Two days at this joint, a mellow yet attentive service bar side. Steak was Omaha great, burger could stand by itself and the Firehouse Red Lager was proper! read more

I really enjoyed this place. Fun atmosphere, great menu selection and good locally brewed beers. If I lived here I'd go often.

It was really terrible. The service was extremely slow. Not a good venue to take important clients.

Great food, great service, nice micro brews, perfect atmosphere. Will be going back.

First of all, The food was absolutely amazing. Well done, no mistakes whatsoever and it tasted like a piece of heaven. Secondly, the waiters, and waitresses were always making sure me and my family was taken care of and our drinks were always filled up. It was a good environment to be in, everyone was in a good mood. Another thing I would like to add is that the restaurant was perfectly clean! One last thing, the restaurant was in such a good part of town, many unique things to enjoy!!! read more

I was passing through for work. I didn't have any good, but the Beer and Staff are great!

Great steak and cold beer. A brewpub in a sports bar disguise. An excellent combination. A steak, a very good IPA and Stanley Cup playoffs.

Great burger! Bun was awesome! Bear was great too...and only 3$!

Perfect place for a date night! It was a fun atmosphere and great food! I ordered a pizza and salad and my husband ordered the steak. Both were perfect! The server was sup[er friendly and great at recommending food and drinks. I know it is a brewery, but the martini's were delicious! read more

Terrific selections of beers. The freshly made hummus was terrific. Wish I could have gotten my growler filled, but that is due to stupid Nebraska laws about filling a growler with another's label. Oh well. read more

Fantastic place!!! Would highly recommend coming here. Great selection of brewed beverages. Pickle chips were delicious served with honey mustard sauce. The beer cheese soup was hands down the best I have ever had. read more

3 stars is not a bad thing. i wasnt WOW'ed; and i really wasnt too impressed either... but its signature hand carved Omaha Steak is the star here... so there is no denying its credibility... the GRUB: - the bacon wrapped shrimp was tasty, but simple... shrimp wrapped in bacon with an appricot honey glaze and sweet potato shavings... - the even more simplistic Upstrem sig dish - Calamari Friti - with peppercinis, lemon and cocktail sauce was good, but nothing too innovative... - my main dish was a house signature also - a spice rubbed 12oz Ribeye (hand carved OMAHA STEAKS, btw) drizzled with a sriracha mayo, herby-garlicky mash potatoes, and hearty carrots and broccoli medley... the meat was cooked perfectly... but the rub and sriracha mayo battled the flavor of the meat, i may have given more notice if i had ordered a filet without any of the extraneous seasonings... the mash was mash... and the carrots and broccoli was lackluster. - another Upstream inspiration was the house brewed beers (including a homemade sasbarilla style root beer) were amazing - seeing that this place is also a microbrew... no real complaints here - desserts - like the fruit cobbler and personal cheesecake - were ok. - FULL BAR on top of its microbrew.... the JOINT: - microbrew style place... if youve been to Gordon and Birsch, the Rock Bottom, Karl Strauss, etc. - you'll be in familiar territory - can i get a sharper steak knife? maybe of better quality? - market location - very touristy - parking is difficult - the dining area is huge... upstairs, floor level, downstairs - huge! the SQUEEZE: - i was here on business so price was no object... but $30 for an Omaha Steak plate and some beer seems just about right... - cards and cash accepted - reservations recommended FINAL SAY: when in rome, do as the romans do... this delivered on the Omaha Steaks promise, too bad its considered one of Omaha's top chop houses tho... because for the well travelled foodie - it fails in comparison to other steak houses (in taste, presentation, dining enjoyability; vs steak houses in Dallas, Chicago, New York, LA/San Francisco, Las Vegas, Boston, DC, Seattle, etc.) - which is disappointing since the shining star of Nebraska's culinary mark is the Omaha Steak Experience... i would have loved to mention it in the same breathe as the cities recited above. read more

The food is good but not very memorable. Very basic foods. Not a bad visit at all, but not blow you out of the water material.

We were visiting Omaha and enjoyed our dinner at Upstream. It was a win-win-win--good beer for my husband and I, a magician entertained our two young children with a magic trick and balloon animals, and all of us enjoyed the food. We will definitely return on our next trip. read more

Food was great, service was ok. Only one gal was working the outside deck. And the beer was great!

