Matcha wave shake
Selene S.

Matcha Ren has now debut with a new name- United Matcha! To celebrate, they had BOGO on their shakes, tea foam, and fruit teas. Located semi-outside at the promenade, United Matcha can be found by Tang Bar and Ding Tai Fung. There was a bit of a wait to order and to get our drinks due to the ongoing promo. They only have one TV screen so the menu kept rotating which was a bit hard to read. I tried the matcha wave shake ($8.25). It's supposed to be 16oz such is kind of a small cup for the price. With tax, it came out to be around $9. To be surprise though, the matcha was very authentic and strong in this blended drink. I didn't even need to adjust the sweetness. Though pricey, I'd recommend you to give it a try!

Nice addition in the Santa Anita mall. I am a big fan of the matcha products and I'm glad to see a range of products from mochis to ice cream to drinks. I will note that the products seem higher than other matcha items within the mall, but not bad at all. Note that they're just a stall so there won't be any seating nearby. I will not run back anytime soon, but good to know this place exists

Came here their reopening under the new name United Matcha since they were having a bogo promo on their japanese fruit teas, shakes, and foam teas. There wasn't a super long line when I went but they only have one person working the counter and they worked on drinks in between taking orders. But the wait wasn't too bad and it took around 15-20 minutes. A lot ot items were sold out but luckily the drink I wanted wasn't. I ordered the Matcha Wave (8.25) which is like a blended matcha smoothie. Drink was ready in around 20 minutes which isn't too bad. The cup is pretty small for that price since it's only one size, so I wouldn't normally choose this place over the other boba spots at the mall. The matcha wave was good with strong matcha taste but not sweet even though I didn't adjust the sugar level. The blended texture is like smoothie and not like a frappe since there isn't much ice. Enjoyed it but the cream on top is sweet and not that good. Overall, this is a great matcha spot. Their matcha and tea taste authentic and they have some desserts as well!

Matcha Wave (L) and Hojicha Wave (R)

Located on the 2nd level of The Shops at Santa Anita, this Japanese-style spot has a nice selection of matcha desserts and drinks. My partner and I were mainly interested in the Japanese Tea Shakes, so we shared the Matcha Wave and Hojicha Wave. Both were creamy, smooth, and surprisingly refreshing. They were on the sweeter side, and we were told the sugar level can't be adjusted. The portions also felt a little small for the price, but overall, we enjoyed both drinks and would come back to try some of their other matcha treats.

Mango mochi
Janet M.

The mango mochi was actually really good the mango inside tasted really fresh and juicy and the white bean paste was delicious, it did have a lil too much excess rice dough but overall still pretty good! The service was kind and patient. The place is inside the mall so pretty small but looked cleaned.

Stopped by on Saturday, 7/18/26 for the second time. Ordered at the kiosk (there was a long line after me): - 1 mont blanc soft serve = $9.20 This was basically matcha soft serve with a noodle-shaped like filling on top which has a red-bean texture to it; it's not really my favorite but can tolerate it. Overall I would just refer a plain soft serve.

MATCHA CREAM MOCHI, STRAWBERRY CREAM MOCHI
Sarah C.

6/14/2026 STRAWBERRY CREAM MOCHI Mochi itself was a bit too mushy. Cream tasted like pocky strawberry. There was another strawberry jelly in the middle bringing more strawberry flavor. The cream didn't taste bad, but the mochi was mushy and it was off-putting to eat. MATCHA CREAM MOCHI This was more of a matcha strawberry flavor than matcha cream filling. The cream in the middle was strawberry and regular whipped cream. The outside was dusted with matcha powder. The matcha powder was not good and immediately had a fishy smell. Matcha tasted like old matcha with a bitter flavor. The filling wasn't bad though. The mochi texture wasn't bad either. BLUEBERRY MATCHA LATTE The matcha was very poor quality. It did not taste like matcha, but more like jasmine tea. Appearance-wise, you can see the green color of a matcha, but it tasted like floral jasmine tea. The blueberry jam or compote did bring a light blueberry flavor, yet it was not strong enough to carry the flavor through when mixed with the matcha. Overall, it tasted like a floral, fruity jasmine tea. Not good, do not recommend at all! SELF-ORDER KIOSK There's a self-order kiosk at the front. That's the only way to order. The screen was big and it was easy to navigate. You get a receipt with a ticket number afterwards. CUSTOMER SERVICE Very little interaction with the staff except when you pick up your order at the front. So have nothing more to add. NO SEATS Take out order only. This was an underwhelming experience. Will not return.

After shopping at the Santa Anita Mall, I wanted to try the new Japanese Matcha dessert. They serve both Matcha and Mochi dessert. This shop is located at the Santa Anita Mall outside the Nordstrom side on the second floor. Ordered Mango Montblanc Hojicha Parfait. This dessert contains the following: Hojicha jelly, whipped cream, mango puree, rice crispies, soft serve, mango mont blanc, mochi balls, and matcha chocolate leaf. This cool mango treat was sweet, creamy, chewy, crunchy and refreshing on a hot day. The matcha was both sweet and bitter in taste. Service was great and friendly staff.

