There is so much good to mention from our stay at East Wind in Windham. There was also a few little surprises that were mostly because we didn't read the website description or dig thoroughly enough, so I will try to make this as helpful as possible! For reference, we stayed in one of the Lushna cabins that are best described as the size of a big teepee tent with one beautiful window wall. First surprise, I don't think were were fully expecting how small it was and that there is basically just a bed and then room for a bag or two. Yes, the bathrooms are detached and you have to go outside to get to them but they are a few feet away, private, and they keep them so incredibly warm that it was actually really nice in there. They are very spacious, have plenty of shelves and the shower is huge and luxurious. My bathroom at home honestly pales in comparison. There are two saunas on property but the one right outside of our cabin was not working, most likely because of how cold it was outside. It was a bummer, especially because we didn't want to trek to the other farther away one. We ate at Dandies, their on site restaurant, our first night and everything was incredible. Their staff was super friendly and lovely to chat with. We went back for the mulled wines more than once and stopped by in the AM for coffees before leaving for the day. It was great to have so close by. Our first morning we tried the breakfast basket and loved that it just appeared at our door. For $30 we got a Stanley thermos of coffee, hard boiled eggs, yogurt parfaits, OJ, and croissants. Nothing too crazy but I loved having a slow start to the day with breakfast in bed. Windham is filled with great places to eat, cute antique shops, a movie theater, bars, and is not far at all from other great towns. This wasn't a ski trip for us, but we never ran out of things to do. Yes, it was expensive and might not have fully felt like it was worth the price with all of the surprises, but we had an amazing time and we also got engaged over this weekend in this teeny tiny little teepee tent so my heart is full of love and 5 stars for everyone. read more

this place was perfect for a romantic mountain get away for my bf and I!!! our room was so cozy and the lobby was even cozier with its small little bar and roaring fireplace and smores making kits! special shout out to the staff at the onsite restaurant dandies specifically Andre and Andy and (of course) Hudson D. Dog who was so handsome in his bandana. Andre was such a great server and even talked us into getting an Affogato for dessert, his twirls were amazing, and he even put a G in my cappuccino for my name!!. One of the amazing hotel employees recommended the curry ketchup and it was AMAZING. we took the bikes out, hiked, laid on the hammocks, etc. we don't want to leave. one thing i will add is that the acoustics are intense in the room. the room directly above us was having... a lot of fun in their bed for a lot of our trip... and it was so comically loud. shout out to them tho. they were feeling the romantic vibes too i guess. all in all very much recommend. i wish the door had a chain lock but other than that it was a perfect experience. read more

My short vacation in early January at East Wind Hotel was a present. It was a ski season but still not much of snow. I picked weekday because it was quiet and not too much of traffic of people. I booked a small log that made me feel like I stayed in a tent in the middle of forest. It was pro and con on this trip. Pro: Very privacy and I feel like I own the whole property :) It was only 3 of us, my puppy, my hubby and me. No other guess in another log nearby. Con: During winter, we weren't allowed to make a bonfire because the law and safety. Super cold outside and bathroom was not in the log. Not so much of restaurant nearby that opened on weekday. The room was cleaned, we got breakfast in bed at the first day and it was enough for a couple. Service was good, warm welcoming, helpful, friendly and super nice. The hotel is dog friendly so I can bring my dog to anywhere in the property. It was nice to be able to camp in the winter, heat in the log was pretty good and adjustable. It will be different vibes if we come in another season. read more

Overall, a very disappointing experience. TLDR: broken AC, over-charged, and complete lack of communication. The photos look beautiful and the staff are super friendly, but everything else fell short. When we arrived to our cabin, the AC was broken, so the cabin felt like a sauna and our dog was suffering in the heat. We asked them to bring a new AC, which they did, after which we left for dinner. When we returned from dinner, we opened the cabin door to a blast of heat--the second AC had broken as well. At this point it was 10pm and we were exhausted and they let us switch to a room in the main building. We told them we were no longer interested in staying in the cabin for the 2nd night of our stay, but they said they could only give us a room in the main building for one night, after which we had to return to our sauna/cabin. We decided to just book another hotel nearby. The next morning I called to discuss canceling our stay for the 2nd night, at which point they told us we could actually stay in the main building for the 2nd night. So it was strange they initially told us we couldn't, and then ultimately they allowed us to. Finally, I ordered breakfast the second morning for $30 + a $30 prosecco add-on. Yet when I checked my credit card statement, they ended up charging me $111. I contacted them 5+ times via text and call to get a refund (or at least an explanation of the overcharge) and they completely ignored me. I was left with no choice but to dispute the charge with my credit card provider. All in all, given the broken AC, the overcharge, and the lack of communication, it was an incredibly disappointing stay. Happy to update this review if the hotel reaches out and refunds the money, but until then, I can't recommend this hotel to anyone. read more

