Have been wanting to try this restaurant for a while and decided to for lunch on a Monday. It's tucked in a lot with other businesses. The food was amazing. Will definitely return

A memorable birthday celebration at Uproot. We visited on a Friday evening to celebrate a birthday with close family and friends, even though it was a small group, we came ready to have a good time, and exactly that happened. The atmosphere is exactly what you'd hope for a night out, stylish, warm and buzzing with just the right energy. We kept it simple, a couple pizzas to share, and they did not disappoint. The crust was perfectly crisp with just the right amount of char, with fresh and flavorful toppings. We definitely indulged in several rounds of scotch throughout the evening, their selection of scotch are very impressive. Staff were great; attentive and made sure our glasses were never empty for long. Uproot delivered a solid experience, it was the perfect place to kick off another trip around the sun!

Our wings were incredible, as well as the hummus! And for our main wow the pork chop was tender and juicy ! Our sides were very good as well I loved the Mac and cheese and also the Brussels sprouts ! Of course do not forget dessert the tres leches special was phenomenal! Had such a great night thanks for everything Baylee !

We went to Uproot in Warren with friends. Fantastic evening here. We started with drinks Lychee Lani, Peach cobbler and Chardonnay Evolution all yummy. For apps we got the Brussels sprouts, shrimp dumplings, and buffalo cauliflower all well received. For entrees we ordered the JMM burger, roasted chicken, Tuna poke, and the mussels all great. For dessert we split the home made donuts which were excellent. Service was top notch. Liked the ambiance of the place. In a strip mall but you would never know it inside. Service was excellent. I will be returning here again.

We had reservations (party of 4) and received a warm reception. The atmosphere is upscale but relaxed. The food was amazing! I had a roasted beet salad and branzino. My husband had the lamb chops appetizer and pizza. We all shared the donut dessert - highly recommend! Complements to the chef and wait staff! We had an excellent time and will be back!

We had an incredible dining experience at Uproot! The cocktails were amazing and next-level, the wine flights were insane, and the food was truly excellent. The restaurant is stunning and they have a huge wine program as well. This place is one of the best kept secrets around in NJ! Thanks to Sam, Chef Scott, Mike, and the entire crew at Uproot for making our meal memorable! Check out our visit here: https://www.instagram.com/reel/DORVTbBjluk/?igsh=MWhwbnk4YWI2ajh2

The ambience was amazing, the food was pretty good too. But the service was horrible. From not really getting a good server experience, to the server, just leaving our water and seltzer on the table for us to self pour, coming by with the broom and leaving it right next to where we're eating. this restaurant needs to really take a look at their servers.. The food was good, ambiance was great, but the service. Not good.

The dining room was nice and clean. The service was good however, I didn't think the food stood out to me.

service was 10/10, my server was so sweet amazing ambiance, loved the live tree in the center with all the lights, felt really festive, the decor was nice and the bar was pretty i liked the complimentary white truffle risotto amouse bouche that was very fun and nice bite but i didn't taste any truffle tuna carpaccio was fresh and i liked the sauce and citrus and the garnish very nice app pizza was really yummy and good, freshly fired fish was a little plain and brocollini was kinda hard and undercooked but good quality overall lychee cocktail thing was really good tasted like lychee lemonade macarons fro dessert! very yum very good

    Dry, tasteless Roasted Chicken.

We thought we wouldn't Uproot again since it is under new management. Unfortunately, the food is still overpriced and not good. The flavors are off, the food is either overcooked or placed in the over to keep warm while the other plates are being finished. Regardless of the reason, the food is just not good at any price, let alone the prices they are charging. Also, the plating is amateur hour. Not the biggest deal in the world, but if you're going to charge 4-5 star prices, don't plate it like we're eating at a diner. It's a nice vibe for drinks at the bar, but it's a hard pass for dinner. Won't be having dinner there again unless they make some big changes in the kitchen.

