This is for Kim at The Beauty Bar I NEVER write reviews, but this experience was so terrible. I tried to be polite and kind and let her do her job but this girl does not know what she's doing. Don't get me wrong, she's nice but I would never come back or recommend her. I came in to watch my sister in law get her hair done from Kim and spoke about how I wanted to get extensions, cut and color. Kim expressed how she would love to do it and could work with my hair texture (curly, not too thick) and i trust her so i book the appointment. I come in and the hair is beautiful, however not my texture. WAVY not curly. She explains that with the weight of the extensions my hair will loosen up and it will look better. Or she can do a blow out (she doesn't proceed to do this) The color i request is a dark brown, she dyes me black along with the extensions. Keep in mind I am paying almost $2,000 for this entire service. Hair, cut, color and install. She leaves me with hair that DOES NOT MATCH MY TEXTURE and knows it. Straightens my hair and sends me off. I have had to straighten my hair every day in order for this situation to look ok but now can not wear my natural hair at all. I ask her if we can do a reinstall of the hair, blow me out, get new hair -something and she agrees but i assumed because she messed up my hair she would offer a discount for her mistake. Nothing. Attempts to charge me another $2000 and says that she STILL CAN NOT get extensions that match my hair texture. I would just like to know WHY she took me on as a client if she knew she couldn't manage my hair type? This whole experience has felt like a waste of time and money and now i have to find someone else to do my hair the right way. It's hard enough having curly hair as a civilian but to have a hair stylist make it seem like your hair texture is a burden is even more awful. I will never come back and will never recommend her to anyone. I want a a full refund. read more

I booked a haircut cut at this salon assuming they was going to get a hairstylist but got a barber so I said you know I'll give it a chance. My hair was already kind of long so all I wanted was trim and also showed him a video. While being in the chair I was faced away from the mirror the whole time so I couldn't see what he was doing. After everything was done I was shocked and upset because I care a lot about my appearance. So I was very disappointed in the service and will not go back. My first time I had booked with Tesa (who did a great job) and also had Kimm work on my hair. This time, I booked with Kimm and O M G, she was a godsend. I went to a whole different salon earlier this week and they butcher chopped my hair, like it was so bad! When I saw that Kimm had a last minute opening, I knew I had to book her to fix my hair. She is super friendly and takes good care of my hair. I've communicated with her via Instagram about my hair requests - going blonde, balayage, and helping with my tone and touch ups. I was recently in Orange County visiting from Washington state to help my daughter get ready for her wedding, and I ended up needing a last minute hair appointment. I had one booked at home, but something came up and I couldn't make it. I was able to get in with Charity, and I'm so glad it worked out that way. The salon is easy to find. Parking was decent, pretty much what you'd expect in the area. Inside, the salon felt clean and comfortable. Charity was warm and professional right from the start. She asked questions, listened, and made sure she understood exactly what I was looking for. She did a great job on my blonde color and gave me a nice cut with a few new layers that honestly turned out even better than what I had planned. My hair felt soft and healthy, and I loved the products she used. She also gave me a few helpful styling tips for the wedding week and recommended a couple of products without being pushy, which I really appreciated. The whole appointment felt relaxed and easy. I'll definitely book with her again the next time I'm in town and due for a hair appointment. Wanted to find a salon that was open on Sunday and had a more affordable price but I guess that wasn't worth it: My hair was cut by Charity. I showed her 4 pictures for reference and I thought she instantly got the picture when she immediately said "oh it's just face framing layers." After cutting my hair, it looked nothing like the pictures. I understand my hair is straight but there were literally two people in the reference picture that had the same exact type of hair as me. When I tried to tell the stylist that I wanted layers on not just the front of my hair but on the back of my hair as well, she straight up just cut the back of my hair shorter AND more unevenly. Pretty much, I was trying to describe to her that I wanted the outer layers of my hair to be shorter while keeping the inner layers of my hair longer. She kept trying to say that it's cause of my hair being straight that made it difficult and that it was just face-framing layers. I seriously tried to repeat to her several times that it wasn't just face framing layers.... I feel like my instructions were pretty clear cut as other stylists from other different salons understood what I wanted my hairstyle to be. In addition, I suggested to her to use a curling iron to try to curl the strands that did have layers as that's what my other stylists have done, but she thought a straightener would be better?? Overall, I don't think she's experienced in cutting different lengths on different layers of hair and literally can only cut basic hairstyles. You're better off finding a different stylist who's more experienced in cutting since she also told me she prefers dying hair more than cutting.... read more

