I was referred to Cultured Marble Products by my kitchen and bath designer, PZG Interiors. She had used this company for numerous East Bay Area bathroom design projects. I visited the San Leandro showroom on Friday, March 7, 2025, and met with representative Mike Cobb, who was patient and thorough in answering all my questions and explained the process without any pressure. I visited the showroom a second time on Friday, March 14. Again, Mike was patient, thorough and knowledgeable, so I was confident I wanted to move forward with my bathroom shower project. Though this was a small project, timing was critical in order for me to keep my sanity as I have only one bathroom. I was so impressed with Mike and confident that I was in good hands that I pulled the trigger to start the demo of my shower on Monday, March 24 with the goal to have installation complete by Friday, April 2. Two weeks was a tight timeline, as I needed a custom shower pan; but CMP was able to get the measuring done, the custom pan fabricated and the delivery/installation within our tight timeframe. The installers were professional, competent and timely. They communicated their arrival time and were able to troubleshoot on the spot . The final project looks amazing. I am extremely happy with the quality of the material and the overall look of my new shower. Working with Mike at CMP was easy and as stress-free as a project like this can be. I'm giving Cultured Marble one star only because they did two shower enclosures and one bathroom countertop for us some years ago which turned out pretty well. I would give them no stars based on their customer service. I would not recommend them AT ALL. We called to get an estimate and they finally came out after one week. From beginning to end, it seemed like it was an inconvenience to them. The estimator was very impersonal And could not give us many details that we asked other than saying that someone ( I believe her name was Leslie, but there was somebody else that I spoke to as well ) would call us that same day or the next with the estimate. It might've been the language barrier, but he clearly seemed like he was doing us a favor by being there. Finally after four days when I hadn't heard anything, I called and it seemed like they didn't even have the estimate and said they had to ask the guy that came out here for it and that it hadn't been turned in yet. At least that's what they told me. I really think that they lost the estimate, but they could have been honest and told us that and had someone come out to re-estimate. I didn't hear anything else in another four or five days, I called again and asked about where our estimate was. This was 10:30 AM on a Wednesday morning and apparently they said it was being worked on and they would email me as soon as it was done. I assumed it would be that day as they were working on it and we had planned to go see some examples of marble on Thursday or Friday. When I asked about their hours, they clearly told me on Friday even though the hours go till five the doors close at four because everyone wanted to start their weekend. It just seemed like the customer was not a priority through the whole process especially a repeat customer who spent a lot of money giving them business years ago. I don't think any one who worked there would've been pleased if there was some work they wanted done in their own homes, and were treated the way we were. I Was the one making the phone calls and all the effort trying to get information rather than the other way around. When I didn't hear back with the estimate after a few days, I decided to give our business to someone who wanted it and called another place that had really good reviews and they came came out essentially the next day for an estimate and within two weeks we had our countertop. I can't say enough positive things about them. That is how you treat a customer and what restores your faith that there are good people and businesses who value customer service. Oh, also, at least a month has gone by and we never did get that estimate from Cultured Marble..... read more

wow wow wow. I cannot get over how spectacular my bathroom shower/ tub walls look now! I decided to put marble in my rental property rather than tile, since grout is always a problem, not to mention a lot of work. I spoke with Selena a couple months ago, she was very helpful and always very kind. The installers were 30 minutes early (you always assume they are going to be late, right?) and were done in one hour. The bathroom is just gorgeous. I recommend getting the soap dish, even though it adds to the cost, it is well worth it. The installation guys were very polite, friendly, cleaned up after the work was done. We had Cultured Marble come out and install a custom shower Pan and enclosure for our bathroom remodel a few years back. They did an amazing job with the look of the shower we had them come back and make his and hers sinks in two of our bathrooms and a single basin in another. We had to have the come back out a couple of times to fix the caulking around the sinks shortly after install but there was no issue with that. Recently we noticed separation of the wall of our shower from the wall it is affixed to. The caulking separation is pretty severe. Not just small cracks. I sent pictures of this to Cultured Marble. After some back and forth over the phone, they indicated that we were out of the warranty period but they could send a technician out to fix the issue. I asked them what that would entail and they said it would be injecting silicone behind the wall to make sure it's affixed and then caulking around the seams. They said it would cost around $200 for this repair. I made it very clear that if this was just going to be caulking the perimeter I could do that and I was assured it was not just that. Today the technician showed up and said that even though they said they could add silicone behind the wall they in fact could not because he was worried he could crack the wall to get the silicone behind it. Instead he was just going to silicone the perimeter. He called the office and when I spoke with the very nice young lady Selena (sic) she recalled that I in fact did say that I would not want them to do the caulking of that was all that would be done. She spoke with her manager Monica who insisted that I had to pay $35 for the technician coming out here despite them telling me they were going to silicone the back of the wall. Selena tried one more time to get Monica to waive the fee since I clearly said that if it was only a perimeter fix I would do it myself and she refused to do so. We spent thousands with them and they still charged us $35 even though they assured it was going to be more than just caulking the perimeter. I informed them that we would not be utilizing them for our other two bathrooms which we will be remodeling in the near future. Great work Monica!!!! Hope it was worth it. read more

