Service was excellent and so was the food! When you are seated, you get free chips and three salsas. The drinks are unique but I wish they were a tad stronger! Overall we had a great experience and we are definitely coming back. :)

Delicious! The restaurant is tucked in the intersection of Ross and Greenville ave. Once entering the interior was well fashioned and inviting. Its presentation prepares you for the beautiful presentation of their food. Theresa welcomed us and had us seated quickly. They gave us extra time to look through the menu and we ended up getting the Frida and Vampiro Nacho for our drinks. The drinks were extra fresh, fruity and quite strong. The ceviche is hands down the best I've had from a restaurant! It was creamy and fresh and the presentation was beautiful with a ton of edible flowers. #girlyceviche Our plates were very good and once again fresh but was hard to compare to our delicious appetizer and drinks! Definitely coming again to try out the rest of their unique drinks and more ceviche!

Great service-- cannot stress that enough. Was easily persuaded to get the margarita! The mile verde was also swell and paired well with the drink. Fellow friends agreed that the vibe was great! Need to try other fun drinks. Cheers!

I found this super dope Mondern-Mex place that I absolutely fell in love with while in Dallas. The service was amazing, food packed major flavor, the vibe was nice, I mean, all around super solid. 5/5 for me, and trust me, I've been to some good spots, I don't throw those out there lightly. Check it out. Lechón - Slow cooked, tender Pork Loin, Quelites, Roasted Cherries Tomatoes, Red Onion, Corn, Mexican Squash, Seared Serrano Peppers, topped off with Mole Negro and a side of Fresh Corn Tortillas, yooooo Must try for me. Aguachile Tulum - Light, simple, but amazing! Octopus, Cucumber, Red Onion, Lime Juice, Avocado, Micro Cilantro, Mango and Serrano Peppers. Absolutely delicious! Another must order, for real. Guac-Guac - Serrano Peppers, Habeneros, Fresh Avocados, Lime Juice and Queso Ranchero. Amazing, and I say that because it's better than your average, promise. Complimentary Chips and Salsas - Housemade Tortilla Chips, 3 Salsas, Green, Red and Roasted. All really good, especially on the food. If you're in the Dallas area, check em out, I promise you won't regret it. Enjoy!

I just want to say that this place blew me away. From the outside it is very small looking, but this is such the deception because they have outdoor seating that is air-conditioned outdoor seating on a patio and they have an indoor area, the food was absolutely amazing and my server did a really good job and making sure that we had great food that was authentic. I will definitely be returning here, please do not hesitate to try the drinks as well. Everything here was just delicious.

Food and service was fantastic. We didn't know how to choose from our mole sauces, so got to try them to decide. Couldn't have gone wrong with any of them. Flavor profiles were sophisticated and the volcan (basically a big boiling bowl of fajitas) was just amazing. The vibe was great, since you can actually hold a conversation. Love it!

Asado de Boda-$25. Steamed pork on a rich, spicy sauce! yum!

I pass this place frequently while out and about running errands. Zaddy was in town and I always know what he wants.... TACOS! (I've converted a yankee, yall ;-) ) Moderately busy that early Saturday evening. Our waitress with the cool red colored hair was a gem. Just when you thought she forgot about you, she appeared out of nowhere with exactly what you requested! The restaurant is very small but these folks make it work! They utilize every square inch magically! The nachos were hefty. Could've been an entree. Not bad for $13. The asado de boda did me right. The sauce isn't as spicy as it looks and the pork????...girl FORK TENDUH! It comes with tortillas so you can make your own tacos or you can be a weirdo like me and take a bite of tortilla after every bite of pork! At $16-$20 a pop the drinks could have a little more alcohol in them, but I get it, they want us to drive home safely lol. That was an easy fix. We just ordered another shot!. I strongly recommend the Mr. Rodriguez! I'm an avocado lover, but you really don't taste it in the drink. Not overly sweet where it would have my stomach in knots upon completion. I asked all my fellow yelpers to stop "just driving by" this place. Walk in and treat bae, the fam, or just yourself!

We happen to look for some Mexican brunch options and decided to give this restaurant a try. It was the best decision worth the drive from Irving. This was like finding a jewel in the sand. Can't get over with the flavors of their salsas! Salsas are the soul of Mexican food is what I feel! Exceptional service!!! Beautifully plated with fresh ingredients. Their portions are of decent sizes. They have a full bar with both indoor and covered outdoor patio seating, offering a quaint dining experience. If anyone looking for authentic Mexican cuisine taquero is the place to go!! I highly recommend this!

Let me start by saying that this unsuspecting place delivered both in quantity and quality of the food items we ordered. We came in when they weren't super busy. It was late afternoon but we wanted to grab an early dinner before heading to the hockey game. Our waitress was very pleasant. The restaurant was brightly lit and kept clean. We ordered some cocktails while we peruse the menu. My husband had the Frida which I tasted and ended up ordering as well because it was quite good. I ordered the lechon which was tender and wonderfully braised pork loin over cherry tomatoes, red onion, corn, Mexican squash, Serrano peppers, panela cheese, green rice and then covered with mole negro and served with some corn tortillas. So good and the serving was huge! I could not finish it but the food heated up really well the next day! My husband got the mole rojo served with red rice and pento beans and enjoyed every bite of his dish as well. Our experience here was both delicious and fantastic. If I am ever back in Dallas, I will be sure to stop in!

