A unique mini golf experience at urban putt. Most of the holes don't make it feel like mini golfing more like games with a golf ball, but it is a fun idea. They have other small games on the side as will as a bar and TVs if you want to catch any games. Staff was great. Talked to the bartenders and they also gave us a fifa bucket that was part of a promotion they were doing for the World Cup. Didn't get any food but we got drinks before making our way to the course. You can do either 9 or 18 holes. Not sure what the price difference would be but we did the 18 holes which was worth it.
This place was a fun getaway for a couple of hours. There's a full service bar here with a super cool bartender. Grab a drink a play a round. It takes about an hour. Not a huge place. And we went on a day that was kind of busy so we started at hole 9 I think. Then came back around. Some holes are more challenging than others. Overall a very unique set up with some fun themes. Definitely worth a try! There is a private area upstairs for event that can be rented out for those looking for something different.
We came here on a Saturday evening and the venue was moderately crowded. We signed up to play mini golf. We did have to wait for other groups to play in the course before it was our turn but we eventually got to try all of them. I liked how there were many mini golf courses related to the theme of San Jose, where the venue is located. The courses were picturesque too, despite how lowly lit the venue was. When playing, you can hear pop music in the background and other groups chatting. The food smelled good, but we decided to eat elsewhere. Overall, Urban Putt is a great mini golf course and I would return!
This was my first time going to urban putt. I booked a reservation online for 7:30 pm. I would definitely recommend reservations since there could be a lot of people depending on the day and time of day. We didn't try the food, but we did get the drinks! You're able to keep a tab open and bring drinks with you. Drinks are pretty decent. Nothing too crazy. The course was super fun! I really enjoyed how creative each hole is. There weren't much people when we first arrived, but there were more people as the night went on. The vibes were really great all around! Upstairs were a few arcade games and photobooth. You can also sit upstairs and hang out. Overall, we had a lovely time at urban putt and would def come back!

The only confusing part was figuring out where the front vs. back nine started. The staff wasn't very clear or friendly about explaining how to begin, and the bar service was just okay. Clearer guidance would really help first-timers. It was also pretty crowded, and even with a reservation we had to wait behind a few larger groups. My only other critique: they need more places to set drinks down at certain holes. Overall though, it's a fun and unique experience, and I'd definitely come back!
A fairly new indoor mini golf spot in downtown San Jose. Fairly new because I believe they opened sometime last year just never got a chance to go until recently. Urban putt is 2 floors. Bottom floor has the mini golf and bar. Top floor was the arcade and I'm not sure what else they had because I didn't go up there, I just saw the signs showing what was on the second floor. Urban Putt has 18 unique holes from a crashed UFO to the Shoreline Ampitheater! Loved the theme for each of the holes. They were so cool and I have to say that the Winchester Mystery House was one of my favorites! Definitely was "spooky." Tried their drinks and thought they were ok. Didn't try their foods. Urban Putt is a cool indoor mini golfing spot to check out.

The mini golf was very freestyle. Multiple parties are playing at the same time. There's an order you can follow or ignore lol. Each round has different obstacles and activities to do for the holes. And the best part, you can bring your drink along since they have areas where you can place them down or you hold up, up to you. The entire course is black light lit so the neon colored glow in the dark mini golf made it so much more fun! There's also free WiFi. What was ordered: - 10th Street Penicillin (good) - 18 Holes Course Yay/Nay/Meh: Yay. I think this is such a fun concept. It's too bad there isn't something like this in our area. We also ordered pizza that was okay, nothing too special but our waiter was very helpful with the service overall. We played two rounds of their mini golf. We had a lot of fun. It was simple yet fun. I loved the designs on the interior and found it pretty fascinating how well designed everything else. I'll definitely be coming back :)!

