Open, lively, people talking, drinks flowing, but still relaxed enough to sit and take your time. Easy place to wind down. Staff was super friendly. I ordered the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. Fried chicken, blue cheese slaw, horseradish pickles on a toasted brioche bun. When it came out, I could already tell it was gonna be good. The chicken had that deep golden crust, crispy all around. First bite had that crunch, then the heat kicked in right after. Not overwhelming, just enough to wake everything up. There's a little sweetness in there too that balances it out, so it doesn't hit too hard. The slaw cools it down, adds a little tang, and the pickles bring that sharp bite that cuts through everything. The bun holds it all together without getting in the way. Messy in a good way. I am from out of town. Here visiting customers for work. Staying right by this place. It's St Patrick's Day and I wanted some corned beef and a stout. This place fit the bill. I was hoping it would not be too crowded. It was just right and I found a place at the bar. Special Irish stouts are $4 so I got one. It was pretty good. Easy to drink. I ordered the CV Rueben with the fries. It is St Paddy's day after all! It came out within 5 mins or less. It was hot and ready. Looked great. Tasted good too. Fries were hot. And they were the brew fries with a coating. Not my favorite but these were ok. The Rueben was homemade on marble rye. The kraut was good and the thousand island tasted homemade too. There was some horseradish in there I think not too overwhelming though. The only issue I have is that the sandwich is thick in the middle but the ends have nothing except dressing. All the ingredients need to extend to the end of the bread. The end of the bread was just the dressing. The server/bartender was super nice. The place is small but not too cozy. Tables and a bar. If you haven't checked out Upland Brewing in Carmel yet then place it on your list for the weekend! We loved the vibes here and our waiter, even though he said he was new, was great! Carmel location has a patio which can still be enjoyed as it goes into Fall weather! And they have large doors that they open up to the outdoors so if you get sat indoors you still can have the outdoor atmosphere and view. I got the Thai Tofu Salad and it was delicious! Large in size, I wasn't certain what to expect with it being Tofu, but the pieces were grilled it appeared and they were so tasty! Our waiter said some people ask for extra Tofu even. So many flavors exploded within my mouth all at once! My husband got the Inferno Burger and because he enjoys spice, enjoyed his burger! I almost forgot we had the Spinach Artichoke Dip with chips as our appetizer and loved it! Our waiter kept wanting to take it away and I kept informing him we were still working on it! Ha! For our dessert we got the Warm Chocolate Brownie and split it. It did not disappoint. Our drinks were a Bean Blossom Hard Cider which my husband looked up info and found is from Oliver Winery and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Unfortunately the "homade butternut squash gnocchi" was not at all what it was described as. In town for work, and I figured I would stop by Upland for dinner and a beer as the hotel was right down the street from the tap room. The space was located at the end of a strip center, and could be easy to miss. As you walk in there is a small merchandise area, and a small cooler for to go packaged beers. There is a "V" shaped bar with around 10-12 seats, and a moderate sized seating area. There is also a small patio seating area. My husband and I love coming in here for a date night of nachos and delicious sour beers. This is by far our favorite location they have. Their patio is big and pet friendly, the staff is kind, and the food always comes out perfect. Upland has, hands down, the best nachos in Indy. Other places come close, but they just can't top them. They are a little on the pricier side for nachos when adding meat and guacamole, but other places still don't have anywhere near as much food. So for their portion size I think they are fairly priced. I always get the pulled pork and my husband likes to get the spicy chicken. Sometimes we will come here and get sandwiches or a salad, but the last couple of months it has just been nachos. All of their food is really great. We drive by this Upland a lot when driving on 116th st. It's been on my Yelp collection of places to try for a couple years. Finally made it. While the patio was busy , inside was almost empty. We started with the pretzel and cheese and mustard. The pretzel lacked pretzel flavor if that makes sense. It was just kinda nondescript bread. The cheese sauce was ok but had a weird texture. Like it wasn't mixed well. The mustard was awful, I loath horseradish. I got the tenderloin. It was pretty good. Not