I'm almost taken back by the low ratings. When we entered we were greeted with the biggest smile and friendliest conversation from Payten. She was very attentive and notified us of what styles just came in. She was also very helpful with suggestions on new pieces we could add into our wardrobe. Great clothing and many options for summer, but however the employees were rude and stand - off ish. Yes, we were a group of teenage girls and the minute we walked into the store they gave dirty looks and stated that we would mess up / steal from the store. We put everything back where it belonged, however the staff shot eachother smirks and made snide comments towards us. We believe that although we were laughing, they were rude and could have done better. Nothing was messed up or stolen yet the dirty looks continued until we left. We even cleaned up the sales rack where previous customers had left clothes on the floor and hangers ajar. We feel as if this was unfair as only one top was misplaced and a shirt was not folded to their exact standards. Would not recommend for anyone under the age of 30. read more

I couldn't even give this place a one star. I have been shopping here for quite a while and understandably their clothing is always overpriced. However, today when shopping for shirts I overheard the employees bashing other shoppers who were just there, for not purchasing anything. They were making fun of a bride shopping for her bachelorette because they couldn't find her "vision" so after not purchasing anything she must have left. I then had to listen to the employees mention how she didn't buy anything and mock her. Yet I needed help in the dressing room and they were just gossiping instead of helping guests. Regardless I ended up buying 2 shirts and a jacket which I really liked, and was over charged. I contacted the store to ask for a store credit back but was again greeted by a very rude associate who said I would need to drive back to the store (which is not close to me) in order to be reimbursed. Just a ridiculous establishment who needs employees that care about the customers. Not sure who runs this place but you should be embarrassed. read more

The clothing at this store was very cute but unreasonably expensive. Immediately after I walked into the store I received dirty looks from the workers. We felt as if we were targeted against for being a young group of girls, and they almost made the impression on us that they thought we couldn't afford any of the clothes there. we were actually looking to buy stuff however their attitudes towards us ruined it. they were glaring at us and after every place we went they rolled their eyes and sighed and fixed the clothes we didn't even move, it was from previous customers. they thought they were better than us and it made us feel like they were extremely rude. wouldn't recommend. they were constantly whispering about us and thinking that we would steal and we felt downgraded. they were making horrible comments towards us and our group of people and it made us feel like we weren't welcome, even though we were considering to actually buy stuff from the store. it really is a shame that they had such cute clothes yet the workers were so horrible. they didn't even try to hide the glares they gave to us and the comments they made were loud and they definitely wanted us to hear it. read more

Their sales can be really great! Last time I went, I was able to get bathing suits that were originally $60+ per piece for about $17 per piece. The customer service was good but it took them awhile to start paying attention. Once they did, the service was almost overwhelming- each employee knew me by name and asked me how I was doing every 5 minutes (an exaggeration, though it felt like they were checking in almost too often). I did frustratingly notice that one of the tops I purchased was listed cheaper online, so if you can, I recommend double checking to make sure you're getting the best deal! read more

I don't know what it is but I have a LOVE/HATE relationship with South Moon Under at Harbor East. When I go on there no one ever says hello.. or How can I help you? I don't know what it is. Is it the time of the day that I'm coming in the store? I think the clothes are over priced but from time to time they have good sales. I have yet to buy anything from here because they make me feel uncomfortable when I walk in the store. I used to LOVE shopping at Harbor East but to be honest I don't have a great or positive experience at any of the stores at this location and I have to pay for parking. read more

Good service, a good selection, and most importantly, they did not fail me when I was looking to get a new pair of Havaianas on my recent trip to Baltimore. I googled "stores in Baltimore that sell Havaianas" and they showed up. I was skeptical at first when we walked in (as that is usually what happens when a place says they will have something... they usually do not). After a quick walk around, I found the exact pair I was looking for with my size in stock. Score! The store has some great pieces, casual or more trendy and it is nice that it appeals to men as well. Some items are more reasonably priced that others... they had a nice mix of lower and higher priced items. read more

If I could show up at businesses and teach their staff what customer service is and how to impliment it in the workplace, this would be my first stop. With the minor exception of one employee, no one in this store has a personality. The one employee that has a bit of fire even lacks a flame. The store is spendy, but the displays are fun and eye-catching. The store itself sells flare, the staff is quite bare. Simple nicities like "Have a nice day!" would help a tad. With the right training, some smiles, and maybe a little communication, this store would be the talk of the town. Since it's in the middle of all the built up luxury apartments, they don't have issues getting business, but there's definitely a lack of buzz. read more

I stumbled into South Moon Under one day exploring Baltimore and I think that this is one of the best little boutiques in the area. They have a lot of very cute modern styles. My boyfriend and I were waiting for our room to be ready at the Marriott Waterfront down the street, so we decided to browse in the nearby stores. We thought this store looked fun, so we went in. We were so pleased. I loved the selection of clothing, jewelry, accessories, and home decor. My boyfriend bought me a cute clutch and a pair of earrings. He also liked the men's clothing selection. This is one of my favorite places to shop. I regularly go to locations in Harbor East, Kenilworth and Annapolis.

