I had a move out clean for my 2-bedroom apartment in the south loop and went to urbahome for my move out cleaning. The team showed up on time, and even called to let me know they may be late by 10 minutes due to traffic. It's nice they respected my time. They brought all supplies and were courteous and friendly. It took about 4.5 hours to clean my apartment. One of them focused in the bedroom and bathroom, while the other worked the kitchen and living room. Having a team of two was very nice and more efficient for my heavy clean. Overall they exceeded my expectations and the owner of the company gave me a call the following day asking how my clean went and seem genuinely interested in improving the service. If I didn't move out of the area, I would continue to use their services. read more

Saturday I found I was hosting partners at my firm at my apartment the upcoming Tuesday. My apartment was as clean as a college guy's place (e.g. dirty). Ended up scheduling for a Monday clean (short notice yes) and Dynasty was assigned to my apartment. She arrived 10 minutes early and did an amazing job. Routinely she opened cabinets and lifted furniture/stuff to make sure the place was clean. Before she arrived, I dumped stuff on my bed to get it off the floor... and when she left I found she had made my bed and neatly arranged all my stuff/clothes in the same places. Stellar job & very cost effective. read more

I was traveling out of the country last week for work and wanted to get my place cleaned while I was gone. I checked out a few maid services with online booking tools, but was turned on to urbahome by a recommendation from a friend. Initially, I was impressed by the website but was concerned about quality/reliability issues given the fact the company is relatively new. I couldn't have been more wrong. I came back to a spotless apartment and a personal email asking for critical feedback. You can tell this is the sort of company that cares about the quality of service provided and making the customer happy. In all, urbahome was convenient, reliable, and affordable. I'll definitely use again. read more

Urbahome does a great job on our condo, and if you set up a regular appointment they do it for even less! Their cleaners are fast, effective, and very friendly. Another great feature is their easy to use website that allows you to change, cancel, or schedule a new cleaning quickly and without having to wait on hold or spend time on the phone. We have had some scheduling mistakes but they were handled promptly and professionally with the cleaners and the home office. Overall we are very happy with Urbahome and look forward to our sparkling home when they are finished. read more

I highly recommend this cleaning company for several reasons. Read on fellow Yelpers! We did not find them to be terribly "expensive." We have paid a lot more before, and a lot less to have our house cleaned. In some cases, the old saying "You get what you pay for" is all so very true. We have a 3-bedroom house. One of the bedrooms was converted into a home office so in reality it is 2-bedrooms for this reason. The individuals who came to do a deep cleaning were sweet, friendly, efficient and thorough. They did an outstanding job cleaning everything, and I mean everything from the baseboards, to the top of door frames to the crevices of the tiny tiles on our bathroom floor. We were impressed and would use them again for a Spring and Fall "deep" cleaning. They are courteous, professional and showed up on time which I appreciated. Oh yeah, they also speak English which I really, really appreciate. Sometimes it can be difficult to communicate with people who do not speak much English (or none at all for that matter). Customer service is worthy of 5-stars. We used their services in mid-May, so this review is long over due. I also like that they were careful not to break anything. They were cautious and not overly aggressive with their cleaning style. They were not rushing to quickly clean. The one thing I noticed immediately was how incredibly thorough they are (were) at cleaning. Impressive! SIDE BAR: A long time ago, I hired two Polish young ladies to clean our place. They broke a wine glass from the mid 1800's (I collect antique wine glasses from the early 1800's to the early 1900's). Not only did I not get reimbursed for the broken wine glass (worth a lot of $$$), but they didn't even deduct it from the cleaning fee. Needless to say, we never used them again. We had to recover our loss in small claims court. CONTINUATION OF MY REVIEW: The employees from Urbahome Cleaning Services were not afraid of asking questions. They were very careful cleaning around the more fragile areas of our home where we have some pricey antique pieces. We have original oak wood floors and they did an outstanding job cleaning our wood floors. The original woodwork in our home was cleaned to perfection, and we were incredibly impressed with the cleaning job that they did at our house. They did an excellent job. I highly recommend them, because they are professional, friendly, arrived on time, did a hell of a job cleaning, but best of all, provided excellent customer service. I use "Green" cleaning products because I have seasonal allergies. They accommodate your request if you need them to use "special" things to clean your apartment and/or house. I will be scheduling a Fall appointment in the near future. Thanks Urbahome for doing such a fantastic job at our house. If you are moving out of an apartment and want the apartment to be cleaned from top to bottom the Urbahome will do a fantastic job. Your security deposit will be returned and your Landlord will be super impressed too! What are you waiting for? Get off your lazy ass and give them a call today! read more

