Be VERY careful placing orders with this business. They do NOT stand behind their process if they make an error. I ordered expensive doors from them and the order was completely incorrect. The two people who took my order were totally disinterested in making my order right. They passed the issue back and forth until I finally gave up. I was VERY specific about what I wanted. The doors arrived missing two of the main features. When I called Moulding Direct I was told that Simpson did not offer the features that I had ordered. I knew this wasn't true because I had spoken to San Leandro Door prior about the same exact Simpson Doors which included the features I wanted. The only reason I went with Moulding Direct is because my contractor had a working relationship with them. In addition, one of the doors was broken and had to be repaired on site at MY cost. Thanks to a knowledgeable friend, we discovered that Moulding Direct has amazing prices on laminate flooring! We ended up purchasing beautiful flooring at $1.99 per square foot. My husband and a friend did the install themselves and it looks absolutely gorgeous. I stepped in to Moulding Direct on Friday and was immediately met with a friendly greeting. A gentleman walked around the counter and introduced himself ( I totally forgot his name since I had so much on my mind. Maybe his name was Steve?) I was in a hurry so he directed me towards the baseboards by the entrance, as well as, the back wall. I knew what size I wanted and asked him how much they were going for. Once I knew they were cheaper than the other guys, I walked out and let him know I will be sending my contractor to pick some up on Saturday. Awesome people and place! Found this place online and wasn't really sure they dealt with non-contractors, but was in the neighborhood and swung by. A big sign over the door welcomes homeowners. We just re-did our floors and were pricing out baseboards to finish the job. The price was half as much as the big name stores!! Score! Another issue we had was how to get the 16 ft boards home... they offered to deliver! Don, the salesman, also chatted with us a bit and offered a lot of advice to newbie DIYers, even some tips on cutting scarf joints. (He was awesome). They said they would either deliver the next or following day... 9 am the next morning we got a call and they product was there just after. I only wish we found this place before we did our floors! They had an amazing selection of flooring at a great price. From now on, this is our go to place! Thank you for such an awesome experience... especially to Don. Ordered interior doors for our house. We paid more here (Lowe's was cheaper) to get the doors earlier. 2 days after placing the order, we were told that the doors will arrive 4 days later than promised!! It threw our project haywire since we had other subs planned accordingly. Plus we might as well have ordered from Lowe's. After the doors arrived, we found 3 doors missing. The driver had no clue, we were never informed by their team about this. Another stressful event. They ordered the missing doors again and delayed our project further. On top of that, the closet door that was delivered was of the wrong finish. Whats the point of ordering from a local business if they don't care to honor the delivery dates, check the shipment beforehand, and ensure that all items are correct? Their communication style wasn't courteous either. I would not recommend buying from this store. Too much pain! read more

He is a versatile sales company that deals with not only moulding and doors, but floor covering and has a list of contractors to refer if you need installation too. I bought over 200 linear feet of crown here in Alder, and Oak. I knew which designs I wanted after looking them up in the little black of mouldings which I picked up from FMD Distributors in Santa Clara. The prices here were very competitive vs The Moulding Company in Santa Clara and FMD Distributors. They had to special order my crown but had it delivered within 2 days. I spoke to Chris on the phone and he worked up a quote and arranged delivery for $40 to San Jose, I paid vs credit card. I had asked them to do a pre-inspection on the crown moldings and when they delivered it, they found 3 cracked 15 ft length pieces which they replaced later that day. I had my cabinet maker (John Longabaugh from CMT Woodcraft) professionally stain it with a spray gun. I still found one run that had a crack in it, but my contractor/ installer (Eddie Hernandez from EHR) managed to use it somehow, he had to use wood filler and then stain it to make use of it. Very competitive on price, I just wish they did a thorough pre-inspection prior to delivery of crown moulding. I would still buy again from them. 4 stars. read more

I was shopping for crown moulding for my condo and found Moulding Direct on Yelp. My realtor suggested a store in Concord but when I compared prices on a particular moulding I wanted, their prices were about the same. Chris (I believe he is the owner) said he could special order them for me and it would only take 2 days. I ended up getting an in stock item which they delivered for free (in San Leandro). They called the morning of the delivery date to alert me that they were on their way. The guy who delivered (Chris' brother-in-law) helped my boyfriend carry 18 of those 16 ft mouldings up three flights of stairs. And he wouldn't accept a tip! Seriously, these guys are great - what else can you ask for? Great prices, reliable, super efficient service. Shop here - don't bother going anywhere else. read more

Found these guys via craigslist. I am a perfectionist but will do my research to find the best value for exactly what I want. Their prices, quality and options were so much better than your Home Depot variety which is never stored with much care. I'd definitely suggest getting your trim here. Great products if you can stand poor customer service. My contractor made a few mistakes in ordering products. After we fired him we attempted to have the issues corrected via our new contractor and they spoke negatively of us to our new contractor not knowing our situation nor who really made the mistakes. The other day i walked into the store right past 3 employees of were just shooting the breeze, they did not greet me, ask me if i needed any help or how can how help you, I'm remodeling 2 homes currently and need approx 950 linear feet of base boards and casings. After about 10 minutes of choosing a style i walked to my truck to get note pad and right past the same 3 guys who still said absolutely nothing to me! If My business is not worth some simple common courtesy then they don't deserve my business! I left and will not recommend this company to others. I have now been to Moulding Direct twice. The first time was in search of bead board wainscoting. Chris was very knowledgeable and easy to work with. He offered this product in so many options. There were multiple beads available in pine, mdf, sheets, strips, oak, etc. All in all there were almost too many choices. Fortunately, he had actually put some up recently in the showroom so I was able to see it up close and in person. I went with some tongue in groove beadboard. He was very good at helping me match up the baseboard and cap for the wainscoting. Further, his prices were lower than others I had already seen in Concord and had a better selection than home depot/lowes. He was able to get all of my custom ordered material in under 2 days. When my project was delayed he held onto the materials for me for an extra week saving me the trouble of dealing with 16 foot long wood material. Lastly, I was in there again for some replacement moulding. Without referring to a catalogue or his showroom he was able to tell me the who/what/where of the matching replacement baseboard. Even though he didn't stock it in the material I was after, painted pine, he was able to order it for me custom and commit to a 2 day delivery. I am extremely happy to have such a great resource in San Leandro. This business is extremely customer focused, good price and convenient. I highly recommend Moulding Direct. read more