Sorry in advanced for the length but I felt compelled to be thorough given the mixed reviews. Overall, my fiancé and I really enjoyed glamping at Eastwind. We are experienced backpackers and have also gone glamping before so we had appropriate expectations for staying in the lushna cabin. It was nice, picturesque, and very clean. It is pet friendly, and we are both allergic to animal dander and had no issues with cleanliness during our stay. The cabin is very compact with a bed and 2 nightstands. There is a separate private bathroom. Both are well heated. Each cabin also has its own fire pit area equip with a solo stove bonfire, two chairs and a small table. The cabins are located away from the road/main building, at the top of the hill and line both sides of the path. We stayed Wed-Fri which is off peak for the area so we only ran into one other couple staying on the property. It was really nice to have the place to ourselves but I do want to note that the cabins are close together which might be problematic for some if they are booked to capacity. There is also an outdoor shower but we didn't use it because it was January. Even if the weather was appropriate, the outdoor shower is completely opened and facing the path which might be awkward/uncomfortable for some. The staff was super kind and accommodating. We were able to check in several hours early without any question. All the info that we needed was texted to us. They advised that if we wanted the campfire started, cocktails brought to our cabin, the sauna turned on, housekeeping, or anything else to just send a text. They were extremely prompt whenever we texted. Complementary mulled wine and s'mores kits were also provided which we enjoyed by our campfire. We also got the breakfast basket delivered to our cabin but I was surprised that it was an additional $30. It was worth it for the novelty of having breakfast in bed for one morning while enjoying the views/snowfall but at almost $400 per night I felt like this should have just been included. Unfortunately, I have to agree with the sentiment of other reviewers in that Eastwind is slightly misleading and it's not the best value for what you get in terms of the luxurious experience that they portray on their website and Instagram. We went during the week because we only wanted to stay for 2 nights and they have a 3 night minimum on the weekends. At almost $400 per night, we felt a 3rd probably wouldn't be worth it when booking and upon leaving agreed that although we had a very nice experience, we were ready to go. I also felt that given the price point, the property could use some updating and more professional service/amenities. All minor things from my observation but still would go a long way in elevating the experience and justifying the high cost. The main building is very small and probably very old. They do a nice job of carefully curating the décor in the bar/lounge area to make it feel cozy and picturesque, especially by the fire. The website states that the bar is opened until 10pm daily but we were advised that last call was at 8:30pm. At around 8pm, we were enjoying a cocktail (there was one other couple in the bar/lounge area) and the staff was running around, closing up, packing up, etc. so we couldn't help but feel like we were in the way and overstaying our welcome. They also mentioned a communal bonfire but that was not lit during our stay. But I am sure if we asked, they would have lit it for us. I think we would have been extremely disappointed/felt ripped off if we were staying in one of the regular hotel rooms. We didn't mind paying a premium for the unique experience of staying in the lushna cabin and using the outdoor sauna but the main building and satellite building of regular rooms looked a bit run down from the outside. Everything is also smaller/less new looking than it appears on Instagram. For some reason I got the feeling that they are trying heavily to appeal to influencers. Another unusual thing to be mindful of is that the hotel doesn't have staff there overnight. It was not an issue for us because we were glamping in the cabin away from the main building, but I've just never seen this practice before when there are regular hotel rooms. Overall, this felt like an airbnb stay and probably should be priced accordingly. But despite the negative comments, we still had a wonderful time because we weren't looking for a luxurious experience. I am curious to check out the other location that just opened in Oliverea Valley (also Catskills) because it's a new construction/not renovated like the Windham property so I would assume it's nicer/more luxurious. I'll still recommend the lushna cabins to friends and noting the drawbacks. However, I feel like if you're not a camper, you may be disappointed and feel ripped off because $400 per night can get you a lot more at other hotels/airbnbs. read more

