I just recently saw a review from Karmalife about how bad this store is. But its really not it's a great store with a lot of AWESOME merchandise! It really bugs me when people complain about something when people try their hardest. THE STAFF is young but I've been come their with my girlfriend for awhile now and they do conversate with the customers and aren't afraid to give you an honest opinion. I guess you just have to be receptive and approachable. THE MERCHANDISE is crazy trendy and affordable. I've seen brands from Target to Marc Jacobs to Gucci. They even have new clothes & jewelry they get from vendors. SELLING your clothes there is the easiest thing you can do because all you have to do is bring things. Now if you know your clothes are dirty, stinky or dated, why would you get mad if they weren't accepted into the store. Your not going to walk out with a million dollars. You'll walk out with new clothes or the proper amount you've been paid for the convenience of resale. THE AGE THING is so overrated. I've seen Great-Grandmothers in there shopping for themselves so I know that there is no age cut-off. So if you are 900 years old, hate the word LIKE, and loathe people telling you your AWESOME don't shop at Uptown Cheapskate. But if you want great finds at AWESOME prices pay them a visit. read more

I have been to the Salisbury and Timonium location for Uptown. I have shopped and sold at both stores! I had never shopped or sold at a resale store before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I brought some great brands and a few higher end pieces. They weren't able to take everything, but like I said I wasn't sure what to expect. I asked what they were able to take, just so I knew in the future what they were looking for. I brought a great coach bag in that was a couple years old, but still in excellent shape. They were able to take the bag of course, but I wasn't sure I was ready to part with it for the price they offered. The lady I was speaking with was extremely friendly and helpful! She had no problem, when I asked, explaining to me the process. She let me know what my items were to be priced at, what my payout would be and the reasoning behind it. Usually when I'm selling I take store credit. Whenever I shop I find great deals on the most current fashion trends! I ended up bringing the same coach bag back because I realized I would never use it and did not feel like dealing with the internet. I took store credit and ended up leaving with an even nicer Michael Kors handbag! Definitely a great place to unload the items I'm over in my closet and a great place to shop at great prices! read more

$145 for four dresses and suede Steve Madden boots? I'm sold. Love, Love, Love this 'resale boutique' in Timonium (conveniently located next to delicious Chipotle). Uptown Cheapskate is new to the area, and I stopped in for the first time off a friend's referral. The store is really big for a consignment store, and immaculately clean and merchandised. But more importantly, they had awesome clothes! I scored literally 4 dresses - a Roxy, Threads, French Connection, and a Mossimo, for about $15 each (the Mossimo was probably $8). I tried on a pair of perfect Frye boots that were tempting at $100, but ended up with perfect knee-high brown Steve Maddens that still had the original price tag (of $148!). The customer service was great, and the girls (as other Yelpers commented) were knowledgeable about the product and super stylish. I liked the mix of styles there, and will be back to snag some work-appropriate stuff soon! read more

So I've shopping in this store several times since they opened last year. Each time has been a little better than the last. I guess sometimes there are some growing pains that new stores have to work and they have done that. The staff is great even though I feel like a lot of people must work there. I never really see the same face twice. The store is pretty well organized, they group like things together, all dresses in one place and must everything is sized. I noticed that Fridays and Saturdays are really busy so I try to only shop on the week days. Not a huge fan of crowds or waiting in line! I do wish they had a larger selection of jeans. I still have not found what I'm looking for but I've success with sweaters and shirts and they have really cute jewelry! read more

I usually come to Uptown Cheapskate to sell clothes, and it's always a smooth, easy process. The staff is friendly, professional, and quick to explain how everything works. You are able to drop off clothes, and come back at a later time when the buy is ready. I appreciate that they're selective, as it keeps the store's quality high and the offers are fair for gently used, trendy pieces. The store itself is clean, well-organized, and has a great mix of styles if you want to shop after selling. While you may get a lower value when selling your clothes, it is quick and easy money. Overall, a convenient and reliable spot for clearing out your closet and giving your clothes a second life! read more

Uptown Cheapskate is a great place to find bargains on gently used designer clothing. They have clothing for men and women, no children's clothing, but they do have a wide selection of jewelry, shoes and new items. I have bought a $700 Michael Kors purse there for $100! You can give them your clothes for their cash, but I brought in my sons mint condition warrior lacrosse gear and they wouldn't take it! I also brought in my daughters mint condition Abercrombie jeans and they gave me $2 dollars for them. Overall, it is a great store to shop, but they simply don't take enough stuff or pay you enough money for your quality clothing. read more

I had a great experience at Uptown Cheapskate in Timonium. I brought in items to sell and received a very fair appraisal, which I really appreciated. The staff was friendly, professional, and easy to work with throughout the process. The only downside was having to come back the next day to get the appraisal results. If you're planning to sell, I recommend coming earlier while the store is fully open so you can get everything appraised the same day. Overall, a positive experience and a place I'd definitely return to. read more

I've been a loyal customer of Uptown Cheapskate for a little over four years. Uptown Cheapskate has always had stellar customer service, including employees who are really in touch with what the customer wants. They do a great job sharing their most desired items on their Facebook page so you can even shop from home. I can always rely on Uptown when looking to satisfy my high end bag needs at low prices- I've purchased brands from Kate Spade to Marc Jacobs to my favorite Michael Kors! read more

Don't shop here!!! Their very racist! Horrible rude people!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! They watch you very hard and make you feel uncomfortable to shop. The manager follows you around the whole store. I went into the dressing room to try on my items and the manager once again knocked on MY door asking if everything was ok. ONLY my door! I was on in there for about 2 mins. I don't like this place I'll never shop here again! I never even brought the items I left! read more

I was nearly arrested for shopping while black glad to see diversity in the staff now that I was the example. I assure you it in fact happened at the Timonium location Baltimore county police were called by your manager because he thought I was shoplifting again shopping while black in Predominately white area. I'm glad this forum is available to speak on the discrimination that's still present this day. read more

Scored alot of great items here. Staff is upbeat, friendly and ready with clear, concise explanations of their buy/sell process upon request. No kids section, but with a 13-30 demographic for men and women there's something for almost everyone. Sell process is quick and fair; no stains or outdated items make it past the buy counter. Definitely will be back, give this place a shot! read more

I used to shop at their original location on York Road but I hadn't been there in quite sometime. I was quite impressed with the larger space they moved into and even though I could only spare half an hour I found a beautiful charcoal gray sweater and a pair of pants which looked brand new and fit perfectly. I was so excited, mission accomplished! Can't wait to go back read more

excellent shopping experience at the timonium store today! Employees were kind enough to kindly take what I had in my hand & hang the items up in the dressing rooms for me. Wonderful customer service! Looked like some new people possibly in training that definitely have a learning curve but for the most part excellent & helpful group of people working there- read more
