Delicous food, friendly service, I highly reccomend it. Also, price is very reasonable.

I had the Ahi Tuna Sandwich and it came with a choice of a side salad, a fountain drink, and a cookie or a bag of chips. The Ahi Tuna Sandwich is amazing - basically a bahn mi made with focaccia!!! I can't usually have bahn mi sandwiches because the bread is often too hard for me to eat but when they said that it was made with their fresh oven-fired focaccia, I was instantly sold on what exactly to order! That aioli sauce has a deliciously spicy kick that is to die for! That salad was tart and sweet! The double chocolate cookie is soft, fresh, and warm! Their soda fountain choices are so unique compared to the usual Pepsi or Coke company offerings and I wish that everybody would carry these flavors! So good! read more

On this beautiful Sunday, I decided to stop by here w/ the fam and get a sum food ..been coming here since it's grand opening and never disappointed until now ! I'll make this short, I ordered the Salmon bowl and when it got to the table it was cold, so I brought it to one of the workers attention and I won't mention her name just out of respect for the individual but I will on a follow up review if I don't get a reply back. Back to the story so when I approached them and told them " the salmon is cold, she replied, " ok , I'll get another one warmed up instead of giving me a whole new bowl, so I replied with "NO, I want a whole new bowl just to make it right with the whole new "bowl". Anyway be cautious when you come here and I did not know they warm up their fish in the microwave well at least that's how she made it seem. Do not order any of those bowls until they get it right!!! But please do get the cookies read more

Yum! Came here for my first Yelp Elite event. Such an open and inviting place. The service was awesome and food was delicious. I tried the banh mi...the sriracha aioli was great and a lot of cilantro for me please! Also split the bbq chicken salad with a fellow yelper. Great dressing with a hint of heat. Their chocolate chip cookie was possibly the best of it all! So dang good, I need to go back to try the other cookie options. They have a station specifically for focaccia bread, baked fresh and they also roast their proteins on location. Fresh is key here! Will definitely bring the fam here. read more

I really like Urbane Cafe. I've been going since they opened. I like that the soups and sandwiches have real character. Their recipes are full of spices with some zing and unique flavor. The also have a good mix of outdoor and indoor seating. I am docking them one star however for an affliction that has become standard in the 21st century: Too loud music. In Urbane's case you can't escape it unless you take it home. It's definitely way too loud inside (unless you're dancing) but unfortunately you can barely find solace in their outdoor seating. Yep, there's outside speakers too. Even if it were music I liked, I would not enjoy it. I'm assuming I'm in the minority on this. Otherwise why would it have become ubiquitous for restaurants and many retail shops? The Grinch was right about one thing, "And then all the noise. All the noise, noise, noise, NOISE!" UPDATE: Though I appreciate the response from Caprice it really wasn't necessary. As I said I'm assuming (in fact I know) that I am in the minority on loud music in restaurants and retail shops. I have to assume that since it's become pervasive in this century. So please don't make changes because of one rant. Instead perhaps get a view from a number of your customers. Unfortunately, I think most would agree they like it. read more

Super yummy. I love chocolate chip cookies and turkey sandwiches . Service is very nice.

What a great place for a sandwich. I had the chicken sandwich with avocado & cheese which came warm on great bread with a delicious salad. Everyone serving was helpful & pleasant. The drink cups are large and they had fresh lemons! A good sized, fresh made sandwich that came with salad and a drink all for $13. I will be going back to the one closer to my house. I highly recommend this eatery. read more

I tried Urbane Cafe for the first time yesterday. I had the Mojo Chicken sandwich, which was listed on the Specials. It was fantastic! Also, the sandwiches are made with freshly baked foccacia bread, which was buttery and delicious. The salad dressing, a balsamic that came already tossed with the side salad was very fresh, the salad was not wilted at all. I was also happy to see that they have better fountain drinks than other places. They had a selection of higher end soft drinks (root beer, etc) and 3 different types of lemonade (original, mango and blueberry). Those were DELICIOUS. Prices were fair at around $8 for the sandwich and side salad. There is also outdoor sitting. read more