We had several recommendations to eat here as it was supposed to be family friendly and have great food. Our waitress was extremely rude and short with us and our children. We got in trouble on multiple occasions: we sat an empty sampler ass on another table so it didn't fall off ours as it filled up, we moved the center menus off our table for more space, our son dropped a piece of bread and we picked it up and put it in an empty sampler glass so no one ate it. To top it off our food was nothing impressive. I would like to add that we have 2 children, very well behaved and we were one of 3 tables in the entire upstairs area. We were not impressed and will not be visiting Upstream Brewery again. read more

On a road trip passing through Omaha- a local friend took us to Upstream for drinks. I had my two children with me (3yo and 7mo) so this 5 star review is not for the drinks but for a specific person's kid-friendly approach. If you have kids with you, you want to have Dylan as your waiter. He was so awesome and patient with my independent, curious 3 year old. While I was looking after the baby and engaging in conversation at my table, my 3yo sneaked away for a minute. When I went to check on him, I found him sitting at a table with Dylan, they were making crafts (provided by Dylan!). Granted, it was a bit late on a Monday night and the floor was already almost empty and quiet. Still, I appreciate how Dylan was effortlessly willing to keep him entertained. If you have little kids, you know how important it is to find (or bump into) people like that! Thank you, Dylan, for making my visiting experience more pleasant and for being a friend to my kid. read more

Nice place, good location, fun atmosphere. Today was my 5th or 6th time eating here and each time I would say the same thing......the food is not that good. I had a burger today and salt and peppered it twice because it was just bland. I don't think it had any seasoning on it. I've eaten something different each time and have never had anything that was really delicious. If you want a tasty burger go to Dinkers or Marlybone. Atmosphere isn't great but the burgers are and half the price. read more

I absolutely love Upstream! I was sad when they closed the one out west, and was also a bit puzzled because every time I went there, it was packed. I do actually prefer the Old Market restaurant itself, but don't get down to the Old Market as much as I'd like. The service is always excellent, and the servers seem to really enjoy working there. My favorite dish is their Fish n Chips. I like that you have the option to choose 2 or 3 pieces of fish, depending on how hungry you are. You have to be hungry to get three, I think, because the pieces are HUGE! Their housemade tarter sauce is one of the best I have ever had and they never mind if you ask for extra, which is good, because I am always concerned about the getting the proper crunchy fish to tartar sauce ratio. I am not much of a drinker, but the one drink i always go for is beer, and they do not disappoint. My husband and I always have a hard time choosing which one to get when we dine there, because they are all so delicious. I really the taste of beer and Upstream's selections are crisp, fresh and undeniably tasty! read more

My favorite place to eat in downtown Omaha. The place is huge, and has a great atmosphere. The food is great and so are the beers that are brewed here. The one thing you have to try is the Smoked Gouda and Blonde Ale Soup, it really is the best beer cheese soup I've ever had. There is also an another Upstream located in West Omaha, but I would drive farther just to go to this one based the atmosphere alone. Don't take my word for it though, try it for yourself! :) read more

Yes! My family & I made a visit to upstream recently, & we had such a wonderful time! The food was excellent, the drinks AMAZING! Most of all the service! Our server Champagne was phenomenal, fast, knowledgeable, & simply fantastic! She asked us our reason for coming out, which happened to be my best friends birthday, & she celebrate with us! When I come back, it will be for more than the food & drinks, but to see Champagne! our new favorite server! Thanks Upstream Brewing! read more

Haven't even eaten yet but there was a tornado warning and they took everybody to the basement and served free beer! So based on customer service alone this place has rocked! read more

Get rid of pool table reservations. Either you play at the table or ya don't. Private parties shouldn't be able to reserve pool tables. We were there to play pool but ohhh no, a bunch of folks had reserved the tables. NO ONE WAS PLAYING AT THE TABLES. Yet we still weren't allowed to play. LAME!!!!!! read more

The first restaurant I visited in Omaha years ago. Upstream is a nice atmosphere down in the Old Market. I was there when they did the magic card thingy on the ceiling. Look up the next time you're there. The food is great. The beer is good, and the root beer is good too. read more

My first review of a Nebraska restaurant.......this place is okay. It's a microbrewery, you can say with a restaurant.....i guess its similar to a lot of microbrewery/restaurant in the Bay Area. I didn't really drink any beer, for I cannot say anything about the beer. So this yelp is mainly for the food. I ordered the Pork schnitzel with smashed potatoes and vegetables. I have to say it was okay............not bad, not great, but okay. The pork schnitzel was similar to a shake and bake pork chop, that's why i can't knock it too bad because it was moist, flavorful and it had a good sauce on top of it, which was some kind of mustard sauce. Although as great as my "shake and bake" pork was, the smashed potatoes did nothing for the dish, it was bland, overcooked waxy potatoes with the vegetables that looked like it came from a frozen package. The service was fast, and she was very patient to our needs. I would say for my first visit there, I would come back and try something else just because the menu was quite unique. There was some chicken with raspberry sauce which sounded quite interesting. If anyone orders this, let me know what you think and we'll see if I come back... read more

