The Scan: It was done with makeup on which was mistake one. It said I had medium/dark skin that…read moreisn't sensitive to sun, based on my brown eyeshadow. It also said I'm 92% oily but I was wearing beef tallow on my face after working all day to help my dry skin (that has been dry my whole life). Any well trained esthetician would be able to see that the scan was inaccurate. They also didn't ask any questions about current products or skin history to verify whether the scan was accurate or not. They based my treatment on the scan which may or may not be the cause of the issue I ended up with. Treatment: good treatment overall but nothing to compare it to since this was my first Korean facial. My skin had a nice glow afterward. The staff was nice so no complaints there. The products weren't clearly explained and I didn't receive any info about them which was another red flag. Post: 3 days after my treatment I developed dermatitis, as seen in pictures and determined by my dermatologist. It's unclear what caused the dermatitis. Post one week: skin has healed mostly with some redness still around my mouth. No scarring. The staff saw my original review and was very concerned and called me. I admit I should have contacted them first prior to the review. They talked to me at length and asked many questions and they did truly seem to care and want to make it right. They did say that they are tightening procedures and the makeup should have been cleaned off first and said they should have asked about current products. This is something they said they normally do but didn't that day. They had concern about the beef tallow but I didnt use any after the facial, just the products they recommended (and I purchased from them). I don't think that was the cause. They offered another facial (very gentle and healing) and my money back which I appreciate considering I paid $100 for a derm appointment and antibiotics. I haven't taken their offer yet but I do think they were genuinely surprised and caring during the process so I'm changing my review from 1 star to 3.

It feels like they use even nicer products when booking direct, which I've really noticed in the results. The facility is always very clean and relaxing, the products feel high quality, and the facial massage is amazing -- one of my favorite parts. Service has consistently been great every visit, and I always leave feeling refreshed. Overall, a wonderful experience every time and definitely a place I keep coming back to.

I reached Mirako Spa in Brea for my facial appointment exactly 3 mins late. A lady who told me that…read moremy appointment was at 2:30pm. (I have attached text messages that my appointment was at 2:45pm). Upon showing the text message, she agreed that I was late by 3 mins. (+ 5 mins grace period). I was informed right away that I need to reschedule as I was late or cut down my facial time from 60mins to 40 mins. I should have arrived 15 mins before the appointment time. Therefore, my showing up delayed by 3 mins would delay the next client by 15 mins as they needed time to prepare for the next client! Math doesn't add up any way we look at it unless they had informed in advance to show up 15 mins before the appointment time, which they hadn't. 1. There was absolutely no notification or instruction provided to me about arriving 15 mins early before the appointment time at the time of making my appointment or text reminder. Therefore if one is late by less than. 10 mins, they lose their facial time by 20mins and are lashed out if clients try to reason out. I was told me to depart as I was 3 mins late or reduce my facial time by 20 mins. 2. Jenny, who came over from inside took over the conversation, was very unprofessional and rude. She argued with me for 15 mins non-stop when I tried to reason out that if I was late by 3 mins, if they wanted to be a stickler of time without informing me to arrive 15 mins early, they should take away 3 mins of my time not, 20 mins. She yelled at me saying "I don't want you to come here ever, I never want to give you service!". I don't understand how Mirako Spa even employs such people who are clueless about how to treat clients with courtesy, let alone working in a service industry. Here is the twist: when I checked in, another lady besides Jenny told me that my appointment was at 2:30pm, which their mistake to begin with as my appointment was at 2:45pm. It appears that they messed up with their own scheduling but because I was 3 mins late for my 2:45 appt, I bore the brunt of Jenny's unprofessional behavior as she couldn't admit that they had accidentally messed up scheduling my appointment. Instead she told me to leave or get a facial cut down by 20mins! I am attaching screenshots of my appointment time. As per Jenny, I should have a common sense to show up 15 mins before appointment time even though I wasn't informed about arriving early or else, appt that was anyway scheduled incorrectly by 15 mins sooner, from what I was notified. Try to avoid Jenny if you go to Mirako Spa in Brea, she can be scathing, unreasonable, and unprofessional. Try to reach 15 mins prior to your appointment even if they don't notify you.