the huge Hoosier tenderloin but it was tender and I didn't bite into any gristle. Once that happens I'm done. But I ate the whole sandwich. I liked the fries. Nice and crispy. Husband got the Americana Burger. He said it was good and he also liked the fries. Just not wowed with the food flavor. Our server while they did their job they weren't at all friendly. Maybe they've had a long day I don't know. They had zero turn as my Grandfather would have said. Located this brewery in Carmel IN for a soccer tournament weekend. As we entered the restaurant we came to the realization that the AC was defective and not working. We were very optimistic and decided to stay despite the AC was not functioning and the restaurant was super hot inside due to their AC unit not being able to cool this place down with the temp outside being around 90 degrees. Ambiance of this restaurant was super loud and the conditions were warm. The service was subpar due to the transition of the serving staff. The first server was super attentive and friendly. The second server was not so attentive and barely came back to the table to check if we needed anything or another refill. The Caesar salad was not very fresh or cold. The side salad was warm tasting as well. The chicken wings was pretty tasty and cooked to the right degree of moistness. The libations were good and they had a variety of beers and ciders. I would not recommend this place until they get AC fixed. Super unpleasant to dine in a hot restaurant with poor service. I would recommend the wings and Rueben sandwich. After a break from the Tap House we finally made it back. Aside from delicious beer, the Tap House offers a very nice indoor pub space and a cozy patio. Service is always good. Now for the important stuff: the food. Upland Tap House offers some really nice options. The Upland Nachos are delicious and serve as a good main. The Soft Pretzel is delicious, and the dippers are wonderful. The Bison Meatballs are another meal substitution. The crowning star of this list, though, is the Chicharron. They are popping hot and delicious with wonderful dips. Our family has had the Wit Macaroni & Cheese , Fish & Chips, Three Little Pigs, and the Tenderloin. They have more dinner type of options that would be good to try. Since these more lunch options are solid, these options probably hold up. Do not overlook the salads. We lunch on the Thai Tofu, the Turkey Avocado. Don't miss the Grain & Arugula. You can add protein to any of these. Don't assume that they won't let you add pulled pork or a burger sans bun. They will fix it your way! We like the tacos, too. Pick any of them. You won't be disappointed. We like a lot of Upland's beers so when faced with a little post-holiday free time, this was a natural choice to get out of the house. We were seated pretty much right away - it was a weekday afternoon - but it took almost 15 minutes for someone to serve us. One server was loudly talking about needing his smoke break while gathering his things to go outside and the other seemed unsure if we were in her section. Once we were greeted, service improved, but it was a rocky start during a time they weren't especially busy. The tap list was lighter than I was hoping. I don't know if having 7 or 8 beers is normal or if it was reduced because of the holidays. I ordered a Tropical Vortex, a southern hemisphere IPA. It was good with some hints of tropical fruit. My husband and FIL both had flights. Nothing was bad but nothing was especially notable either. We split an order of Upland nachos - corn chips with cheese, beans, tomatoes, jalapeños, and onions. All other toppings were an up charge so we passed. It took longer than expected to get our check when we were done. Being able to pay with QR code was nice because it expedited the process once the check was in hand. Truthfully, I probably won't make a return trip here. Stopped here real quick for an appetizer on a Sunday and we got these amazing nachos that taste incredible. Nachos are nachos but not these, the flavors together were exceptionally different and amazing! The service was okay, our server knew we were just getting appetizers and I think he got frustrated by it so he switched out and said he was leaving and another waitress would take over, oh well. I've always liked this location. Today we came to celebrate my best friend's birthday brunch. Zach, our server was amazing. He made sure our drinks were refilled and made sure we knew what was going on with the menu. Plus we just loved his personality. We had our choice of brunch or the full menu. We were around this area so we stopped by here for brunch as they have outdoor seating. The line for to be seated was long as they were short-staffed but they made it work. Our starters: Chicharon. This was sprinkled with spices and it gets really hot. The sauce it came with is sweet and balances it