    Chocolate glazed donut

I've been wanting to try this place for a while, and finally headed down at around noon this past weekend to get some donuts. The donuts were pretty good, I enjoyed my glazed one and the chocolate was good as well (yet very crumbly, it practically fell apart in my hand). Overall they were sweet, soft and tasted fresh. My only gripe was that the cashier was still helping the customer in front of us when she began to try and take our order. There was no line or need to rush, so I think it would seem more courteous to take your time with each customer, or simply allow them to finish paying before you move on to the next. The donuts were good though!

We arrived around noon on a Saturday and while we know it's a bit on the later side, we were disappointed to see they were pretty much cleared out. I thought it would have been stocked more similarly to their pastry shops, but it was vastly different. The woman with the short hair behind the counter wasn't very friendly, bordering on rude. Especially in comparison to the other woman with the blond hair who was more pleasant. We grabbed the last cinnamon roll, 2 glazed donuts, an egg with cheese on a croissant and a cold brew. The cold brew was $6, seems kinda steep. The glazed so nuts were good, I'd definitely get them again. But it was downhill from there. Coffee was mediocre, the cinnamon bun tasted like the ones you can get at a NYC food truck. The croissant was practically burnt (I didn't ask for hit to be toasted), and the egg was seemingly pre-made a la Dunkin. That was kind of a bummer because the croissant looked good on the shelf.

Friendly staff, lots of regulars come here, I popped in because I wanted a fresh glazed donut and a small hot coffee. Perfect treat on a chilly April weekend afternoon. Prices are very reasonable. I will be back!

Pros: -Freshest dough in the city. Seriously, it's SO soft it deflates in your hands. -The staff here continue to be awesome. I was buying a dozen donuts ($10.99) with a $10 giftcard and a credit card. They must now have a credit card minimum because the woman assisting me told me she couldn't charge the $0.99, so she said I could just pay it next time. -Jelly is a frightening red color, which is actually a Pro because jelly donuts are the worst and this donut self-signals that you should steer clear. Cons: -Credit card minimum (not sure if $3 or $5) -Skimpy with the chocolate frosting

Great little neighborhood donut spot, there's usually a small line on the weekend but I had no problem going in the morning on a weekday. The staff are nice and the shop is exactly what you would expect of a neighborhood donut place -- cute, but nothing extravagant. The donuts are $1.40 each and they are delicious. I ordered a jelly donut which was very tasty and definitely seemed like they either made the jam from scratch or used a high quality raspberry jam. Would recommend stopping by if you're craving a sweet treat in the morning. Overall, a great stop in Mission Hill!

I'd say this place is probably on the same level as Dunkin's in terms of both quality and price. I came here on my own on a Sunday afternoon for some pre-museum fuel. Many of the flavors were already out, but I grabbed the very last glazed donut (yay!). Service was pretty decent, nothing spectacular. They have all the "classic" donut flavors, and not much other unique donut flavors that are all the rage these days. Coupled with the interior though, it's kind of nostalgic--it has that 1990's look and feel. Reminds me of my neighborhood's local donut shop I used to go as a kid. It's comforting! There is lots of seating, but most people take their food to go. For around a buck a donut, you can't really complain. The donut was pretty standard, nothing really special; it doesn't really differ much to a Dunkin Donut glazed donut to me (which is not anything negative because I'm a loyal Dunkin's customer LOL). I guess I was just expecting more. However, I'd choose this place over Dunkin's just because I want to support a local business. Still have yet to try their coffee! Would come again if ever in the area.

The donut was probably the most tender, fluffy, not overly sweet yeast donut that I've ever had.

If I had gone to the Harvard location I would have been in and out in 5-10 minutes. That was not the case at the North End location but in fairness it was Friday night and around the time people want dessert. The North End location had four lines from the counter to the door with the line out the door. They take cash only but while you wait you have plenty of time to decide on what you actually want to get. They have 10+ cannoli flavors plus many other pastries. We opted for a pistachio cannoli and a amaretto cannoli. The cannoli were twice the size of what I was anticipating so we split one on Friday and split the other on Saturday. If I went back I'd get the amaretto again. The pistachio was mostly ricotta tasting. If you go, go early and bring cash!

We walked into a space where the display cases are packed with cannoli, cakes, cookies, lobster tails, and countless Italian pastries, making it difficult to decide what to order. The atmosphere is busy and energetic, with a constant flow of customers, but the staff keeps the line moving surprisingly efficiently, managing the steady crowd with a practiced rhythm that makes the wait feel shorter than it looks. The cannoli are the signature item and the main reason to visit. The shells are crisp and filled to order with a rich, sweet ricotta filling that has a smooth texture without feeling overly heavy. There are plenty of flavors to choose from, including classics like chocolate chip and pistachio, along with seasonal and specialty options. The pistachio cannoli stands out for its generous coating of crushed pistachios, while the chocolate chip version offers a more traditional take that holds up well against the richness of the filling. Beyond the cannoli, the lobster tail pastry is another highlight, with its flaky layers and creamy filling that offers a different texture from the cannoli, and the bakery offers enough variety that it is worth trying more than one dessert. The portions are very generous, and most of the pastries are large enough to share, especially if you are planning to sample a few different items. Everything is displayed behind the counter, making it easy to browse before ordering, though having so many choices can make it take longer to decide. The biggest thing to plan for is the crowd. There is often a line extending outside, especially on weekends and during the summer, but it usually moves faster than it looks because the staff is well organized. Seating is extremely limited, so most people take their pastries to go. It is also worth remembering that the original North End location is cash only, so bringing cash can save you from any surprises. Mike's Pastry is a classic Boston destination that lives up to its reputation if you enjoy rich Italian pastries. The cannoli are the obvious reason to visit, but the wide selection, generous portions, and historic atmosphere make it worth experiencing at least once, even with the crowds.

Their gluten free (gf)/dairy free (df) donuts are also really good and actually preferred by many members of my family, as they are so moist and melt in your mouth. There are many options to choose from, along with monthly specials which are usually fun! Some of my favorites include their Boston cream, gf/df chocolate frosted, and their holiday themed donuts. My husband loves their gf/df glazed donut. Another big hit is their ginormous cinnamon roll! It's so flavorful and feeds many with its size. Their muffins are a huge hit and barely last in our house. Their bacon, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel is also pretty good. My husband is picky about coffee and doesn't mind theirs. Sometimes they have cupcakes available and they are so moist, full of flavor, and one of my absolute favorite things to get. The staff is usually friendly, but there are some staff that aren't as friendly as others. There is both indoor and outdoor seating available, however it is pretty small and when the line is long it comes close to the tables.
