I was referred to Ashley through a close friend of mine (who has great hair) after I asked her for a magic straight perm recommendation. My last had been more than 6 years ago, attempting to embrace my wavy-ish hair after years and years of getting magic straight perms. I tried - and I failed. My natural hair is thick, wavy on the inside, half straight-half wavy on the outside, and it just wasn't working for me. Booking an appointment over the phone was easy and I appreciated her upfront pricing and time estimate. My perm plus haircut took about 5 hours total. I was her only client the whole time and felt at home at her studio as she kindly offered me snacks and drinks. Ashley is clearly a pro at what she does, so hospitable, gives the most relaxing hair wash, and I'm so happy with how smooth and silky my hair feels now. Thank you, Ashley! read more

Ashley was amazing! She made me feel so welcome by offering snacks and beverages, and she took the time to make sure she fully understood what I wanted before starting my hair. The result turned out exactly like the picture I showed her (honestly, even better!). I would highly recommend Ashley to anyone looking to cut or dye their hair. She's talented, attentive, and made the whole experience so enjoyable. I'll definitely be coming back! read more

I drive two and a half hours each way to see Ashley. Here is why that will never change. She has been doing my hair for 4 years and was the first person to touch my virgin hair since my teenage years. Incredibly patient, always wonderful, never needed more than a description to know exactly what I wanted. One thing to know going in is that Ashley keeps it real with you. Once you understand that, you realize it is actually one of her best qualities because it means she is completely focused on your hair. I moved and tried to save the drive. My hair paid for that. I rolled the dice on a local salon and asked for a soft natural look on my dark hair. They bleached 80% of my head. Went back to fix it. Came out looking like a tiger. Orange, blonde, dark brown, black, all at once. Went back a third time. Left fully orange. My hair was nearly beyond repair. I reached out to Ashley. She had me come in for a consultation on a Wednesday, saw the damage in person, saw my inspiration picture, and was shocked. We booked that same Friday. She blow dried between every round to check the tone. Never rushed once. Fed me her favorite Korean snacks and got me completely hooked. By the end of that night she nailed it. The color, the softness, the health Not many stylists can lift naturally dark hair, correct that level of bleach damage, and preserve the hair all at once. That is a rare skill. Ashley has it and she makes it look easy. Five hour round trip. Twelve hours in the chair. Worth every minute. Love Ashley read more

My wife actually brought me here after a few of her visits, and it has been a great experience for me each time I come in. It is hard to find someone who is good with Asian hair, and Ashley is a great hair stylist who works quickly and has been able to deliver each time. They provide gowns and wash my hair before and after my cut (my wife just had the precut wash). There's even a little coffee station with seating while you wait. Always look forward to my haircuts here! read more

I made an appointment after my friend's wedding to chop my hair and add some color/dimensions. I'm super happy with the results after coming to Ashley Hair Studio! She was very attentive and gave me treats and water/tea. There were several other people going in and out while I was there but she definitely made me feel cared for. I decided to also get some highlights and there were some demarcation lines after my first wash so she went back in and blended out my roots. At the end I was also given some essence treatment to use for my hair. Would definitely recommend! read more

It was my first time going to Ashley for a magic straight perm and haircut. It was very easy scheduling an appointment over phone. Ashley was very easy to talk to, gave me lots of snacks because it took 6 hrs to do my hair, and gave me a giant bottle of treatment to take home. I am 100000% happy with my results. Even though it does cost more than my previous salon, I will be going back again because of the quality of service. read more

Ashley has brought my dead and damaged hair back to life after 2 years of slowly working on it! I had damaged hair after getting it bleached, so she cut away dead ends whenever I came to see her, gave me a couple keratin treatments to keep it looking healthier, and finally gave me a magic perm when it was healthy enough. She suggested low lights to add some color- I was hesitant after seeing my hair so damaged from getting it bleached. But she was able to do it without bleaching it at all. I loooove my hair now! Thank you, Ashley! :) read more