Strawberry wakoucha and matcha shake
Ana T.

The strawberry wakoucha was SO good. I forgot to do less sugar but turns out regular sugar wasnt even sweet! The tea is very strong bc i ended up not sleeping the rest of the night even though i only drank half. And the strawberry foam doesnt taste weird. Tastes like the strawberry thats usually in japanese chocolate but it's not too sweet at all. I also tried a sip of the matcha shake and can say it tastes like the ones I had in Japan, very strong and slightly bitter too. Both were such a pleasant surprise!

Matcha latte

This is located on the second floor towards the Nordstrom. They have a kiosk! The staff are nice and the order arrived at a decent time. There's mall seating nearby but it makes for a chill environment nearby. The matcha cream mochi is delicious. It's light and just sweet enough. It makes for a good sweet treat after a meal. The matcha latte is really good and you can feel the texture. I got the less sweet option amd that was just right for me. I'd only wish it wasn't so full of ice. But otherwise I'd return to try more from the menu.

Long line for bogo event
Rebecca L.

Long line. Not sure how good the drinks are tho. But probably wouldn't buy at regular price since it's about $9.5-10 for a 16oz.. but for bogo i dont mind trying it xD Got a matcha shake and grape shake

Why did I come to Arcadia Mall....ya to visit the Longines Store... The Matcha was a gamble. I've had matcha in places I didn't enjoy. But this place has it right. Ordered the Banana Creme Matcha Latte 1/2 Sugar 2 Pumps with coffee bits ; enjoyed the subtleness of the bananas, the presence of the tannins but balanced away with the mixture of ice, creme, sugar and the hint of bitterness. Like you aren't sacrificing the tea experience everything feels wholesome. Glad I gave this place a shot. A lot of the stores / food establishments in this mall come and go. The weather really calmed down today, after the raging winds of yesterday.

Matcha shake
Amy N.

This is one of many drink places open at Santa Anita mall. I tried it for the first time yesterday and really liked the matcha drinks here! The matcha flavor is very strong, and the caffeine content seems pretty high. My friends and I tried the matcha shake and the matcha latte with sakura foam (50% sweetness). I loved the Matcha Shake, which was basically a drinkable matcha soft serve. The matcha latte with sakura foam was also good, although it was very bitter (which is probably because we ordered 50% sweetness). My friend also ordered a strawberry mochi for herself (which I personally did not try); she said it was very good and the mochi was soft. Service was pretty quick; our drinks were ready in a few minutes. There is some seating around the shop.

We went in and my goodness the place is colorful, like a circus of random things of toys, trinkets, accessories and fridges full of packed desserts. I was eyeing their fresh slices of pies and cakes, especially the carrot cake (someone before us bought one and I was curious too), but their late chocolate chip cookies looked super good, too bad the ice cream sandwiches in the fridge only had snickerdoodles, but their hand written menu and ice cream flavors was our final decision. Today's Flavors definitely means something special, but their triple organic milk was unique. It tasted like fresh sweet milk, tastes even better on top of a brownie and with an extra topping (chocolate balls). More people started coming in and given the space we decided to go back with our ice cream, they have chairs outside where lots of people were eating their ice cream too. Overall, I can tell this place is special, very cute and the staff are very friendly. May come back for that carrot cake next time.

I tried the lychee and matcha soft serve flavors, and ended up getting the matcha flavor. Those flavors were good, the lychee and matcha were pungent. But the texture of the soft serve wasn't my favorite. The texture wasn't my favorite, it was more of an icy texture as oppose to a creamy silky texture which I would have preferred. I usually like the Oreo topping on my soft serve since it gives it a crunch, but it just didn't taste that good after a few bites. This soft serve was also a bit pricey, it was around $7 for the soft serve and topping, which was a bit disappointing since it wasn't that great. My friend also got their crunchy nut ice cream and didn't like it. I wish I liked this place more since they have Asian flavors but unfortunately it wasn't my favorite. Maybe if they improve the texture of their soft serve, I would reconsider.

Dessert spot that specializes in soft serve and taiyaki. I came in at a time when it wasn't busy,…read moreso my service was really quick and friendly. The place was pretty chill as well. I had just eaten dinner so I've kept it pretty simple here. I ordered the swirl with pure milk and pineapple dole whip. A simple yet tasty and satisfying combo. The girl working the counter was a young girl just getting by her summer day job. She was nice but timid. It was our first time there and a little more energy on her end could've been better. Ordered the ube swirl, pineapple dole whip, mung bean taiyaki, and a custard one togo. The taiyaki that goes onto the ice cream is a lot bigger than one we ordered to go. I thought it would be as big, but when I got it, it was so much smaller and flat. Also, the taiyaki that goes on top of the ice cream was old. It had been sitting there for a while or was made earlier as it was hard and difficult to bite. The red bean inside I also assumed was a paste like how they make the Japanese version, however there were whole pieces in there. It was okay, but I thought they'd be like paste. Overall, the only thing that was good was the ube swirl and the pineapple dole whip. It was also extremely warm in the shop, like no AC in the triple digits summer heat. Had to eat it elsewhere. I most likely won't be back.