The short version: The cute clothes is only a benefit if you ACTUALLY RECEIVE THE ITEMS YOU ORDER when the branch doesn't have your size. I have not received my order and the associates at the store have been completely incompetent in addressing the issue in a timely way, and have wasted a substantial amount of MY time "investigating to make sure I am not fibbing" and not providing me with updates when they said they would. We're coming up on three weeks since I ordered this coming Saturday. read more

I was there the day before & found some jeans but the button was totally broken & couldn't be repaired. They found another pair for me! Here's the good part ... Terrible customer service today at the Harbor East location. Sale sign says "extra 40% off sale items" with no clarification as to which sale items. After ringing up at the register, realize none of my sale items were an extra 40%, by then I was told only sale items with a red x were an extra 40%. I purchased the items, but after consideration I returned the items a few minutes later. The customer service in the store by one of your employees was so rude. I will never walk into this store again. And the price of the items was not outrageous, they were fair. But it was the principal that the sale sign should say all sale items with a red x, extra 40% read more

My favorite place to shop in harbor east, beautiful store, helpful staff who are very pleasant and willing. They have great sales and I always leave wanting more! They are very expensive but their clothing is fashion forward and made from quality materials. I've never been given a hard time when returning items. read more

This is certainly one of my favorite retail stores and locations (Aliceanna). Not only are the clothes beautiful, but the customer service is always 5-star and the music makes me want to stay just a little while longer. Don't see your size, travel about 25 mins away to the Kenilworth location. Its in the cut and mostly everything is in stock. Just know what you want before you get there. You won't get much light from the poorly lit (shady) personalities employed there. Overall, I LOVE the store. Monét certified! read more

This store is literally my first stop after I check in to the Marriott which is 3 mins down from the hotel. They have a great selection of jeans from Blank Joe's Frame etc and the girls that work here are so friendly and helpful. I'm in Baltimore 5 or 6 times a year and unfortunately I won't be back till next fall but will no doubt be back the next time my travels bring me back to town. read more

Just went in today and saw a bag that I really liked. No one greets you when you enter the store or asks if you need help finding anything. Grabbed the bag and went up to the counter to see if anyone would help me. Two sales assocaites were standing talking to one another completely ingnored me. They stop talking and then the associate at the register continues to her task without ever looking up. She stops her task to go out on the floor. So I put the bag back. Luckily I did after google search found it on amazon for 50 bucks cheaper :) read more

I went in to South Moon Under to buy a blanket scarf today; I wanted to see the different ways you could wear it and when I asked the people that were working they were super removed and acted like I was an idiot for asking; a guy finally came over and was modeling how to wear it on another girl that worked there and he didn't look me in the eye once and basically pretended like I wasn't there. It was so rude and inconsiderate. I saw the same blanket scarf at the south moon under in Clarendon and since I'm back and forth between Baltimore and Clarendon for work, I'd rather wait and buy it in Clarendon since the customer service is way better there. So disappointed since I shop at this store a lot, but I wont be shopping at this location any more. read more

Absolutely loved the store, customer service was a little embarrassing. Having a huge past in high end retail, I am usually a little let down when sales associates (of any type of retail) act as though you are inconveniencing them.. when its their job to help. Organization and communication in this location is seriously lacking. I had 3 different sales associates as if they could take my items to the fitting room, I had at least 7 or 8 items on hand in which I fully intended to purchase. When I made it to the dressing room, all of my items magically disappeared and I was questioned by the associate running the dressing room as if it was my fault. The associate helping me was apologetic and kind, which I appreciated. Just extremely annoying that the other staff member was so rude and unhelpful. I love the clothing/accessories sold there and will continue to shop, just no longer at this location. read more

I was so displeased with this store. This place needs an upgrade on their employees pronto! When I walked in, although there was a great selection of clothes, the place was a complete mess. Clothes on the floor, things out of place, there was dust and dirt everywhere all over the floor, even trash. I tried on a few things but to my displeasure, half the stuff I tried on either had make up stains all over it, or armpit deodorant stains. I was not greeted when I walked in, in fact I noticed one of the sales girls eyeing me up and down, and then decided to walk the other direction, not even asking me if I wanted a fitting room. I over heard two girls speaking about another girl who I assume they worked with, and I heard a lot of swearing in that conversation and nasty hateful things. It was very uncomfortable for me to hear and I think any person in general would find that uncomfortable and unprofessional. To top it all off, I was checked out by an elder lady that was working there who had an attitude from hell, she was worse than the young girls working there. It was extremely inappropriate the way she was behaving towards me. Walking out of SMU I was utterly disgusted with my experience from start to finish and I will never be giving my business to them again. I asked fellow peers and friends of mine if they have ever had an experience like I did there and most said that the harbor east location is atrocious and terrible, and the employees are nasty. Supposedly the Towson location is much better, but I have such a bad taste in my mouth for this store, I will not be trying that location either. It's such a shame because the clothes and shoes are awesome. The people that work there just make it such a miserable experience, you can feel the vibes as you as you walk through their doors. The girls are unfriendly and look completely miserable.. And that elderly lady (maybe a manager) was disgusting!! WILL NOT BE BACK! read more
