One word, OUTSTANDING!
We traveled from Nashville to Chattanooga to visit my wife's brother at UTC. A few days prior a friend of ours insisted we tried this place. I had some reservations suggesting it because we knew he was excited about our visit and knew he would have a fun day planned. But after reviewing Urban Stacks menu online I couldn't fight back the urge to speak up and THANK GOD I DID!!! To start with, arriving at this place is your typical newly renovated warehouse with all the architectural elements you may find; exposed wood, industrial metal, grey colors, with cool Edison bulbs and other industrial likings, I had high hopes from the start. We were greeted and seated promptly, maybe because it was Saturday around 1, but either way things were looking good. We were given a seasonal beer list and the bourbon list lived on the table. Myself, I opted for a locally crafted brew from Chattanooga Brewery called Urban Bourbon (aged in Corsair barrels, TASTY!), my wife had their Makers & Ginger (in house ginger syrup), and my brother in law had Bacon Manhattan (with Benton's Bacon, UH YES PLEASE!). Every drink at the table was delicious, expensive BUT tasty. Then came time for us to order; I ordered the Asian Q made with Wagyu beef, my wife and brother in law opted for the Gourmet Bacon Cheeseburger with a blue cheese spread and melted Gruyere cheese, my sister in law had their Farmhouse Salad, and my wife's brother had the Good Day, Sunshine burger. Every burger was simply outstanding. Wagyu beef takes the burger to a different level with a significant amount of yummy juices flowing from these burgers. On my wife's burger, the combo of blue cheese, gruyere cheese, and Bentons bacon was heavenly! I didn't get to sample the salad or the sunshine burger but given their expressions they were nearly speechless. Since none of their burgers come with sides (one downfall since the burger prices alone averaged 8-10 per burger). Add a side and your nearly up to a $15 plate just for a burger. And to that, YES we ordered a side. I had their onion rings, wifey had sweet potato fries, and everyone else had regular French fries. I don't know which was better, the sauce or the vessel used for the sauces. My onion rings came with a house made sauce which I won't even pretend to list it's mixture but it was yummy. And all else had the chipotle ketchup which was everything one could imagine; hearty, mildly sweet, smokey, with a lingering feeling of heat on the backend. Ketchup, yes, but kick ass, hell yes! After throwing in the towel and nearly licking my plate, I looked around and I was not alone in the idea of "would it be bad if I picked my plate up and licked it" thought! It was all that good! When presented the check, that's when I wanted to give it all back, LOL, JUST KIDDING! But seriously, it's not a cheap burger meal like you might think. But then again, everything is locally grown so that does come with a steep price tag. For me, my wife and our 16 month old daughter we shelled out nearly $60 after a tip. Much more then I bargained for but then again it was a special occasion visiting this city. Now, does this mean that if Nashville had a Urban Stack that I wouldn't go, of course not, I would be there nearly once a week!
So my parting comments after all this, COME TO NASHVILLE AND BRING SOME OF THOSE KICK ASS BEERS WITH YOU!