Thanks so much to Yelp and Urbane Cafe for having us in today! I know it made the lunch rush even more crazy but we much appreciated the hospitality you all showed us! I've never visited Urbane Cafe before, but it was DELISH! The traffic to stop by was terrible (thanks to lunch rush hour on the 5), but the food made it worth the drive. Too bad I had to be quick or else I would have enjoyed the party! I ordered a Gourmet Grilled Cheese and it was so good! I've never thought to put avocado on my grilled cheese, but it was a great addition! (I did get the salsa on the side because I wasn't sure I'd love it, but, sure enough it was an awesome combo!) The bread was scrum-didly-umptipus and I love that you can watch them make it right in front of you! Maybe I should have grabbed some extra for the hubby... I'll try and remember next time ;) If we are ever in the neighborhood I'd definitely stop in again! The warm cookies alone make the trip worth it! read more

One of my favorite lunch spots. Food is always good and comes quick. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.

Several coworkers and I ate food from here on June 18th and became very ill. Some were even hospitalized. I'm not sure how this food poisoning outbreak has been kept quiet. Many people got sick from here and this restaurant has not issued any sort of apology or explanation. I will never eat here or at any Urbane Cafe location again. read more

My company catered Urbane Cafe for our lunch. It was delicious! I had the Chimichurri Steak sandwich which was delicious. The portion was perfect. I was definitely more than satisfied. The marinade was tasty and juicy! I would definitely recommend. It also came with a side salad. I didn't know that was part of the order... I'm not really a salad guy, but I was yesterday. The order came in when requested, and there were no issues. We all loved it! Thank you so much! I will definitely recommend and order again. read more

Liked it but has the fast food vibe which I'm not a fan of. Ordered the Fiesta Bowl. Recommend for a quick and light bite. read more

It is easy to eat clean and delicious foods at Urbane Cafe. All of the food is prepared in a kitchen which is separated from the dining room only by glass. Guests watch the food being prepared with organic ingredients like spring greens, edamame, garbanzo beans and avocado. I am giving Urbane 5 stars because they have proven to operate in the top tier of the fast food universe. Everything that I have tasted is fresh and packed with flavor, and not diluted with fillers. Their salads, bursting with bright colors taste as good as they look. House-made, airy focaccia bread is a decadent indulgence and I cannot resist dipping it in their delicious dressings. I have tried the portabello sandwich and the ahi salad and both of them delivered intense flavors and left me satisfied but not weighted down. Don't get me wrong, not everything on the menu is healthy. One could easily order a bacon sandwich with a cookie, chips and soda trying to convince zirself that zie ate at a healthy restaurant. Urbane only offers healthy options, not healthy decisions and I encourage you to try one of their great salads. read more

Ordered through door dash and LOVED it! Ordering a salad and sandwich for dinner seemed so basic, but it was anything but. I had the cilantro torta, which was an incredibly flavorful and saucy sandwich. I'd order it again for sure. It wasn't too spicy, just deliciously flavorful and the chicken was tender. We also ordered the Santa Maria bbq chicken salad with extra chicken. First, probably didn't need the nectar chicken because they are really generous with the meat! Salad was chock full of goodies and we'd definitely order it again. Even the included side salad with the sandwich was nice (mandarin orange slices in it were a great touch). I can't believe we haven't been to this place before now! Will definitely be back. read more

