal came with fruit which they forgot, so we did have to go back in to get. Luckily we weren't far and they didn't hesitate, apologized and gave us the fruit cup. I will be going back to try the other sandwiches when I am in the area. read more

Yep. The food here is definitely delicious, but if you're eating clean it's not the best option in the world. Sure, there's some salads on the menu, but they're hardly the healthy choice with ingredients like Applewood-smoked bacon, blackberry bbq sauce drizzle, and chipotle ranch dressing. You might as well just order a sandwich and make your visit here a cheat day. The bread is unbelievable and it's pretty clear when you walk in that Urbane is a well-oiled machine with a couple different locations across California. The only thing that was annoying was the fact that there Wifi wasn't up and running. I guess I just assumed any place with Cafe in the name I'd be able to get a bit of work done. Not a big deal though I was able to access Starbucks connection outside on the patio. I'll be back here pretty often I'd imagine. read more

I am a huge fan of Urbane Cafe! My co worker introduced me to this spot one day and I was really excited to have another good, fast, healthy place so close to where I live. I had actually stopped at the one in Temecula about a year ago and I loved it, I didn't realize this was the same place until recently. So happy the expanded to Encinitas! I have now ordered from them several times since my first visit and I feel confident in saying that this place is great! The staff is so friendly and helpful. I went last week and the cashier let me sample their Peet's cold brew which was delicious! I've catered from them a couple times for work and get great feedback every time, people always ask, "where is this place?" Their salads and fresh, tasty and big portions. Their homemade bread is so fluffy. My co worker has raced about their sandwiches as has my husband. This is the perfect lunch spot or quick take out if you're looking for something on the healthier side. read more

Excellent for salads and the like. Fresh ingredients and reasonable prices. Much better than Tender Greens

I've never had a bad meal here. Honestly. Why is the UC banh mi sandwich so delicious? It's my go-to because it's THAT good. I've had about 10 different menu items ranging from the enchilada soup to eating off my child's pizza. It truly is all so yummy. A huge part of that is that their focaccia bread is amazing. Prepared fresh in the restaurant. And the staff has always been friendly. I am not a fan of chain restaurants, but this is one I will continue to patronize. read more

Came here for lunch with a coworker and it was alright. I got the turkey club and it was just 'aiight'. The focaccia bread was really good though. They make it right there in front of you, which is fun to watch. Would I come here again? Sure, if I happen to be running errands and need a quick lunch. But I don't think I'd seek this place out cuz I was craving it or anything. read more

This was my second visit to an Urbane Cafe. The first visit was at the Temecula location and everything was perfect and a five star visit! This visit was at the Encinitas location and didn't quite live up to the experience I had in Temecula. When I walked in the two ladies working on the food both looked up and saw me but didn't acknowledge me at all. After about five minutes a man came out from the back and rushed up to greet me. He was extremely courteous and helpful. I assume he was the manager. He was very upbeat and energetic. It's a bummer that the two ladies working on the food didn't even so much as crack a smile my way, but this man made up for it. I had the Cafe salad. It was absolutely delicious! I love eating salad! I don't eat it necessarily because I'm looking for a healthy food option, although that's a benefit at times, but because I really just love salad! That being said this salad had a balsamic vinaigrette that was perfect mixed with chicken, avocado, pears , pecans and goat cheese! Everything was really fresh. The lettuce was crisp and the bread that came with it was to die for! I probably would have been happier about my visit if I didn't decide to use the restroom before leaving. There was literally mud all over the floor and no toilet seat covers or toilet paper. Super disappointing. Despite the restroom issue and lack of acknowledgement when I walked in, I really did enjoy my visit to Urbane Cafe. The food more than made up for those two things . I'll be back for sure. Next time I plan to try the Cobb salad. read more

My wife had told me how Urbane Cafe in Linda Vista was one of her office's favorite lunch spots; enough to drive there from downtown. So when we saw the sign go in at the Encinitas Ranch Town Center, she got excited. I wrote it off as just a sandwich place. I was wrong. In the last three weeks, I've eaten at Urbane six times; not out of desperation, but because it's so good. I've described it to neighbors as Panera but actually good. The So Cal sandwich is perfectly balanced, the turkey club is truly outstanding. The green chili is tasty but has structural issues due to slippery ingredients that cause most of the filling to fall out of the bread. Urbane's signature house made flat bread is great in all of the sandwiches. The service is super friendly, almost to a fault. During the first week my meal was checked on by employees about ten times, but that's to be expected during the opening. Urbane is my new, favorite New Encinitas lunch spot and comes highly recommended. read more