I have to work with this company as my new house builder chose them as the subcontractor for all the vanity countertops. TL;DR: terrible company to work with, low quality for both the products they make and their employees, simply walk away if you can! If I could give negative ratings, I would definitely give one to them. Long story: bought a new house and unfortunately this CMP company was chosen as the subcontractor by the builder for all the vanity countertops, when inspecting the countertops, I found there were dents, chips on the countertops and also the backslashes, so contacted the builder to file work orders to them to fix the problems. After a month or so, they came back to fix just two issues out of the ten+ issues filed on paper, asked them to go back and return with the list of things to fix, after waiting another month or more, they came back wanting to only fix those two issues again, spending months of time doing the same thing... After some unpleasant conversations with them, they then came back to fix the issues unwillingly, well the nightmare just started from then. The technician they sent didn't know how to fix the marble countertop, he sanded the dented areas too far which caused the top coating layer to go away and the ugly dark bubbles to surface, damaging my countertop for my whole house! Had to ask them to replace all the countertops. Ok, they agreed to replace them, but each time they deliver the so-called replacements, the quality just got worse and worse: dents, chips, unpainted areas, droops of excessive paint... Basically what they were doing was perfunctory patch fixing work and they just wanted the customers to go away. They agreed to make new parts, but instead they were just patch fixing the bad parts over and over again. This is also a very dishonest company. Their personnel are also horrible, not to name individuals in this review to protect privacy, but their customer support managers are just horrible. Visited their shop once, left me alone after I arrived for more than 30 mins, they never cared about any customers who paid off the money. Not to mention I was hearing them swearing in their offices all the time. Trust me, save yourself money, hassle and headache dealing with this company, choose someone else with better quality. read more

I spoke with this company a number of times about replacing the small shower in my master bathroom with a larger one. In fact, I went into their showroom - twice - with photos of the space and a detailed scale diagram of exactly what I wanted to do. The employee with whom I spoke wrote up an estimate and helped me to choose the exact product I wanted to use. I also spoke with her supervisor while I was there. Neither said anything about any particular difficulty with the project. I then went ahead and demolished the old, prefab shower in preparation. The company then sent out a man to take final measurements. He also said nothing about any particular difficulties with the project. Two days later, I was informed that they couldn't do the job, both because the custom sized pan was too difficult to fabricate and because installation would be too difficult. This left me with no shower in my master bathroom and nobody to install a new one! While I appreciate the fact that the company was honest and didn't try to tackle a job they thought they could not complete, they should have known that the job would be too difficult (or, at least, *perhaps* too difficult) before I tore out my existing shower. With regard to the pan and based on what they said about the difficulty in fabrication, the difficulty should have been obvious from the detailed diagram that I created and took in to their showroom. With regard to installation of the pan and based on what they said about the difficulty in installation, the difficulty should have been obvious both from the diagram and from the photos of the space that I showed the employee in the showroom. It appears that the company has good products, but this experience was unforgivable. Between my detailed diagram and my photos, they should have been able to tell me that the job looked like it presented serious difficulties and that they might not be able to do the job. Instead, it appears that they essentially hid that from me until after final measurements were taken. If they had been upfront, I would have been on notice before demolishing my old shower, and I might have chosen either not to do so at all or to have come up with a backup plan before moving ahead. VERY disappointing and VERY bad customer service! Be warned!! read more

Unfortunately, they do not open on weekends, so my husband and I took a day off to come here. I did call first to ask if they do business in San Francisco and they explained that they do, as long as there is sufficient parking and space to cut onsite, so we made a special trip. We loved the selection and the products and were ready to order; however, we found out that they do not deliver to San Francisco because the City has been giving them fines for all the dust from cutting the marble onsite. They are willing to sell to you if you live in San Francisco, but your contractor will need to pick it up and install it. Just wanted to put this out there in case there are other customers from San Francisco who are considering this place. I still give 4 stars because their products and selection are good. read more

I purchased a custom shower pan and cultured marble surround for my master bath and cultured marble tub surround for my hall bath. when they came to install the shower pan it was wrong so they had to redo, which put me behind, after that got installed a few months went by and the caulking at the top of the shower surround in both bathrooms began shrinking and gaps appeared. Neither of these bath rooms have been used. They came back and recalled. Then a few months after that same thing, caulk began shrinking and were showing gaps. I called the today and they refused to repair again, said something like it was my problem now. I would never recommend this company to anyone ever!!!!!!!!! I have used this company for years on my projects. Always on time and with the product I ordered. Competitive prices and friendly staff to explain differences in materials and colors. They used to have more seconds/blems I could use on rentals but less and less to come by. Still love them. I recommend you always order the double shampoo/soap holders and corner holders. I have now used CMP's cultured onyx products in three bathrooms, for shower pans/surrounds, bath surround, vanity tops, and other applications. This manufactured stone is beautiful, and is very easy to care for and keep clean. Their front office can be a bit iffy, depending on who you get, but the products and installation service are first rate. read more

Who knew cultured marble looked so good? Needed to update my very dated bathroom, and this place was recommended by a neighbor. Yeah, I didn't know what cultured marble was either. It's manufactured to look like other more expensive stuff (think granite, onyx, or marble), only it is WAY less expensive and lots more durable. The showroom is nice - they had lots of different samples and even let me take home several squares of sample material to keep. The make it right there, and they also install it, so you aren't paying all these huge markups that you get in other showrooms. Been around a long time, family-owned, seem to really know their stuff. Also have people on staff who can do a full bathroom redesign/remodel if you want to go that route. I just picked out new stuff for my bathroom sink counter, the walls around my tub (apparently called shower panels), and they made it and installed it. I did my own paint job and VOILA! It's like a new bathroom. read more
