I'm a salad aficionado, and the Turkey Avocado salad met my high expectations with freshly grated parm, tender hard boiled egg, big slabs of turkey, topped up with homemade dressing. Chicken wings - the hubs said they were meaty and moist. Not quite five star, would have preferred buffalo style BUT he said he would order again. The real highlight was the service! We had a great experience at Upland for lunch. The food and service were amazing! There's a great neighborhood bar vibe. The bar is upscale and comfortable, with indoor or patio dining. Sarah, our server was phenomenal and a true ambassador for Upland. She told us that Upland started in Bloomington and, now, there are five locations in Indy area. The food is locally sourced and Upland supports the community. She stands by all of their food! We ordered off the Devour menu so we could try a variety of foods. We didn't have a craft beer because it was early in the day, even for me. We started with the Spinach Artichoke Dip, which is large and shareable. The dip is delicious with lots of artichoke. The dip comes with really fresh blue tortilla chips and toasted pita bread. The portion was so generous that we took half home. For entree, I had the Blackened Salmon BLT sandwich with blue cheese slaw. The salmon was a large portion of fresh, perfectly cooked fish. There was thick sliced bacon on top with lettuce and tomato. A spicy aioli sauce was on the salmon. The sandwich was fabulous and I would highly recommend. If you like blue cheese, you will like the blue cheese slaw. The slaw is fresh and tangy. My husband had Bad Elmer's Fav burger with fries. His immense 1/2 pound burger was perfectly cooked medium rare (as ordered). He raved how good the meat tasted. The burger was topped with two slices of thick cut bacon, cheddar cheese, lettuce and tomato. His fries were excellent, large and crispy (I ate half of his fries). We took the Chocolate Brownie dessert home. They had packaged the caramel and whip cream separately, so it was easy to assemble. The brownie is really rich and chocolaty. We loved the dessert. Sarah was kind and proactively brought boxes out for us to package leftovers. She thanked us for coming. The service is amazing. The bartender showed me the Happy Hour menu. From 3:00 - 5:00, beers and sliders are $4 to name a few of the great deals. In addition, a featured daily beer is special priced. Growlers are discounted on Wednesdays and Sundays. Television monitors are playing various sporting events. Parking is available towards the rear of the restaurant. We did not find close parking early on a Thursday morning. I highly recommend. I've been to Upland at Clay Terrace more times than I can count. I keep coming back to see my favorite neighborhood bartender, Sara. She pretty much runs this place. This is my "Cheers" where everyone knows my name. When the weather is nice I love bringing my dog with me to chill outside on the patio. They provide ice water and big water bowls too. The food is consistently delicious. The service is excellent. They have seasonal food and drink specials. It's like a bougie sports bar vibe. Busy on game nights. Packed at the bar. The staff here are some of the kindest and hardest working people I know. Today we tried the Blackened Crush Salmon Salad. It was really good definitely hit the spot. I had the Two of Tarts to drink. We stopped here after the going to Atlanta Earth Festival. Great atmosphere especially when the garage doors are open. Perfect place to catch a game and sip the awesome Off Hours Bourbon Peach Smash, which all by itself, is worth a visit. By the looks of it, they have a great selection of IPAs too. Our server, Vinny, was attentive and professional. The two negatives, are the flank steak tacos. You get $9 worth of food for the $18 price. Do not order if you hungry; most appetizers have more food. The second is somebody skipped bathroom duty in the women's restroom. We stopped in for lunch while visiting friends who just moved to the area--wanted something easy and casual for our last day of the trip. The menu's got all the pub staples, plus a pretty impressive lineup of craft beers. I went with a burger, beer, and fries. The beer I picked was very good, it was an IPA. The food-solid and satisfying, though not exactly a flavor explosion or grippingly memorable on any front. The place was pretty quiet when we came in, and service was on the slower side, but nothing too bothersome. Would I rush back? Maybe not. But if friends suggested it, I'd happily tag along. Three cheers a new family-friendly hang-out spot! I hadn't been to this location in Clay Terrace in years. There have been several different restaurants in this space, but Upland is by far my favorite. We stopped in at 3pm on a Saturday and there were people watching games at the bar and we ran into some friends eating lunch. We had two babies with us and our server couldn't have been nicer. We were sat next to the big garage doors and the babies loved looking outside. There was also some room around our table to spread out, so we felt super comfortable. We got two of the Hoosier lager beers and they were great. They let you try drinks before ordering and I liked tasting the guava sour, which I'll order next time. We also got a few baskets of fries for the table and they were SO good - more like thick potato chunks double fried, clearly in-house. Delicious. The only thing that would've made them better is if they came with a sauce on the side. They have a cool food menu here too with interesting options like lamb bolognese, duck tacos, whipped feta with jalapeno honey, and more. Our server said that the turkey and guac sandwich is her favorite, which I had my eye on and will order next time. Thanks Upland! My husband and I went on a Saturday night - it wasn't too busy so we were seated right away. Our server was very attentive and made sure we had everything. They have several tvs with different channels (mostly sports) on