Great lunch spot if you are looking for a healthy option! Prices are reasonable and the food is tasty. I've tried a number of their sandwiches and I haven't been disappointed by any of them. They use a focaccia bread which is perfect. They also come with a nice side mixed greens salad with vinaigrette. I'd have to say they fill you up nicely. **They currently have a Banh Mi sandwich available for a limited time which I highly recommend trying! Wait time is not long at all at this location either. Big plus! _____ Thank you for being part of the Festival of Bright! read more

I love this place!!! New and awesome. Never too busy, but when it is the service is still quick and efficient. Their bread is homemade and I can't get enough. I never write reviews but our experience was so disappointing based on all the good yelp reviews I felt I had to. Maybe we came on a bad night and hopefully that's the case but we got 4 meals and they were all poor. I got the protein salad with tri tip and the meat was cubed and very cold, very cold! Like left overs in the fridge cold. My son got the kids grilled cheese that seemed like it had been cooked a while ago and then given to us. It wasn't hot at all and appeared to have been sitting out. My daughter got the kids pizza and the cheese was not fully melted and the crust seemed like it hadn't been cooked at all. My wife got chicken Cobb and asked for no tomato and it seemed like there was extra tomato on it. The chicken was also very cold. We ended up at McDonalds after since we were all still hungry. A lot of great reviews so either we had a bad night or something else happened. Hope your experience is better. read more

Candied bacon ... need I say more! I recommend that you try Urbane's Fall Harvest Caesar Salad before it goes away! Very generous portion of roasted turkey with candied bacon, roasted butternut squash, pumpkin seeds, parmesan cheese, housemade spiced croutons, seasonal greens served with pumpkin spiced Caesar dressing and focaccia bread. My husband, who generally doesn't care for sandwiches, really loved the Moroccan ~ roasted Harissa chicken, spicy Moroccan aioli, pickled heirloom carrots, red onion and cucumber mix, mozzarella cheese, cilantro and arugula. These guys have really figured out how to make an outstanding sandwich with interesting ingredients and the perfect size focaccia bread. The side salad which accompanies the sandwich is delish. Thoughtful offerings of sandwiches, salads, soup, cookies and craft sodas in a cool space...many healthy choices. We enjoyed the surroundings while on our date night. read more

We attended the Yelp Elite Week event here last night for dinner. The menu is an eyeful of healthy choices. We decided to go with the seasonal menu and choose the Mediterranean Grains salad, Fall Harvest Caesar Salad and the Kale sweet potato soup. The first salad (Mediterranean Grains) had mixed ancient grains, arugula, chicken, and a creamy dressing. The second salad (Fall Harvest Caesar) was even larger in size with sweet bacon bits, orange beet, pepitas seeds, and generous amounts of turkey breast pieces. The croutons are very unique, seasoned with fall spices. The Kale soup is hearty with vegetables and thick consistency. For beverages; there are many craft sodas on tap and bottled varieties such as ginger beer. With such large portions and fresh, healthy selections, we will definitely be back! read more

I would give this 5 stars, but my boyfriend would give it a 3, so 4 it is. I loved our sandwiches! We got the chimichurri steak sandwich and the tri tip sandwich to share and I loved them both. Fresh ingredients and both sandwiches were full of flavor. I loved the soft homemade bread, but my boyfriend really likes a crustier bread so he wasn't a fan. Also, they were handing out cookie samples while we waited for our food and oh my god was it good! I'd go back just for the cookies!! I'll definitely be back to try some other sandwiches on the menu. Wife and I ate here many times and enjoyed it. On our last order the messed up on a few things. We called and spoke to the a shift manager named Chad. He said next time we come back we could get 2 free sandwiches (what the messed up on the last go around). Wife went today and they stated chad was no longer there and they would not honor what he told us. Over 2 small sandwiches they have lost a customer who has been there a dozen times before. There was no empathy today and customer service was non existent. Not sure if there has been a management change but the service at this place has gone down hill in the past few months. Corporate reached out to me and made the situation better. I appreciate the fact that they care. read more
