I came in here on a whim on 408 SJ Day! I was able to meet the owner, he was unbelievably friendly and accommodating. This place opened up 4 months ago and I couldn't believe how inviting the place is. The ambience is very pleasant and homey. I liked how appreciative he was of us stopping by. He even let us sample our drinks prior to choosing. I got a semi dessert wine which was super yummy. If you're ever in the area I recommend stopping by. I also got the pork belly musubi, which was fire!! Can't wait to come back. :)

Really nice environment, and friendly staff. They had live music when I went. Drinks were solid but honestly I'm excited to try the alleged Christmas menu I've seen online. They had some food options but weren't my thing. Will be going back during the holidays

A new bar in downtown San Jose. A great list of rotating, seasonal cocktails and excellent decor. Definitely will be coming back!

We came here during the soft opening and loved the vibes! They currently have a Sippin' Santa Pop Up with their fun, tiki bar drink. There was a good mix of music playing, which was great for a Friday night. For drinks, I got the pineapple upside down cask, which reminded me of a Mai Tai drink from Hawaii. For the group, we got the punch bowl drink to share, and it was delicious as well. All the mugs that the drinks came in were super cute, and they are also available for purchase. The silent "nightcap" was also really good, but it does contain espresso. You also get to take home the souvenir cup, which is perfect for the holidays. The servers and bartenders were all very nice and attentive. Our glasses were frequently refilled with water, with the occasional question of whether we needed another drink. The theme of the bar will be rotated with the seasons, so now is a good time to check out the holiday offerings. We'll be back soon!

Opening day 11/28/2025. They are located in the old Agenda Lounge location on the second floor above Petiscos. They are hosting the Sippin' Santa popup menu. Here's what I sampled: 4.7/5: Holiday on Ice: very boozy coffee cocktail. You can get it with vodka or bourbon. Go with Bourbon. 4.6: Sippin' Santa cocktail: Amaro and rum. It's naturally sparkly. 4.6: Jingle Bird. Very good variation on the Jungle Bird. Amped up with allspice and cranberry. 4.0: Sugar Plum Mai Tai. OK rum drink but not enough character or funk.

Super bowl weekend was pretty busy but we stumbled upon this place and decided to give it a try. I had heard that they had a Christmas take over but we didn't get a chance to make it. They had some super bowl specials that were pretty good. I got pinapple one that I enjoyed. Service was great, we would definitely come back for a quick drink. They also have music to late night.

Tucked upstairs and off the beaten path next to the Ritz venue, this brand-new cocktail bar feels like a secret you're lucky enough to be in on. From the moment you step inside, there's a buzz equal parts intimate, electric, and effortlessly cool. Courage Anyone isn't just about the drinks. The space is built for vibes. Live music nights bring the room to life, karaoke turns strangers into instant friends, and the layout is perfect for private events that actually feel special, not cookie-cutter.

This cocktail bar was the perfect bar to start the night. The vibes were great, customer service was excellent, and the entire place was heavily decorated for the holidays. I came here with a large group of people and hung around a booth. However, some of us were standing, which we were totally okay with. A staff then voluntarily pulled a table and chairs for us so that everyone can sit together. This was a very nice gesture and we truly appreciated it! As for the drinks, I ordered the Frost Bite - which was one of their very few holiday drinks that was not rum. Their holiday drinks are so cute and come with their own unique cup. The Frost Bite was a tequila cocktail with sweet and fruity flavor. I'm glad that the place wasn't crowded at all, but still had enough people + a DJ to keep the night alive!

The newest bar in downtown San Jose! I found this place and yelp and knew I had to check it out for the holidays. It was perfectly decorated with lights. The atmosphere was similar to 55 South (also similar holiday drinks), but with so much more space. Definitely recommending adding this to your holiday bar crawl!

Super cute new Asian spot in DTSJ! Loved the ambiance in here and I can totally imagine this place getting real packed in this new year. They only recently opened at the end of 2025 so we're looking forward to coming back to see all the new additions to their menu. Booths are spacious and their stage for live music is set to debut tonight (2/3/2026) per Kenton, who was super gracious and informative. There's also a karaoke room in the corner we'd love to check out in the near future!

