Amazing food, wine, decor, and service! Perfect apres ski menu after a day at Hunter Mountain. Our bartender was very knowledgeable. Nice hotel staff as well.

The rooms are bright and the mattress is extremely comfortable. Our dog loved it as much as we did.

I could easily say that I would stay at Scribner's Lodge again. The rooms have what you need (stellar mattress and an amazing shower) and the amenities make it a very enjoyable stay. Everyone from the front desk to the cleaning staff was so friendly. We checked in very easily. I would suggest bringing your dog as you get a pupster package that includes all the essentials: treats, bags, a toy, and bowls for you to use. What makes Scribner's go above and beyond when it comes to your furbaby is that they offer you bandanas that you can put on your pup to show whether they are friendly or shy. Our dog rocked his green bandana with pride and many guests were excited to pet him. I would suggest reserving the sauna and hopping back and forth between the pool to really make the most of it. The entire grounds are enjoyable and relaxing the walk around. This is a small but important detail but the free coffee and tea they offer are top notch. I would highly suggest taking advantage of that.

The most charming and cozy Catskills getaway. All the employees and guests were so warm and welcoming. Had so much fun at their New Year's Eve party. The mango mezcal drink I had (the Mucho Mango) was amazing. The views of the mountains are beautiful. Very well heated indoors and outdoors by the fire. Beautifully maintained hotel. Can't wait to take a properly long vacation here. Vibes were so good.

Cozy. Welcoming. Warm. Knowledgeable staff. This was my first time in Hunter and I'm very grateful for the staff recommendations of cafes, tubing, and fun activities to do in town. It was our anniversary (and kid free weekend) and we were greeted in our room with a personalized welcome note and bottle of bubbly. Little details like that are things people remember! Don't forget the s'mores buy the fire. See you again Scribner's. Next time I'll bring the kid. I felt guilty cause it was so family friendly :)

We had an amazing experience staying at Scribner's. It's beautiful, clean, organized, and the staff has the place running wonderfully. We were 4 adults and a toddler, so we rented the Scribner Suite which worked out well for us as a family. FYI it doesn't provide much privacy since there are no doors. The view from the balcony was incredible. We also got a weekday stay promo so breakfast was included during part of our stay. Breakfast was DELICIOUS and generous -including entree, side, juice - and lasted from 8am-12pm. BUT worth noting that lunch at the shack by the pool and dinner at prospect are not available on Mondays and Tuesdays. They had daily s'mores, yoga equipment available, beautiful books, an amazing garden of veggies and flowers that we literally visited every day with amazement, corn hole, etc... the sauna barrel was a fun and sweaty experience, but no doubt the most beautiful view I've had from a sauna. The pool area is great, but note that the pool is barely heated. Very dog friendly and in fact counted more dogs thank children. The location is great - 20 minutes to everything - the waterfalls, gardens, railway explorers, Phoenicia diner, etc... Overall it was an incredibly relaxing experience and I would highly recommend!

Ahhh I love this place so much it hurts. It's like sleep away camp for grown ups from Brooklyn and it made us so, so happy. If you've ever suspected that most of your desires can be reduced to a simple formula and marketed back to you, Scribner's provides a definitive and emphatic yes. There were bonfires and s'mores every night, a taco truck in residence, a free all day coffee and oat milk station, a world class restaurant that's on par with/better than anything in any major city, friendly staff/ guests/dogs everywhere, the air smells amazing, the views of the mountains are incredibly beautiful, the list goes on. If it's your dream to sit in multiple Adirondak chairs, be surrounded by nature, eat amazing food, and have a great central location for hiking and skiiing, this is the place to be. The garden and sauna are also must do highlights. The garden is so beautiful and grows much of the produce that supplies the restaurant. There are also fun events like movie nights and we got to live a life long dream we didn't even know we had by watching Night at the Roxbury poolside. The only not great thing is the rooms are a little bare bones and run down. Multiple things were broken, there were some mystery stains on the wall and ceiling, the towels are thin and scratchy, and the shower doesn't have glass that goes all the way across so you have to stay huddled under the rainfall ceiling mount and water still gets everywhere- not a luxury experience, but the mountain view is tremendous and the front desk is so quick and helpful you can't stay mad. Moreover, who's to say the slight disrepair isn't just a highly curated hipster nod providing some infamous Mount Airy Lodge '90s nostalgia vibes?? (For anyone not blessed enough to know what I'm talking about, go on YouTube right now and watch the Mount Airy Lodge TV Commercial and family home video from 1992.) In the words of Stefan, "this place has everything." Anyway, it was magical and the Catskills and Scribner's have a special place in our hearts. Can't wait to go back.