This review is for Autumn (Blendsbyautumn). I drove 40+ mins for my appointment after discovering her on Tiktok and when I got there she said that I didn't have an appointment with her. I was confused because I got an email AND a text saying that i was booked for 4/24 at 2:00pm (I'll insert pictures below). She then told me that my appointment was requested but never confirmed which made me even more confused, so I ended up booking an appointment for another day to see what i did wrong the last time when I booking. No, same thing, it said my appointment was requested and then confirmed. I talked to Autumn about this and she unfortunately lacks any real customer service. The entire time i was talking to her she just seemed annoyed and not sincerely apologetic. She made it seem like it was my fault when it was something wrong with her booking system on her end. She said that i canceled my April 24th appointment, but if i did cancel it then how come i never got a cancellation email? The other ladies at the salon are nice though and this review is not a reflection of the salon, just Autumn herself. read more

I went in for a haircut with Linneth. She left the rest of my hair feeling and looking great, but my bangs were a different story. She left the sides so long they went past my ears when not styled, and when I curled them, it looked like I had horns sticking out the side of my head. I went in to get them fixed, and I left with my bangs ruined. I could've just cut them myself and saved the trouble. She cut the sides far too short, and the center...the center doesn't even reach past my brows, when they usually sit just below my brows - and that's after I've curled them. Unstyled, they're supposed to sit in my eyes. Now, they sit well above my brow line when styled. Not only did she leave my bangs extremely uneven, but I can see my brows, whether or not I style my bangs - and I've never had that problem before. I look like the redhaired girl from Wednesday. My bangs are supposed to - and have always, up until now - covered my entire forehead, brows included. I asked for a partial refund, given that I did actually like the rest of my hair, but I am very unhappy with how my bangs look - and I'm stuck with uneven, short bangs until they grow enough for me to cut them back to their normal shape, which will take several weeks. I'm going to have these bangs for any and all holiday pictures I take next week, which is not okay. When I asked for the refund, I don't know what I was expecting, but it definitely wasn't just 20% of the total. That's including the tip. If I take the tip out on both ends - refund and total - I only received 15% of the amount charged for the service. To get 15% when I had to go in for a fix and instead got a chop job...I'm surprised and disappointed. The fix did not in fact, fix my hair. I would've been better off cutting the sides shorter myself instead of going in. Now, instead of having the sides too long, my bangs are too short all around, and they're cut at a slant, instead of a C-line like I had in the picture I showed. I attached the picture I showed her - of how my bangs usually look - and how she left them after the "fix." The latest picture is with my bangs unstyled, the reference is with them styled. Linneth and I had a good rapport going, and I was going to let this go, but to only get a 15% refund...I just can't believe it, with the way my hair was left. I do not recommend going to this salon, if this is the way things are run. read more

I arrived early for my appointment and was greeted by a friendly face from the adjoining barbershop. I don't even know if Linneth was ever in the salon since the two stylists who were there never approached or talked to me and then disappeared when they were done with their clients. By the time I texted her the second time, it was nearly 45 min past my appointment time, where she then blamed her client for being late and asked if we could reschedule. I said no thank you and walked out. Life happens, but the lack of communication is irresponsible and disrespectful. I'll be taking my business elsewhere, and I recommend you do the same if you value your time and dignity. read more
