First time trying this location and will be coming back here exclusively for my donations/selling of clothing. I loved that they let us leave the store and go about our day while they sorted through our clothing. Other locations require you to stay in store and browse. As someone who's looking to be as minimal as possible, donating and selling my clothing is a great way for me to be mindful about what's staying in my closet. had a good experience at uptown cheapskate. The individual helping me greet as soon as I mention the store, assisted me with donating my clothes, and even showed me how to find the date of production on my clothing. I would recommend coming to uptown. The only downfall for me is the fact that, even though I had a really nice skirt the fact that the company takes close within 2-3 years of manufacture I wasn't able to get money for my skirt. I feel like one of the items that I have a little bit more than what was offered. read more

I had the most amazing experience in the Timonium location. Brady the store manager and his staff are pleasant. The store is clean and organized and extremely easy to shop. Not only did I have a great experience, I found pants from Pretty Little things that are long enough for my height! My wife found 2 pairs of pants and we only spent 25$ how about that! A very clean, well-stocked store. I found exactly what I was looking for and the employees were very friendly.

I came here to drop off a boat load of shoes that I only wore a few times. PROS: -Easy to find, parking lot out front -The arrangement and set up of the store is better than most thrift stores you will find around town -Staff were friendly and helpful - For thrifters, they offer 25% bonus on sale payments if you receive the payment in store credit. - They explain why they didn't purchase your times, although the appraisals seem subjective CONS: -The sign in process is very lengthy, they require a lot of information, including ID number, which was kind of weird -The appraisal of items took about 40 minutes and they recommended staying in the store, I couldn't stay in there that long, so I did leave and return -They didn't purchase anything but 1 of the 20+ items I bought to the store, citing that the style wasn't right and some were too worn. -I saw expensive named brand items on display that were tattered and worn (Michael kors purses). read more

This is our first stop when my teenage daughter is looking for new clothes. I have also found some great items and recently bought an EUC Michael Kors wristlet and brand new Toms. My daughter found a homecoming dress for less than $10! My only complaint is while they moved into a much larger store, the racks are SO FULL that it's hard to look at anything. If you pull an item out, you have to really work shove it back into the clothes. I've not sold anything to them, but have heard you don't really get much for your clothes. read more

My son had a variety of clothes including vans, billabong and sports brand pieces and I was really pleased with the quick review of everything I brought in. Staff couldn't have been more helpful, the manager was super nice, and I left having sold more than I thought I would of what I brought in. I was honestly disappointed. I have been to different locations for Uptown Cheapskate and at first look this one seemed promising. I know sellers get very little cash but I was dumbfounded when I was given the amount. I have been selling in another location and I have been given $60 for 2 bags and about 5 pieces of clothing but this Timonium location offered me $30 for 3 bags, a couple of shoes, and a couple pieces of clothing? I had high hopes... I brought a garbage bag full of clothes to sell and when I came in, I was told I'd have to come back the next day since they couldn't look at the clothes that night and that I will receive a call when they're done. Fine, no problem. As I'm standing there checking in on the kiosk, one of the workers (manager maybe) was training another employee and was belittling him and being just plain rude. I felt so bad for this new employee.. how could you be like that in front of customers? Next day comes around, no call. All day. Finally at 5pm I call and they say "yeah we're passing on all your clothes, we just didn't call you"..... oh? Not to mention I had some new items in there that were in style and nice brands. On the purchasing end, they did have some good stuff but the prices were a bit high. (Selling a SHEIN top for 13.99? Really? It probably wasn't even that much on the website). Love the store and merchandise. However, they could not make selling anymore challenging. You arrive and they ask if you can return by closing time. So, you have to make 2 trips to the store. They do not allow any clothing to stay overnight. If you drop off clothes, for example, at 5:00PM, you are asked to return by 8:00. When you ask when they might be ready, they say "I don't know; there are 7 bags ahead of you that are very full". Ok so i may need to hang around for 3 hours OR drive back home and return--makes zero sense. BTW, the 7 bags are just sitting there; no one is reviewing the clothes, no wonder it could take 3 hours. Very disappointing. If their business model is to purchase clothing, why make it so difficult for the seller! Why would you have bags just sit there--isn't that an integral part of the business; accepting clothes??? read more

TOTAL WASTE OF TIME. This was my first time consigning with uptown and it will be my last. lets start from the beginning.. I showed up with 6 bags full of Free people, Raga, jeffery campbell shoes, anthropologie and urban outfitters @ the timonium location. A lot of the things were unworn with tags. I know this is subjective, but they were all in style and great brands and in great shape. I was feeling confident after strolling through the store and seeing absolute junk. Jewelry that looked dollar store quality... and vans shoes missing soles that they were asking $35 for. I didnt see a single thing I would have shown any interest in. I also had a bag of designer jeans and asked what the average pay out was and the teenage girl working told me less than $10, so I didn't even offer to have them rummaged through. They accepted 8 items and offered me $32!!!!! WHAT A JOKE!!! One of the items was a target sweater!? It seems like these children working there legit have no idea what they are doing. Even worse, they are so RUDE. I had no clue how long the process took so I asked an employee if I "needed to stay?" and she said "she would call when they were done". I ran an errand and called to get an update... the young woman who answered laughed and said "it was a 5 hour wait an hour ago and that I had 3 more hours to wait". I told her "no one informed me of that when I dropped off and tbh, u think they would, as thats a long time!" Had I known wait times were so long I would have opted for a day I had more time, or arrived when they opened. I explained "I don't live close"... and she started coping an attitude saying "she too drove there from the city everyday." Lets get this straight, I am the customer, you are the employee... apologize for your co workers lack of communication and or offer a solution or just move on. You don't get empathy for driving to and from your JOB. Funny part is she said I had "3 hours to wait" and that took us right to closing time. Which made no sense. So, I hiked all the way home and sure enough I got a phone call an hour later that my "offer was ready". THIS PLACE IS RAN BY CHILDREN AND IS A TOTAL JOKE. I stopped into this store on a whim to look for shirts for my husband. I found 2 that were not on sale. while buying them I had a long conversation with the young lady checking me out. I told her I was pretty confident that I would need to return at least one. Not once did she tell me that returns are only store credit. fast forward one week to me returning a shirt and finding out the policy. I don't usually shop here so I was dismayed. The attendants in that day were certain that someone must have told me- and look - it's written on the counter said the employee as she moved off whatever was concerning the policy.
