    the dining room

Driving here from my mom's she kept thinking we were going the wrong way since we went a different way then we'd normally go to Roscoe. What a cute place, we basically had the dining area to ourselves except it would've been cooler to sit by the river, that room but we showed up with no reservations for a ton of us so we were happy we could just sit down anyway. My pasta was amazing, place was really quaint. I'd definitely come back here and highly recommend them. Even the salad was delicious and lots of places tend to somehow mess that up but not this place. I wish I took more pictures.

Spider webs at the check in door

Our sheets were dirty. Muddy boot tracks on the floor. Sticky bathroom. The doorway to our room was covered in spider webs with so many spiders it was like a scene from a scary movie (wolf spiders). The room smelt wet and moldy. Winter bedding on the beds in July with 90 degree weather. Multiple spiders in the room too. It was the only place we could stay because everywhere was booked. The review is only about the motel. We did not try to restaurant.

The two of them are a dynamic duo who complement each other perfectly and could not have been more accommodating throughout the entire wedding planning process. They had brilliant ideas and great vision from the very start. Mary helped plan all of the logistics of the weekend and baked a delicious cake. She was also a great resource for local vendors within the community. Mark was a master chef and the go to person when it came to last minute items (My family and friends are still talking about the food). We very much appreciate their generosity--of time, support, and thoughtful ideas--and cannot thank them enough for all of their hard work. It truly paid off. The grounds were very well kept and there was always something to do with the pool and lake activities. Most importantly, thanks to Mark and Mary's attention to detail, we were able to thoroughly enjoy our wedding. Thank you so much Mary and Mark!!! Jay and Kathleen

Bed, kitchenette with cooking supplies , dining table, a small ref , stove top and toilet and shower with a view. A cute big window next to bed is the main attraction of the cabin. For two consecutive mornings, we stayed longer in bed and enjoyed the beautiful view from our window. During our nighttime stays , we truly enjoyed the campfire. Woods, starter and s'mores are supplied. I am still waiting if my credit card will be charged for these provisions . I read a review posted which was before Post Card Cabins was bought by Marriot that they hit a charge for these supplies plus for some snacks and drinks on the kitchen countertop . The Adirondack chairs outside are comfortable . The picnic table is perfect for a nice dining outdoor with a beautiful nature vibes. Our cabin area was so serene, we had a privacy as the next door cabin is hundred feet away from us. Western Catskills is a perfect location for us as our goal of coming here was to escape the city to relax and reset during the stay. If you have same goal, this kind of setting is recommended for you. This is your escape place.

We reserved the place just in time for the autumn peak season in the area. The place was about 2.5-3 hours drive from where we live, the trip itself was delightful due to the colorful leaves on trees that we passed by. The charming retreat was easy enough to find with the help of GPS. There were several tiny cabins in the compound which were designated with names so that guest could easily find them. Cabins are far enough from each other to provide privacy for each separate guest. Be sure to drive slow when in the compound as the ground was a little rough. Each cabin guest has a designated parking spot which is neat. The cabin that we were assigned to has several outdoor stairs, a short walk from the parking spot to the cabin, cabin is situated on top of a hill which gives guest a nice view from the cabin. Outside of each cabin, they provided a fire pit, picnic table, 2 lounge chairs and fire logs with fire starters. For us to get in to the cabin, they provided us with a code so that we can electronically unlock the door. The cabin was cute and tiny but they have provided all the essentials which included a comfortable queen's bed, small table, mini-refrigerator, a kitchenette, two burner stove, coffee supplies, kitchen utensils, paper towels, complimentary smores kit, coat hooks, toilet paper, towels, body wash, conditioner, shampoo, flushing toilet, hot shower and a few more. You won't believe that all of it could fit in that cute cabin. They kept the cabin tidy and clean. The best thing that I love in the cabin is the large picture window, my wife and I had that feeling where we sort of just wanted to stay in bed, cuddle and stare at the nature outside the large picture window. In summation, my wife and I had a wonderful time at this tiny cabin compound, we had a peaceful campfire each night that we stayed, savored the tranquility of the place, took pleasure in touring the small town of Roscoe, admired the nearby reservoir, found joy in hiking some nearby trails, appreciated finding/exploring covered bridges and had fun visiting a nearby brewery. Our overall experience was relaxing, peaceful and an exceptional escape from city life, with minimal-to-no Wi-Fi or TV, which encourages disconnection and quietude. DEFINITELY, DEFINITELY RECOMMENDABLE !!!

