The Safe Ship sales rep had us do an inventory a month or two before the planned pickup. The quote was more than we expected as it was difficult for us to accurately determine our cubic foot needs. To help reduce cost we gave away a lot of pricey stuff to the VFW and other charitable organizations. We didn't have time to sell things. We were still living in our home and had items in closets and cabinets that required an increase of box count. Before the move, the rep reviewed the new inventory and it increased our cost to them as well to the movers that they hire. The cost should have gone down, not up. On move day, they showed up in a UHaul truck and couldn't get everything in it, requiring us to figure out how to get the rest of our stuff to our destination by ourselves. To be fair, after several phone conversations, they admitted the cubic foot error on their part (truck not big enough) and refunded a portion of the cost. Do yourself a favor and call a moving company who will come to your place and do their own cubic foot calculations and please stay away from brokers. They are just another layer that can cause avoidable problems. Brokers hire the actual movers so if there is a problem, you have to figure out if it was in the broker's wheelhouse or within the moving company. I wouldn't use them again, nor would I use any moving broker.

Then they do a confirmation of the inventory a few days before the pick up, after they have already collected a 1/3 deposit. We sold two couches, tables, chairs, etc to reduce our inventory but they raised the quote to $17,500. Almost double. It's a scam company and I would never recommend.

Although not much to see on the outside of this busy post office in Charlottesville, VA, it's cool…read morethat it's conveniently located right on the promenade of the downtown mall. It's a rather large facility and it was busy, but the lines were organized by a queue that moved fast. It was beautifully maintained out front, although we did see some "loitering" by the steps. It was clean and tidy on the inside, which was a bright sunny spacious lobby. There was a big greeting card kiosk and plenty of mailing & shipping supplies offered. Also, there a lots of P.O. Boxes available inside. The downside is the parking as you need to park on the street or in the nearby parking deck. The lobby is understandably only open during business hours due to the many people wandering around the mall area to keep it safe and avoid folks "squatting" inside. But perhaps for that reason, it's inconvenient for people who may need to pick up their mail after hours. Hours M-F 8:30-5:00, closed Saturday

Instead of the delivery driver putting the package in front the RIGHT APARTMENT whick is clearly on the package, he decided to put it at the bottom of the stairs . I live in an Apt complex so this could have been stolen or taken. They need to place packages IN FRONT OF THE RIGHT APARTMENT. NOT WHEREVER they see fit. STOP BEING LAZY AND DO YOUR JOB RIGHT.