First and foremost, there is limited parking in the back and they do offer valet! As we were walking in, we were immediately greeted and offered a table! Great energy and light music made for a great welcoming! Looking at the menu, nothing jumped out at us at first. We debated on going elsewhere but figured we'd give it a try; so glad that we did! We started with the beef nachos that knocked it out of the park! The red cabbage Mexican slaw was a perfect pairing with the nachos! Great way to start off the meal experience! We then got the Carmen and the Brazeros! The Carmen had shrimp, queso asadero, toreados, mexican coleslaw, guacamole, salsa toro, green rice and each item in their own was flavorful and delicious, all together, mmmmmmmmm! The Brazeros were Four potato crispy tacos, mexican coleslaw, red onion, crema fina, panela cheese, salsa brava and were perfectly cooked! Crispy outside and perfectly mixed and melted filling with the cream fina on top! There was no way to not dive into dessert after three great dishes that we decided to get both desserts to try! Best decision of the day! The EL MEXICANO: Mexican flan, frutos rojos; was the perfect consistency and sweetness! The PASTEL DE ELOTE: Fresh corn, fruit, rompope; was served warm and delicious perfect soaked in rompope without being too soft! Great texture and warm, sweet, and savory! Will be back again and most definitely stop in and enjoy!!!

Are kids ok to bring into the restaurant? Is there a kids menu?

Hi there, of course! We don’t have a kid’s menu, but there are some options (off the menu) for them.

Can anyone look at their bill and let me know if they charge extra to 'shake' your drinks?

    No, we don’t. ¡Saludos! 😊

Here in Texas, chips and salsa are such a commonplace experience it's off-putting to pay for them. We ordered the guacamole and the chips and salsa come with it, so that was, I guess, better...but the guacamole was $16, so there's that. The salsa was tasty as was the guacamole, but again, for the portion it's really not worth it. We had the queso flameado, which was yummy and the flour tortillas are good! We split the sirloin and were underwhelmed. For a grilled meats place the steak was very under seasoned and wasn't giving us fresh hot grilled vibes. Meh at best, as were the rice and beans. We ordered elote as a side and it was really the best thing we ate. Service was friendly and efficient! Cocktails average $16ish. Again, for the prices we expected better.

Chris our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. He took his time walking us through the menu and explaining what made El Carlos Elegante so special. The drinks were perfect. My wife loved her Desert Flor while I thoroughly enjoyed my Modelo Micheleda. Her Surf and Turf one hitter was exceptional. I have to say my Crab Cake was just ok. It tasted a little pasty and very heavy on the bread. The Pulpo was absolutely amazing. Perfect texture and the sauce it was served almost had me licking the plate. The El Machete was incredible from its presentation, to the freshness of the corn tortilla, to the quality of the meat inside. Definitely recommend this. We really liked our Okra + Shishito course, we just wished it had more okra in it. The two things I loved about the Al Pastor was of course the sauce it was served on but the fact that I got to enjoy it like a steak. It was served sliced on a bias like flank steak. Typically Al Pastor is finely chopped and served in tacos and burritos, so this was a different eating experience for me. And of course it was delicious as well. We cannot wait to come back and try more of the menu.

I was genuinely excited to bring my friend here for her birthday after such an incredible…read moreexperience back in December. That visit checked every box -- the food, service, ambiance, and overall hospitality were all exceptional. What really stood out to me then was the attention to detail. I had casually mentioned that one of my cocktails wasn't quite my taste, and Harry personally reached out afterward to say they'd gladly adjust it next time. That kind of thoughtful follow-up leaves a lasting impression and is exactly the sort of hospitality that elevates a restaurant experience. Unfortunately, this recent visit felt like a completely different restaurant. We decided to do a combination of à la carte dishes along with the Experience menu after being told this version would feature entirely off-menu items, which genuinely intrigued us since Ihad also done the Experience previously. At the start of dinner, we were asked about allergies and dietary restrictions. I clearly explained that I have a mango allergy and do not eat beef. Our server then asked whether I ate other meats, and I clarified yes -- and even specifically mentioned that if the machete dish was beef, please still include it because my friend could enjoy it and I really wanted her to try it. He confirmed it would be the sirloin version, so we happily agreed not to modify that course. So imagine our surprise when one of the first dishes arrived dressed with a mango vinaigrette. Thankfully, we barely caught him quietly mentioning "mango" as he set it down. We immediately looked at each other thinking, "Didn't we just discuss the allergy?" It was disappointing, but unfortunately also representative of the overall service throughout the evening. Our server seemed disengaged, inattentive, and often not fully listening. Empty glasses sat untouched, opportunities to order additional items were missed, and at one point we were simply handed the check without even being asked if we wanted anything else. We also ordered a bottle of sparkling wine and ended up pouring it ourselves for most of the evening because our glasses were rarely refilled. I completely understand not leaving the bottle tableside if walkway space is limited, but repeatedly needing to get up ourselves to retrieve it felt out of sync with the level of service one expects from a Michelin-recommended restaurant -- especially at this price point. Then came the machete dish. Instead of the sirloin version we specifically discussed, we received the vegetarian potato version. When the server asked how it looked, I politely explained that we were disappointed because he had specifically told us it would be the sirloin preparation. At minimum, I would have expected another protein substitution given the earlier conversation about what I could eat. I'm also still unclear whether the Experience menu was truly "off-menu" as described, since several dishes -- including the halibut -- appeared familiar. Had that been communicated differently, we likely would have skipped the Experience altogether and simply curated our own meal. At the end of the night, spending over $500 while pouring our own wine, nearly being served an allergen we explicitly disclosed, and receiving dishes different from what was promised made for a deeply disappointing experience -- especially after such a phenomenal first visit. It honestly felt sad more than anything because I know how wonderful this restaurant can be. I'm not sure what changed in the last five months, but the difference was significant.
