My stay at River Run BB was amazing, Ben went above and beyond to make sure we were all taking care of, I showed up with 10 other Miata owners and Ben made sure we could park our cars out back and not on the street! the rooms were decorated beautifully, the beds were super comfortable. You could also take a history tour through the main living area's of things of the past which was pretty cool. Breakfast was great, and the coffee was delish! Incredibly charming stay with some modern comfort. The whole experience at River Run was great. Booking was easy. Ben was incredibly accommodating with my late arrival. Street parking was convenient. The building is incredibly cute with a nice porch and some cozy indoor spaces. The room and bed were comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and up to contemporary standards with modern plumbing and fixtures. Breakfast was delicious, especially the warm muffins. Okay let me start off by agreeing with the masses...Ben...is awesome. From the moment I called ahead to ask if we can come early, and I already felt like I was talking to family......to us checking out, and him leaving us with one last tip-stop to make on our drive back to Jersey. He was warm and welcoming, without being hoovering. He gave us suggestions, made us maps, even knew the venue of the wedding I was going to that I couldn't even remember. Really, him alone...and his doggy, made the stay 5++. Now on to the rest. I live in suburban Jersey, and coming here to this home, felt like a secret vintage getaway. It was a beautiful home, with a large porch and open door policy. Taking a walk around the rooms, there was so much history in all it's presentation. I particularly got a good laugh out of the "rate what kind of wife you are". Our rooms, as well as the rest of the home appeared very clean. Ben was kind enough to upgrade our room so we had a private bathroom which was a nice bonus. The bed was incredibly comfortable that we even joked about asking him what kind it was. In the morning Ben would whip up something delicious, as well as have an additional spread of other treats - cereal, muffins, bagels, yogurt, etc. I particularly liked the touch of to-go cups for the coffee. The area itself was very relaxing. The house has a large backyard, where you can sit in peace by the creek. In just walking distance to the house was a grocery store, liquor store, restaurants, and then some. Parking is right in front of the house. DEFINITIVELY recommend. read more

Fantastic B&B! We stay at different places in the Catskills depending on what we're up to (drive times can add up around the Park). This was our first stay here and we'll certainly be back. Ben is a great host: warm, amiable, and fond of the area. I wasn't feeling well at the start of our trip, and he was certainly helpful. The place has all sorts of interesting knickknacks and family items. There's a fireplace downstairs and an assortment of board games. It's also quite toasty in winter! Sometimes older homes or hotels in the Catskills are kind of chilly. Not here. We stayed in the Esopus room: very large, with a private bathroom, television, and pullout couch. Breakfast included a warm option (an apple bake one day and a cheese potato bake the next), granola with yogurt, fresh pineapple, and dried fruit toppings. There are boiled eggs, cereals, and breads too. Abundant and delicious! More than anything, there's a warmth and hospitality at River Run that you don't see often (and I'm in the industry). It's the kind of place that you almost want to keep secret. read more

This is a very lovely B&B. And yes Ben is awesome. He gave some great recommendations, the breakfast spread he prepared each morning was just perfect to start the day, he keeps this house clean and tidy. This Victorian holds an old charm to it, with its eclectic decor and warm atmosphere. Something to take note of -for those who do not like to interact with ppl, prefer more of a glamping style, private place, this may not be for you. You will see people (remember you are renting a room of a house) unless you are the only one who booked the place. You will hear the floors squeaking, people talking and eating together. Hence the concept of a B&B. It does get quite at night, and you can enjoy the fireplace and read with peace. I personally LOVED it. I did book a room with 2 single beds, thinking I would put the two together. That didnt quiet work out (sorry honey, we had separate beds for a few days lol..oops) The ski resort was 8 minutes away and the slopes were amazing. The local restaurants (Zephyrs, Crazy River Cafe) were excellent. I will definitely come back again and not just for skiing, but for hiking, winery etc and bringing some friends to this B&B read more

Not what we were expecting, The website definitely made it look better than it was, although the price was reasonable. "Retro" suite was just that, like staying in your parents basement, where your parents have outfitted with the worst mis match of fur itch they found at a yard sale, beware the linen is so trippy you might start to see things in the walls. The art of being available but invisible Ben achieved easily. The breakfast alone was worth it plus the pleasure of his company. I have frequented this lovely B and B many times now and it never disappoints. The lodgings are so lovely with very sweet, thoughtful touches. Ben is a delight and is a plethora of information be it a picturesque hike or the best restaurants in the area. But his greatest talent are his delicious, mouth-watering breakfasts! He is a natural chef and makes the most wonderful frittatas, quiches, blueberry muffins...the works! Had a great stay here with our two kids. The breakfast was very good and we had plenty of privacy. Stayed in the "Delaware Room" and were pleased with the king bed and very hot shower after a cold day on the slopes. Very close to Belleayre. Recommended restaurant nearby would be "Peekamoose" which was a little pricey but worth it. read more

