Super cute spot inside (as you can probably tell from the pictures). It was a little loud, but that's not really out of the ordinary for a bar. We went on an early Thursday night and it was actually pretty quiet/not crowded, which I appreciated. Made it easy to hang out and chat without feeling rushed. The cocktail menu is fairly basic, but the drinks themselves were good, so no real complaints there. Nothing super inventive, but solid. It's the best vibes here and I love this place. If you want an intimate and not too loud experience with dark and sexy lighting inside, this is your place. I came on a Saturday and whatever dj that brought the late 90s/2000s vibes, keep him in rotation! The bar is beautiful and I love all the different bottles of tequila. This is perfect spot for date night if you don't want to go out dancing but want to have conversation with good music or just hanging out with friends and catching up. The hostess is very nice and always smiling. All staff here are very nice and seem happy to work there. I wish they had Bailey's because I love creamy carajillos with just a small touch of Baileys but their caraillo is decent and hits the spot. I also came here for the grand opening and they had a very simple drink menu so I would love to see new or seasonal cocktails, and craft cocktails added here in the future, but I know, baby steps as this place is brand new. The service here is good and the workers were friendly. The interior was nice, beautiful and spacious. There is some street parking and a parking structure nearby. I liked how I was still able to hear my friends even though music was playing. They did not sell food here and only sold drinks. The drinks were decently priced and didn't taste too strong. My favorite drink was the El Diablo because you can taste the alcohol less in that one. Definitely a chill spot, that I would come back to again. read more

Came with a group of friends on their soft opening and all the staff were all very welcoming! We were able to get booth seating as there weren't that many people in the space. It seems like not many people know about this place and it is tucked in a street that can be easily missed but it is definitely a gem! My friends all got different drinks and all drinks were pretty good and pretty affordable. Most drinks was $13! Its also a five minute walk from the famous San Pedro Square too! read more

I was going to give this place another try this weekend with some friends and bf, until this message came though. By the name of James I believe they are the owner or worker for Selva. They messaged me apologizing for my first impression experience and wanted me to give them a chance by texting to someone so he can host me and whoever I bring. So I decided to look through the persons profile and not only did he left one review a month ago but they also left another one about 35 mins ago! The photo they uploaded has nobody but the workers in there. So this must be the owner. If you are wanting to gain crowds, maintain a good rating. Do not go in and start making random reviews just to boost your ratings and maintaining it at a 4.0 or higher, also do not make your employees make reviews just to maintain a high star ratings. If you wanted to make it right. You should've messaged me alone and maybe things would've been different. I am very disappointed because I was going to give this establishment another chance. But I will not go here anymore at all, I'll let everyone know about my experience along with how the owner and workers are interested in high ratings this bringing new customers. read more

This place is located a couple of blocks away from other bars/restaurants and was not crowded when we came by on a Thursday night. They're a new spot that's still in their soft opening phase, so seems like not many people know about them yet. Upon entering, there is a little bridge and waterfall, along with some foliage and little twinkling lights on the ceiling to give you the impression that you're in the jungle under the stars. Their shelf of liquor looked beautiful and impressive. The lighting is kept very dim and the music is not too loud, which makes it an ideal place for a date or catching up with friends. The prices of their cocktails seem very reasonable as most were $13 or $15. Although, their menu is very limited. Also, no food menu. My group got the Margarita, Carajillo, Cosmopolita, and El Diablo. I liked my friends' drinks, but was not a fan of mine (Carajillo). Overall, it's a cute spot and welcoming addition to DTSJ. read more

This place is gorgeous! We stopped by last Friday night and it's even better than Instagram. It's a little bit smaller than I had envisioned. We were able to stand by the service well at the bar and grab drinks. But boy was I surprised when I asked for a tequila list and they only had a bottle service list. It sounds like it may be coming, but it's pretty hard to properly order a sipping tequila without one. I also noticed the tequila brands aren't the usual ones, but I was mostly impressed with the more off brand versions. read more

I stopped by this new Miami/Mexico-style tequila bar in San Jose and it's honestly one of the most fresh spots I've seen open in the area in a long time. The concept alone makes it stand out -- it blends a Miami dinner party vibe with a Mexican tequila bar atmosphere, and it actually works really well. One of the coolest details is the ceiling which gives the whole place a really fun, lounge-like atmosphere. It's definitely the kind of place that feels different from the typical bars around San Jose. The crowd was great as well !