This is a reasonably nice place. The rooms are good, the restaurant is fine, and so on. However, if you're considering staying here, a couple of things to watch out for. The first is the acoustics. I'm not kidding. It's located in a narrow valley, and you hear EVERYTHING. For instance, my bucolic morning was fairly rudely interrupted by echoes of a bunch of dogs barking somewhere, for a long time. If you're staying in the "hotel" part of this place, you can hear everything around you. This included my next-door-neighbor in the shower. He seemed to have some sort of upper respiratory problem. And the neighbors directly below us. Heard every word of their conversation. At about 8 AM. There's zero acoustic privacy. Second, and much worse, was the fact that the property had been used for a large wedding. This meant that a big tent -- like, for 100 people -- had been erected right smack in the middle of the property. A second area was the outdoor dance floor. The way this place is set up, everything is arranged around this central area. Not only wasn't it a lot of fun to look at this setup, but for the next couple of days, we were serenaded by the sounds of power tools and guys yelling to each other as they disassembled the tent. Not cool, and had we known this would be the setup, we would have gone elsewhere. Bottom line: call before coming, and make sure they're not having an event. read more

Jamie was amazing at checkin. Really a pleasure, we just relaxed immediately upon arriving. We had these interesting conversations about music and living upstate. And the bar was a nice place to unwind and gather supplies for a campfire. We stayed at the Lushna which was a unique experience. It was dark enough to star-gaze, but the lighting on the property was impressive. We walked around the perimeter where there is a lighted path. When I first booked this I wondered if I had made a mistake. It was a last minute burning desire to get out of the city and unplug for a few days, surrounded by natural beauty. Also, I was going to be by myself and didn't have the courage to drive a rental car up the mountain. Fortunately, I picked Eastwind. While reading reviews on the Amtrak to Hudson, I learned that I may not have very much onsite support during the weekdays, but that wasn't the case for me. I got my "welcome text" and took an Uber to the property, where it took me a few minutes to find my way uphill toward the backend. Once inside, I saw I had company -- a few spiders in the lushna. This is definitely a "glamping" experience, not a luxury resort. Fortunately, that's part of the charm. My first night out of 3, I found that it was easy to be social at Eastwind, even during the week -- most people come on weekends, and there are some more recreational and food options on-site. But any night of the week you'll find a roaring communal fire and company from other guests. I got drinks with a few other travelers from the bar at the lodge, and the blueberries and ginger in my mule were fresh and tasty. Without a car, I was at a disadvantage to explore the area, but the first night there I figured out how to order a pizza to the property. The next day, I took one of the hotel's complimentary bikes out to the Windham walking trail, which is just a 5-minute bike ride away (be warned, it's off a highway). The other direction, I rode the bike into town, where there are fantastic shops and restaurants. I can't recommend the Catskill Mountain Country Store enough. It has a petting zoo! If you bring a book or two, a journal, and some wine (or edibles, pick your poison), you can find plenty of entertainment by basking in the gorgeous views from the property. The sauna is a delight. The staff is wonderful and so friendly and helpful -- they're always just a text away, and I had them bring me a few s'mores kits for fireside relaxation. Did I mention each lushna comes with its own firepit and seating? It's awesome. You also get a little electric lamp to carry around, access to an individual outdoor shower (too cold for my use, unfortunately), and a few surprise goodies throughout your stay. Some people have ragged on the place being too expensive or the breakfast baskets being $30 -- IMO, for doorstep delivery, a thermos full of hot coffee, and enough fruit and pastries (and more) for two, I think it's well worth it! Regardless of how my experience was, I knew I'd be willing to pay roughly ~$400 a night (total, with tax) for this Instagram-ready room. But after sleeping in that fabulous bed, breathing in fresh mountain air in the morning, gazing up at the stars, and sipping Pinot noir in the sauna, I actually can't wait to return (with a companion and a rental car, too). Hot tip: an Uber will TAKE you to Windham, but you cannot get picked up there by one. Luckily, there are several local taxi services you can call in advance. read more

Amazing facility and unbelievably kind staff. Our vehicle broke down at the hotel and the staff bent over backwards to ensure we still had a wonderful stay. The staff drove us into town for us to pick up dinner and specially opened the bar for us to have a drink after a stressful day. Without us having to ask they offered us a really generous late check out (3pm) and then drove us into town to pick up our vehicle. The hotel itself was beautifully designed and we ended up having a great stay in spite of the crazy start. This was our second time there and will definitely be returning. read more