If you haven't tried this Restaurant your missing a very pleasant environment & real good food! They make their own bread for their sandwiches! The ingredients are always "Fresh" I love the salad that come with the sandwiches! My favorite it the Santa Fe (chicken) sandwich dam good, I've only tried two others because I always come back to that one! Throw in a Chocolate, Chocolate Chip cookie and your good to go. Food was so good! First time at this location normally eat in Temecula, was down in the area so decided to grab a bite to eat. The manager on duty was super polite and nice the food was excellent and on point legit couldn't complain about a single thing! I love how spacious the dining room is. The food never seems to disappoint me I only get the cilantro chicken torta, I need to try something else but it's super good. Comes with a Smokey tomatillo sauce that just completes the whole meal. Flavor profile on point customer service on point I'd have to give it a 9/10 The only thing was, that they took down the lemonade an hour before closing but other then that everything was spectacular! read more

The food there is amazing, prepped very well and the customer service was great. When I was attended they were very respectful and answered all of my questions without any confusion. The cafe is a nice and comfortable place to eat or wait for your food. I respect the food preps and the lady who took my order out. Although one complaint I have is one of the workers made a remark underneath their breath and started laughing. Usually in a high quality cafe you'd expect employees to have a level of respect considering their job title and the amount they make working in the industry. read more

The Tuscan sandwich was pretty good! I was so hungry I took the first bite then the last without a photo. The bake their bread fresh so it was soft and tasty. All the roasted veggies were seasoned good. I also tried the half brownie and chocolate chip cookie which although was fresh with good ingredients became too sweet for my taste towards the end. I'm updating this cause I went a second time and the chicken in the Cuban sandwich tasted spoiled after 4 bites I gave up and tossed the whole sandwich. I left and won't be back here again! read more

We always search for that place to cure that craving and knock our socks off.. This was one of those. Craving a sandwich, looked up best sandwiches in San Diego.. and I was blown away. First of all.. Focaccia bread is my biggest weakness. They make if FRESH daily and their sandwiches are served on it with a salad on the side. I got one of their veggie sandwiches and added bacon. .. with a cookie on the side.. Another weakness of mine: cookies. ESPECIALLY WARM COOKIES!! They don't just offer it warm, it's forced warm because it's freshly made in house and sits on a hot plate waiting to be devoured Weakness number 3: lemonade, and different flavored lemonades. Sometimes I will make trips to these type places just for a refreshing lemonade thirst quench. They had original, mango, and an Arnold Palmer type, all sooooo good it was hard to decide. And weakness number 4: GOOD FREAKING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! I was so blown away by how I was treated in this establishment. I could tell that not just I mattered to them, but my food mattered to them. They really took pride in their product and I went up and thanked Luis, who ran this store, and happened to catch one of the owners and mentioned how impressed I was. Being treated well and feeling welcome is equally important to me as good food. One of those places I couldn't wait to review. They deserved it. read more

I first tired Urbane at the Yelp Festival of Bright and it was great!! Today I called in and picked up sandwiches for lunch and they again were amazing! We had the chicken pesto and the chimichurri steak. I think what makes these sandwiches so good is the freshly made focaccia bread. It's the perfect thickness for sandwiches and its fluffy and soft. They come with a delicious little house side salad too! Great quick grab and go lunch! Very impressed with this place and I cannot wait to return to try more menu items read more

I ate here for lunch today after spending a few hours studying at the Starbucks next door for a couple hours. I've heard a lot of good press about this place and decided to try it out. I ordered the Santa Maria BBQ Sandwich; They made an error and gave me the Santa Maria BBQ Salad. I ate the salad anyways because I was too hungry to wait for another sandwich to be made. It was DELICIOUS! The bacon really complimented the ingredients of the salad, the lettuce was fresh and crisp, and the chipotle ranch dressing was tangy, flavorful and provided a nice kick to all the ingredients. The bread on the side was hot and moist, and really didn't need any butter or oil to accompany it (much better than at Urban Plates). I also drank the pomegranate lemonade, which I found very delicious and refreshing. My lunch was pricey at $12.47, but it was worth it, and I am definitely going to be a regular costumer here :) read more

