They are very cold workers , they have a huge warehouse but they are very low on tile inventory. They told me that there is a special order for the tile that we chose,it could take about two weeks. We came back after little bit more than two weeks and was told that the tile arrived but it broke when they opened it so it might take another two weeks. This is the fourth time that it's happening with them. They might be good with countertops and maybe vanities and kitchen cabinets but that's it. In general the quality is very very low. The workers don't care how they deliver the material to the client. An OK place and maybe little bit less than that. read more

Uni-Tile is a large warehouse with lots of slabs of granite for kitchens located in industrial Hayward. None of them are for narrower bathroom counters. It's pretty much impossible to get any help or assistance unless you get in line at the front counter. Avoid weekends. I showed up about ten minutes before opening one Saturday morning and there must have been a dozen vehicles waiting for the front gate to open. By the opening of the front doors, there must have been thirty people waiting to get inside. We purchased a long pre-fabricated granite countertop with two bullnose edges for two bathroom vanities. We also bought a glass sink bowl and one of their China-branded bathroom faucets for the bowl. Got good prices from them. We used their granite installers and they did a good job. The problem we had was that Uni-Tile lost the particular granite counter we painstakingly selected and just sent us another counter of the same granite that they selected. I guess they didn't realize they couldn't find our counter until the day of the installation, so we didn't know about the switch until the installers showed up at our house with the wrong counter. My general contractor has had problems with their China-branded faucets, but the price was right, the design was right, and so far the faucet has held up for the short time we've had it. read more

I'm a repeat customer and had a very pleasant experience again today. I arrived on a Tuesday at 10am and there was no line for customer service. My rep reviewed my project + measurements and photos and I was finished in 15 minutes! The best part is they assemble the cabinets for you and hold for 14 days for pick up. If you need items delivered, their delivery fees are steep (I was quoted $350 to my zip code), so likely best to hire a contractor to pick up if you don't have a truck or trailer. My kitchen cabinets are their white shaker version and I've been pleased with how they've held up over the past 5 years with kids. My customer service rep explained that since they assemble to order, that if I return there would be a 25% restocking fee which seemed fair to me. Highly pleased with Uni Tile/Hayward! read more

There is no option to give 0 for this review. They have some good collections but customer service is horrible. They say that they will deliver the product but it's our responsibility to bring the items from the truck. They don't carry any equipment to put the products off the truck, even if the product weight is more than 1000 lbs. they ask customers to take care of it. Then why do you charge for the delivery if you don't carry anything to do curbside delivery at least. Their response is too bad to say anything about it. We can pay little more to get from a professional store. I will never go here. read more