I am loving Unity Salon! I have been seeing Shelby for quite a few months now and am over the moon with her work. I switched from my old hair stylist of 5 years due to lack of up keep with the different trends and techniques and am so happy to have found someone with lots of knowledge. I myself have very long and thick, wavy hair which can be a nightmare to highlight. The way Shelby highlights and blends my hair seamlessly is so beautiful. I receive compliments often of how natural it looks. She also has done my hair for some events both up-dos and blowouts and both have been fabulous. I feel she knows best and really exceeds on what you want and ask for as well as Making sure it compliments you as well. Since seeing her, many friends and family have started routinely getting their hair done by Shelby and all love there hair as well as her fun and spunky personality! I also love the different art work they have in the salon, I don't know how Often the change it, but there always seems To Be new pieces which adds such a fun element to enjoy. Unity Salon has a great atmosphere. It's very contemporary. All the stylists were very friendly. My stylist was the owner Dell. She is the cutest stylist ever. She was extremely sweet. I came in for the works (highlights, cut, style). I also tried the new Hollywood trend-Brazilian Blowout (all the celebrities are ranting and raving about). Oh my goodness, what a difference!!!!! My hair has never felt so healthy. Anyone who has colored or highlighted hair-THIS IS A MUST!!! Dell was very helpful, she was very knowledgable about hair and hair products. I will definitely come here again and of course ask for Dell. PS: I was reviewing other reviews and noticed a customer who was dissatisfied because a stylist was not very social. I imagine it's hard to know whether a customer wants to talk or not. Some people come just to be pampered and relax. They rather be left alone. I was in need of a makeover and came to Unity because a good friend of mine gets her hair done here and her hair is always healthy and looks great, so I thought "why not". I have bounced around trying to find a salon that feels like "home" and I can honestly say that Unity is now my home for my hair care needs. The salon is clean, beautiful, alive, and relaxed at the same time. They did a great job with the style and I guess they have art work up from artists that were featured in the artwalk. My hair was just drab and lifeless and needed to come back to life. I ended up getting cut and color and I looked like a new person. I looked as if I just got back from Hawaii after relaxing and soaking up the sun and beach for a week. I even feel refreshed with my new hair. Dave, Anaheim, CA 5 star rating 11/19/2007 Being a man, haircuts were not my top priority. Then I had CRYSTAL at Unity cut my hair, that really changed my mind about haircuts and looking GREAT. Crystal is so awesome. What a big difference Crystal made in my appearance. Now it always looks GREAT ! ! ! Sure it's a little higher cost than super cuts or other so called Salon's, but the quality is well worth the extra expense. Crystals, I'm not happy unless your happy approach to cutting hair is a breath of fresh air in this hurry up world. Crystal takes the time to get my fine light colored looking perfect. The Salon is located in Old Town Fullerton with plenty of excellent restaurants and boutiques which you could spend time before your appointment or to celebrate your new look. read more

