The young woman at the front entrance was very kind and asked another associate to help me. Unfortunately, the second associate wasn't nearly as friendly or welcoming. I was interested in the Diptyque candles because I wanted to purchase one for my sister, but after smelling them, I didn't think they were as impressive as the Diptyque perfumes I already own. I was actually glad I didn't do a blind buy. The associate then directed me to the Byredo fragrance counter. I wanted a Byredo candle, but I wasn't looking to spend $95 on one. While browsing online, I noticed there was a smaller size available, but the associate never mentioned that option. The candle selection in the store was also very limited and seemed to be low in stock. When I told him I'd just order online, his attitude became noticeably dismissive once he realized I wasn't purchasing the $95 candle. He did offer to place an online order for store pickup, but by that point I no longer felt comfortable purchasing through him. Between his attitude and my earlier interaction with the second associate, I simply didn't feel valued as a customer. I then went up to the third floor, where the experience unfortunately didn't improve. Although several sales associates walked past me, no one greeted me or offered assistance. I finally stopped one associate and asked if the candles on display were the only ones available. She replied that she was on her break and could find someone else to help. I asked if she could simply answer my question, and she responded, "I don't know." At that point, I was extremely frustrated. Thankfully, my experience completely turned around when I reached the customer service register. The two gentlemen working there were incredibly kind, patient, and understanding. I'll admit I probably came across as frustrated, but that was only because of the multiple negative interactions I'd already experienced. They noticed I was on a scooter wearing a walking boot and treated me with genuine care and respect. One of the associates was Micah S., and he and his coworker provided the level of customer service I had hoped to receive throughout the store. They listened, understood my concerns, and made me feel appreciated as a customer. They truly deserve recognition--and if anyone has earned a bonus or a raise, it's those two gentlemen.

I trust them with my credit card and make orders on both the Men's and Women's (Ann Mashburn) for my wife whenever we need something and the service is seamless. I find the level of service at the DC store to be perfectly akin to their flagship store in Atlanta which now has an incredible coffee bar as well. I will be posting this same review to Ann Mashburn's site as well because they have done an amazing job serving the female side of my family. Beautiful clothes and AMAZING service. The main reason I was compelled to write a review now is because of an act of kindness which has transpired in the past week. My wife experienced a health issue in the past that has changed her physique in ways where not all the same clothes she used to wear will fit her and it's not easy for her to find outfits that suit her EXTREMELY well. She happened to try on a "sample" outfit not too long ago with which she absolutely fell in love. Knowing that it was a sample outfit and the fabric was no longer available, she left the store quite upset that she found something that really worked....but buying it wasn't an option. I spoke with the GM of the store, Keon, and one of my favorite salesmen, Conor, who initially didn't think it would be possible as they wouldn't have the sample from which others could try on for that size. When I visited the store last week, I curiously inquired again about whether there was any chance they may make an exception so that I could surprise my wife with an amazing gift. I know that the DC guys went beyond anything I would have ever expected as I received a call later that day where Conor informed me that they would be amenable to delivering the dress to my wife. It's difficult to find this level of a shop and group of folks who recognized how much this meant to me and my wife and went against there normal and very strict policies to make someone who has been through tough health issues incredibly happy. I don't think I can express how grateful I am to be able to shop at this store (because it's not cheap); however, the value of the clothes paired with the service is a bargain!

We had no wiggle room since he was departing for the event on an early morning train the next day. David and Blu were absolutely lovely -- polite, professional, and genuinely interested in helping us. David measured my son and patiently explained sizing and fit for the different cuts. Blu made great suggestions about how to put together an age-appropriate, event-appropriate look. Both were respectful of our budget and suggested options at multiple price points, acknowledging my son would continue to grow and his style might change. We were very happy with the selection and put together three killer outfits. All of that made for a very nice customer service experience, and I would have been ecstatic with that, but David and Blu went above and beyond. When my son and I rushed out of the store to grab a quick dinner and head home to pack, David noticed that we had accidentally left behind one of the ties we bought. He took the time to look up my number to call to let us know to turn around, and he and Blu met us at the door a half hour after closing to make sure we got it. They could have waited until the next day to "find" it, or waited until I figured it out myself, but they did a kind and decent thing and called right away. I worked in retail, and I know that it is objectively annoying for customers to come in at the last minute with crazy requests. It is even more annoying to have to chase those customers down after closing because they were too frenetic to notice they left some of their things behind. (I'm sorry! We're not bad people!) If they were (justifiably) irritated, David and Blu didn't show it. They treated us like we were the first customers of the day right after their first cup of coffee, even a half hour after closing. My son left feeling excited and confident, and I left feeling relieved that I wasn't going to have to find a potato sack and do my best impression of a Project Runway contestant. I shop at BR often, and the level of care and professionalism at this location stood out.I hope BR recognizes what an incredible team they have. Kelvin, Todd, and Nimat represent the brand at its best, and I wouldn't be surprised -- and would be thrilled -- to see any of them move up within the company. Sideny took the time to listen when I shared how my luggage was temporarily misplaced. She offered empathy and helped me feel grounded in an unfamiliar city. Kelvin was incredible when it came to styling. He helped me build outfits with the pieces I had in the luggage I was reunited with. Todd was equally helpful, helping me find pieces to match an item I had just purchases in the store. Whenever I travel for professional reasons, I look for a sense of familiarity in the places I visit. This store, especially these three team members, gave me that and more.
