Nice wine selection in a friendly, relaxed and comfortable environment. Always a thoroughly enjoyable experience. One of my favorites in Berks Co. read more

This spot has an amazing bartender, Brianna. She's got serious skills and drink knowledge. She always seems to be in a good mood, she's personable, and she has a great sense of humor. Brianna is constantly talking to customers, crafting cocktails, cutting garnishes, handling transactions, organizing products and glassware, keeping her space clean and more with such a great attitude and poise. It's really mesmerizing to watch her. I love this place. The best cocktails in town. Food is delicious too! read more

Stuck up atmosphere, every time I go, I can't wait to leave.

We had my sisters Bridal Shower at Winedown Cafe and everything exceeded expectations. The staff was attentive and professional and we couldn't have asked for a better experience. The ambiance and space was perfect for a bridal shower and the intimate atmosphere made the day so special! Everyone absolutely loved the food and wine. I highly recommend Winedown for special events. Special thanks to Brie & Courtney for organizing the event. read more

Great, friendly staff! Was in town from Michigan and stopped in to have some drinks. Great prices! One of the employees even shared some of her favorite places around to check out while we were in town. read more

I have visited Winedown every few months (not nearly as often as I'd like) since they opened and the experience is always great. Their wine selection is extensive (and delicious) and their food selection is much more than you would expect from a wine bar (and delicious). To top it off, the staff is superb. They continue to grow and offer more to their customers.... they've expanded into the space next to them, opened a whiskey bar, they offer wine classes... I can't wait to see what's next! read more

uncorkd - Wine Bars Near Me - West Reading, Pennsylvania

This place was terrible! Not only did the host rudely gesture to an empty seat but it took the waitress over ten minutes to arrive to take my order. It was a busy night, so I figured they may have been short staffed.... I suppose that is also why I took over 30 minutes for my salad to be thrown together... I'll not be returning here. read more

Came to winedown with some friends based on the yelp reviews for a couple glasses of wine. The bartenders recommended different wines for each of us. Unfortunately, one of the glasses ended up being quite gritty, but no one said anything. I'm confident the bar would've replaced it with a fresh glass from a new bottle. None of us were quite impressed with the wine, though none of it was corked or oxidized. They were kind enough to move us outside when a table opened up. Some of the crew tried the goat cheese bruschetta which was decidedly not that great either. Because its convenient and moderately priced, but we'll probably be a bit more wary of the wine and maybe move more towards cocktails. read more

Good dessert and coffee. Excellent wine and beer selection. Modern design. Nice wood. Pleasant service. Lovely atmosphere. Very laid back and cozy. read more

Nice atmosphere. Good finger foods. I suspect the servers/bartenders are not as knowledge about the wine as may be perceived. Not a bad choice, but certainly not a sophisticated wine bar. read more

Lovely, sophisticated and charming. Great for couples and friends. Such a nice place to enjoy a small bite and a glass of refreshing wine.

Met some friends there, was worried as wine really isn't my thing. Was very pleasantly shocked at how nice the place is. Nice selection of beers as well as wines. Good vibe, little upscale but not pretentious at all. We will be adding this place to our regular list. read more

Fantastic place to eat, drink, and unwine! Excellent food menu with unusual pairings that all will like. More than just wine, Winedown Cafe offers a good selection of beer and cocktails and an extensive list of bourbon. Reasonable prices and excellent service will have us coming back soon! You guys rock!! read more

Another great night enjoying some wine at a great location in West Reading. The bartender and staff are always happy to deliver great service and to chat with. Enjoy some wine, an appetizer or dessert, you will not be disappointed. read more

Always a great place to "Winedown" after a busy day. Girls night, happy hour or private events Ben takes superior care of your needs and the staff is always happy to meet your needs. It's like Cheers without Norm. read more

If you're looking for a really quiet place with ambience than this is the place! The only problem is the menu is doesn't have a lot of options. Wish they had more wine options to choose from. Love the setting and feel of the place though! read more

Just came from this quaint little place. Staff was knowledgeable and very helpful with the selections. We had already eaten so we got the "Tiger cake".... We all decided it should be called Zebra cake....but it was delicious and went perfectly with our wine selections. Will visit again when in town. read more

Brianna is a awesome manager. Always makes sure everyone is taken care of. Nice place to go !