Based on their customer service I'd rate them a zero. Their staff is rude and treat you like there are no choices around when in fact there are plenty of other places you can go. However, with that being said I am not returning. I have purchased here 3 previous times because our contractor lives in the area. It's understandable that slabs can be damaged, cracked, etc. Their staff gets annoyed when you ask them to go though slabs to search for good pieces. They make you feel pressured to make a selection you are spending good money on. Maybe management trains them that way? This update is a review of the installation. On the day of the scheduled installation, two guys came by my SF condo at around 11:30am. The larger of the two men (Big Guy) started measuring, and the smaller guy (Lil Guy) wandered around my condo and helped himself out onto my deck. Big Guy was kind of dopey, but he seemed to have his shit together. He asked me questions about my sink placement, where I wanted the seams, etc. Meanwhile, Lil Guy says something in Chinese to Big Guy, who then asked me if they could cut the granite on my balcony. I laughed, but he didn't seem to understand why that was so funny. I tried to explain to him that my HOA would get really pissed off, not to mention all the passing pedestrians on the street below. And I'm sure the owners of the M3, the A4, and the Prius parked below would love to return to their vehicles to discover them covered in granite dust. Big Guy said they'd have to go back to the shop to cut the granite, which is what I requested they do when I bought the slabs. I asked Big Guy how long it would take, and he said they'd be back at 5pm. Oddly, they had to go back to Hayward to do the cutting. Odd, because Uni-Tile has a shop a mere 10 minutes away from my place in SF. 6 hours later, they return with the cut slabs. They get right to business. Squirting liquid nails all over the place, positioning the slabs, and fine tuning the fit. I was impressed. But only until the part where one of the slabs wouldn't fit. It was a quarter inch too big, so Big Guy cuts up my drywall to make it fit. I was annoyed, but I got over it since the backsplash will soon cover the hole in my wall. After all the granite was laid, Lil Guy started caulking my undermount sink, and a few other joints. Meanwhile, Big Guy was mixing cement, adding colors to make sure it matched the stone, and started filling in the joints. They sure worked fast. Every now and then, Big Guy would do something stupid, like wipe the cement covered stick off on one of their tools, and Lil Guy would yell at him in Chinese. Lil Guy started digging through my trash can and found a bunch of crumpled up paper towels, which he used to wipe down the granite. I grabbed an inch-thick stack of new paper towels for them to use. Before Lil Guy could grab any, Big Guy grabbed the whole stack and used it as if it were one big towel to wipe down the acetone covered countertops. Lil Guy yelled at him again. From the stupid look on Big Guy's face, he had no idea that he had unnecessarily ruined a bunch of paper towels. I swear, these two guys were like a comedy duo, the way Big Guy would do something stupid and Lil Guy would yell. I wonder what my neighbors must have been thinking. When they were done, I noticed 4 big dents in my freshly painted walls. I noticed hand prints and finger prints on my brand new cabinets. I noticed the silicone caulking wasn't spread in a bead, but in a band that varied from 1-2 inches wide! I noticed a huge glob of liquid nails on my wall that must of squirted up when they pressed the backsplash on the wall. While none of this is excusable for a professional service, the liquid nails was the worst. It was the most obvious, and neither of them attempted to even bother cleaning it. They basically cleaned *around* it when they were wiping everything down. I asked them what they were going to do about it. Big Guy said that he can remove it, but I'll have to repaint. Fine, whatever. Luckily, I still had some leftover paint. I asked Big Guy about the dents in my wall, and he pointed to a container of spackle I had lying around (I had just painted my walls a couple days earlier). Then they left, without even offering to patch up my walls. I was pretty happy with the granite I chose, and as I was admiring how it looked in my kitchen, I noticed a colored blob on my peninsula. Most of it wiped it, and most of it came off. Unfortunately, the color was embedded in my stone. It wasn't until later that I realized it was the dye Big Guy was using to mix with the cement. Careless mofo. I thought about complaining about the installation and asking for a partial refund, to at least cover the time+cost of fixing everything they damaged. But after thinking it over, I realized that they wouldn't do anything about it and I would just piss me off even more. So I've just accepted it. Something else that bothered me about the installation was the placement and cuts of the slabs. The counter doesn't flow as well as I hoped they would (from piece to piece). It wasn't because of the slabs themselves, but it was because of the way they cut and installed. If they had simply reversed the cuts on two of the slabs, the whole countertop would have flowed much better, with the seams less visible. But these guys aren't artisans -- I'm sure this is the last thing on their minds when they're cutting the stones. Uni-Tile. You get what you pay for. read more

Do not shop here! My mother came here to buy tile, cabinet, shower door, sink and faucet for a bathroom remodel. The first time they cut the stone counter it broke and we needed to choose a new piece of stone. No biggie, I understand with a natural stone this can happen. I took this opportunity to make a design change and chose a quartz product. It turned out to be $88 cheaper and I was told mom would be refunded that amount. We also decided to return the faucet, no fault of Uni-Tile so the 10% restocking fee was to be expected. Again they said a refund would be mailed. The total due to mom is just shy of $200. Not a crazy amount but still! It is a refund that is DUE! Fast forward 6 weeks and numerous phone calls. No refund check. If you call the main number they will say to call Sharon in accounting then they give you a number that just rings and rings. You call the main number back and they give you a different number that is usually busy or goes to voicemail and the call is NEVER returned. Mom is starting a new kitchen. Guess where she is NOT shopping? Update: After a numerous calls and a trip to Uni-Tile where I had to stand in the showroom and insist on a cash refund while my mother who is undergoing chemo waited in a chair, we got a refund. After promising a check would be ready for us, it took an additional 30 minutes for them to finally give us the cash since,"the check was waiting to be signed". Right. We were told a string of flat out lies. If I had not been absolutely firm, mom would still be waiting for a refund. read more

I had a good experience here, although you have to know what you're after and as other reviews stated they're a no frills re-fab stone shop. I had no problem getting help and was able to pay and coordinate my contractor to pick my granite pre-fab slabs with no issues. Giving 5 stars since they're prices are just unbeatable for any where else in the bay area! (average price is about $300 for a pre-fab slab) I don't think the service is rude, they're just a light crew that are always busy, but when they get to you, which isn't that long of a wait, they're very friendly. But if you don't have a clue, cannot make up your mind and require a lot of hand-holding, then you should go to an upscale stone shop and get charged triple the price for an un-fabricated slab that your contractor will charge you another arm & leg to finish ... I'm not joking, I'm a veteran re-modeler now and everywhere else is double to triple these guys prices. read more