I booked our cabin stay through hotels.com. The following day I received a phone call from the resort asking me for the credit card information as hotels.com did not charge us directly. No big deal. When I initially booked the cabin I didn't do my research as I usually do and was freaked out when I read that a guest had bed bugs in their room. So naturally when I received the phone call from the resort it was the perfect time to ask if they have had or were recently experiencing any issues with bed bugs. The lady (I forgot her name) told me that they did have an issue but that they only had an issue because the guest that wrote the review about the room having bugs were the ones who had brought them. I wasn't sure how I felt about that, but I had planned an entire weekend, a holiday weekend at that so I decided to give it a go. Besides the lady was nice and kinda put my worries at ease. We arrived on a Friday evening. Maria checked us in and she was just as nice. Upon getting to our room "9A" we noticed there was no place to park. I called Maria to ask her where we could park and she said she would send someone to clear out our parking spot. It had snowed a few days before so there was a bit of snow still on the grounds. Within a few minutes someone was there clearing out our parking spot. The room itself was small but cozy. It seemed like nobody had been there in some time. The bathroom was a nice size and pretty clean. I immediately started looking for bed bugs but luckily didn't find any. Thank you Jesus! LOL My only complaints are these. One of the locks on the door was broken. There weren't any toiletries, not even a small bar of soap to bathe with. And lastly, although there were no bed bugs (thank you again Jesus) I found what looked like dead bug stains on the comforter. I would have liked to give them a three and a half rating but it wasn't possible so I gotta give them a three. All in all, we were happy with our stay. Employees were nice, room was decent, and the view was fascinating. We would definitely return, and we would definitely recommend.

But Kate and Dan structured our stay to feel safe without feeling restricted. They have a great setup of six family size tents that are distanced enough to allow us to enjoy nature in solitude. They combine the best parts of camping, cabin life and a bed and breakfast. We took our two kids (five and eight years old) and they had a ball playing in the creek, swimming in the pond, playing with the dogs. In short, it's a perfect place for kids to experience the simple joys of being kids. The tents are rustic enough for an outdoorsman but comfortable enough for someone who prefers sleeping indoors. Cooking meals on your own wood-burning stove takes a bit longer, yes, but the locally sourced food is amazing. Friday night pizza night is the big event of the week. Wood-fired oven pizzas, delicious salads from the gardens and bring your own wine. And the Saturday farm breakfast hits the spot if you're dragging a bit from the previous evening's festivities. We highly recommend Stony Creek as a getaway and hope to be back next year. Thanks, Kate and Dan!

The kids love it- my 10 year old told me that this was her favorite trip and we have paid much more and traveled much further than this. The adults love giving the kids their privacy and independence. The kids are able to hike, walk the creek, collect eggs, visit the animals, milk the cow.. and the adults just need to sit back and relax. The farm store has everything you need if you want to pack light. Kate and Dan, the owners, are commited to sustainable farming and education- the kids always learn something. Save room for pizza night- it's always delicious. The tents sleep a family of 6 comfortably with a king size bed, two single bunks, and a cabinet bed suitable for two younger kids. When we needed it, there was room for a pack and play (which the farm does have on hand if you need it). Don't hesitate to book here- we've been here for all seasons- the first to check in and the last to check out. It's always pleasant. We're already looking forward to next year.

The…read moreinn was clearly a motel in a previous life, as it had that lengthy structure with outdoor entrances to each room. The parking lot was gravel-based, so vehicles were parked a bit haphazardly, but the lot's spaciousness ensured that it was not really an issue. The hotel was right on the stream with a lovely grassy area dotted with Adirondack chairs, hammocks, and other ways to enjoy the view. The office was located right next to that little park and was also where the continental buffet breakfast was served. The small room had a great view of the water from its few tables. The breakfast options included various hot beverages, several types of milk, yogurt, berries, granola, pastries, breads, hard-boiled eggs, lox, tomatoes, cucumbers, and more. It was really the perfect few bites to start the day with energy and wellness. While the inn had a few larger cabins, many of the rooms were supposedly rather tiny, including ours. The room had a queen-sized bed, nightstand, wall-mounted television, and wooden desk with matching chair. There was a closet with some hanging and shelving space, as well as a hair dryer and coffeemaker. The room really left a lot to be desired from a space perspective, as it was hard to navigate. For instance, the room might have come with 2 luggage racks, but there was really only space for one. The bathroom was also tiny, and it was near impossible to use the toilet without sideswiping the pedestal sink on your way. The shower was a decent size at least. The bathroom came with fluffy towels and Aveda products, which were both appreciated. We also loved that the temperature and pressure of the water were phenomenal; in fact, the shower was like a fire hose! Though the room was small, it was SPOTLESS! Also, its individual heater packed a great deal of warmth. There was not an abundance of electrical outlets, but the alarm clock had one built in, as well as two USB ports. The extremely gracious staff had also left a binder of local recommendations for us on the table. The bed, however, was lumpy, and the pillows were cheap and uncomfortable. From a location standpoint, the inn was only a few blocks from either end of town, depending on which way you wanted to travel. The residential roads were very dark at night and many did not have sidewalks, so we definitely needed to be alert walking to and from the main drag, even though we knew the town was overly safe. The Woodstock Inn on the Millstream made up for its lack of amenities and small rooms with efficient, friendly service and clear dedication to guest satisfaction.