My husband and I were in town for a local trade show yesterday and happened upon this wonderful little gem. Let me start by saying that Bri is awesome! She's the manager, but we also had the pleasure of having her as our server. Unique flavor profiles beautifully presented in a relaxed environment with a cool vibe. Great wine selection as well. This place does it right! read more

My husband and I chose The Winedown Café to celebrate our anniversary and what a delightful choice. Our meals were perfect in every way ( Balsamic Dijon Filet and Ahi Tuna ) : perfectly cooked, perfect portions and beautifully presented. The service was attentive and professional , while being comfortable and welcoming. The staff and owners are doing something right! We are so happy to have discovered this little gem of a place. We will return soon! read more

Winedown is truly another great spot to visit in West Reading! I visited on a Wednesday night to meet up with a friend on a casual date. My first visit was quick, so this time I was able to actually look over the drink selection. I'm a sucker for Sangria, so I tried their White Wine version. I enjoyed it so much, I didn't try anything else. My friend, a red wine drinker, seemed to enjoy all of his selections. I will admit i'm not the biggest cheese connoisseur and my friend had the bartender select the cheese for us, so I can't even say what I ate. I tried all three, and favored one over the other two. I enjoyed the opportunity to try different kinds! The wait staff was very attentive and enjoyable and I already recommend the place to a co-worker who is a big wine drinker. Will definitely be back! read more

My wife and get to the Wine Down as often as we can which is several times a month. We enjoy the selection of wine and food. The staff is always pleasant and make you feel welcome. Now that you can purchase the wine you tasted on site make it even better read more

Decided to come back for dinner, just the wife and I, and see if the first review stuck or if it was a fluke. Survey says...5 stars again! Seriously, can I give this place 6 stars? New additions to the menu for spring all sounded incredible, wish we could have tried them all. Stuck with the Brie and cherry toast for appetizer but tried the cheesteak eggrolls as well, not a new addition but we didn't try previously. As before the toast is exceptional. Bread is perfectly toasty, Brie is creamy and cherries are sweet. Cheesteak rolls were excellent as well, very crispy but not oily or over fried. For dinner my wife had the shrimp and grits, which she said was excellent. I had the dijon balsamic filet and it was perfectly cooked, tender and the sauce was incredible. Again the portions are the perfect size, so we had dessert. This time they added a lemoncello cake that was phenomenal! Perfect end to the meal, light refreshing and sweet. I cannot give enough compliments when it comes to the food and consistency of this place. What a gem in West Reading! Will absolutely return and tell everyone we know about this place! read more

Fantastic wine bar! Great quality and variety of wines. Excellent, knowledgeable staff to help you better explore and enjoy the complexity of the wines. Delicious sandwiches, cheese plates and desserts! Perfect intimate atmosphere. Love it! read more

Super cute and cozy. Great place to go with friends to catch up over great drinks and light food.

The Winedown was hoppin' when I was there, and I can see why. There's no better place in Berks to enjoy a glass of wine and some great conversation. The staff is the best around-- friendly, conscientious, knowledgeable, and just down-right cool. The quality is consistently high, and if you haven't been there yet, you owe it to yourself to go. It's perfect for before or after dinner or a show, but also be sure to check out the food. They do light fare very well, and it all pairs wonderfully with the wines. Not a oenophile? They have fab cocktails and beer as well. Swank, but without an ounce of pretension, Winedown tops my list of places to go in Reading! read more

Amazing wine and drink selection. Food is a bit overpriced for the amount you get, but it's nice to be able to try new cheeses and things that I wouldn't normally try! Cute and quaint outdoor seating as well. read more

Whiskey Yes, Food no. Disappointed in the not pork belly (bacon!). Could be so much more.

