As far as breakfast or lunch (in our case) is concerned, Maple Room in Hancock made the cut. Not for their 'fine dining' ingredients- but really, as the ONLY thing that was actually operating on a desolate and late Tuesday morning. The Maple Room is Hancock House Hotel's bar on the left side and dining room to the right. We chose the first. It has an all-around counter, an 'internet jukebox' ¯\_(ツ)_/¯, booth seating and high-tops. We decided to pull-up at the bar. Seltzer in our drinks was fresh and so were the Fish & Chips basket my husband ordered and my Fried Fish Sandwich. Our server Sherry has been around a while- yet was quick. Maple Room feels dated. But the food was comforting and I was digging the Bryan Adams and Huey Lewis & The News music though.

We loved the old school diner vibe of the exterior -- the interior is comfortable and bright. We encountered a few people there all of whom took really great care of us -- and even though it got busy during lunchtime, we weren't rushed through our meal.
