I first asked how long the process is for a Japanese straightening treatment here on Yelp and Min answered almost immediately. I called her to make an appointment and she also answered right away. I was her first appointment for that day and she didnt just "jumped" into the treatment right away. She assessed my hair first and asked me multiple times to reassure that I wanted straight hair (since she liked my light curls/waves hehe). She definitely knows what she's doing and is very knowledgeable. After the treatment, she noticed my hair was uneven and notified me that I needed a cut in which I agreed to. I used to get my hair Japanese Magic Straight in Garden Grove years ago but the lady retired. I decided to Yelp some places to do the Japanese Magic Straight again and found this spot in Fullerton. I came here on a Thursday at 3pm. The process takes about 4 hours. Min Lee did such a good job. It was a similar process to how I did it at the other place but Min Lee made sure to straight iron every strand of hair. She was very intricate and took her time on my hair which I appreciated very much. She was such a nice and sweet person. She was afraid I was hungry and offered me drinks and string cheese. I'm embarrassed to say I have not gone into a hair salon since pre-pandemic. I thought I was being smart by cutting my own hair to save money. That's until the last time I chopped my hair off, it was left uneven no matter how hard I tried to fix it. I guess it didn't help that I have very thick hair, with a mind of its own. After casually searching for a salon for months (that felt like years), I finally got introduced to this place through my Mom, who found out through some of her church fam. It appears they have been regulars at this salon for years. We came in at 12:30pm today (with an appointment) and was seated right away which was nice! I've been to many salons where I would wait despite making an appointment. There were two ladies running the salon and I'm allllmost sure the lady we got referred to is the owner of the salon (I wish I got her name, I'll def get it next time). She was so kind and knew exactly how to get my crazy hair back in line. While she was working her magic on my hair, she freely gave tips on how to blow dry/comb my hair which I appreciated so much! I discovered this salon thru my esthetician Esther Choi who has a space there. Esther is great and so sweet. I have been coming to her for almost a year. She does micro needling which has been great for my skin . She has done my eyebrow tattoo which has been a great investment especially for someone like me that has thin eyebrows. DON'T GO HERE!! I went there yesterday 1/21/25 off the bat Min Lee tried upselling. I told her I wanted a simple cut, 4 fingers off the bottom and some layers. That cost $45. My hair was wavey from sleeping in a bonnet and she didn't wet my hair at all and just started cutting dry hair. I could tell it was uneven but thought just trust the process. I should have stopped her immediately. Right after the cut the said she's going to make it wavey. Didn't show me how it looked, didn't show me the layers, nothing and she full on curled my hair. Next day washed it and you can see how uneven it is. So don't waste your time if you're not a regular client. For some reason I can't post the pictures I took but I'm not lying when I say it's uneven. read more

I called in last minute and Min Lee took me. I was with the 4 year old and she was very nice to her and treated her nicely. I got my hair done a few weeks ago, and this was my first time at Hair Force. My stylist Gina, used to work at another salon, but it closed permanently due to the pandemic. She texted me she now works at Hair Force and I was so delighted! The salon was clean and spaced out, and everyone adhered to the covid19 guidelines. I brought my own mask, but Gina gave me a disposable one. I have VERY thick, textured, wavy/curly Latina hair. I felt like a celebrity when all the stylists walked around saying how nice my hair is haha. Really boosted my ego. Anyways, Gina does a great job of taming my puff, and keeping my layers in check. I am trying to grow out my hair really long, and she understands that and does not over cut. I am so happy Gina is at Hair Force and hopefully the salon will be back to being allowed to do hair indoors soon. read more

Racist Staff, Fake Japanese Treatment Can't believe I have to take time out of my busy day to write this but hopefully, it saves someone else time and a horrible experience. My cousin was visiting from Egypt and wanted to get Japanese hair treatment prior to her upcoming wedding. I initially was going to send her to a great stylist I know that flies to Japan to buy her treatment. That stylist was out of my cousin's budget so I found this salon. I called and was offered the treatment half off at $100. I thought this was a bit low since my other stylist charges around $600 but thought maybe my stylist is just expensive and it's a special due to few customers due to COVID-19. On the day of the appointment, my cousin was running 15 minutes late so she called and informed the stylist. The stylist said no problem. Then when my cousin arrived she was berated for being late. My cousin covers her hair for religious reasons and asked for a separate area to have her hair done. The stylist said there wasn't any. Fair enough. She then asked if she could put up the partition that was nearby to shield her from the male customer. She refused. My cousin said fine, he's elderly I'll take off my scarf. Then as soon as the stylist saw her hair, she loudly yelled out, "I can't do your hair! It's too curly! It will only get maybe 60% straight!". This is how I know she's using fake Japanese treatment or using another treatment and just calling it Japanese. My hair is curly and thicker than my cousin's and Japanese hair treatment made it bone straight. I hope management speaks to this staff member about basic manners and etiquette.
