Friendly folks and fast service. They do a good business and are straight shooters. I always use them for car inspections.

An hour later, they bring her car back from a test drive and the transmission is shot. The car is shuddering like it's going over railroad tracks with each shift. It was NOT doing this when she brought the car in, and multiple people who were passengers in her car the days prior also said the transmission was behaving normally. Now they're telling her she needs a whole new transmission. Then they told her that they found oil in the transmission. The staff stood in a circle around her laughing at her in front of numerous other customers while informing her that she was the one that put oil in it. This is patently absurd because we've never touched the transmission. In fact, the only people who have touched the transmission and/or the fluid in it since she purchased the car, was Eavers. I then informed the front office that I want to speak to the store owner. They told me they are a corporate office and have a regional manager. I gave them my information because they wouldn't give me his information, and promised me he would call. That was Friday, it's now Wednesday and no call. I also emailed the corporate office in Ohio about the situation and they are ignoring my emails too. Better Business Bureau is my next stop. This is my second historically terrible encounter with this shop. I wouldn't take my car here if it was the last place in town. Go to Sours instead. They'll at least treat you like a human being instead of a walking ATM machine.

I called on a Tuesday afternoon and asked them when they could do an oil change on my Jeep. The gentleman told me that they could do it Wednesday at 7:30 am or 1:00 pm. I told him I would take the early appointment. He asked if I wanted a tire rotation as well. I said sure a tire rotation and a synthetic oil change at 7:30 am. I told him I would drop it off Tuesday evening and leave overnight since it was an early appointment. On Wednesday afternoon around 1:00 pm to pick up our jeep, much to our dismay the tire rotation was done but they hadn't done the oil change yet. The gentleman told we it would be about 45 minutes, I told him I would come back I didn't feel like waiting in a tire shop. We went on home and after about an hour and half I called to see if the job was complete. After several minutes on hold I was told yes it's ready. I go down to pick up and notice it's cheaper than expected when I'm paying. They tell me the keys are in it and have a nice day. I went out and looked at the receipt and realized that they used standard oil. (Really?) I mean a professional shop should ask and at least make a note when specifically requesting synthetic oil. So not only was it not ready on time but they goofed it up as well! We ended up getting a refund and the only thing the counter person had to say was "there's that" as he handed me the receipt for my refund. Definitely not the shop for us. We will keep looking and I suggest you do too.

Not one time in four weeks did this place contact us, we had to contact them on every occasion to get updates. They "claimed" the specialist didn't have very much time to look at the car, again NEVER contacting us we had to reach out to them. After four weeks with NOTHING no answers, no car fixed NOTHING we had our car towed to a different location. United had looked at the car and found the issues within 72 hours. Thankfully United is actually here to help. I would never recommend Idiehl.

My husband's car recently died. It started making what he said was a "funny" noise and wasn't getting much power under the hood. I had it towed over to Johnson's and asked them to check it out. The engine was out of oil and that was that. We took the car and junked it. The staff at Johnson's seems to know what they're doing (from my short experience with them). But the way one of the staff members (and of course, I didn't get his name - stupid me) treated me was deplorable. Apparently their business number rings to this man's personal cell phone. This may be after hours or all the time - I don't know. What I DO know is that when I called them at 6pm on a Wednesday, I was subjected to a condescending lecture about calling someone's cell phone and how it was supposed to be used just for tow calls, so they could offer 24 hour towing - something I had absolutely no way of knowing. Then, when I went to go pick up the car, I was told - in an extremely rude manner - that we should be checking the oil every so often. With so many other auto repair places around, I see no reason to go back to a place with such rude customer service. Very disappointing.

I had to pay for a tow back to their shop. Several days later they told me it was a burst radiator hose. They never replaced the hose! Ladd Auto then charged for AGAIN for labor, new coolant, and parts. (An extra $167 on top of the $120 tow) A few days later my car started smoking again. This time from an oil leak dripping onto my heat shield. They changed the oil in my car, even put the sticker in the windows, then denied the oil change when I brought the car back. I took my car to another shop. Now, just a few weeks later, I am experiencing a coolant leak again. I went here because the reviews raved about honesty. This was not the case for me! When I mentioned it, the mechanic told me to bring it back if it continued. When I took it back for them to try to determine the problem, they had no record of me or my previous visit in their system--even though I paid them twice. They claimed I needed an alignment due to uneven wear, but I'd had one just 6 months earlier and hadn't hit any potholes. A trusted mechanic later confirmed my differential had chunks missing from it ($850 repair). Talking it over with a friend, who explained what was required to do such damage, it became clear: someone must have taken my car (a twin-turbo) for a joy ride after the tire install and hit something hard enough to damage both the alignment and differential. Bottom line: avoid this shop--your car may come back worse than when you dropped it off.
