I stopped into this store on a whim to look for shirts for my husband. I found 2 that were not on sale. while buying them I had a long conversation with the young lady checking me out. I told her I was pretty confident that I would need to return at least one. Not once did she tell me that returns are only store credit. fast forward one week to me returning a shirt and finding out the policy. I don't usually shop here so I was dismayed. The attendants in that day were certain that someone must have told me- and look - it's written on the counter said the employee as she moved off whatever was concerning the policy. Then they proceeded with snide comments that only made my resolve stronger that I will never shop at Uptown Cheapskate again ever! My friend that was with me agreed. read more

Such a happy place! They only put out the best quality clothes and their staff are very friendly and helpful. As a teacher, I can't afford to get new clothes every season, but Uptown Cheapskate has been my seasonal go to to refresh my wardrobe! And I've sold several items to them over the years as well, always opting for store credit so I can keep it fresh read more

The staff here is amazing. Gabriella and Bradley treated me like a queen. I had a car accident on the way back to getting my consignment deal written and they held my stuff for me and checked on me every day until I got back. What other place would do something like that for their customers in today's market. Way to go read more

Everyone was nice, and it was a lot of options especially for plus size. I was looking for work appropriate outfits and were able to find them. read more

Found some gr8 pieces and Brady was super helpful and kind! always great stopping in !

Great store had lots of options and employees were really sweet to me. Great help. Also nice music

Uptown Cheapskate has a great selection to choose from - they are intentional in their buying process! It's a great place to go if you prefer to shop sustainably and second hand- with great prices. Everyone is very friendly and takes time to help you if needed! read more

This store is so-so. It appears that not a single adult works at this place, and for some stupid reason they don't offer carts or even baskets, but on the plus side, it's well-organized and tidy. Much of the stock features high-quality brands, and merchandise is plentiful. Clothing prices are generally reasonable. I hesitate to return here, however, because the store WITHHOLDS YOUR RECEIPT UNLESS YOU SIGN UP FOR THEIR PROMOTIONAL E-MAILS/"CLUB." If that manipulative policy isn't illegal it absolutely should be. Truthfully, I have just as good, if not better, luck at Goodwill in Cockeysville, where prices are cheaper anyway. read more

Great place, friendly staff and amazing prices on name brand and non name brand stuff !!

First time in store, staff was friendly and helpful. Great clothes, very neat and organized. Found a Coach purse very pleased. Prices were reasonable for the quality . read more

Best shopping experience ever!! Happy Birthday to me with an extra 15% more!! The staff is so polote and helpful, can't wait to come back.

This place is amazing Great service and fantastic selections for awesome price.

Big expansion in Balto county/Timonium. Much more stuff for everyone, especially men.

Always great stuff to find here. Lots of times I find great deals on brand new stuff with tags. I don't recommend trying to bring stuff in to "sell" them because they pay absolute bottom dollar, designer or not. But hey, that's how they make the bargains possible I guess! read more

The service has been horrible lately I've been having to wait hours when it's not busy and there aren't many people ahead of me with a lot of items. Other than that, the staff is very friendly and the selection is good! read more

Great thrift store with a great selection of clothes for men and women. Love their mantra and all their efforts to keep clothes out of the landfill. read more

I love shopping here! They have a ton of variety and clothes are in good condition! The staff are helpful and always polite!

Service is horrible! I went to sell some items and was told a wait time of 4 hours . When I came back they still didn't review my items , there were 5 employees 2 of 5 not doing anything. I was told they are working as fast as they can and it would be another couple of hours. Maybe she was but others weren't even helping. I'm not waiting 7 hours to get $20 bucks . Donating to goodwill from now on ! (Tried this location due to the same issue in DC) read more

my first time shopping here and it was a pleasant experience! well organized and great staff!! will become a regular !!!

Just moved and had to get rid of some clothes. I went to Plato's closet and had a HORRIBLE experience. I was offered only $6.50 for 4 items from a box of pretty high quality clothes. I thought this was all I could get and accepted it sadly. Then I found Uptown Cheapskate online and figured I'd give it a try. It was a completely different experience. The store itself was well organized and had many quality pieces. They accepted 8 of my items for $24, which is double what Plato's closet was offering. All I had to do was go in and drop off my box. I worked with Lars. He was extremely stylish, polite, and nice about my clothes. They even folded what they didn't take! For next to no effort I got some cash for clothes I would have otherwise donated! read more

Great selection and prices. Lots of variety as well. Highly recommend if you're looking for an affordable consignment shop that has variety.

Great selection at fantastic prices! One of my favorite places to shop. Staff are always friendly and helpful.

I had a great shopping experience. Reversals assistant was very helpful. Super courteous! They explained the process well and got me in and out with efficiency! read more

EDIT: I was contacted by the store and was able to get my clothes back. Therefore, I am updating my review to 3 stars. However, as they mentioned, you are better off selling your clothes to online sites for a lot more money. EXTREMELY disappointed. i was offered a SMALL amount of cash/store credit ($15 cash/$18 store credit) for the clothes i sold there; they took a lululemon cardigan, brandy melville sweater and skirt, and levi's premium jeans. i did not feel like i had a choice in accepting the offer presented to me, as my clothes were already put away/aside. NEVER selling there again because it is a complete rip off AND i waited 1.5 hours just for that. if you're looking to make money off of your clothes, DO NOT sell to places like this - use ebay, depop, poshmark, mercari, etc. instead. read more

