The perm procedure took place (slightly different from the traditional, normal straight perm process since she did the neutralizer step while my hair was soaking wet dipped in their washbowl.) She also cut my wet hair while it was still soaking wet immediately after rinsing my hair post the breaking bonds step, instead of blow drying and flat ironing it (other places cuts ur hair while its dry). After she blow dried my hair after the final rinse, she charged me $270, different from the price she gave me at the start of the process saying "haircut itself is like +$30." I won't ever be returning due to this scammy malpractice *** update below: I told her that I prefer English but doesn't mean my Korean sucks which would cause miscommunication in the pricing. I was never communicated in either Korean or English that the price was an estimate, I was given a solid price no range or the word "about" was used during the call. I was never informed before the service that there would be extra steps in the service due to my hair condition - this should have been communicated before so I can decide whether or not I'd be able to pay the extra $20, instead of receiving upcharge price after all those additional "steps & curls" which I never asked for. The curls could have been done with a curling iron myself after the cut + perm, I never asked for permanent curls. I never had a single bad of this experience at any hair salon. After finding Judy and going to her this year, he was so upset when Judy left Elle and the previous salon wouldn't say where, so I went deep diving the internet and found her! She cuts my 2yo boys hair soo well. She is also so sweet and great with babies. So patient and has a quick hand, so she doesn't make mistakes even when they move. Also my toddler remembered from the previous salon that they gave him a lollipop after his haircut was finished, but this one didn't have any so I told him they ran out. But the Judy was so nice and went back, and remembered some lollipops from her bag and gave him some!! he was overjoyed loll It's so hard to find a good place to take baby boys, and I'm so glad I found her again and will be her forever customer. I've been going to Salon Benardos for approx. 10 yrs and not once in that entire time have I ever gotten a 'bad' haircut or anything even close to it. The place is on the smaller side, which to me, gives it a more personal, cozy feel, immaculate, all the employees are always friendly as I walk through to be seated, or call on the phone. Another very nice point, is the pleasant rapport Irma and her employees have... no disagreements in front of employees or feelings of 'back-bitting' between people. (I've seen outright arguing between employers and employees numerous times in other establishments and it's embarrassing to the employees AND the customers.) IRMA, (the owner, and who has always done my hair), deserves kudos for the consistently great service and great business through the years. Keep up the wonderful work Benardos!! read more

I started with virgin dark brown hair, and when I say dark, I mean my hair is basically almost black. I also have curly, textured, thin hair, so there were a lot of factors to consider when I decided I wanted to go lighter. I was definitely nervous about keeping my curls healthy while changing my color, but Jeannette knew exactly what she was doing. We started slowly with some highlights, and after about two or three sessions, I told her I wanted to go even blonder. She talked me through the process and explained that while she could absolutely get me lighter, her priority was making sure my hair stayed healthy, kept its curl pattern, and didn't get damaged. I cannot tell you how happy I am with my hair! I LOVE the color, but what impresses me even more is how healthy my hair still feels. My curls are still there, my hair feels great, and she has also recommended some amazing products that I honestly can't go without now. Why did it take me this long to write a review?
