One thing we loved is that it's a small, hands-on team. You're not passed around between a salesperson and different crews -- the same people who design your pool are involved the whole way through. The 3D rendering they did was beautiful and really helped us feel confident before starting. They handled permits, excavation, and delivery smoothly, and always kept us updated. I got a request out for quotes and while I was waiting for reply, I was able to clean the gunk out of the impeller and the pump was working fine again with only a small leak, so I thought I would live with it for a few more months. Glenn at Cherry Pool Service quoted me good remove and replace quote and was willing to complete the work next day. I decided to abandon the old pump after all and proceed with Glenn. He notified me of his arrival time 30 minutes before actual arrival, he installed the new pump and piping in about an hour, he vacuumed up the pvc detritus around the pump, and left me with a brand new pool pump that should last us another ten plus years with any luck, and his price was lower than others quoted, so all in all a win win that should prevent any water damage from a slightly leaking pool pump that we replaced. It's hard nowadays to find an honest business, but I can truly say that Glenn might be the most honest pool guy I've ever dealt with. I called him last week to ask about my Pentair MasterTemp 250 heater that stopped working, and after describing the symptoms (no lights coming on, membrane pad unresponsive, etc.), Glenn explained that it sounds like the control board went bad, which it did, and that I could easily replace it myself (plug and play) with a Pentair board from Amazon, and save myself the money that he would charge to install it. Glenn resurfaced our condo association's spa beautifully and brought it up to code. He had to work with some challenging personalities. His bid was the lowest and his Yelp reviews were the highest, so the decision to hire him was a No Brainer". I am particularly impressed with his business ethics. After he got paid, a problem arose and Glenn wanted to ensure that it was taken care of, even if it wasn't his fault. (It wasn't.) He found and scheduled a primo forensic leak detector and even came back to witness said detective's work for a few hours (unpaid and on a Saturday). There was some debate as to who should pay for the repair. It was so important to Glenn that our association be happy that he decided to pay the detective himself first, and worry about getting reimbursed later. Talk about the wow factor. I was a bit frustrated with his delay in returning texts at times. His competitive pricing, the quality of his work, and most importantly his business ethics, however, far outweigh that and I strongly recommend him without any hesitation. read more

We used Glenn at Cherry Pool Services to install pool automation at our new house--it was pretty involved, with routing of electrical conduit along the roof, connection to our pool solar system, new valves and pipes, etc. The final installation of the pool automation was fine--he did a good job and everything worked well. He also did some additional work in the following months, including installing a new filter, spa light and replacing a pool heater thermostat. We paid him over $7100 total. However, as time went on, it became more difficult to get Glenn to answer questions and help us with issues that arose. We understand that he's a one-person operation, but he was less and less responsive. At one point I asked him directly if he still wanted to work with us, and he said yes, but his actions don't support that. The main board on the Jandy iAqualink system went out in October--it was covered under warranty, but Glenn had to come out to verify the board was not working. That took a few days for him to come to the house, and then Jandy sent someone else out to swap out the main board. But after the swap, he didn't come out to set up the system the way it was before. We had to text back and forth a lot to get answers, and some things still aren't quite right. After that, we've had a couple questions/issues, and he's just not responding anymore. So I guess we have to find a new company to service our pool automation, which is not good, because Glenn knows all the changes he made to our valves, pipes and Jandy system with the initial automation setup. I didn't want to write this review, because Glenn seems like a good guy, and a nice guy, but we're feeling left high and dry right now. It's an unfortunate situation. Update 1/15/23: Thanks for the response, Glenn. Just to clarify a few items: 1. I understand that the holidays are busy and people get sick. All you had to do was say so instead of just ignoring my attempts to contact you. But I don't think that's really the issue here. 2. Yes, we are new pool owners. After you did the initial installation of the Jandy iAqualink system, we asked if we could pick your brain about pool chemicals and other routine maintenance. You graciously answered all our questions. Since then, we have take care of the weekly maintenance with no problem, and we haven't really asked you about that since the initial discussion. 3. Pretty much all of the follow-up questions we've had have been in relation to equipment you've installed. Examples: --After you finished the iAqualink install around April 25, the pool vacuum wasn't working. You recommended a Vac Mate accessory--I purchased that on April 28, and again, you came out and graciously set it up for free. --In June, you recommended a new filter, for which we paid $1350. We did have some follow-up questions about the filter, which I don't think is unreasonable. --In October, the iAqualink system stopped working and all of the LEDs were red. I contacted you and you suggested various things, such as rebooting the system and resetting the electrical breaker. That didn't work, so I ended up calling Jandy tech support, and they said the main board was probably bad and would need to be replaced. However, they said that you needed to come out first and verify that before they would replace it under warranty. I do appreciate you contacting your Jandy rep to expedite the warranty service. Jandy sent a tech from another pool company to do the actual install of the new board, but he didn't know how you had the system set up before the board failed, and he said we'd need to contact you. There were a lot of texts back and forth to try to get the system back to the way it was. One example is that our fountains on the side of the pool were just dribbling after the new board was installed. The fountains still don't work. We did have an issue unrelated to the equipment you installed. The thermostat for the pool heater failed and you replaced it in August for $230. In regards to all the piping and valves you installed, you are the only person that really knows what you did. So if we have an issue or question with that going forward, we have to hope that someone else can figure out what you did. I guess I was under the impression that you would stand by your installation for a reasonable period of time. Shame on me for not asking that specific question, but I think you could have made it clear that all you did was the installation, and we were on our own after that. That being said, I don't think it's unreasonable to ask for your assistance, after a major failure of the system, to get the system set up again the way it was before. In any event, as you suggested, we'll be looking for a company to deal with any future issues we may have with the equipment you installed. Jandy has recommended other companies in the area who can service the iAqualink system, including any other warranty issues. read more

I had Glenn automate our pool and jacuzzi with Pentair equipment. I had made a request for snapshots of how to operate, which he assured I would receive by email January 2023. I've left several messages and texts with no response from Glenn. He had recommended Hugo for concrete slab who only accepts cash. I paid $5000.00 and had new fence/gate installed. Hugo cut the bottom portion of my hate. Fortunately my fence installer would repair at no cost as I've been doing business for years. read more

While we didnt get the Pentair model we had hoped for, that was a global supply chain issue, and not the fault of Glenn in any way.