Urbane Cafe - Santa Maria BBQ Salad (ate the bread already) and Pomegranate Lemonade - Sandwiches Near Me - Encinitas, California

My family and I stopped in Urbane Cafe for lunch during a Yelp Elite week event. We have been to Urbane Cafe before (Temecula) and were very excited to see them come to Carlsbad. They are located next to the Barnes & Noble bookstore. Plenty of parking out front, though you have to brave crossing the road directly in front of the restaurant which can get quite busy sometimes, especially weekends this close to Christmas. They have excellent sandwiches with a wide variety of choices, and they have nearly as many salads too. There is a kids menu with a few options, even a cheese pizza. It would be nice if they had a grilled chicken option but there is turkey if you want to stick to the healthier side. They have a boat-load of drink options (sorry, no booze) from bottled beverages to "craft" sodas. Our kids love mixing the sodas to invent their own recipes. They really get into and compete with each other on who can make the tastiest creation. When ordering, you will get a buzzer. I do wish they had trays, however. I had to pick up four sandwiches from the counter and had only two hands...so bring help if you have a larger order. read more

What a great new place to eat in Encinitas. It is also Family Owned which I love! They started in Ventura which is a very cool town I feel similar to our beach towns here. Everyone was kind and helpful. You go in and it's very clean. They have a large menu on the wall with pricing and than menus to look at too by the registers. Healthier juice options, Peets cold coffee lattes, and water on the counter chilling. You place your order, get a buzzer and go find a table. When it buzzes you are set to go pick up your meals. They have the Craft Soda fountain as well as homemade lemonades. The Pomegranate was my favorite. They also have their version of a Arnold Palmer. As well as Sriacha! My favorite hot sauce. The Ahi salad was great, so fresh loaded with micro greens, radish, edamame, and some avocado with the best dressing. A tad spicy, if you know sushi you know the spicy mayo (secret sauce)? well, this is it. We also tried The Cafe Salad. Micro greens with avocado, pears, goat cheese and white meat chicken. Topped with pecans. Fantastic. It comes with a balsamic dressing. Very fresh and flavorful. The portions are nice too. Unless you are starving, you will have some to take home. Their foccicia bread that they serve with their salads is really soft. My son loved it. The manager was sweet, she told us about the Family and said she loved working for them and had for a very long time. They have a few in SD and LA which is cool. Slowly growing one at a time she says. Because the Family wanted to keep the Family feel and environment. I love that. Can't wait to try some of their soups. They did have a sweet potato and kale soup but it was a bit too spicy for my son. Chunks of sweet potato and kale not a smooth type soup. read more

What fabulous food! I loved all the flavors. Marcella served us our food with a smile she was a joy to be around. I got the Fall Harvest Caesar Salad which contains: Roasted turkey, candied bacon, roasted butternut squash, pumpkin seeds, parmesan cheese, housemade spiced croutons, seasonal greens served with pumpkin spiced Caesar dressing and focaccia bread. That Pumpkin Spiced Caesar dressing was phenomenal and my favorite part My husband got the Cilantro Chicken Torta which contains: Roasted cilantro chicken, smashed avocado, corn & black bean salsa, pepper jack cheese, pickled Fresno chili's, pickled onions, tomato, green leaf lettuce, chipotle aioli, with smokey tomatillo salsa on the side. The quantity of vegetables in the torta is astounding. We also got a lemon white chocolate cookie and an oatmeal raisin cookie which had amazing flavors and were even better because they're still warm. We will be back. read more

The food and service was amazing 10/10 experience. Very clean as well. Recommend for anyone that's in a mood for a good sandwich

Nice place for a $10-11 well done sandwich. Different variety of options that are tasty. I went with the bbq tri tip which I would recommend and get again. The bread they cook at the store and you can watch which is nice entertainment while waiting. I wouldn't eat there regularly as the costs would add up, but from time to time to grab something somewhat quick. The soup wasn't my favorite, so don't waste your time there.