UpTown is one of my favorite consignment stores in the area. There is always a good selection of clothes in style and sometimes you're lucky enough to find them in your size. The staff is always accommodating to help you on the floor if you need help with the restroom, or getting something down off a mannequin. Decent $ for trade in clothing, but they do have a lot of requirements to take stuff which is understandable yet disappointing at times. Overall, great place for teens and 20-something clothes, but as a woman in my 30's I can still find the occasional treasure. read more

I Spent $100 in the Timonium Store went home and put a pair of pants on and the back pocket ripped.I went to exchange and they said they could not because it happened outside of the store.I was just looking to exchange for a new pair. They just lost a Customer for life!!!!! read more

I love love love Cheapskates!...I found them by accident they have reasonably priced second hand Clothes, shoes, handbags & wallets. All of the staff are super friendly.I signed uP for the rewards program which is always a plus and they don't have bags ( I hate wasting bags ) or you can purchase a reusable bag for just $1!...They also purchase gently used items read more

Good service and finds , organized well too . There are a lot of things hanging on one rack which makes it a bit hard to view what im looking at but it's manageable . read more

Really wonderful, friendly, helpful staff. Some of the best prices and overall selection and quality resale items. Will definitely shop here again! read more

Nice selection of new and gently used cloths with many high end name brands. However, paying $12 - $20 for each piece it took away that thrill of finding something great for cheap when thrifting for me. Though they did have a 50%-70% off sale on select color coded tags. Will return regardless! read more

Super clean, neat, and organized! I could spend HOURS in there! I made out well for myself and my daughter. We are definitely going to be repeat customers! read more

So I took in 6 pair of pants/jeans. 2 of those were never worn ( fake leather feel) from h&M (25$ retail) an old but barely wore miss me jeans ( retail was 150$ all rhinestones attached and lot better condition that the short I just bought there) a buckle jeans (retail 80$) and a 4 year old brand name real leather woman motorcycle jacket with lace insides not a scratch ( can't buy this exact one anymore but it's around 500-600$ retail. After a quick messenger conversation the day before they told me that they sell thing 1/3 of the retail price and but the 1/3 of that price.... they rejected all my pants and offered 8$ for my leather jacket!!!!! Everything is around a size 6-8 ... they said the reason that they can't sell that size ( size 6-8 is one of the most popular sizing) and too much wear and tear ( 2 of those pants were never worn or washed once) .... not impressed at all... read more

See all

sold here yesterday for the first time in a while. i work in the resale industry so i kind of knew what to expect in terms of what they would take and for how much according to the market (this is a store for teens/young adults thus everything is priced fairly low, so dont expect a lot of $$). however i found it kind of odd/rude that despite them being very specific about how they wanted sellers to bring in clothes (freshly washed and laying flat in a box) everything they gave back to me was wadded up, completely wrinkled. one of my shoe heels was digging into a leather skirt that now might be ruined??? i was planning on taking the rest to plato's closet after but now i have to go home, rewash and iron everything before i can do so. like i've worked a buy counter before i know how hectic it can get. but it's really not too much to ask for things to be at least loosely folded back up or laying flat as i brought it. read more

I love this store! I always find nice buys at reasonable prices! I also like the layout of the store it makes it really easy to find sale items and whatever size and colors I'm looking for read more

I have now been here twice and love it! I sold about 9 items the second time I came in and got store credit. On Wednesdays there's an additional 10% off when I traded in and bought items the same day. There's so much to look through and everything is trendy and in style. They start fitting rooms for you if your hands are full. Everyone is so nice and I definitely will be back! read more

Stopped by here on a whim and came out an hour later with some fantastic deals! It's a super clean store and they have fantastic brands. Friendly workers too. Will definitely be back! read more

I don't understand why it took me so long to make a trip to Uptown Cheapskate in Timonium, but I finally made it. And it was love at first designer label pick up! Uptown Cheapskate is literally going to be my new choice of clothing store, I was in heaven!!! There is a wide selection of men and women's clothing, accessories, shoes, and purses offered, all new and modern. You immediately think that they cater to a younger crowd, which they do, but there is a great selection of designer labels such as Ann Taylor,The Loft, and New York & Company. Definitely a great place to shop at for work clothes that may not always fit in your budget. I literally kept picking up different pieces of clothing as I made my way through the neatly separated sizes of choice. Had I had more time, and more money, I'm sure I would've walked out of that store with more. But two really nice Ann Taylor shirts for $12 is a steal. The young gentleman in the fitting room was really nice, and almost charmed me into buying another shirt, but my pockets said otherwise. Uptown Cheapskate is the kind of store that you want to visit when you have some time on your hands and don't mind carousing their racks. It is a definite must shop store if you are a bargain shopper, like myself. And if your looking to add some designer labels to your closet for a pretty reasonable price, then Uptown Cheapskate definitely needs to be on your radar. read more

I bought a brand new bralette made by Kathy Design U.S.A. It did not fit right. The exchange policy on the receipt says within 30 days for store credit only and Valid in full priced items. Must have tag and receipt. I took it in a week later. There were two cashiers working at the time and neither of them would give me store credit because I did not have an account with the store. They would not let me open an account so I could get the store credit either. read more

Highly recommend stopping by if you wanna save some $$$!! I bought so much stuff today from amazing brands like Lulu Lemon, Lily Pulitzer, Urban Outfitters, gym shark, free people and so much more!