Pretty fun! Wished the staff would've spaced out folks' start times as the folks behind us kept crowding and hovering as we'd try to finish our putting. Some of the trick shot holes don't actually line up the way they should. Loved the San Jose themed holes! It was very fun! My wife and I came to Urban Putt in Downtown San Jose for a date night, and it ended up being a great experience. This was actually our second visit. The first time we came during opening week, we didn't realize reservations were required and weren't able to play. This time, we made a reservation in advance and everything went smoothly. We arrived for our 6 PM reservation and were greeted by the host right away. While we waited, we grabbed a couple of drinks to kick off the night, which definitely added to the overall vibe. The atmosphere is lively but still relaxed--perfect for a fun and casual date night. Overall, it was a friendly environment with a great ambiance. Definitely recommend making a reservation ahead of time if you're planning to come, especially during busy hours. We'll definitely be back! read more

Two of us went to check it out as a possible venue for a MBA Grad gathering in June. WHAT A BLAST! I wasn't sure what to expect but had seen some fun reviews on Yelp so we popped down on a Wednesday night. The 'mini golf' holes were so imaginative and no expense spared on the decor, design and fabulous variety of Silicon Valley style 'holes'. I recommend you read the signs along with way with the history if you are so inclined. Had fun chatting with other 'golfers' along the way as it's very interactive. The food was very good (loved the chicken schwarma & smash burger) and full bar with great options on tap and good wines. Highly recommend it as a family outing, date night or even a corporate gathering as there is a large loft area upstairs with more games. Add Bonus - Urban Putt is right across the street from San Antonio Light Rail stop so no parking downtown needed if you prefer VTA. read more
This place is modern and is great for a date night or for groups. However, this place can definitely get busy. I recommend only doing 9 holes if it's packed, unless you don't mind waiting. The interior is modern and open. The course itself was San Jose themed and was unique which I thought was pretty cool. The drinks here are definitely are the stronger side, but they were enjoyable. I ended up leaving early and only finishing only half of the course because we would have to wait a while at every single hole for the next group to be done. The staff was nice enough to charge us only for 9 holes after since they knew it was busy at that time. Food was decent. read more

Was so pleasantly surprised at Urban Putt. We stopped in on a Friday after work and it wasn't packed at all (def filled up quickly). The food was unexpectedly fantastic. Great menu with reasonable prices. We didn't play mini golf but will def be back because the ambiance was too cool to skip out on. read more
The mini golf here was really fun because each hole felt like a new game--it kept things exciting as we moved along, wondering what the next one would be like. The food was served warm, and the chicken and waffles were surprisingly spicy! We went on a Sunday evening and didn't have to wait at all. We went on a double date night at Urban Putt this evening. We started our time by ordering some drinks. I got the Tropic Thunder. It was super citrusy and refreshing. For our mini golfing, we opted for 18 holes. All of the holes were pretty cool. We could tell a good budget went into it. Each hole was unique and had its own pizzazz. For $20, I feel like you get your moneys worth. The only downside was the parking situation. We didn't scout the parking beforehand so ended up paying $26 down the street. Overall, it's a fun date spot and I recommend it if you're ever in the area! read more

I had a lot of fun playing at Urban Putt. I like how the courses are more interactive and varied. This is a good 1-1.5 hour activity for date night or with friends, I would recommend. I really enjoyed how the courses are San Jose / Bay Area themed. read more