We are in the process of selling our home and the house needs a scrub. Will at Urbahome was able to find cleaners out here in St Charles for us. They did a great job, the house looks great and we'd refer them to the new owners. Bravo! read more

Requested green products. Paid EXTRA for green products. Did not get green products. This company falsely represented the services they provide, and I will not be using them again unless they happen to provide me a refund for services I would have never requested in the first place. Update: They offered me a WHOPPING $20 discount. (Side note: When King of Maids made this exact mistake, they offered me a FULL REFUND--still a terrible service, but at least the owner has some integrity.) So my "happiness concierge" or whatever the hell they call themselves finally returned the call I placed the morning in complaint of their error, and he assured me he would contact the "field manager," i.e. the only person not in the office who speaks English, so she could contact my workers, speak Polish (or whatever), and drop off green products with them. Well, 30 minutes later, no call, no contact, nothing. I kicked the maids out of my house, said thank you, even as I saw one leave with a $5 in her pocket that I assume she picked up from somewhere in my house and conveniently forgot to tell me about. This is by far the worst cleaning service I have EVER used. - Maids do not speak English - They do not provide substantial discounts/refunds - They conveniently forget about $5 they pick up for you and put in their pocket I didn't tip them. The maids can split the five bucks. Never again, urbahome. P.S. This is after the first time I TRIED scheduling an appointment with them last week, and my "happiness concierge" changed the appointment last minute without telling me so that I was forced to cancel the appointment altogether. What a nonsense service. P.P.S. UPDATE: It's now several hours after this debacle, and NO ONE has contacted me, apologized, etc. They have my number AND email. No attempt at contact has been made. This service is a joke. read more

My fiance and I were moving out of our 2 bedroom apartment in Chicago and wanted to bring in a cleaning service to ensure we received our entire security deposit upon our departure. We looked through ~10 different cleaning company sites and Urbahome was the first to actually list their prices on their website. I booked a cleaning straight through their website (no phone call required, thankfully) and received a confirmation email and text message reminders of my appointment. Two people were sent and they showed up on time and brought all supplies. They didn't even need my vacuum, which was extremely helpful as I was preparing for a move and the movers boxed up all of my stuff. The team scrubbed and dusted all over for ~3 hours to fully clean my apartment. I also was able to tip the team online in my account, great because I never have cash on me. About 30 minutes after the team left I received a call from urbaHome asking if I had a good experience. Great service, and I'm glad I found them online while researching. Was definitely impressed and would highly recommend! read more

Urbahome was a godsend for me and my roommates as we prepped for a farewell party. Not only did they fit us in last minute, but they cleaned all the spots I had additionally requested. Considering how easy the process was from booking to the finished apartment, I've no doubt I'll be a regular customer. The owner, William, understands the value of convenience without sacrificing quality. read more

Great team this week. They asked me to check each room as they finished. Pointed out things to be done in subsequent weeks. This company is easy to work with. They are customer focused. And they used the Melaleuca cleaning products that I provided. Loved that. read more

This company was a lifesaver! I was using the (horrible) service Handy to come have a home cleaning at 6:30p...Handy emailed at 6:15p and just straight up rescheduled on me with no workarounds. This was a nightmare because I was out of town and had guests literally on the road to my house -- luckily, I called Urbahome and they got a team to my house for an emergency service in less than 2hrs. The co-owner I spoke with was more than accommodating and he made sure he found a team for me using their sister company, Companionmaids. The team can and did an excellent job on my home and my guests were pleased. The cost was just a smidget pricey due to it being extremely last minute which is to be expected but I still think it was more than reasonable. Cost was around $150. read more

If I could give 0 starts I would. They have yet to show up for a scheduled appointment. I get multiple texts and emails reminding me they are coming and then they don't show up. The past couple of times they haven't shown up we've had guests coming and have had to take time off from work to make sure our apartment is clean and presentable. Have paid for extra services like cleaning the fridge or cabinets and and have billed me for them but haven't actually completed them. Has required me to email and get reimbursed but you are still left with the work not done. Surprised at all the 5 star reviews on here. read more

Highly recommend this cleaning service. My 2br 2ba was spotless, smelled great, and didn't take long at all. My dog sheds a lot and we couldn't find any traces of his hair anywhere. Will be using them again for when we move out in January! read more

Need to get my apartment cleaned. Saw these guys on yelp and gave them a call. Currently on hold for over 7m w/o taking to anyone. Too many cleaning services in Chicago. Not worth the hassle. read more