I've been going to Ashley since the pandemic had started. Professional, kind, and knowledgeable in every visit guaranteed. She's helped me through my dark "black box hair dye" phase and my many spilt ends due to so many color changes in my 20s. Now you see my hair with highlights, color tone, and great healthy hair growth. At such fair prices and a clean studio to boot, her services are worth the drive from LA. Her attentive guidance is always such a pleasure compared to the high-end K-town salons who are more interested in flipping customers rather than quality. Local or visiting, I highly recommend getting your hair journey started here! read more

This review is long overdue. I left a review the haircut that I got a month or so ago (had an amazing experience) so I decided to go back to have Ashley lighten my hair. I am a licensed cosmetologist and retired hairstylist, so I've been doing my own color at home for the last decade. But I'm tired of doing it all one color and needed to go lighter to blend my I coming grays. Ashley is amazing, I cannot say enough about how wonderful her skills are, her attention to detail and the way she cares for her clients. She made sure I was comfortable and fed and watered ;) the whole process took about 5 hours. She was incredibly patient, took the time to lift my hair with minimal damage (I was very dark and she took me to blonde). I also brought my daughter to her to get the Magic straight perm and she is beyond happy with the results. Do not hesitate to come to Ashley!! read more

Ashely was very nice and patient with me since this is my first time getting a digital perm. She checked in at good points within the process to make sure it was a good length or if I needed to change anything. She told me how to style it after with the serum needed for my hair. Service was great. Walked through the door at 9:30AM and walked out a little before 2:30pm. It took awhile but I love the result. They provided drinks and snacks throughout my time. read more

LOVE! LOVE! LOVE! Ashley is professional and super skilled. She will do what you are looking for but if it's not realistic she'll be honest and let you know. Someone had totally messed up my hair prior to this correction. Another salon kept dyeing it different shades and the last time actually came out green. I didn't have enough time the first time going to Ashley so she just did a quick color correction which saved me as I was off to attend a wedding. This time she asked me to give her as much time as she needed and she highlighted my hair and toned it. It was a long and grueling process but totally worth having done. She's not the cheapest but the quality of her work is worth every penny. Literally the saying of "you get what you pay for." I was there for such a long time, she made sure I had snacks and drinks like a traditional Korean salon throughout the process. My overall experience is 5 stars. She'll be go to from now on. PROS -location is clean -location has a nice vibe -Ashley knows what she's doing -customer service is on point -Korean style salon so you get lots of snacks CONS -a bit on the pricey side (totally worth it) read more

I have nothing but positive things to say about my new hair stylist, Ashley!!! I started out with brassy, overly highlighted, frizzy, mop of hair after spending $$$ on balayage at a different salon. I had given up on styling or trying to salvage the damage done to my hair that I was thinking of just cutting it off. After hearing from a good friend that Ashley is the only stylist who doesn't damage her hair from highlights and the only person who gives her the exact style that she wants, I decided to see for myself. During the consultation Ashley was able to pinpoint the difficulties I have with my hair type and diagnosed the problems with my current hair color and style. It was as if she took the words right out of my mouth! She just KNEW right away what the problem was AND how to FIX IT!!! She suggested a couple ways to correct the orange tone and make my existing highlights appear more natural-- which is the look I was going for in the first place. So I ended up with natural looking ash brown after her skillful color, treatment, and cut. Let me tell you another thing--her shampooing chair is beyond comfortable, and relaxing to the point that I actually dozed off during the treatment process! Oh and the warm heating pad she applied to my abdomen was a nice touch too. Like a mini spa. I couldn't be happier with the final outcome and I'm so glad I went to her before completely giving up on my hair!!! read more

