With a population of of about 4,000, this historic town deserves a better looking post office. Inside is rather junky, with a bin of old free books and a free shabby office chair. The post master here needs to give this place a good fall cleaning! I did like the vintage brass post offices boxes though, and it looked well stocked. There is a sign saying they are hiring for a substitute rural carrier, and also warehouse workers. Hours M-F 8:00-12:00, 12:30-4:30 Saturday 8:00-12:00

It's a nice small place, with quite a lot of trees. Being next to the county connector trail is an added bonus. There's not a lot to do here. For me it's just about chilling. I like the large amount of oak and maple trees. They've been growing some time. You can get a canopy of shade due to them. Have caught and released some non venomous serpents here.

Oak Hill Park is named for Historic Oak Hill Mansion which is less than half a mile away. Oak Hill Mansion was saved from being bulldozed by a developer during the 2005 housing boom. It's clear the building is old, but the programming is not. They offer free boat tours along the river, tours, and a birds of prey event every Sunday. It's a great way to spend an afternoon with kids teaching them about nature. This crew is dedicated, friendly, and they also run the famous DC bald eagle cam nearby!