Maggie DeSanctis is an amazing stylist!...and an even more awesome person! I have been going to her for a few years now and followed her to Unity Salon. I enjoy Unity's atmosphere and all the talented people that work there , but Maggie has truly worked wonders with my hair. Every time I have needed an updo I come in with a general idea but give her the freedom to show her creativity- each time I am even more impressed and receive multiple compliments. Also, I recently decided to chop off all of my hair and donate it after having long hair for the past decade. I went in a little nervous but walked out completely confident with the new short style Maggie gave me. I have been going to Unity Salon since the age of 7. Dell Ignacio has been my hairstylist since then and I continue to go to her now every 6-8 weeks at the age of 24. She is ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS and PHENOMENAL!!! Now let me start off by saying that I was not lucky enough to be born with great, silky smooth hair. Dell has definitely turned it around for me and I am currently rocking the ombre trend and get PLENTY OF COMPLIMENTS! Went to Unity Salon and got an appointment with Crystal. She was AWESOME - nice conversationalist, and very knowledgable as she helped me figure out how to style my hair. I never know what to do with my hair - I just know I want it to be trimmed and neat, but Crystal gave me suggestions and also explained what do about my cowlicks, why they are challenging, which direction is the best way to angle my hair, etc. which a hairstylist has NEVER done before - REALLY awesome and helpful! I've gone back since and always ask for Crystal. A couple weeks ago I went to try out a new stylist at the salon, Shelby. She was SO good! I went in for a color and it was probably the best coloring job I have gotten and I dye my hair pretty often. She was also running right on time, which I love! Shelby also took the time to listen to what I wanted and how I wanted it to look and matched it exactly to what I imagined. I will definitely be going back to see her, and become a regular client. I love that she is young and knows what is "in" and has fresh new ideas about hair! Definitely a plus. I got a haircut/color from Heather about six months ago and loved it. The color was a little lighter than I wished for, but it still turned out phenomenal (Red and blonde with layers) and she did great with my naturally curly hair. I sometimes straighten it and sometimes leave it curly, and she made it so it looked great both ways. My boyfriend has also gone to her (he also has curly hair) and she did a great job with his cut as well. We were able to get appointments fairly soon and everyone has always been great. Maggie Uvalle at Unity Salon is the BEST! I have been going to Maggie for several years and have NEVER been disappointed. She is an ARTIST! Maggie is so good with color it is unbelievable. My daughter and I have been clients of Maggie's for about two years now. I love the location of Unity and everyone there is really nice and helpful. They don't act like they are doing you a favor to talk with you. Maggie is the best ever ! Her skill at color is like no other and her cuts are really awesome. She is a real artist. Really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was excellent. I reside in the Riverside area and my usual hairdresser was not available. I was going to be in the Fullerton area so I called over to make an appointment to get a cut and they just happened to have an opening. I also noticed they had some jewelry on display. Very creative. Must see them to appreciate them. Very reasonable excellent Christmas gift. Krystal is amazing! She is the only one who knows how to highlight and cut my hair. Last time when I got my highlights everyone kept complementing me how amazing my hair looked. She is also the only one who can cut my bangs right. I moved to LA area for a while and just could not find the right person to color and cut my hair. I have been with my stylist, Penny, for 15 years as she has moved to many different salons. This salon is my favorite so far! The salon is clean, spacious and bright with sunlight coming through the large windows. I always feel welcomed by the receptionist. -And I've got to give 5 stars to Penny for giving me great hair. Been coming here for years, even after I moved to another city I still came here. The salon is always clean and welcoming. Del is a master stylist and colorist. I am blonde and she always gets the color just how I like it without damaging it. She's usually booked weeks in advance so last minute is hard. I highly recommend coming in and seeing her! read more

My hair used to reach the middle of my buttocks -- long, healthy, and something I was proud of. I left with it cut above my chest, uneven, patchy, and with three different shades of color. When I reached out to the stylist KAYLA, she said it was "an easy fix." But hair doesn't grow back overnight, and I wasn't about to trust her again after she already butchered my hair. I hadn't colored my hair in 20 years or cut it in 5 years -- it was healthy and full of life, and now it's ruined. She claimed to have 15 years of experience, but it didn't show when she rushed me off the chair and overcut my hair without care. To make it worse, she refused to refund my money, only offering $65 for the haircut. After paying $275 for this disaster, I deserve a full refund. This review is not a reflection of the salon…read more I've had my hair done a couple times and the first time I had to drive back the next day to get it fixed because he added chunky money pieces which I communicated that I did not like or want on multiple occasions. I wrote it off as a mistake however after my second appointment I realized he's not paying attention and not being honest. I had requested highlights and my roots to be lightened,, he did not bring the foils up to my roots and once again gave me money pieces. I immediately told him that the entire crown was significantly dark and I told him again I was not sure why he added money pieces again. After being there for so many hours I was exhausted mentally and physically. I requested it be corrected after I came back from vacation and he agreed, I contacted him once I returned and no response. The appointment was unprofessional as he talks a lot personal life matters, and does not listen. I would caution other customers. I am now going to have to pay another stylist to fix his work.