so you can watch at any angle. They have outdoor seating as well for when the weather is nice. The food was great! Taking over Prodigy Burger's location, they cleaned up the restaurant, removed the stale beer smell and offer a much better food and beer. I opted for fish and chips which were good. My wife enjoyed her pulled pork sandwich. We split the spinach artichoke dip that was served with pita bread and blue corn chips. This was fantastic. The beers we superb. But Sara, she's the best! There's plenty of seating and tv's at the bar to watch games. The IU beer is an awesome light lager type - very good. We had the hummus as an appetizer, which was a great shareable starter. Nothing spectacular but standard hummus with veggies and pita. We both had the burger and it was slightly over cooked but still great!! I had been craving one for so long and this hit the spot. We were loving this restaurant till today. They brought my stake tacos with half of the meat on the picture, like a child size, hard to fill even two tacos. Then I ordered this one by saying that I will put them on the social media. The one on the photo came with the normal size and I gave it to my daughter who shared the half of her sandwich, since I was still hungry. This is a great addition to Clay Terrace! Great, open concept. Servers who are knowledgeable about their beer offerings. The thing I usually don't like about breweries is that their food game is weak, but not here! Great, varied menu with tacos, burgers, and even steaks. Great appetizer offerings as well as dessert, too. The food came out quickly and hot. Really good, solid food. We highly recommend the spinach artichoke dip and the burgers! This was our first time here and we were not very impressed. The pretzels tasted like cardboard, my tenderloin was decent at best and had way more toppings than I expected which made it very difficult and very messy to eat. My wife got the smoked wings and said that they were very rubbery and did not even finish them. They do not even have their kids menu visible anywhere. And I guess you love ipas and sours their beers could be great but I do not like them at all and they only had like 2 or 3 options that were not sours or ipas. The locations is great and in the summer time they could open the garage doors and it would be a nice ambiance. By FAR the best part about our visit was our service. Sarah was a great waitress. We all know that men splatter when they stand and use the toilet and they don't wash their hands.. hey and some women don't you're just as guilty of it a lot of people think we'll just because they've urinated they don't have to wash their hands because it wasn't a bowel movement. Well, I disagree so you're nasty if you don't wash your hands. I believe the place in and around the bar could be cleaner. The fish and chips were good. They should've been great. It's kinda hard to mess it up, but it's possible when the outside is brown and crunchy and appears cooked it gives the impression that it's done. But the fish on the inside is a little undercooked, and the batter is wet. You don't know that until you bite into it especially in the middle super gooey! I have issues with that. I was going to send it back, but I didn't. I brought it home and put it in the microwave to cook it a little bit more and it was just OK. You know fish and chips dipped in batter the fish doesn't travel well and by the time you get it to where you're going it doesn't adhere to the fish. Haven't had fish and chips in forever years and I wasn't happy about the batter being sopping wet on the inside. I showed it to my friend and she was like yeah I see that. read more

We checked out the new upland while running errands and shopping at clay terrace. I'm thrilled there is a new restaurant option to replace the previous mediocre spot. We really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and drinks. It's much more of a restaurant feel than a brewery. We got a few beers and ordered the nacho appetizer which was a huge portion! It was so much for 2 adults and a kid. The waitress was very nice and accommodating for our needy 2 year old. There were tvs for my husband to watch whatever games were on. The turkey/guac sandwich and the beer cheese burgers were good. Our server (Kenzie) needs coaching! She brought two sour samples and accidentally dumped one on our table; my spouse sopped it up with her napkin. Instead of replacing it with a new one, we had to ask (ok, not a big deal) for a new one. A different server brought our meals; the fries brought with the turkey/guac were as cold as the sandwich (the sandwich was supposed to be cold!). When Kenzie stopped to check in, we noted the cold fries. She said. "Thanks, I'll let the chef know so he'll correct it for the next time". Whoa! I said, "I would like warm/hot fries....I'm not eating cold fries....i really don't care about the next person being served!" Kenzie, "oh, ok, I'll ask for new ones", which we later received. When we checked out, I suggested she put herself in the customer's chair, to which she said. "Cold fries don't bother me." Oh my!! BTW, the sour was excellent. The Upland locations always have such a cool vibe! The Clay Terrace location is no different. With that said, expect it to be busy whenever you go. We got there at 6 PM on a Saturday and didn't get a table until 6:30. Since it is a brewery, I can't not talk about beer. They have daily beer specials where each day is a discounted core beer. Saturdays is the little dragonfly. I'm doing damp January and their N/A beer was surprisingly good! As for their food menu, everything seems fresh. I ordered a Caesar salad and a side of fries. A downside to their food is, they never have ranch. They make a buttermilk dip, which is similar to ranch but on the sweeter side. Being from the Midwest, I've got to dip my fries in something and this buttermilk dip isn't it. Overall, the food is good but the vibe makes it great! read more
