This place got really popular during COVID for trading pizza for stuff instead of cash. I'm glad to see they're still around! Their spot in Essex Market always catches my eye, and today, I finally stopped in. I was craving good pizza with zero wait or attitude, and they definitely came through. The person at the counter was super nice, and when I ordered three slices, they threw in a free drink. I went with the vodka, meatball, and spicy pepperoni slices. They do Sicilian-style squares, and each one was packed with flavor. Totally hit the spot.

The pizza here is un regularly tasty. I had three slices and each was unique in their own regard. The service was great and ambiance was great also. They have a bar you can eat your slices at if eating on site.

Have been hearing the popularity and many good things about Unregular Pizza on IG lately, so decided to stop by and see what's it really about. Conveniently located inside Essex Market and right next to the F/M/J/Z trains. It's at this booth with a colorful LED sign and a marble counter in the middle of the food hall. Spot seems pretty popular with both the locals & tourists as I see that people keep stopping by to get a slice (or even two) while I'm munching on mine. Only one staff is keeping things going so props to him for preparing/cutting up the ingredients like grating the cheese as the final touch & making all the pizzas from scratch on his own. Quick service from friendly staff. Unregular Pizza accepts both cash and/or card. Ambiance wise is your typical food vendor quality in the city. But, it somehow still stands out to me because of how hungry I'm becoming, the whiff I'm getting from the delicious pizzas, and the need of something quick to munch on right away! Slices don't look too big at first glance, but then I feel stuffed by the time when I finished chowing down. They're pre-made and staff helps to heat it up for you in the oven after paying. Got both the Burrapizza Cafonata (tomato sauce, all-natural pepperoni, spicy hot honey, whole burrata, nduja spicy pork sauce - $11) & vodka pizza (mozzarella, vodka sauce, parmigiano reggiano, house garlic olive oil - $6). Prices are a little on the more expensive side but really fresh and flavorful especially the pizza sauce! Wishing that the tiny pepperonis could've been less burnt but I guess you can peel off the burnt bits. The whole burrata is so fresh + creamy plus it melts on my tongue. Might end up being messy, so I suggest you to ask for plastic utensils and lots of napkins. Would recommend this pizza spot if you're ever in the LES neighborhood/area. € ‰ ˆ

This pizza spot is in a food plaza with a bunch of diverse options so it is in a more packed location. There are only a few seats at the counter but there were no other customers. We got the meat dream size and it was very mediocre. We got our slice warmed up but it was still cold when we bit into it. They were kind enough to reheat it after asked again but the edges got burnt. The pizza itself did not have a crunch and it lacked cheese. I personally wouldn't recommend this pizza spot.

They have vegan pizza & it's delightful! All the pizza slices looked really good but I don't eat dairy so I tried this one and I loved it and I would come back and get it again. Service was friendly and fast, easy enough.

A slice of pizza for $7, a bit pricey vs other places. The portion is alright. I guess rent is high especially in Manhattan. The portion is good. I've had the mushroom one and it was good. I'd recommend you to try it out : )

This pizza spot in essex street market as in the name is anything but regular with quality unique slices being offered. Firstly the mostly offer square slices which is unique given that ny style favors the round slice. Every slice i tried was packed with quality ingredients that you could taste. The dough had a nice bite and pleasant chew. The sauce was a great balance of sweet and tart. I just wish the cheese was more melted across all the slices. My favorite was pepperoni slice with high quality sausage so crispy yet flavorful it packed a wild punch. The maragita slice had basil and pecorina cheese that added a nice extra layer of flavor.

The pizza look sooo amazing and the taste explodes in your mouth! The guy here pulling them out of the oven is attentive and the food is fresh.

Very yummy pizza with fun topping combos! The inside is quite small so it definitely a grab and go kind of place! While I didn't have any they do have vegan options, which from looking at seemed great! Like I said the food is quite good but does cost a bit more than I would usually want to pay for a singular slice.

3.5 While attending Immersive Gaming I was directed to come here for pizza. Apparently, there's supposed to be some sort of deal where people who patronize Immersive Gaming receive a 20% discount, but the employee or owner acted confused like this was unbeknownst to him. He did offer me a different discount but I had to pay in cash-- I typically never have anything but I had enough to score the two pies. The pies took six minutes, which wasn't so bad. The slices were all squares-- I thought it lacked enough cheese, but I made my way over. (I should not be did ask if I wanted it cheesy, but I said just normal). The kids enjoyed the pizza, which I thought was okay, but the crust was a little rough. I took a few slices home and actually thought it tasted better after being heated up.

Kinda expensive for a slice but it was a pretty decent one. I tried the mushroom, buffalo chicken and pepperoni slices. It was just one staff member doing everything so kudos to him. It was reheated in the pizza oven for 1-2 minutes which made the cheese all melty. My favorite slice was the mushroom pizza because mushroom toppings were plentiful and mushroom and cheese are such a good flavor combination. The buffalo chicken had small chunks of chicken cutlet along with a slightly spicy buffalo sauce and cheese. The pepperoni was probably the least impressive one out of all of them, it did have the tiny pepperoni toppings. They also sold pasta- vodka sauce and cacio e pepe (when I visited).

Pizza was delicious and hit the spot. Crust was thick and chewy, sauce ratio was right, sauce was rich, and overall slice was super flavorful. Guys seemed nice and service was quick.