Bae took me here for my birthday weekend and it was nothing short of magical. We stayed in the Mountain King room with the lovely balcony and Hunter Mountain view. That bed is one of the most comfortable beds either of us had ever slept in. We still talk about it to this day lol my ONLY downfall with this room is that the shower is a rainfall shower head -- which is not really black girl friendly or friendly for ANYONE who doesn't want to get their hair wet quite frankly. So showering everyday was an adventure to say the least. We ate dinner at their on-site restaurant called Scribner's Prospect. We both had their house burger...unbelievably good. I wish I could remember the names of their cocktails but trust me, you won't be disappointed. Our waiter was so pleasant. I initially ordered their fish speciality dish and had to be totally honest with him and told him I didn't like it. I hate to send back food but they took it back with no problem and returned with that juicy burger we liked so much. It was my birthday dinner so that seriously made my night. The dining room is spaced out and the entire wait staff wore masks. The front desk folks were friendly. This is a super short drive away from Hunter Mountain's ski resort where we took snowboarding lessons. It's also a short drive from any in town restaurants but please note that all of the town's restaurants close at 8pm and the on-site restaurant is closed for dinner on Monday's and Tuesday's! We're typically late night eaters so this was a bit of a challenge for us. We ended up finding a lovely restaurant in Woodstock instead but just be mindful of this so you don't go to bed hungry. We absolutely loved our stay and wished that we had booked just one more night there. If we had time, we would have hit up their on-site ice skating rink or have a cocktail in their decorated lobby. We'll be back one day for sure

Overpriced by a long shot, utter trash. $50 for half a BBQ chicken with no sides. Chef that just doesn't get it.

They have a concierge for your ski equipment, and a shuttle if needed (it wasn't needed this time, there was plenty of snow on the path to ski to the lifts). We were hoping to enjoy the restaurant and bar (The Van Winkle) but it was unfortunately closed for a private event. We were given a booklet of nearby places to eat, which was helpful. The room had a luxurious feel to it, spa-like. It was clean and well stocked. We had wifi keys which is a nice feature, and the elevators were efficient. Breakfast was included, and it was a "grab and go" assortment of oatmeal, pastries, apples and granola bars, along with hot beverages. I would have liked it if the hot beverages had been available after skiing as well, but there were coffee pots in the room with coffee, teas and actual mugs, along with creamers and sweeteners. We will surely be coming back to this great location!

What is unexpectedly amazing about this hotel is the service. I have never experienced such warmness and understanding from any hotel staff. There was a snow storm on Sunday and my friends actually got into a car accident. Thankfully, nothing terrible happened and everyone was safe, but the whole experience had us shook. That was the day we were supposed to check-out. As you can imagine, we were all worried about driving back in these conditions, especially as the storm kept getting worse, rather than slowing down. The hotel staff offered to extend our stay, free of charge, so that we could wait out the storm. They even provided us with extra linens and towels so we could have a more comfy evening. I cannot say how thankful we all are. Our stay at the Kaatskill Mountain Club was amazing. Aside from the amazing staff, the hotel amenities themselves are pretty cool. We had a fun time at the hot tub and heated pool, and the complimentary breakfast is the perfect pick me up before a long ski day. If you're looking for a cozy weekend getaway, and an amazing hospitality, that's the place for you.