Atmospheric and vibey new lounge downtown! First time visiting and hope to return soon. Great drinks, super friendly + helpful staff, and excellent decor!

Ambience is amazing, played great hits, even some are nostalgic. The drinks are great and I heard it's a rotating menu so it keeps you coming back. Unfortunately I already had a heavy dinner but the bites look delicious. Service was also great and drinks came out quick! Definitely try this place out!

If you're someone who appreciates a drink with a story behind it, you'll be in your element here. The live DJ on weekends takes the whole experience to another level. The music isn't background noise -- it's part of the atmosphere, and it hits right. What makes this place truly special is that you're getting two completely different vibes under one roof. Walk into Still OG up front and you get a casual, laid-back energy -- easy conversation, good company, no pretension. Then slip into the speakeasy in the back and the whole mood shifts. Alter Ego is a proper intimate lounge with their full bar, and it feels like a world away from the street outside. The transition between the two spaces is surprisingly seamless and genuinely fun to experience. And they're open late, which puts them in a rare category of places actually worth staying out for. Can still remember the gourmet dogs and duck fat fries back in the days... Awesome what they did to the place. The new set up with the dim lights and neon menu is noice. Ended up chilling at the front bar. Definitely will return to explore the back at a later time. Food: A We got to sample a variety of goodies and drinks from the menu, which definitely hit the spot. The skewers were cooked just right with a kiss of smoke from the grill. The takoyaki were good as expected--yum. We ended the excursion with the milk bread; it was surely a crowd-pleaser. It was fluffy goodness, topped with furikake, and served with a side of decadent house butter. Drinks were perfectly crafted and refreshing. Service: A We were chilling at the bar and got to hang with staff. Cool folks, will be back. - John

Not my personal cup of tea, but they do also offer sake and a few beers also. The first time we went, we ordered the arancini, bucatini, and the heritage pork katsu. I am a big advocate for trying new things every time I go to a restaurant, but it was so good I ordered the same thing the second time I went. Arancini is flavored with Japanese curry with creamy fontina in the center topped off with kimchi mayo. Holy f. These quite literally put the traditional Italian ones to shame (sorry not sorry). Next was the bucatini. It had tom yum butter, lime, basil- all the fix ins of what you want from tom yum flavors with the luxuriousness added from the butter. It was sinful. Last and certainly not least, is the pork katsu. I cannot even remember the last time I ordered a pork katsu, but something told me to order it. Thank God I did, as it quite literally changed my life. If they ever take it off the menu I am not sure I would be OK. It is crispy and is swimming in this koji butter, but the key is that it is NOT greasy. I quite literally think about it all the time. To the point where I had it twice in a week. Service was great, bartenders are so friendly. The place is cute and vibrant. Keep in mind it is small- limited seating inside and a small patio outside. But so worth the wait. First the knock, and to be fair, it's probably just an opinion / idea. Given the birth of natural wine and the South Bay, it would be wonderful to see a curated selection of tasting flights, no more than two or three options with anywhere from 3 to 6 wine wines each, priced accordingly. Maintaining a proper wine menu when all you do is natural wine can certainly be a challenge. If you wine flights depending on what you have would certainly elevate the customer experience by educating more people natural wine and helping them make better choices when it comes to a bottle purchase. I paid $61 for a bottle that was recommended, and at that price point I wonder how many people who are new to natural wine might be turned off. Chris was a wonderful host and certainly the right person to engage with customers around their various wines. Given how small the space is and how busy it can get, a weekly tasting flight menu might be a good way to engage those customers who are waiting to order at the bar and perhaps even spark a more productive conversation with Chris. We ordered the peach and ricotta dish with Thai basil... wow, a wonderful surprise. Peaches are always battling in and out of the top spot on my summer fruit list and this combination was downright dirty and delicious! We also ordered the raw oysters with watermelon mignonette. Another wow! I didn't expect the little spice kick and it was a perfect pairing to the sweetness of the watermelon. If anyone knows the recipe let me know, I'd bottle that mignonette and take it with me wherever I have oysters!! Overall, a great experience and I most definitely look forward to going back!
