PERM DID NOT TAKE -- MANAGEMENT BALMED MY "HAIR CANVAS" INSTEAD OF SERVICE!! I'm severely disappointed with my experience at Salon Technique in Fullerton. I went in for a spiral perm with clear reference photos and left with a result that did not match what was discussed and was assured was possible. Within weeks, the curl continued to fall out, and at this point there is very little curl remaining--even with styling products; what a loss of $460! After multiple attempts to follow up with Pamela Coryell the owner and Piage their "perm specialists", I did not receive any timely responses from either. When Pamela did finally reply, my concerns were dismissed and the outcome was blamed on my "hair canvas", including claims that my ends were lightened and too porous. This is simply not accurate--my hair is NOT colored, and I have had previous spiral perms which held well 8+ months and have matched the spiral perm look requested. To be certain I was not off my rocker, I had another salon in evaluate my hair that very same week I got the perm, and they confirmed the perm did not properly take, did not reflect what was asked for and they said I should be refunded. What's most disappointing is the lack of accountability from Salon Technique. Instead of acknowledging that the service fell short, the responsibility was redirected onto me the client! I requested multiples times for a refund and was denied and the only offer sent back was that I could return and re-perm little ares here and there with no promise that they would take! UNBELIEVABLE - I'm sharing this so others can make an informed decision. My experience says beware and do not go here. I expected professionalism and accountability, and unfortunately this salon does not hold to this level of professionalism. Salon Techniques This review reflects my personal experience. I am very selective about who I trust with my hair and had been with the same hair technician for over six years. After moving to Orange County, I booked a consultation at Salon Techniques Fullerton after seeing Shelby's work online, which appeared to focus on blonde services. During the consultation, I clearly explained what I wanted and directly asked whether the result I was requesting was achievable. I also emphasized that honesty was important to me. I was assured that what I wanted could be done. Unfortunately, the final result did not reflect what was discussed. While the stylist was personable and communicative, I felt the execution did not match the consultation. Additionally, after my hair was washed, there was still noticeable dye residue along my hairline and under my neck, which was not addressed. I paid the full price for the service, which was well over $200, but chose not to leave a tip due to my dissatisfaction with the outcome. The most disappointing part of the experience was receiving a text the following day asking for a tip and being told how to send it. Given that the service did not deliver the result that was agreed upon, this felt inappropriate and unprofessional. In my opinion, when a client does not leave a tip, it should be understood as feedback that the service did not meet expectations. I take responsibility for not speaking up more clearly at the appointment, but I will not be returning. I usually come here for my cuts but this last time I had a bad a bad experience. Shout out to the receptionist because she was truly so nice. However I had an appointment with the stylist Anna at 1. She asked to push it back to 1:30 which I understand sometimes stuff happens, so I said that was fine. I was not sat till almost 1:55, when she sat me she was talking to me about what I wanted. This might just be a one off experience with her but I felt as she was condescending and overall in a rush. She put a deep conditioning treatment in my hair and told me it'll be in for 12 minutes, and then went back to her other client. I asked to be sat with a different stylist after that. I honestly can say i usually have a great experience here but this one time I was just really unhappy unfortunately. read more

I called in to make my appointment ahead of time. I explained that I needed a stylist that worked well with thick hair. Well she paired me with exactly the right person! I didn't have to wait long for Alfred. He was just finishing up when I arrived for my appointment. Very polite and courteous. I found this salon through my mom who followed Briana here from another salon. She is a stylist that I never want to lose! She listens to what I'm looking for and constantly checks in to make sure everything is going according to what I want. Even when I can only describe it or give general ideas, she helps me narrow it down and does it with confidence and ease. I also appreciate that she's comfortable with chatting or letting me just zone out on my phone or a book. Regardless of what I do during the appointment, I can always count on my hair looking and feeling amazing after my appointment. I don't have much experience with the rest of the salon, they offer drinks and have a nice bathroom. The shared equipment is clean and always accessible, I've never had to wait for the shampoo or dryer. The front desk is usually nice as well. First off, what a stunning atmosphere. This place is literally on the corner of commonwealth and harbor of downtown so you constantly see a cool, bustling atmosphere outside. Plus, they provide a little coffee/tea bar on the side, so niceeeee! Booking was easy and smooth. I literally just called a day before without even explaining for what I wanted, and they booked me right then. Lucky day I guess? I wanted a layered trim and some curtain bangs. This salon is nestled in the midst of downtown on the corner of the main streets! This salon is bright and airy! Tons of windows provide natural light! LOCATION: On the corner of COMMONWEALTH & HARBOR PARKING: They have 2 hour street parking on COMMONWEALTH or a full parking lot behind the salon. It's in downtown Fullerton, so if you come during the daytime should be lots of parking, but nights will get busy. AMBIANCE: This salon is HUGE! Definitely 50+ chairs! They have a front desk (usually unoccupied). Sign in and then take a seat in their waiting area with water, coffee, tea, and a mini fridge wish a few other beverage options. Only about 4 stylists were in when I came during the weekday. Very empty. ARRIVAL TIME: 11:20am APPOINTMENT TIME: 11:30am SEEN BY: 11:35am LEFT BY: 12:50pm (1 hour 1 total service time) STYLIST (ROBIN): I came in for just TONER & HAIRCUT. My hair was initially done by another stylist, but she was unable to squeeze me in before I moved. They have a sign in sheet at the front, but I don't think anyone looks at it. Since I was a first time client I didn't know what she looked like or where her chair was so I followed the instructions at the front desk (sign in & wait in the waiting area), but if I didn't text her she would have never come to get me. Also just a random thing, while getting my hair washed/toned I'm used to the stylist moving the chairs feet thing. So unless I asked she wasn't going to do it for me and those 20 minutes waiting for the toner would've been uncomfortable! Upside: she gave one of THE BEST head massages & shampoo I've ever had! I called the day of to see if they had an appointment for later in the evening for a haircut. I was happy that they were able to accommodate! My appointment was booked with Samantha, but she wasn't comfortable with cutting pixie hair. So they gave me to Sari for my haircut. Sari was very sweet. She listened to my concerns about my buzz cut grow out to pixie. She washed, shaped up, texturized and gave me a great haircut. It looks and feels so much better! It was growing out uneven and wild lolol I'm happy with the cut. And we shall continue onward with the grow out process with trims a long the way! :) The salon is huge! And super clean.