Quaint, clean, welcoming, homey, friendly, and extremely hospitable. Cris the Inn Keeper made us feel at home and even made us breakfast! Location: 15mins from Kaaterskill Falls for Hiking / Catskill Mountains and literally a 10min walk from Hunter Mountain for Fall festivities like Oktoberfest. Also less than 10min drive to the town of Tannersville where you'll find a few restaurants, bars, and shops. There is also a little plaza walking distance that has a bar-Ronnie MacGregor, bagel spot, pizza, etc. We came up from Manhattan so it was about 2hr 15m drive but definitely worth it if you want to get away from the city bustle. There is also ziplining at Hunter Mountain for those interested, essentially lots to do nearby. Accommodation: We had Room #2, it was spacious enough for us 3 girls, clean and quaint. We spent a night here and it was just what we needed. Bed that fit two and Cris set up the pullout sofa bed for us for the 3rd. He made it before we returned from dinner which was really nice. The room has no TV (which is fine since there is one in the downstairs common area) and to be honest you don't want one up here. It's just perfect to wind down/relax - away from all of the usual distractions. Our room faced the back lot but with the colors/fall foliage it was great little view. There is a private bathroom in the room, which was great to have at a small Inn (amenities included body soap, shampoo, and conditioner) included and if you need a hairdryer (just ask Cris). The door closes but not fully shut-an easy fix though. There are also towels (hand / shower ones), extra blankets if needed, there is AC in the room and a dresser. Plenty of outlets too which was great for us and all of our phones/cameras. The bed/sofa bed were a bit stiff / harder than the mattresses we're used to but that was the only critique we really had, not a huge deal breaker for me. We had little mints in the room too which was nice. It seems each room has a different theme or style, I'd recommend you check their direct website for details on the room you book. Sedgwick House Overall: As you drive up you notice it's a cute B&B, well maintained, welcoming, and charming. The sign out front is really cute too! There is a social room that has board games, a TV, books to read, little informational flyers, and is just a nice little area to hang out if you'd like to get out of the room. There is also the breakfast/dining area where you'll find a family style table for breakfast. We ate with 4 other guests of the B&B and it was so nice to actually have a meal with others and socialized (not just eat glued to the TV). It was nice that he made us all breakfast at 9a (he let us pick the time!) which gave us a chance to socialize and meet others that were up for the weekend. You can chose your type of egg, toast, sausage or bacon and there's a variety of yummy jams, orange juice, coffee, tea, etc. There are also a variety of snacks kept out for guests: chips, cookies, water, candies etc. There is also another little room with a fireplace, couch, just hang out area- we didn't spend time in there but took a peek. The decor overall is a more traditional, old school country vibe. There is a really nice front porch with tables and seating and also a little seating area along the side of the house. The girls and I actually took our picnic blanket that we had a laid it outside the front of the house at like 11p to star gaze and it was great, you can see so many stars on a night, clear night, a real treat for city folk. If we would have spent another night I would have loved to just sit on the porch and read- next time! Also very nice views of the mountain from the front of the house. Grounds/grass well managed as well. Also has bathrooms on the lower level towards the back of the house. There is no official Front Desk area, usually Cris will be there so if you arrive and he's not there, he'll most likely leave you his number to call when you arrive as he likes to greet all the guests. There is free Wif too-i we didn't get a chance to ask for the password since we were only there a night and it didn't make a difference but if you think you'll need it be sure to ask when you arrive so you have it. Inn Keeper: Cris is very attentive and wants his guests to be comfortable and feel at home. He was very responsive and puts in a lot of work to make sure the Sedgwick House is kept nice. He runs the Inn with his wife Florentina who I spoke with on the phone to make my reservation and both are very sweet. It's definitely a homey place and one I'd be happy to return to on my next trip. Overall: I'd recommend if your looking for a nice, simple, rustic, country style, charming spot to spend a weekend or few days out of the city. It was also reasonably priced and right

Room had a fridge and microwave tucked away which came in handy since we had wine and dog food that needed to be refrigerated. The "Library" area was super cute and nice to hang out by the fire while enjoying some free coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening. I saw some comments about the front desk being empty late night and that was true, but that thankfully didn't affect our stay. Just need to make sure to get things addressed (towel refills, special requests, etc) during desk service hours. Of note, they have a rule that dogs cannot be left alone in the room if you leave (to go to restaurant for example). While I understand their reasoning for this rule, knowing it in advance would have been helpful, especially since they don't allow dogs in the restaurant. Thankfully Scribner's is just across the street allows dogs in their hangout area and in their restaurant.