I have been contemplating a while about leaving this review, but I want to make sure new clients know what to expect when coming to Ashley's hair studio. Pro's: Ashley will put in the work to get your hair as close as possible to what you are looking for color wise. If you look at the photos, it's pretty close if not right on color wise. Con's: These were all unexpected. The first con was that what I expected to be a 2-3 hour appointment turned into a 6 hour appointment. I understand needing some time to get my hair to what it is now, but I would have appreciated a heads up before getting started because I had work that day. I also often felt forgotten due to many other clients coming in at the same time. Another Con was I didn't really know what was going on. My hair got double bleached and I was so nervous for the health of my hair. My hair after the first wash is quite brittle and I'm scared to brush it. Con number three is that not all of my requests were taken into account. When we started, I asked for some blending near my roots, instead the color runs all the way up to my scalp and I will be forced to go in for touch ups sooner rather than later. When it was time for my hair to be cut, I had asked for a trim because Ashley insisted I needed one, which she was probably right. However, without asking she angled my bangs and this was unfortunate because I have been trying to grow them to match the length of the rest of my hair. An additional con was that even though I was a customer, I felt I was an inconvenience. Most of the conversation was in Korean and I was only spoken to a few times about my hair. The final and most important con was that once all was done, Ashley revealed the price to me. For my color (not even a balayage) and cut, it was $650. I was absolutely shocked since I have done this exact thing to my hair before multiple times and so I never expect to pay more than $300. There wasn't anything at the salon to indicate how pricey it would be. I was offered a kurig coffee in a paper cup, surely it can't be that expensive is what I thought. I proceeded to pay and then went to my car and cried because I had just spent 6 hours here, missed work, and paid 3 times the amount I had expected which was a total financial strain for me for probably what was my least favorite hair experience so far. I appreciate the work Ashley put in for my hair and she was friendly when she spoke to me, but I will not be returning and will go crying back to my previous stylist. read more

Ashley has been my hairstylist whenever I wanted to go for a major hair change, because she has always done above and beyond to help me manifest my dream hair do's. She's attentive to your hair needs and honest and sincere with her recommendations, rather than what is the most expensive treatment (aka no bs). I had bleached hair with not so flattering roots growing out, and wanted to go for an overall hair color change to something "copper". Ashley helped me customize that exact color I showed her from my inspiration pics. And throughout each step, she was kind enough to tell me what she was applying to my hair / why it was important. You'll notice the little details she pays attention to make your experience as wonderful and comfortable as possible. 2.5 hours flew by. She has a swankin new studio, and everything is so clean and accommodating for her clients. 1000/10 recommend her for hair needs! read more

My hair was in really bad shape, needing a clean trim all around, and I was wanting to get a new hair color. Ashley was really amazing, thorough, and put a lot of care and attention throughout the entire process, which she had explained ahead of time would take almost the entire day. She took the time to talk me through each step of the way, explaining what was needed to be done to get my hair to the ash gray color. And the cut was not only accurate but was exactly what I wanted. On top of that, I appreciated how she shared a lot of practical tips on how to take care of my hair afterwards. And even demonstrated for me the steps I need to take to make sure I take good care of my hair. The way that Ashley tirelessly worked on my lengthy hair process, just shows Ashley's high quality service and commitment to quality and excellence. Her thoughtfulness and care for the health of my hair is another reason why I strongly recommend Ashley - she goes beyond the basics of the hair cut to thinking about the person, to help them understand and learn how to maintain their hair for the long haul. I am a mother of two toddlers who has a very demanding full-time career, and I barely have time to write any review on Yelp to be honest. However, Ashley was EXTREMELY impressive and exceptional that I decided to set aside time to write this. (Yes, that's how GREAT she is!) At Ashley Hair Studio, it's evident that she 100% understands the artistry behind hair coloring. She is such a professional who not only listens attentively to your desires but also offers expert advice to ensure your vision is brought to life flawlessly. My hair color was looking terrible from another hair salon who did a poor job, and she beautifully and artistically provided a solution, exactly the way I wanted it but with a 100000x improved version. Check out the photos attached, and you will know what I mean. What truly sets her hair color treatment apart is her commitment to quality. Besides her impeccable skillset and art in coloring your hair to the best quality, I noticed that she uses only the finest products, delivering vibrant and trendy results that exceed expectations. I could totally feel that each application is executed with precision and care, leaving your hair feeling nourished and rejuvenated. Beyond the great service and stunning results, the ambiance of Ashley Hair Studio is an experience in itself. In conclusion, if you're looking to elevate your hair color game and pamper yourself in the process, look no further than Ashley!
