I tasked myself with finding a nearby place with vegan options, since there was another vegan in my party (in our party of four), and I didn't want to belabor over veganizing XYZ on our short lunch break. Uno Mas had Vegan Tacos listed on the menu and the two omnivores were okay with tacos, so we undertook the brisk walk here to grab a quick lunch. We arrived a bit after the peak lunch hour, so it felt somewhat empty, which was fine by me. The restaurant seemed fairly festively decorated with a couple of TVs, which I'm sure come in handy during popular televised sporting events. The complimentary chips and salsa were lovely, in that I distinctly remember enjoy the salsa, which isn't always the case, hah! Our food quickly arrived and I eagerly scarfed down a very basic but very delicious taco. The server advised that the rice was not vegan, so I opted for two black bean sides. The other vegan in my party commented that he thoroughly enjoyed his plate, and the two omnivores were similarly content with their choices. Given that we had to head back to work, we sadly were not able to imbibe in the margaritas, womp womp! But overall was quite pleased with our experience here. Dined at the bar, Sean was very friendly and helpful with all my food questions. It's hard to make decisions as a foodie! I ended up ordering the Field Greens Salad + Steak ($4). The veggies were all super fresh and I got a side of both dressing options, equally delicious. Complimentary (with food order) chips and salsa were tasty. The menu had a lot of good options, the staff was incredibly friendly and seemed happy to be there, I enjoyed the music, there was a variety of seating options-- inside tables, bar seats and an outside upstairs patio additionally there were decorative Christmas lights, corn hole/bags out front & a variety of sports on TV. It was a very thin layer of cheese so it was hard and difficult to even scrape out of the dish. We had the Al pastor tacos, chicken enchiladas. Both delicious! Chicken tacos were really good. Justin (our server) and Michelle (the manager) made this visit so great!!!! i went on a first date and it was the best vibe they were so sweet and accommodating. We ordered charro tacos and chicken enchiladas. The charro tacos were great but the chipotle aioli is quiet spicy so I had to take most of it off. The charro beans tasted like northern chili so 0 out of 10. The rice was 8 out of 10. Elote 10 out of 10. Enchiladas 7.5 out of 10. The pineapple guacamole 8.5 out of 10. Walked into restaurant and greeter behind podium must of thought I was staff as he sat behind the podium watching videos on an iPad and laughing. He apologized when he realized I was a customer and sat me. The waitress was very nice. She suggested an entree that was like a tasting menu. Had a taco, enchilada, quail legs and rice and beans. I ordered a CoronaRita which apparently that's an east coast thing. Here they call it margarita with a cerveza. Doesn't quite roll of the tongue the same. It was way too sour and over powered the drink. I was able to drink half. The complimentary salsa and chips were ok. Chips were good and you could tell home made. The salsa was mediocre at best. The meal came and I asked what they had for house made hot sauces if any. She brought me a menu with about 6-7 on there. She suggested the tomatillo salsa which was served warm and had a good taste and no heat. I asked for their habanero hot sauce they make and it was basically the heat of Cholula. I then picked up the small bowl and chugged it. Very disappointing. The quality leg was ok. The taco I had switched the puffy fried taco shell to a corn tortilla. It had ground Hamburg and cheese that wasn't even melted. Taste was ok but not worth ordering again. The chicken enchilada was bland and the tortilla was just the vessel. Served cold and had no color from any type of cooking. Guacamole was decent and rice was average at best. I asked the waitress if this was a chain restaurant as that's what I would expect with the flavors. She said it wasn't and the owner had another one too. She then commented she doesn't even like the food. So that speaks volumes. read more