out. Had to ask for extra sauce as it was really good. They fry the chicharon on order too so you get them really crispy. You can hear it popping as it is cooling down on the plate. Then we had the Kentucky BBQ wings with the sauce on the side. Both had good serving size and with just these 2 starters, we started to feel full. They have regular menu and brunch menu (until 2pm only) so I went with 3 egg breakfast from the brunch menu. The bacon was really good as it was glazed. Wifey had the Thai tofu salad and she really loved it as it was crispy, perfect in dressing spiciness. Both main courses we really good in serving size so we were full at the end. Definitely will come back to try other food on their menu on good weather days. I wanted to try their beers and ordered a flight, which our waiter helped answer my questions and helped me make a decision. I also ordered the Hoosier Tenderloin with a side of potato salad. The potato salad had way too much mayo for me, so I didn't eat it, but the tenderloin sandwich was delicious and crispy. I'd definitely go again to try some other things on their menu. With an afternoon to wait for my coworkers to pick me up I discovered Upland Brewing as the closest brewery and walkable. So I decided to check it out. At 2:00 pm on a Saturday afternoon the host/server greeted me promptly. He found me a good shady spot on the patio and allowed to to change my mind twice in order to find a perfect spot. I was curious about the selection of sours so asked about the cherry. The server had good take on the various sours and recommended the raspberry. I took his recommendation and glad I did and it definitely had the sour and also bold taste. Whenever I'm in Indianapolis I like to try the pork tenderloin sandwich although there was also an interesting fried chicken sandwich and a blackened salmon B.L.T. I decided on the salmon with a side of blue cheese slaw. The salmon sandwich was delicious and the slaw refreshing. As the text signaling my coworkers arrival chimed I quickly closed out my bill and left with a full and satisfied belly. They let you sample beers and will bring you some they think you might like as well, super helpful if you're not the most knowledgeable about beers! This was a great stop for us. My husband loves breweries. I love wine. We love to bring our dog with us. We love to eat. All of us were happy! Since we visited with our dog, we sat outside on their spacious patio. There were plenty of tables and chairs and it did not feel like we were banned to the outside, forgotten area. We had a very nice, attentive server who not only knew the beers (of course) but was also knowledgeable about the wines they offered. I have found that is rare at breweries and I understand why. We started with the soft pretzel. It was huge. HUGE. We ate a little over half of it. The IPA hot mustard was so good. I would love to take some of that home and slather it on a sandwich every day. My husband ordered the CV Reuben and said it was one of the best Reubens he had ever had. That's high praise coming from a guy who eats out every day of his life. Really nice brewery and restaurant in the middle of all sorts of Carmel goodness. I stopped in for dinner the other night before a performance down the street. The food selection is great and, of course, the beer selection is excellent as well. I'm a fan of the Bad Elmer stout, but other fair might be more to your liking. The staff and our waiter were all knowledgeable and friendly. Our waiter stayed attentive even though he had a lot of tables, and service was plenty quick. The food was good enough. My friend ordered the turkey club sandwich. The turkey reminded me of Shapiro's (same source?) and the bacon and veggies on the sandwich were all top notch. I had the Seitan Tenderloin. It was less good. It desperately needed some sauce, but came sauceless as was. It was drier than the Sahara! I asked for some sriracha aioli and smeared that all over the tenderloin. The tenderloin consumed the aioli like some sort of Lovecraftian monsterous growth devouring human sanity. Just soaked it right up like a sponge. I slathered SO much sauce on that seitan tenderloin. But then every time I took the bun back up, the sauce was gone. I assume it's made from some type of falafel mix. They might want to use a LOT more water in the mix. Even though the reason I came here sux, I am happy that I found the CTH. The staff were all really nice and my bartender (Dave) was really helpful. I ordered the pig and fig based on a staff recommendation and it was very good. I also asked for extra crispy fries and they accommodated my request easily. So if you're ever in the Carmel area, like to be at the hospital, and their cafeteria is closed, and your a diabetic who needs something to eat - this is a great place to grab a bite while your loved one is being assessed. read more
