I'm highly impressed with the work that Cortland has done for my pool so far. For the last several years I've had the same company coming out and servicing my pool. However just recently at the start of the summer my pool started turning dark and nasty. Out of all the companies I've worked with no one told us that the pool needed to be drained every 5 years. Who would have thought? It's no wonder that we've always had so many issues. After a year of good service, the past three months have been a steuggle and some of the most disappointing professional service I have ever received. At this very moment, I cannot get someone to return messages, emails or texts. My pool hasn't been serviced in 2 weeks and they took my nonworking vacuum the last time and have never returned it nor given me an update. I made a mistake and tried to "winterize" our pool and didn't really think about how that wouldn't work here in San Diego the way it did in Indiana. Long story short, with the rain this season, my pool ended up full and so green. With no hope of shocking it back, university pools came quickly, gave us a great quote and drained our pool and acid washed it. I have never seen it look this good. I would like to give University Pools a 0!! Cortland started out great for the first year. Over the last few months I have had nothing but trouble getting a hold of anyone. I paid to have a Jandy valve repaired but they tried to trick us and only put a new top piece on. I paid $200 for a repair that was never done. When I did finally get a hold of Cortland after 2 months he said he'd be right out to fix it.....that was almost 3 weeks and they are currently 2 weeks behind on my pool service. They came to install a new pool pump for our pool and was personable and knowledgeable. The main guy who lead the crew gave me and my friend some good tips to maintain our pool. They even gave us some tips on how to keep the pool clean and free from antibacterial which was very helpful. I would rate them higher but they are not really to consistent with their appointment times. I understand but there is still no excuse. read more

I've had University Pools work on my pool as far as weekly cleaning up to the replacement of a pool pump and they were great. Like clockwork as far as pool cleaning and if there was ever an issue (rare) I would get an email ahead of time to let me know. I had maintained my pool since I installed it but last winter I lost control of the pool. Algae took over and coated the pebbletek an I thought it was ruined. Called Cortland from here and we drained and acid washed it in June. It is just beautiful now. He installed a variable speed pump too. He now is my pool guy.
