This is one of my favorite hidden gems just off of lower Greenville . The restaurant is decorated so beautifully and very nice and clean ! You can never go wrong with the brisket nachos / so much flavor and enough if you're not wanting to eat too much .. but the entire menu has a great selection of different dishes with amazing flavors !!! I don't know if it was happy hour but the huge glass of prosecco ( that was extremely chilled ) and taste so good with my nachos was pure perfection.. Service is always top notch and the wait staff are all accommodating and very friendly when returning to the restaurant ! Delicious! The restaurant is tucked in the intersection of Ross and Greenville ave. Once entering the interior was well fashioned and inviting. Its presentation prepares you for the beautiful presentation of their food. Theresa welcomed us and had us seated quickly. They gave us extra time to look through the menu and we ended up getting the Frida and Vampiro Nacho for our drinks. The drinks were extra fresh, fruity and quite strong. The ceviche is hands down the best I've had from a restaurant! It was creamy and fresh and the presentation was beautiful with a ton of edible flowers. #girlyceviche Our plates were very good and once again fresh but was hard to compare to our delicious appetizer and drinks! Stopped by Taquero after work and had a great experience. The vibe is super chill but stylish, a great spot to unwind. I ordered a spicy margarita and it was excellent, refreshing with just the right amount of kick. They brought out complimentary chips and salsa, which were a nice surprise and really tasty. From the outside it is very small looking, but this is such the deception because they have outdoor seating that is air-conditioned outdoor seating on a patio and they have an indoor area, the food was absolutely amazing and my server did a really good job and making sure that we had great food that was authentic. Just when you thought she forgot about you, she appeared out of nowhere with exactly what you requested! The restaurant is very small but these folks make it work! They utilize every square inch magically! The nachos were hefty. Could've been an entree. Not bad for $13. The asado de boda did me right. The sauce isn't as spicy as it looks and the pork????...girl FORK TENDUH! It comes with tortillas so you can make your own tacos or you can be a weirdo like me and take a bite of tortilla after every bite of pork! At $16-$20 a pop the drinks could have a little more alcohol in them, but I get it, they want us to drive home safely lol. That was an easy fix. We just ordered another shot!. I strongly recommend the Mr. Rodriguez! I'm an avocado lover, but you really don't taste it in the drink. Not overly sweet where it would have my stomach in knots upon completion. The restaurant is deceptively larger than it looks from the outside. In addition to a few tables completely outside, there is also a nice patio "inside the tent", with portable AC if needed. Nice vibe. Food was great. Complimentary chips were very good, just the right amount of thickness and crunch, and 3 sauces were all nice. All of us loved our food, and portions were Dallas generous. Unfortunately someone at the restaurant fraudulently added a $2 tip to my carry-out/takeout order and that is the sole reason I cannot recommend Taquero. The molé chicken enchiladas were a 3.5 out of 5 due to the over sweetness of the sauce. Let me start by saying that this unsuspecting place delivered both in quantity and quality of the food items we ordered. We came in when they weren't super busy. It was late afternoon but we wanted to grab an early dinner before heading to the hockey game. Our waitress was very pleasant. The restaurant was brightly lit and kept clean. We ordered some cocktails while we peruse the menu. My husband had the Frida which I tasted and ended up ordering as well because it was quite good. I ordered the lechon which was tender and wonderfully braised pork loin over cherry tomatoes, red onion, corn, Mexican squash, Serrano peppers, panela cheese, green rice and then covered with mole negro and served with some corn tortillas. So good and the serving was huge! I could not finish it but the food heated up really well the next day! My husband got the mole rojo served with red rice and pento beans and enjoyed every bite of his dish as well. Our experience here was both delicious and fantastic. Came here on a Saturday night with friends and wow were we impressed. Called ahead to make a reservation which I would recommend doing as it got a little busy during peak times. There is an interior, covered exterior and outside open air patio to sit on. It does get slightly noisy inside but nothing unbearable. There's a few seats at the bar as well. We ordered two drinks - the Ross night and rusa 45. Both were amazing ($14) and there was an extensive list of other cocktails that we definitely need to try. The Ross night had crushed raspberries in it and fruit on top. Must order for appetizers was the Oaxaca and prehistorico, which was the queso and bone marrow (respectively). The queso was truly one of the best queso I've had with brisket and corn inside and came with a side of chips. Bone marrow also one of the best, which comes with tortillas and a sauce and some red onions. There is also complimentary chips and three types of salsa for the table. For entrees, the mole, red snapper taco and chicken were all delicious. We didn't have room left in our stomach to try dessert but I'll definitely be back to dine here again! Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 2 PM. Haven't been here for a while since they opened. The last time we came here, they didn't have their liquor license yet. It seems like they've changed quite a bit since our last visit. They've redone their entire menu and changed their table salsas. They've added a covered patio as well as extended the space with a glass room. The patio is pet friendly. The glass room provides a nice in-between space of a patio and inside. The glass room had a nice ambience very light, but not too warm on a warm day. Table chips are on the thicker side, but definitely made in-house. Not much salt on the chips. Tables salsas are each unique & have a nice flavor, ranging from mild, medium, and spicy. Oaxaca - Very thick & creamy. Very tasty. I typically don't care for charred corn, but the creaminess of the queso helps balances it. Ross Margarita - My husband is particular on his margaritas, so we typically test out a restaurant's margarita as a base. Pretty good. Very well balanced - Not too sweet. Good flavor. Good strength. Oh Bonita - Very strawberry forward. Very creamy. It's like drinking a strawberry milkshake that isn't too sweet, but still sweet. Like a fun summery Mexican twist on an American strawberry milkshake. I would definitely recommend this one. Carmen Tacos - Generous scoop of guacamole. Guacamole was pretty standard with a slight hint of spice. Cilantro lime rice is nice and fluffy with evident cilantro lime flavor. Quesadilla Campechana - Another generous scoop of guacamole. Pico was heavy on the onion then I typically like my pico. My husband had the opposite comment of it having more tomato than he likes, so I guess by both of those comments, it's well balanced. An aquaintance goes to Taquero often, and as he is a foodie, I took note. My husband and I went with another couple last night on an early reservation and enjoyed so much I can't wait to go back. Small space, but very well designed and not crowded. Great service. Easy to park behind/adjacent in an area that otherwise is difficult to park or must valet. Now for the food: Oaxaca queso was like none that I've had before - so delicious and rich. Ideal to have four sharing because it is so rich. I ordered the Pozolillo De Elote soup and Bonita salad adding the fish (red snapper) - way too much food. The soup after the queso and the El Vampiro Nacho cocktail was enough. I took the salad home, which required TWO to-go containers. Very, very good and nice, unique combo of foods: pecans, beets, apple slices, avocado, arugula, etc. The value for the fresh food, original menu was much appreciated. i spend a lot of time in the lower greenville area, and i try to find the places with the best veggie options. i usually opt for mexican or tex-mex because you have a lot of veg options. i wanted to love this place soooooo bad. the staff are so sweet and friendly, the decor is lovely, and there is great natural lighting. while everything looks absolutely beautiful, the flavor balance, was quite lackluster. i was really excited because it boasts of authentic mexican cuisine.. but the flavor profiles gave nothing of the sort. in addition, i don't think there was any alcohol in my drink maybe i will give it another try some day, but dining out is so very expensive to leave unsatisfied read more

We got: Tiradito: we've had multiple itirations of this dish from other places and this was very much lacking in acidity. The scallops were fresh but no flavor Chicken taco: chicken was dry. Everything was dry Shrimp taco: pretty good. Did not justify the price. I like the dollop of rice it came with Steak quesadilla: steak was dry and unremarkable Chips and salsa: I like the green sauce it was delicious. Chips were great! We absolutely love this spot we discovered recently. The food is amazing and the staff is very accommodating. Starting with the drinks: the Ross Night and Rusa 45 both were fruity and tasty, and they looked super impressive. For apps we got the Oaxaca queso and Prehispanico Bone marrow. The queso was propabably the best I've ever had, super thick and filled with brisket. The bone marrow was super juicy and flavorful. Also got the Mazatlan fish taco and La Condesa Chicken. Giving a 4 and will return once I've tried more of the food. We just had the salsa and chips with one appetizer as we were in a rush to go meet with friends. The two cocktails we got were okay. The sangria margarita tasted more like a red wine. And the sweet strawberry one with condensed milk tasted like a melted strawberry ice cream with vodka. Not bad but maybe needs a little tweaking to the recipe. We had the Del Mar a Tu Boca. Presentation was exceptional but it did just taste like a shrimp cocktail, a really good one My favorite Salsa was the red one or the tomatoe one.