Excellent atmospheric restaurant with a bar with many high seats and a dining room at the back. They have outdoor dinning as well. There is a real olive tree inside the restaurant, how unique is that. Uproot gives a vibe of upscale dining and highly recommend booking the reservation before going. The restaurant's aesthetic is unique and the atmosphere wasn't too loud. Bar area is upbeat, If you like it quieter, opt for the back dining room. Their menu keeps changing as per the season but always have enough options for both vegetarian and meat lovers. We went on a friday evening after happy hours and sat at the bar. We ordered couple cocktails, hummus and classico pizza pie. The staff was super friendly and service was prompt. Everything we ordered was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a great dining experience.

The food is usually really good. The chicken sandwich is my favorite all time chicken sandwich. Dinner? Poke bowl is good. Do not!! Get any steak here. I had the skirt steak and it comes ala carte. So just the steak was $48 for a 10oz. It was 100% not fresh. So chewy and very disappointing. Especially with no sides for that crazy price. And the drinks are really good but also pricey.. 2 angels envy old fashioned- $43!! That's so crazy.

The ambiance is actually very nice, especially for a restaurant hidden behind a strip mall. Unfortunately, that was the best part of the night. When we arrived, no one was at the host stand. After waiting a few minutes, someone who appeared to be a runner or assistant eventually approached us. We had a reservation and were offered a high-top; when we asked for a regular table, it felt like a reluctant accommodation. We were brought bread, butter, olives, and an eggplant caponata that was extremely oily. We booked through OpenTable because we had an $80 reward card, and the restaurant loudly advertises a prix fixe menu on its website. Oddly, we were never offered the prix fixe menu, and we noticed no other diners were either. It felt intentionally hidden. When we asked for it, the waiter (Hector) seemed visibly annoyed. We ordered eggplant rollatini and shrimp appetizers, and the angry chicken parm as the entrée. If you order off the prix fixe menu, expect noticeably smaller portions. Two pieces of eggplant rollatini instead of three, about a third of the usual shrimp portion, a tiny piece of chicken parm, and a small cannoli. At $55 per person, that feels excessive. The chicken parm was thin, burnt, and came out slightly cold. Easily a 2/5. They also charge for soda refills, which genuinely surprised me. I dine out frequently and almost never see that anymore. When the bill came, we tried to use the OpenTable reward card and were told the waiter had never seen one before. There was supposedly no manager on duty, and we were told the card couldn't be accepted and that we had to put the full amount on a credit card instead. Between the unfocused service, the awkward handling of the prix fixe menu, and food that didn't come close to justifying the price, this was not a good experience. I wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend it, which is unfortunate given the hype.

The menu has plenty of delicious choices and they offer specials as well. I'm all about the appetizers so me and my eldest daughter ordered several to share as our meal . We had the artichoke salad ( fell a little short in the flavor department could have probably used a balsamic glaze to elevate the flavor ) but the special truffle lunetta OMG so good petite raviolis and truffle butter cream sauce . We also ordered the seafood tower for 2 which was served with raw oysters and clams and jumbo shrimp and chunks of crab meat . We also tried the grilled octopus specials served with fingerling potatoes. My husband tried the pork chop which was about 2 inches thick and cooked to perfection tender and had great flavor. My youngest ordered the tagliatelle pasta which was cooked slightly al dente and served in a tomato cream sauce it was delicious . Our meal was simply delicious and we enjoyed the atmosphere. I will definitely come back to try some of those other delicious sounding dishes . They are celebrating their 15 year anniversary! Cheers to many more !

Buffet-style food had been arranged before our arrival, and we were able to bring in decorations, a birthday cake, and other party favors without any issues. The outdoor bar stops serving around 9:00 p.m., but we were able to move to a covered area near to the hotel restaurant and bar, which was equipped with heat lamps and provided a comfortable place to continue the evening. I ordered Daily special "Nashville Hot Chicken" fried chicken. What I got was 3 chicken tender sized pieces of chicken. Here's a clue, if you're going to list us as Fried chicken, indicate that they are chicken tenders and not thighs, breast, wings or legs as is normally served in a "fried chicken" plate. Some of the coating on each piece of chicken was black from over frying. The three pieces were lying in small puddles of oil. The fries and 5 small pickle slices were good. The cole slaw was ok. Service was lacking having to constantly ask for water, which I was drinking. Ambiance was loud with space between tables was practically non-existent with waitresses butt in your face as they're taking the order at the next table. That's it no more!