The flavors were good, the portion was surprisingly filling and they have a great lunch deal for $15 fettuccine Alfredo with a topping I believe. They have some nice soda options to choose from and everything is made fresh. Even as I was there I could see them hurling in large bags of flour for the pasta they make. For a good reasonably priced fresh pasta bite I would recommend to anyone working or hanging out nearby def give them a try!

Walking in, there is a decent amount of seating and you can see them making the food fresh in front of you. I do like how small the menu is - small menu generally menus fresher food. I don't really eat dairy so just ordered the fettuccine without cheese and then chose the arrabbiata sauce. I wish they gave me a heads up about how spicy the sauce would be - my mouth was legit on fire. Food wise - I didn't love the portion sizes, I was definitely hungry after it was over and felt the texture of the pasta was softer than I'd like - probably because it's fresh. Even though I was burned this time (literally with the spice), I'd be down to come back and try another one of their sauces and even be more open minded about adding dairy since it seems like one of their specialties!

I was at this tasty Italian spot a while ago for dinner with one of my groups, where we shared a…read morebunch of dishes as per usual. The place wasn't super crowded, but there were eventually some people there. The place felt comfortable, and the service was friendly. To drink, I got the Blood Orange Negroni for $17 with Hendricks gin, Campari, sweet vermouth, fresh blood orange juice, and a slice of orange as garnish. I usually prefer Negronis that lack Campari as I find that liquor to be a bit too sweet, at least as far as amaro goes, but this was tasty and better balanced as the juice and gin helped to reduce the sweetness. I would recommend it. They gave us some fresh bread with some good olive oil to begin with, which was tasty. Our only appetizer was the $18 Fried Trio, listed as a tempting mix of crispy fried goat cheese w/ honey & chili oil, carbonara arancini, and capers croquettes. This also came with some tomato sauce for dipping, presumably primarily for the arancini. My preference of the bunch was the fried goat cheese due to the bit of funk and spice. I also liked the arancini as the texture was nice, while my least favorite were the croquettes. This was a nice mix, though perhaps a bit salty. For main dishes, we got two pastas, which were both $19, and two entrees. My favorite of the entrees easily was the Mushroom & White Truffle Lasagna with shiitake, porcini, and cremini blend of mushrooms, béchamel sauce, truffle ricotta, and fresh mozzarella on top. Many lesser spots would mix all these things and make the dish a bit too earthy or almost perfumy from the truffle and mushroom flavor, but not this one. There was just enough of the béchamel and cheese that it was pretty balanced. The pasta texture was nice also. This was rich but delicious, and easily worth the price. I wasn't as big a fan, though that is more because of a caveat, of the Hot Rigatoni Vodka With Guanciale & Sausage, listed as rigatoni pasta in a creamy, spicy vodka sauce, paired with rich guanciale and spicy sausage. I generally prefer guanciale in dishes like pasta alla gricia rather than in already spicier tomato sauces, as I tend to find that the flavor doesn't shine through as much. Otherwise, the pasta was cooked perfectly, and there was plenty of meat inside. We liked both of the mains also. A slight preference goes to the Flounder a la Francese for $26, with lightly battered flounder pan-fried to golden perfection and finished with a delicate white wine and lemon butter sauce. It was a large piece of fish, and it was indeed tender with a light batter. There were plenty of capers, but it wasn't too salty, and the bit of pasta on the side was perfectly cooked as well. I would recommend this. Our last entree was the $34 Short Ribs With Polenta, consisting of tender, slow-braised short ribs over a creamy bed of polenta. The texture of the polenta was nice, and the short ribs were indeed tender, but not too fatty. This was the plainest of the entrees, but it was still tasty. This was a tasty Italian spot with quality food at reasonable prices. I would definitely go back.

There were only two other tables with guests in the restaurant. The service was super quick. I got the pulled pork tortellini; the tangy, butter sauce was really good, but the tortellini portion was small. I preferred the rigatoni that my husband got. The bread that they bring to the table was fresh and delicious. I would come here again.

Was also thoughtful in handing us our orders correctly which was nice. For the food itself I heard good things and was hoping to love it more-- but I think I was slightly disappointed. The flavors aren't so bad overall and if you have a pasta itch it'll scratch. But I've tried other places better at a similar or even cheaper price point with protein added in. I got the "some like it hot" while my friend got "midnight desire" with burrata added in. I paid about 22 for each dish. Now for my thoughts - flavor for "some like it hot" was not bad, sauce was a slight bit watery for my liking. The spice was nice and I liked that part the most. Pasta was "OK". The ravioli was stuck together for some, filling was adequate but, I would've liked a little more. I don't want to sound harsh, but it was all around just an ok spot. Maybe it was just that day. Burrata added is nice, I took mine to go do sadly it was melted on top (recommend to pack the burrata separately for to go orders) - "midnight desire" is basically vodka and the flavor for this one was kind of odd for me. Not the normal vodka I am used to. I personally wouldn't really get it again. It wasn't a bad sauce, just not like vodka I know. Had a slight "bitter(?)" aftertaste from some seasoning I guess. I'm not a pasta connoisseur but I AM Italian and I've tasted a wide ranger of pastas lol-- I think yummy cheese pasta in Hell's Kitchen offers a similar concept, portion but is more filling, diverse options for adding and overall, slightly cheaper. Perhaps I'll give this place another try on another day..
