Service was ok, quick over the counter. The donuts - got them on a Sunday morning, an hour after opening. The donuts tasted a day old. And the "warm" cinnamon rolls were not warm at all and super dry.

Cute and nice little place for the first time in my life I had a vegan cinnamon donut and let me tell u it was good good.. soft delicious with good flavor I was extremely surprised. Nice place little spot good variety but I only wanted a cinnamons sugar donut so I had to get it. Clean place good service. And I bought one their sticker too :)

This donut place was fantastic and I regret not coming back when I had the time to grab some more of their incredible donuts. We were on our way to a concert so we just bought a donut to share as a sweet treat while we walked to the venue, after we had eaten dinner in Boston Public Market. We couldn't resist the tempting variety of donuts they had. The person working the counter was pleasant and pretty quick. He seemed super chill even if my photo of him seems quite different, lol. The stand itself was clean, albeit small, and I loved the way they displayed the donuts so you could see how they looked and see what was out. Shockingly, there wasn't much out for so late at night. I will admit that they are a bit pricey, but they are also pretty big and very delicious. Worth the splurge.

Boston Cream Donut

Kiosk location in Boston Public Market, with donuts that are obviously transported in. I can't say it's a bad donut, but for $5, you don't get a fresh one. Boston Cream: Excellent dark chocolate, but cold. Good filling, extra points for custard, but points lost for being cold. Stale underlying donut. Like biting into a baseball glove. And this at 9am. I miss the days when they were a single store on Somerville Avenue, hustling instead of coasting, and when you had a chance of getting a warm one.

Great location near City Hall. Delicious donuts and beverage selection. Fresh and unique flavors, such as, Sweet Corn & Blueberry and Salted Brown Butter Cruller. The gentleman that helped us, was friendly and efficient. He even asked if we had a preference on how he packed the donuts, given the unique flavors and frosting. It's counter service - and the menus were easily accessible. The station was small and neatly organized. There wasn't a line when we went, which was nice. We only knew they were here, because we saw a few people walk by with boxes...so we knew we had to try them. I will definitely stop here again the next time we are in town.

I don't know why I came back to USD after not liking it the first time but I just wanted to prove myself wrong because they look so appealing. But oh my god how disappointing these donuts are. I wouldn't even call them donuts at this point they lack that fluffy and airy aspect of an actual donut. They literally taste like frosted brioche buns. They don't even taste fresh either. The beautifully crafted pastries just lure you in but don't fall for it! And they are crazy expensive! Definitely not worth it. There are so many other places in Boston that topple USD. However customer service was very good. They were patient with me and overall very friendly. Two stars only for them.

Shamrock shake doughnut with mint buttercream filling for St. Patrick's Day

We tried the shamrock shake doughnut (mint buttercream filling) on St. Patrick's Day, and the cinnamon roll, and both were great. Nice selection of flavors available. Clean facility and quick service.

Loved the donuts we bought. We walked past the first day but said we would go back the next. It's hard to find a good donut now days. I got a whisky glazed and my husband got a maple bacon. Weren't too much but weren't underwhelming. The dough was perfect. Fluffy but also just a good donut!

We recently tried the donuts at this location again after a long time. As usual they have plenty of options. You order and they bag it up for you right there. We got three flavors - S'mores, Red Currant Crunch, Dubai Chocolate Bar. The favorite of the lot was the Dubai chocolate bar. While it is more expensive than a typical donut, it is so tasty. I love the pistachio filling and the crunch of the vermicelli and I was happy to introduce it to my visitors who were eating this for the first time. The next best was the red currant crunch which had a slight tartness to it. The s'mores wasn't anything to write home about, just very marshmallow-y and sticky.

Apple Cider Cake Donut

Got a recommendation by our trolley driver that their favorite donut in the city was the Apple Cider Cake Donut at Union Square Donuts. After a few minutes of hunting around in the Boston Public Market, we found the booth - wrapped around a support pillar. The donut itself was cake donut that was super crusty on the outside (think extra deep fried). Flavor was good too. It really hit the spot for me. I'm the type that really likes the cragly bits on an apple fritter.

Boston cream donut

We got the milk and cookies donut and the boston cream donut. I liked the milk and cookies donut better than the boston cream donut. The donuts didn't taste too fresh but the flavor was alright. I wish they could warm it or something.

Dubai Chocolate and Boston Cream.

I loved the donuts here. I went to the location by Harvard and liked it so much I went again to the one in the Boston Public Market. I got the Cruller, Dubai Chocolate and of course the Boston Cream. I love Dubai Chocolate so I had to try it and didn't think it would be great but it exceeded my expectations. The pistachio cream actually had the kataifi in it giving it that crispy texture. I was planning on only taking a few bites but finished the whole thing. I got it at the Union Square location. The other 2 donuts were amazing as well. I liked Union better than Kanes.

Came here on a Tuesday morning around 9:30 am and there were several flavors available to try. I'm usually a plain glazed donut type of gal, but went for the Boston cream pie donut since I just moved here and it seemed appropriate. The icing was great - and I'm not even an icing fan! The chocolate was velvety but not overpowering nor too rich. The donut itself was fluffy with a good amount of filling. Price was standard fancy donut pricing & service was fast & friendly!

The breaded part of the donuts was so delicious and tasted like fried dough at the beach or a carnival. So good! The line was moving slowly, despite only two customers ahead of us, which kind of surprised us. There were three people behind the counter, so I'm not sure why it took so long, but we were patient and enjoyed the donuts very much! Not really any ambiance is present here because it is an order-based line and the space constraints keep them from offering any tables, but the aim here is efficiently getting people in and out. So this does the job. Great donuts! Highly recommend!

Not necessarily my favorite type, I prefer more cake type with some density but these were pretty good. I came late so the fritters were gone but he was able to pull together a bag of mixed smaller fritter pieces which I enjoyed. If this was an Apple fritter, they were missing the Apple? Still the sugar on the bottom and the wonderful cinnamon taste made me eat them all. The best donut left looked to be the jelly filled. Haven't enjoyed one of these in a while. Still as good as I remembered. The fancy donuts looked to be gluten free, they had a ton of them. Probably because nobody likes gluten free donuts... Kane's reminded me of a great local donut shop with a touch of class. If I was close by I'd grab them again but likely to seek out another shop in Boston to compare next time I'm back.

I'm reviewing the menu choices as I wait on line. I have one couple in front of me finishing up. I could go for a nice hot cup of coffee along with my doughnut. I walk up to the window and ask, Do you sell coffee? No, just doughnuts. Water? No, just doughnuts. When in Boston, how do you pass up a Boston Crème Doughnut? Well, when they're making Apple Fritters from scratch, everything else will have to wait until my next visit. I pay for my fritter and sit at one of the outdoor tables. The bar next door has a live band playing, it's a good night in Boston as I take a bite of my fritter. First, this is a warm treat. They must of made the fritter and kept it warm in the small oven. The exterior shell is almost crunchy as I get big chucks of fresh apples. This fritter is like a big hug, each bite is warm and comforting. Back Door Donuts, you did a great job the other day! My Apple Fritter was fresh and tasted great. I sure was thirsty tho...