Been staying yearly at River Run B&B since 1993. The village of Fleischmann's is scenic with numerous Victorian dwellings. It is so much fun to walk around and enjoy the fresh mountain air! But the best part is staying at River Run. It is a lovely old house with a huge backyard leading down to a stream. Very restful. Ben, the host of River Run, puts on a wonderful breakfast and is very skilled and considerate when it comes to dietary restrictions. Please do let him know if there are any allergies and he will come up with something delicious that suits your needs. The rooms are cozy, but I prefer the Retro Suite. It's got two bedrooms as well as an eat-in kitchen and living area. It also has a second, separate entrance from the main entryway. I'm please to say that along with Ben's excellent breakfasts, there is La Cabana, a Mexican restaurant, Bebert's Morrocan Cafe, and Goatie Whites, a bar and grill with over 25 flavors of ice cream. We had a wonderful relaxing long weekend at the River Run. Ben was attentive and accomodating without intruding. Our room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious and hearty enough to last a good portion of the day. We were off season and it was perfect for me to do my reading for work :( and my husband to go hiking and photographing waterfalls during the day. Our dogs were welcomed and enjoyed the huge backyard (and the hiking). Fleischmann, the town is a bit sad and apparently still hurting economically, but we all came to enjoy our walks with the dogs, reading on the porch and playing in the backyard. I'm sure skiers and foliage hunters would find it a great place. For us, we will likely return during off season for quiet r&r with dogs (and hopefully no work). read more

Charming and relaxing atmosphere. Ben, the owner, is very helpful and accommodating. We were able to get discounted ski lift tickets because we were staying here and were also able to use a fridge on the second floor to keep lunch food for our skiing days. The breakfasts are very filling and yummy (Ben is a great cook!) and there is always tea in the afternoons , which after a long skiing day this was very nice. The rooms are comfortable and the place was relaxing. We have made River Run our "go to spot" for two yea now and want to continue this tradition for many more years! read more

Simply amazing. We stayed here for a night at a very reasonable price in the summer. Ben is the best part of the experience. He was incredibly accommodating since we came in at 1 am, and had to have a very late breakfast. Frittata was delicious. Coffee was very tasty. We stayed in the Esopus room for 3 people. The furniture was dated, but the room and bathroom were clean and well-stocked. Ben also helped us a lot with planning our day given we had a senior almost 80 years old, and the younger 2 of our group wanted to hike. He figured out some great local waterfalls to check out too! The porch outside is fantastic, and after driving/hiking around the Catskills we came back and had our lunch outside. He was even able to allow us to use the place all day on the day we were leaving, since no one was checking into our room. So accommodating. The best service! read more

We just returned from a night at the River Run Bed & Breakfast and would recommend it to anyone looking for a lovely B&B in the Catskills. The large Victorian home boasts a large and inviting front porch with lots of comfortable seating - and a large backyard on a running stream with three stupas (stacked rocks) that make a lovely spot for meditating. Ben, the Innkeeper was the perfect host and helpful guide to the region. His recommendations that we go to Peekamoose for dinner, Big Pond for a swim and Giant Ledge for a hike were all excellent! At breakfast, which we understand changes daily, Ben treated his guests to a delicious onion and mushroom no-crust breakfast quiche, sliced avocado and tomato, fruit, yogurt, toast, homemade muffins, cereal and hot and cold beverages. Our room was nicely appointed with modern bedding. The rest of the house is full of eclectic decorations and family heirlooms. When you're at Ben's B&B, you he gives you privacy and also makes you feel "at home." read more

My husband and I stayed here in June 2013 for our anniversary and absolutely loved it. The building and grounds are absolutely beautiful and the decor is such that we felt so comfortable and right at home. We stayed in the Bushkill room which had a private bathroom right across the hall. The view of the backyard was beautiful and there was a pantry right down the hall too, which has a nice sitting area...it was great for fridge/sink use, and we found everything we needed in there including a cork screw and wine glasses. We absolutely loved the front porch...it is surrounded by beautiful flowers and had lots of sitting areas, and is close enough to the road that we enjoyed watching people walk by. It is located in a cute downtown too. Not too many shops, but a market within walking distance, a mexican food place, and an adorable library all within walking distance. The owner, Ben, was entirely accommodating and available, and had a warm, laid back personality. He puts out an amazing breakfast i the morning too which was perfect. There was piping hot coffee, bagels, granola, fruit, and a hot dish too....everything was outstanding. We love visiting upstate NY and now we know where we'll stay every time! If you want a nice comfortable, clean, perfectly located place to stay, defiintely choose the River Run...it is so relaxing! read more

The breakfast was great! The staff was very nice. But, this old house needs a lot of TLC. If you don't look to closely it's fine. Our room was just not up to my personal cleanliness standards. The bathroom had mold on the ceiling and in tub area. If you can get past fact that it's not so clean, the place has charm. read more

Unbelievably bad. The owner guy was very unfriendly and the breakfast was disappointing. It was all cold items, like granola and yogurt and muffins. And the town isn't as charming as I thought, but I didn't do any research so hopefully this helps you! read more