How can we see with our bare eyes at 2 different areas in their store when we came to select the slab, now even in 2 different days. Havent mentioned the customer service was really rude and bad. For our first kitchen remodeling, we did our homework and visited many granite countertop shops and found Uni-tile who not only had competitive pricing but also let us pick out our own slabs. For our second kitchen remodeling, our contractor recommended us to trek to Granite Expo in Oakland. We were disappointed with the selection (we were at the warehouse and not the showroom but the lady confirmed that the inventory would be the same) so on our way home we decided to swing by Uni-tile to see if they are still as impressive as we remembered. We were not disappointed. Spend a few hours in there and not only do we have our kitchen countertops picked out but also our bathrooms tiles. read more

Uni-Tile is a great place to source your granite and quartz counter-tops. They have standard as well as unique styles at very reasonable prices. Not all styles have samples, but you can purchase a small backsplash piece for $10 and return it after you have seen how it goes in your home. While paying for samples seems less than 5 star worthy, the lower prices make the "deposit" for samples seem very reasonable. You can do the same for flooring samples, although at a higher cost ($30). They also have flooring available including tile, laminate and hardwood floors. Again, their prices are highly competitive. If you are looking for a fancy type place, this isn't it. However, anyone considering remodeling their place should be ready to get their hands and clothes a bit dirty. It's part of the fun to pick things out yourself. Dan is a fantastic sales person to consider working with. The others seem nice too, so if he's not available, don't panic. For any home updates, Uni-Tile offers an excellent source. Some tips for optimal shopping: * Leave a copy of your purchase receipt at the store and provide the person picking up the supplies with the invoice number. This will make pick-up easy for them. * Plan to visit multiple times. If this stuff is going in your home for a long time, decisions don't happen instantly. * Wear a jacket if shopping in the winter. The warehouse is open and gets cold. * Ask how long special order items take to obtain. Sometimes it takes up to one week, so plan accordingly. read more

They lost our marble. We carefully selected and purchased our kitchen counter tops and backsplash here, paid and put the goofy sticker tape they give, showing the marble was purchased. Our contractor went to pick them up several days later and someone had switched the stickers, onto a totally ugly backsplash and taken our piece. We didn't discover this until after our contractor had already picked it up and cut it and Uni refused that it was their issue of allowing customers (or staff) to take someone else's paid for marble, even insisting that all pieces are similar. They stated that no one switches sticker and perhaps I was mistaken. Great prices, lousy inventory control. If you buy something, pick it t up that day or take a picture of the piece you pay for as proof. Very sad they would not even give a discount to replace the piece we never picked out. read more

This massive warehouse has a ginormous selection of insanely cheap slabs for counters. It's a little hectic but people were perfectly helpful when I managed to flag someone down. Note that this is a high volume/low price supplier; definitely don't expect white glove service when you go. EDITED: Due to a desperate search for Carrara marble in a time crunch, I literally have gone to every single prefab slab seller in the East Bay and beyond. I still like Unitile as a cheap purveyor (and the fact that you have free range through all of their slabs), but I'm reserving the 5 stars for NGY for better service and materials. read more

By the looks of this huge warehouse store, you can tell that this is where the contractors shop. It doesn't have all the frills of home improvement stores. Huge selection and I mean huge! Rows of granite, floor tile (travertine, porcelain, ceramic, slate, etc), bathroom and kitchen sinks, and faucets as far as the eye can see. They also have a great selection on bathroom vanities and kitchen cabinets which you can assemble yourself or have them assemble for you which takes about 30-40 minutes. We didn't have any difficulty bargaining with them. We were able to get our dual vanity cabinet for a really great price! Will definitely shop here again. Just wish that they had quartz too. read more

Prices are great. Logistics is terrible. Went on Monday to purchase items needed only to find out that the sales person neglected to input in the invoice an item. I left to leave in charge my brother in-law of the pickup. He then notifies me of the mishap. I had no choice but to make a second trip to get the forgotten item. I order the piece again and I wait for a long time. Multiple times I ask why the wait. There is really no clear answer. My observation is there is a big opportunity in prioritizing handling orders. Sadly the loading team has poor sense of urgency or regard of people's time. Perhaps my business won't make or break this company but it is evident that there is broken piece in leadership. Tip. Ensure you make time to get your items loaded. And most important review your order even if it looks like sales person inputted all items. read more

