Well, while the food is on point, they are killing it with the 90s throwback music. Atmosphere is low key and enjoyable. Service is fast and friendly. Homemade pickles are good. The burger list is extensive and the flavor profiles are very interesting. They have everything from a normal burger to lamb. Great staff. Everyone was on top of everything ... really good team here. Sometimes service is over the top good and you're kind of wowed by it. That was certainly the case with Urban Stack. I was only in Chattanooga for a day so I can't say it's the best burger in town (since I did not visit any other restaurants) but it has to be in the top 3. They have an absolutely impressive whiskey menu with quite a few rare finds of whiskey and Bourbon. Ordered a double burger with cheese and bacon and avocado... came out perfect on all accounts. This place is great. I like to go there when I feel like I want a hamburger but special one. I do not like traditional hamburgers but I love veggie burgers. I wish this place would have more vegan varieties. My favorite is one with mushrooms. And another special dish I tried there was fried chickpeas. We were in Chattanooga to elope and go to a concert at a venue close to Urban Stack, so we figured we'd give it a try! We were BLOWN AWAY! It was a beautiful day so we sat on the patio - our server was sweet, prompt, and attentive while also giving us our space to enjoy our food. We both got the fried green tomato burger with fries...it was just insane. Juicy and well-cooked, the house sauce for the fries was addictive and the local buns were KILLER. I'm still in love with this place. I had a wonderful Salad one day this weak. I'm also hooked now on their monthly chicken sandwich called the " Full Nelson ". I'm very sad though that after February I won't get it again until they choose to bring it back around. Everyone has to try this sandwich! But be aware that it is addicting. The staff at Urban Stack as very friendly, welcoming and patient. We were in a large party, including my daughter's volleyball team, and their families. Once seated at a very large table, our server quickly took drink orders and answered questions. Our drinks arrived quickly, and food orders were taken. Our food arrived quickly, and was enjoyed by all. Most had various burgers (their specialty), everything was very good, and cooked to order. *Bonus points for having a gluten free menu (I have Celiac). A really good experience all around. Living in Nashville, I don't have near enough of this place in my life. I once heard a rumor that Urban Stack was headed to Nashville, and I can only hope that one day those rumors (and my dreams) will come true. I've gotten a different burger almost every time I've eaten here. I have not been disappointed with any of them. Urban Stack offers a great variety of burgers, and they also have alternative meat options including chicken, turkey, and lamb. They have an extensive whiskey menu as well, if you are so inclined. The vibe is great. It's low lighting and intimate feeling, although the place is always bustling. There are also multiple patios with outdoor seating in case you're looking to enjoy your meal outside. Overall, I'm giving Urban Stack 5 stars because of their consistency. Food was awesome. We started with the pickled veggies and they ate a perfect combo of spicy and sweet.

After a number of recent visits to Chattanooga, Urban Stack has risen to the top of my preference list for dining. The restaurant seems busy and crowded every evening I've visited. But always available are seats at the bar in the rear room where the service has been friendly and helpful. They have interesting takes on the standard burger, with many interesting variations. My favorites to date are the Guacamole Cheeseburger and the Big Mike and the Big Cheese with bacon and Fiesta cheese. All the burgers are offered with the premium American Wagyu beef. I'm sure side-by-side one might taste the difference, but tasted between separate dinners I didn't notice a great disparity in taste or texture between the two. The one bothersome experience I've incurred on several occasions has to do with the taste of their lettuce greens. Twice I have not finished their salads because the fresh greens has had an off-taste (iodine???). So I have stopped ordering salads. Sticking now just with their burger, I return eagerly to Urban Stack on my visits to the city. read more

Urban Stack, in my opinion, used to be THE place to go to for gourmet burgers in Chattanooga. It seemed as though every time I went, each burger I had was delicious and perfectly done (not to mention the delicious pimento cheese dip). However, coming here after opening during the pandemic it seems as though when they decided to serve their burgers on paper plates, they also decided to change their quality level from fantastic to mediocre. I came here with my family and we had the cheese dip, the fried green tomato, Italian, and philly cheese steak burgers. The dip was off, not nearly as irresistible as it had been in past visit, and of the three burgers only one of them (the philly burger) even approached the previous level of quality I have expected of this establishment. I was very disappointed with the other two burgers, each missing it's respective sauce and just the usual "umpf" that comes with the burgers at Urban Stack. Boiled down, my experience here has shifted from consistently excellent to slightly above mediocre, and is a disappointing change to say the least. read more

