This is a tough review because I genuinely wanted to give this place a 5/5. I worked with the team to cater brunch for my fiancé's birthday and the planning process was fantastic. Communication was seamless, they helped create a custom birthday cake with flavors I requested, and the entire ordering experience was smooth and stress-free. The food was outstanding. From the bread and cinnamon rolls to the focaccia and cake, everything was fresh, delicious, and a huge hit with our group. I had a prepaid order of over $250 scheduled for 8:00 a.m. pickup, right when the café opened. We arrived about 15 minutes early.. because it was raining and simply hoped to wait somewhere covered until pickup time. We weren't expecting the order early or asking anyone to rush. Given the size of the order, the custom cake, and the fact that I had brought someone with me to help carry everything, we just wanted to avoid standing outside in the rain. When I knocked on the door, I could see several staff members inside. One employee looked at us and gestured toward the clock, essentially pointing out that they weren't open yet. I completely understand that we arrived early, and I respect opening hours. What bothered me was how the situation was handled. A simple "We'll be open at 8" or "Sorry, we can't let anyone in until opening" would have been perfectly reasonable. Instead, the interaction felt unnecessarily cold. Even once we were inside, the employee helping us came across as dismissive and unwelcoming. It was especially disappointing because every interaction I'd had over email leading up to the event had been so thoughtful, friendly, and accommodating. The food was exceptional, and the planning process was excellent. I just wish the same level of hospitality had carried through to the pickup experience. Had that interaction been handled with a bit more warmth, this would have easily been a 5-star review. Cute little cafe by the mountain. Inside vibes is somewhere I want to work from or sit with my hipster beanie and book for four hours. My friends got the cinnamon buns which they highly enjoyed and I got their oatmeal cup for a quick bite, which was a good size, and came with some warmed dates in it for sweetness (but not too sweet). The coffees were both good and cinnamon bun was delicious!! I would get again! The apple crumb cake was good but wasn't my favorite. The cutest little coffee shop. We stopped at twice different signs on a Sunday. They get fairly busy so at some points it is hard to find a seat. The Fellow Mountain Cafe is the perfect spot for a great coffee and brunch. The staff is very friendly and the cafe is adorable. They have a great variety of food options and a good selection of baked goods available daily. They are very well known for their cinnamon buns as well. After a coffee, many cookies ordered, yogurt, fruit to go, and what looked like the most delicious egg sandwich on fresh bread, we alll left very happy. Anyway, they've all been there since the place opened, and they're miles more pleasant than the owner, who's the kind of douche who shows up occasionally and yells into his phone the whole time and will point to a rag left on the counter like "what's this doing here?" Are your hands broken, buddy? While I'd never endure the expensive/mediocre cuisine and bartenders who can't make drinks at Scribner/Prospect again, the food here is pretty good. We've had most things on the menu, and it's all solid. Idk what the half sandwich dude is talking about; their egg sandwiches are massive, like need a nap after massive. And a giant slab of focaccia for like $4 is a pretty good value. Not a fan of the Brooklyn Invasion/positioning of the Catskills as a brand/rural gentrification but I'll take a decent cup of coffee where I can get it read more

My friend and I are coffee lovers and we needed a coffee spot to start our morning and accomplish the day, well... we're so glad we found this place. It gets crowded, I could understand why, it's the perfect spot for a morning coffee with a side of whatever you want, everything they have looks good. I have been to Fellow Mountain Cafe twice for breakfast and both times have been consistently good. The service was quick and the staff has been nice. The breakfast is made to order. They have pastries, breakfast/lunch sandwiches, granola, oatmeal, salad, and soup. For drinks they have coffee/lattes, hot cocoa, tea, mimosas, and they even sell canned beer. They brew Peaks Coffee which is awesome because Peaks is my favorite Syracuse coffee shop. Only thing is they do not have almond milk, just oat and regular milk. Street parking, no parking lot. They have outdoor and indoor seating. This place has turned into one of my go-to places during my ski weekends. I will definitely come back here every time I go to Hunter Mountain. read more

I don't get it...a place that opens at 8AM, and the entire staff, except for the guy with blonde hair and glasses, are rude, inattentive, and downright surly. You can walk in, on any given day, with no one ahead of you in line, and you will stand there, waiting, waiting, waiting, while the rest of the staff slams things around, completely ignoring you. They're still rubbing sleep dirt out of their eyes, and adjusting the clothes they probably slept in, while acting completely clueless, and befuddled. You will not be greeted, no one will say, "I'll be with you in a moment," or anything remotely resembling any kind of customer service. The crown jewel of the operation is the slightly heavy woman with the dirty blondish hair and (sometimes) glasses, who has no skills whatsoever, and no people skills. If you dig a little deeper into Fellow's reviews, you will see a common thread connecting all of the bad reviews. And it's her, the front woman of the operation... Added to that, imagine the lousiest music one could imagine playing that early in the morning, and you've had the complete "Fellow" experience. It doesn't matter how good the coffee or breakfast items are, you end up feeling assaulted somehow. And you get to pay for it! Shame on Scribner's, and the "Escape Hospitality Group", a bunch of hosers from Brooklyn, who could care less about this town, this community, or its values and expectations. They're only interested in bringing their tragic vision of NYC to Hunter. They own Fellow, and apparently don't even care to read their own reviews, but that doesn't surprise me, given how they run that place...steer clear, you can find many better, more hospitable places to spend your $$$ than Fellow... read more