I went there to get bathroom mirrors, they called me immediately to the counter and asked me what I want and I paid them, but after that they took almost 30 minutes to bring my mirrors out. I could have seen guy coming bringing my mirrors but he wasn't getting to me, because he was talking to in the way with other people. I can't describe any more how slow they were. I can definitely see why this place has 3 stars. Im not one to write bad reviews but Im writing to hopefully teach them how to be more helpful to their customers. I was trying to choose a backsplash so i went up to one of the ladies who worked there and asked her if they have samples, she said no. I kindly asked if theres any way I can buy a few of them just to see which one I like with my countertop, then bring it back and buy backsplash in bulk, and she said no very rudely. I asked what she'd suggest in this case because I wanted to see which looked best but she just kind of stared at me blankly. No other comment, no help, etc. if you work somewhere like this you should try to help your customers who are working hard to customize their homes. You should atleast act like you care to help. I dont like giving business to people who are just simply there to make money rather than to actually be helpful. Id rather pay a little bit more and work with a business that actually cares about their customers. read more

Great deals on bathroom wall packages helped to make the three bathrooms affordable even with high ceilings the quartz panels were perfect and look beautiful! The pricing on marble and granite is unbeatable.. wish we knew about this place when we did our last kitchen!! The decorator marble tile squares really saved us about 50% of the big box stores as well. They don't have a lot of help but if you know what you want to do or can go check it out & maybe with your contractor you can find great deals and have many choices! I am a huge fan of this warehouse store, but let me be clear, this review is for the prefab granite and quartz slabs. Our contractor was actually surprised and asked "how did you know about that place?" after claiming that his granite guy could get us the best rates around for any granite. Since Uni Tile's prices are so low, he could be buying it there and still selling it to his clients more cheaply than they could find elsewhere. After visiting dozens of granite places, we never found a selection as big or prices comparable to Uni Tile. As other reviewers have mentioned, customer service can be slow, but we had no problems with having them show us all the slabs of a given type so we could pick the 10 we needed. This is not the place to go if you need hand holding, design help, or have a lot of questions. Do your homework first and you'll find what you need at a low cost. You will need to find your own way to have the granite picked up and delivered to your home. Still the savings were worth it and we get many compliments on our kitchen counters. I cannot comment on the cabinets or tile. I did not think the cabinets looked particularly well-made. For tile, I strongly recommend Casa Viva which is just around the corner. read more

I went here to buy my countertop and sink. The lady Angela who helped me was very nice and helpful so i bought $2k of material. When i went to pick up my countertop, they told me they ran out of the that material and only has bullnose quartz. I was fine with it since my contractor was going to cut it. When i went home and unwrapped the sink, i noticed dents in them. I took it back and told them to replace it for me. They refused to do so because they said i should have inspected before taking it home. It was my mistake but then i was in a hurry and the sink was wrapped. I figured they are a big company and that they would not sell me dent material. I requested to speak to the manger "Vance" i think thats his name. He told me he has no authority to make the exchange that i have to wait for someone higher to come in to make the decision in about 3 hours. My contractor are working and in need of the sink to make the cut, and yet i am stuck arguing over a $160 of sink. He didn't make the effort to help me. The labor who sold it to me remember and requested he should call the higher manger and to replace my sink, but then he yelled at him for making the effort. I didn't want to get the nice old man in trouble so I bought another one. If its up to me, i would fire Vance, what a poor customer service these people have. If i nought it at Lows or Home Depot, i would return it with no questions asked. Please inspect everything before purchasing from this store. read more

After purchasing my contractor goes to pick up the slab and they tell him that they have sold our piece of granite we purchased, we call them and just tell us "oh yes we sold your piece of granite if you want another it will be 1 month." They prioritize people they know or who can speak their language. Don't ever use their installation service if you don't want to be on the phone for hours talking to their rude manager and telling him he needs to send another set of workers who know how to install countertops properly. The workers they sent to install our countertop did a very, very poor job. It was so bad that they had to have it redone by another contractor. Our house was dusty because they didn't seal off the area. They cut the granite countertops in our backyard and destroyed some of our plants. They just left the granite in our trash bin. The WORST customer service! They are rude and treat customers poorly. They sell cabinets which are boxed for self-assembly but they don't provide instructions! We discovered that when we got the package home and opened. When I went back to ask for instructions they said "sorry don't have any". And then when I asked the owner what a certain piece was for, he treated me like I was stupid and was bothering him. We also paid for a marble countertop. We also had Gordon's drawing of the set up. We came back 2 weeks later to pick it up and discovered that they failed to finish the edge! It was wrong! They wouldn't just fix it and instead said we have to wait another 2 weeks for another one! They also wouldn't give us our money back! This is the WORST experience I've had. I'm appalled. read more