3 words. Fried. Goat. Cheese. Do not go without eating this plate. Excellent ambiance if you like cozy. Great for a pre-dinner snack and libation. read more

This small and intimate venue is ideal for a date, a small gathering, or a place to lounge after dinner. They specialize in wine and cheeses/snacks to go with that wine - the selection is big but not too big, and while the food is somewhat pricey, you do get what you pay for. The ambiance is warm and inviting, they have a full bar, some two-tops, and lounge chairs in the back. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming. While I wouldn't suggest this place for dinner, I would definitely suggest this for a place to go after dinner, for dessert, or if you're just looking for a classy place to have a drink (or two!). The jazz music they have playing in the background, the dim lighting, the great selection of wine...it all melds together in this beautiful little diamond-in-the-rough in the city of Reading. It's such a delight to find a place like this, and furthermore, it's such a delight to go there whether you are a wine enthusiast or not - the quality of the wine/food and the ambiance is sure to win you over. There aren't many places like this - if you're in the mood for something fresh and unique, come to Winedown. read more

I love winedown. Many of the bars in the area have terrible wine selections, or the bartenders give you a strange look if you ask to see their wine list. I'm certainly not an expert, but I have enjoyed all of the wines I've tried (all reds), and I appreciate that the menu offers descriptions to lead you in the right direction. The food is wonderful...I've had cheese plates, bruschetta, flat breads, hummus, and salads. Most of the portions are small and in the traditional tapas style; however, the salad was entree size. The food is everything you'd want to pair with wine, so I loved it. The interior of the building is long and narrow, so the seating is pretty unique. There are stools at the bar, couches around tables, and even a few tables in the small but cute alley outside. The environment really lends itself to having intimate conversations, as long as you're okay with possibly sitting on a couch next to the people with who you are there. The service has always been great, and we even received free homemade cake when it was an employee's birthday. read more

Went out for happy hour yesterday and had a great time! Great wine for really good prices especially during happy hour. They also have a good selection of happy hour appetizers that are good and well priced. Relaxed atmosphere & great service. I'll go back again and again. I will also recommend to anyone. 430-7 pm happy hour rocks! read more

I love hanging out here with Ben and his staff when I'm in my hometown. Great selection of wine and light fare in a nice intimate space. For those complaining that the space doesn't accommodate groups, hello, it's a West Reading row house. You want big space, I'm sure we'd all be happy for you to take your entourage down the avenue to Viva. read more

Really nice ambiance, wonderful selection of beer, cocktails and wine. I didn't eat when I was here most recently, but will next time I return! They have happy hour and Wednesday specials for certain drinks and food items. The bartenders/servers were all very nice and attentive. Definitely will return sometime soon! read more

Went there because I saw the reviews looking for some place different, was very disappointed. Bartenders were unattentive . Wasn't even busy. Didn't get to try food because we felt very bizarre...felt very clicky. Weird. read more

This place is awesome. Great wine selection, great service. Very private and intimate. Wonderful gathering place for friends. One of the best kept secrets in West Reading. Love it. read more

I'll tell ya what - Winedown has great food, great wine and a great location. However, the service almost NEVER comes with a smile. It's as though the bartenders really don't want to be working, and they are doing it just because they have to. I would definitely frequent Winedown more if the bartenders acted like they enjoyed their job. read more

Excellent wine and whiskey selection. Good service and fun atmosphere. Could use some more jazz as music but a minor quibble.

I have always enjoyed my experiences at Winedown but when I overhear the owner talking down to his staff- it really puts a damper on my evening. I come here to leave the office antics and instantly reminded of terrible bosses. I hope he changes his attitude towards his staff because until then, a costumer is lost. read more

Updated: We still love Winedown. It isn't always easy to create a consistent experience for customers over time but everyone at Winedown not only does that but has made it better with the addition of the Whiskey room next door creating additional drink selections and on top of that some amazing menu options that make wondering what your dinner might be the topic of discussion during the day (waiting to hear what the special is). The best is the team...everyone is so amazing, it is still the best reason to be there. read more