I wandered into Upstream with my coworkers a few weeks ago when I was in Omaha on business. Since then, I have been back 3 times and every time it has been stellar. This is a Rock-Bottom-esque Microbrew pub with a combination of pool tables and bar upstairs, large bar with TVs ala sportsbar downstairs, and a decent sized dining room bordered by microbrew kettles all around. The atmosphere is nice if a little noisy, the service both at the bar and the dining room is great, and the food is surprisingly good. The comparison to Rock Bottom is there again, the food quality at Upstream is *much* better and the menu just seems better thought out. I had a steak on special the first time and Jambalaya the next 2 times - the Jambalaya is outstanding, not something you expect to find in the beef capital of the universe, Omaha. I give it 4 stars only because I have not been there enough. If it continues to be great, it will get an upgrade! Highly recommended! This is in an urban renewal section of downtown Omaha, and though we were able to find on street parking every time, it was tight and I can see how it would be tough to find a spot on a weekend when that part of the city is at full pool. read more

I've only been here a couple of times but both times were fantastic. The first time I brought my Grandmother here (she wanted an Omaha steak) and it was incredible. They don't rush you, we were able to enjoy a drink before ordering our appetizers which were calamari served with banana peppers and bacon wrapped shrimp with an apricot glaze both were fabulous. We had plenty of time between our starters and main course too which I find very refreshing, I didn't feel like they wanted to turn our table, some people may think the service sucks but I like being left alone, when we go out we usually don't rush we like to take our time so by all means... don't come to our table every five minutes and don't invade our time, our waiter was nice and quiet, in and out, a couple of times my water glass would get filled with out me ever noticing someone came to the table and I like that, however when I did need something it was very easy to get it. the steak is amazing, I ordered the fillet Mignon and it was just incredible, cooked perfectly and melted in my mouth. The second time I went here was for an entirely different reason. My husband and his friends and I wanted to go play pool there and I had a great experience. First of all I have to say the management there is great and I really appreciate that they care for their guests and can accommodate their guests needs with out issues. We went on a Saturday night and it was easy to get a pool table. The atmosphere is very friendly and fun and getting service is very easy and they people working there that night were very friendly and attentive, also there is always good music playing. We had a great time and will definitely be going there regularly. read more

First visit while traveling through Omaha, and am thoroughly impressed. No wait on a Wednesday evening (the place is pretty huge) and they've got a super friendly, knowledgeable staff lined up. Great cask IPA (seasonal), burgers were amazing, and the falafel (on my sandwich) was probably the best I've ever had. Super impressed with quality for the price and will definitely be back next time I'm around this city. read more

I previously heard such good things about the bread pudding, but alas the bread pudding was not appetizing. Likely will not be ordering this again. Probably will check this place out for dinner at a later time. read more

Very trendy and a larger brewery. Good beers and great beer cheese soup! I've had better beers in Omaha, but if you're new to crafts, this is a great place. I'd come back for the Scotch Ale. read more

Been here several times with groups that wanted to go here or events booked here. Generally average service and food. Its not a place I would ever pick to go to, but invited, I wouldn't turn it down either. Overpriced for what you get. read more

Love the food, beer, and atmosphere! Really sad that they closed their West Omaha location since that's much closer to my house. That location had a bakery in the basement and I ordered a fantastic cake for my wedding last year. Very cool restaurant, but the food is not very good. I went there yesterday for lunch - and left work early that afternoon not feeling well at all. The wait staff is excellent, and the bar is very nice; but I really believe that they need to step up their game in the food department. read more

While on a Road Trip from Minneapolis - Chicago - Omaha - Denver we stayed in The Market area - we asked the hotel for recommendations and they steered us to Upstream, we were not disappointed. It was the best dinning experience in 5 states. Just what the Doctor ordered. TJ the manger was awesome, we really felt welcomed and the service was incredible. We received our Dinner meal before we were halfway through our flavorful IPA. Should my travels take me to Omaha I will be saving time by not having to worry about were I will eat - Upstream has secured my business. If in Omaha try it - you will walk out with a big smile after having a Great time! read more

First time in Omaha, we only did a couple beers and appetizers, all of which was underwhelming. But the space and decor is very cool.

Come here for the beer. That's it. Don't be tempted to order the food. Just have beer for dinner, play some pool, hang out at the bar, what have you. Just don't eat the food and your experience will be great. read more

ICK!!! I have been here multiple times, and after our last visit, we decided that we will not be returning any time soon. It seems like upstream is hit and miss... To generalize, I honestly will only go to the bar for beer and drinks... and even at that I'm not going to run back after paying 8$ for a 4.5 oz martini that came in a 6 oz glass. We were there a few days ago, and we had the artichoke dip which was delicious. Then my husband ordered the fish and chips... which are usually good... but when he got them they didn't taste the same as in times past. I had a side salad caesar. I am obsessed with caesar, and was excited to eat it, until I took the first bite. I couldnt even finish it, because the lettuce was rough, and there were just big hunks of tasteless beefsteak tomatoes in it, with a dressing that tasted like they took an empty jar of mayo, put some water in it, sloshed it around, and dumped it over the salad. Pretty gross to say the least. I also got chicken on it for extra, and it was completely flavorless. after paying 6$ for a tiny side salad that tasted like garbage I was ready to move on... read more