She actually felt so bad by the level of service she was providing that she comped our dessert. The food took a long time to arrive. Our plates weren't cleared between courses. Our water glasses were never refilled. No one ever asked if our food was O.K. The first wine we chose was "unavailable."We were never given a dessert menu- we had to ask for one. We had to endure this ordeal for two hours- it took close to 20 minutes just to get the check. All this could be overlooked if the food was good but it was not. Cauliflower appetizer was undercooked and overly spiced. Chicken parm meatballs were dry. Halibut smelled very fishy which is usually not a good sign - which proved to be true. Short ribs were fatty, chewy and one dimensional and sat on a bed of vegetables that consisted of potatoes, corn, tomatoes and other unidentifiable vegetables all in an unappetizing color brown. (Those were left untouched). Some gravy or wine reduction might have helped but it was all served dry. The best dish was a side of mashed potatoes which were buttery, creamy and well-seasoned- they would have made a great bed for the short ribs to sit on instead of those sad vegetables. The Funfetti donut sundae was good. The most positive comment I can make is that they didn't rush us out! To pay as much as we did for food and service that was mediocre at best was disappointing- we will not be going back.

Unfortunately, this visit was a huge disappointment from the moment we arrived. We were the only people there, yet the floor around our table was dirty with old Goldfish crackers and blueberries. We ordered the banana bread appetizer, an egg tortilla bowl, a western omelet, and two kids' waffles. The banana bread appetizer didn't come out until the rest of our food arrived, and everything was ice cold. The breakfast potatoes tasted old, as if they had been made the day before. While it wasn't ideal, we tried to be understanding since it was a holiday and the staff may have been overwhelmed. The highlight of the meal was the fresh-squeezed orange juice that we enjoyed with our BYOB champagne. However, no one checked on our table during the meal, and I eventually had to stop someone just to ask for the check. When reviewing the bill, I realized the kids' waffles seemed more expensive than expected. Sure enough, we had been overcharged for each one. When I politely questioned it, I was told, "That's the price in our register," and the staff gave me a hard time about correcting it. After asking again, they reluctantly handed me cash for the difference. The waitress was rude and dismissive throughout the interaction. Overall, it was such a disappointing experience, especially compared to how much we enjoyed it last year. Sadly, we'll be choosing a different spot for Mother's Day brunch next year.

Our waitress was just fine, but it was clear she lacked proper training in basic service and restaurant etiquette. Honestly I don't think she wanted to be there, was wearing sweatpants and could barely hear her when she spoke. The issues with the food began right away. I ordered a fruit cup for my son and was initially told they didn't have fruit--despite it being listed on the menu. After pointing that out, it was brought to the table, but the fruit was clearly spoiled, especially the strawberries. They had tried to cut around the rotten parts, which was honestly disgusting and concerning given this was being served to a 2-year-old. We immediately sent it back. I ordered a burger with sautéed onions, but it came out with just a few small slivers of what turned out to be pickled onions instead. The burger itself looked incredibly lackluster. I ended up sending it back and, at that point, was completely turned off from ordering anything else. I also wasn't asked if I'd like to order a replacement, there was no apology, no accountability, just a blank stare while the plate was taken away. To make matters worse, we were still charged $6 for the fries that came with the burger, which my son had started eating before I sent it back. I hadn't taken a single bite of the actual meal. My husband's "Kobe beef" sliders came with bacon that was completely inedible, so he had to remove it. My mom ordered eggs Benedict with Canadian bacon but received regular (inedible) bacon instead, and my father's meal was served cold. Overall, the quality of the food across the table was just poor. The bathrooms were also in rough condition. The women's toilet seat was loose and coming off the hinges, I nearly fell. The bill came to $146 after tip, which felt like a complete waste given the experience. Afterward, we actually drove across the street so I could grab chicken soup elsewhere because I left hungry. This was our second time giving this place a chance, and unfortunately, it will be our last.