My son was looking for a birthday party venue and discovered Urban Putt San Jose online. Having a February birthday usually means you have to deal with unpredictable weather, so we were excited to have an indoor spot where he could eat and play with his friends without the worry of getting wet! We were super excited to check out Urban Putt one night to see if it would be a good place to host our party. We stopped in on a Saturday night and the place was bustling. Always a good sign! It was fun to see the golf area lit up with glow in the dark and other fun features, and to see there was ample seating both downstairs and upstairs. We spoke to the hostess at the door who couldn't take our reservation on the spot but encouraged us to book it online for our party - very easy with Open Table. Note that Urban Putt doesn't have true "birthday party" packages - you just reserve a table to eat, and then you can play golf before or afterwards. I guess technically you don't even need to book a table to eat, you can just show up and golf, but we wanted to make sure our guests (kids!) had full bellies and were happy, not hangry, party-goers, so we booked tables for our group to eat before we golfed. We opted for a noon timeslot to hopefully avoid some crowds. Not to mention these were kids, and the place becomes adults only after 8 PM due to the alcohol on premises. We arrived when it opened on a Saturday and our table was reserved for us. The menu was very ample - we opted for pizzas to be split amongst our group. They were so delicious with a great crust! Highly recommend the "Lotta" pizza! Thanks to our server Jasper for the recommendation! We ordered 3 pizzas for 9 of us which was more than enough. We also ordered a couple of appetizers to share. Note that they don't have pitchers of sodas, so you have to order the drinks individually. One caveat: You do have to pay a fee if you bring in outside food (including a cake/cupcakes), so please be aware of that to avoid any unwelcome surprises! Golfing afterwards was super fun! You pay separately for the golfing and the food. A larger party of kids had just arrived before us when we had finished eating and were getting ready to golf (of course!), but the workers in the golf area were super accommodating and put us on the second half of the course first! We loved how there were "themed" holes, and they weren't normal holes - they had other features like pneumatic tubes, plinko machines, etc., many with a glow-in-the-dark feature. And there were cool "local" destinations featured, like. the Winchester Mystery House, Downtown San Jose, etc. The place can get a little crampy though with limited space, so it's best suited for a party of about 4 golfers at a time (We had 7 golfers and it got a bit tight around each hole, but they were kids and didn't seem to mind.) Parking was also easy. There was a Park SJ garage very nearby which gives the first 90 minutes free (then $1 for each 15 minutes afterwards), so we ended up paying $7 for a little over 3 hours at the venue. Overall it was a great experience and service was also top notch! Shout out to Jasper, our waiter, and Isaac (and his co-worker, I didn't catch his name) in the golf area - they were fantastic! Highly recommend coming here, either for a kids' party, or with adult friends for a fun night out! We look forward to visiting again soon! read more
This place was so cool and unique. We started off first by eating. My fiancé and I shared chicken and waffles plus side of nacho tater tots. Everything was delicious! The waffle nicely cooked and same with the chicken inside. That taters were also nice and crispy with excellent toppings of meat, cheese, jalapeños and guacamole. I saw a lot of reviews about being crowded. It really depends on time. We got there right at opening and it didn't start to pick up until hit close to 1pm. It still wasn't that bad. We did around if 18 holes which was both sides. I would say this the most unique mini golf I been too and very interactive. I don't want to give too much away but some of the floors move, some is like video game and some is more hands on. Definitely fun date night. I would say amazing for double dates which what we did because a lot of the group games are for 4 players. read more

Fun Concept, but Needs Some Work Urban Putt in San Jose has a cool and unique mini-golf setup that definitely stands out from your typical putt-putt experience. The course is creative and well-designed, making for a fun outing with friends. That being said, the service was slow--like, I could've played an extra nine holes before getting my drink. Speaking of drinks, they were overpriced and pretty basic, with the only standout feature being the fancy little smoke bubbles they put on top. A nice touch, but not enough to justify the cost. Also, the bar itself was sticky and clearly hadn't been wiped down in a while, which wasn't exactly appetizing. Overall, it's a fun place to try at least once, but the service and cleanliness need improvement. If Urban Putt put as much effort into the bar as they did the putting course, it would be a hole-in-one. Instead, it's more like a double bogey. read more
Fun spot for a date night or a pregame for the bars! The full mini golf course is $20/pp and the holes are very creative. I love how some of the holes are more interactive, not like a typical mini golf course. They also include some Bay Area landmarks which was really cool. Great spot in San Jose to hang out with friends! Came by on a Friday night, waited around 30 min after waitlisting with a group of 4 (definitely get here earlier if you have a larger group). We enjoyed the bar while waiting and I was pleasantly surprised that the drinks were pretty good, and the food was also decent! Overall good mini golf experience, lots of South Bay references especially if you're a native (shoreline, Winchester, tech, sharks, etc) based on other reviews, maybe they have improved and fixed some of the machines, so we had a good time. Service was friendly and it wasn't too crowded. At around $18-20 per 18 holes it's pretty value, and preferable for me over golfland etc read more

On average, how long does a game of 18 holes take for 3 people?
You can play 9 holes at a time - 'back 9' first if it's less crowded - and take a break between 9 and 10 for a drink or bite of food. It's quite casual. I think 45 minutes for each 9 holes is plenty of time for planning.