The pickles on the hamburger are awesome and if you get the chance ask for extra pickles you will not be disappointed. "Dude. It's a burger." -- Supernatural: Season 8, Episode 1 Talk about needing to attend an Overeaters Anonymous meeting - OMG we ate...and ate...and ate. And did I mention that we ate??? I had walked past here on a business trip and had bookmarked it but had no idea when I would be back in Chattanooga. As we were driving back from a concert a friend found it by searching Yelp and when we walked in the door I realized it was the very place I had bookmarked had wanted to visit. We were tired and starving, and the wait was 45 minutes. We didn't really care as it smelled really good inside - we figured by the time we found some place else, we would be seated at USBL. The place is laid out in a couple of rooms - the first has some large booths thru the center and some smaller ones along the side walls. The second room has a bar with stools and then has some more booths and then a large table with stools. If there is more to the place, I never saw it. The bathrooms are pretty nice, large stalls, clean, and nice facilities. Once we were seated, we were placed at a very large booth in the center in the first room - there were only four of us. This allowed us plenty of space for us to order an insane amount of food... did I mention we ate a lot? We ordered some apps - the homemade pickle plate, the fried bologna sliders and the hot pimento cheese dip. I've never seen fried bologna on a menu, so it was a must! Having grown up in the South, this is a staple. The sliders were delightful! There were 4 - so we all got one. They had melted American cheese on them and a side of Dijonnaise. I kind of wish there were more than 4 of them. The cheese dip was also amazing - the gooey goodness was highly addictive and I couldn't stop attacking it. I started dipping the pickles in it, but it came with some delightful potato chips that were also awesome. The pickles were good, but I preferred them dipped in the pimento cheese instead of on their own. As for my burger, I opted for the Mushroom Melt with my side being the Mac and cheese. I loved the major mushroominess of my burger - YES, I invented a word, but you get my drift. Lots and lots of mushrooms. I had a mound of mushrooms on my burger, all sautéed and chopped on top and under the provolone cheese. There was a house sauce, oven-dried tomatoes and and a marsala reduction sauce. All together it was like a trip to France with all those flavors - it was delightful. The mac and cheese was pretty good, but nothing outside the ordinary. Someone else got the Gouda creamed corn, which was much more exciting than my mac & cheese. I did decide (because I am crazy and thought I could ingest the entire menu) to order a milkshake - Orange Creamsicle (virgin). It was awesome, but I could only drink half so I took the rest with us. How I ate all that food - no idea... well, because it was delicious! I'm pretty spoiled with the burgers in Atlanta, but for being on a road trip and craving a burger - this was excellent! read more

I may have pigged out a bit while eating at Urban Stack Burger Lounge. I just couldn't help myself. There were so many things on the menu that I wanted to try. We stopped in for dinner on our way back to Atlanta. We ended up having to wait about 30 minutes. Not too bad for prime time on Saturday night. While we were waiting, we realized that they are in the same group as Milk & Honey - the place we stopped to grab breakfast earlier in the day. Milk & Honey is great! Pure coincidence. They sat us in one of the huge booths lining the middle of the dining room. My eyes were definitely way bigger than my belly when I was trying to decide what to eat. We started off with the fried bologna sliders, hot pimento cheese dip, and the house made pickle plate. The fried bologna sliders were amazing. Yes, I ate bologna. Sometimes, I get this crazy hankering for some fried bologna with ooey gooey melty cheese. These sliders hit the spot. They had the ooey gooey melty cheese (American) with a side of dijonnaise. I slathered on the dijonnaise and it was perfection. The pimento cheese dip was equally as addictive. They serve the dip with potato chips, although we slathered the dip on anything we could - fries, pickles. The house made pickles were actually I really, really wanted to try the Big Mike. This is USBL's take on the Big Mac. Unfortunately, it comes with two 1/3 pound patties. After ordering all of that stuff to start off with, I thought that I would probably explode and not be able to eat much of it so I ended up ordering the Big Cheese. This is your basic burger with choice of cheese. I went with the cheddar. The burger was probably my least favorite item that I ate. It might be because I went with the basic burger instead of some fancy special one. But, I do feel that a burger place should have great burgers even if you get the most basic burger on the menu. Overall, I really enjoyed eating here. I'd like to come back the next time I'm in town and try a different burger (maybe the Big Mike) and see if it fares any better. read more

I came to Urban Stack with Ms Stephanie T (Yelp Chattanooga herself!) for a bite to eat after a long afternoon of event errands. Actually - let's be honest - a bite to eat is an understatement. We feasted, thanks to Steph, who knew exactly what kind of Southern sides this native New Englander was craving! We opted out of the burgers and instead shared some glorious bacon-jalapeno pimento cheese dip, housemade pickles and pickled veggies, plus a delectable fried chicken sandwich for me and a lovely looking farmhouse salad brimming with veggies for Stephanie. To top it all off, we split a carafe of absurdly refreshing bourbon spiked orange mint tea. So incredibly necessary on a 90 degree day. It's also worth noting that everything is made in house including the dressings (strawberry balsamic, roasted red pepper vinaigrette, sweet Vidalia onion, etc). Solid bar and restaurant. I have been here twice with a decent sized group and both times were great service. The first time we were at the bar for drinks (stopped in while on a pints and pedals ride) and the second we dined on the patio. The interior is very warm and cozy, with dim lighting and rich wood tones. The patio is fantastic during nice weather. Drinks are good, I've only had a beer and a bloody mary. Food was excellent... I had the fried green tomato burger and fries on the side. The burger was cooked perfectly and very flavorful. The fries were tasty. My four star review instead of five is a reflection of the price. If I am paing $10 for a burger in a town such as Chattanooga, it should come with a side, not cost extra or at least not $3-$5 extra.