Loved our stay! A few things to note: the Lushna cabins are very small, basically had room for the bed and a small overnight bag. Your bathroom is 10-15 ft from the cabin so you do have to go outside to get to it, but the cabin and bathroom are appointed very nicely with all the products you would need. The views are beautiful, especially in the snow. There is a bit of a walk from the parking area to the cabins, but this is just to keep the views remote and free of cars. We loved the staff and the activities held at the main hotel, we did candle making and a bourbon tasting. The breakfast basket isn't worth the price. Overall we loved our experience! read more

First things first. Yes this place is extremely instagramable, the Mountain Views are gorgeous and the grounds it's built on are lovely and well kept. However yes it is HORRIFICALLY over priced for the what you get. As a previous reviewer mentioned we paid $399/night for a weekend getaway. I'll break down the goods and the bads It's a converted motel which mean the motel vibe is is there, but it's quaint, cute and relaxing. The rooms are "upgraded" and made to look as esthetically pleasing as possible at the lowest possible cost. This reflects in the fact that the barn doors used on the bathrooms leave gaps large enough to see your partner doing their business if you don't line the doors up exactly right. There's not ONE shelf in the bathroom to hold toiletries and the lack of storage for items is a theme through out the room. Trash disposal is hard as there's no recycling bin or main trash can located outside near the community fire resulting in lots of debris constantly. The $20 breakfast is a joke - don't invest and try a local spot like Windham local. We were there during a wedding, which I found odd they didn't rent the entire grounds out for, seeing as the party had no problem declaring every communal space their own. Both nights turning music on over our lower volumed "coffee shop" mix of relaxing tunes. Again remind you we paid $400 a night! Thankfully the windows are pretty sound proof we found. The rooms up the hill (king suit with sofa) don't have AC and no fans are on offer. We checked in Thursday and managed to snag maybe the only fan on the premises. As it was near 80 during the day I feel for those that didn't have air flow in their room. The staff is clearly the backbone of this hotel providing amazing customer service and hospitality. They do provide grilling kits and grills. However you're supposed to bring your own charcoal, something we weren't told until our third conversation about the grill. However there was some left over from a previous guest we were allowed to use (again $400 a night charge!) toss me some charcoal! If the rooms were about $100-$150 cheaper and I could guarantee there wouldn't be a wedding here I would book it again in a heartbeat. The weekend was lovely and Windham is great but this hotel needs to find its lane. Either be luxury and provide the amenities you're charging for or be a quaint air bnb and charge accordingly. If you do go and get a king suit - specifically request not room 1. It shares a wall with the utility room, where there's a near constant hum and vibration of a washing machine & hot water heater. read more

We stayed in the Lushna during COVID in late October and had an absolutely wonderful experience. Contactless checkin to our cabin, masks on the common grounds, and hand sanitizer was provided. The lushna was so cozy and pretty warm with the space heater and blankets. The adjacent bathroom was stocked with robes, towels, basic amenities. We got lucky and were here for the first snow of the season, and the grounds were so beautiful. Tara, James, and Bjorn were available by text throughout the day and helped us make fire pits for s'mores, set up the sauna, and went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and enjoy our experience. The common lounge inside the main house was unavailable to use due to covid restrictions. The town of Windham is full of local eateries and shops, a great wine bar, walking and hiking trails, and stunning views of the mountain. read more

This place has so much potential with it's escaping views and quaint atmosphere. My partner and I stayed for two nights and overall enjoyed our stay but we are compelled to share a few tips that could really make this place a 5 star stay. On a positive note, the staff is amazing. I love the fact it's inclusive and welcomes dogs. There are great games in the main house. The family style supper was also superb. On a negative note -if they are going for a luxurious glamping experience as their prices would suggest, they totally missed the mark. There were no robes or slippers to walk around the facilities. The amenities (sauna and hot top) are surrounded by mud and there is no clear path to get to them from the main house. The hot tub wasn't even functioning which is truly a disappointment. There are no towels provided for the sauna and no where to leave your clothes. The two mornings we went down to have our coffee, the fire place wasn't lit which again is a small detail but makes a huge difference in experience. The beds are super comfortable but messy when made - they were very wrinkled and our top blanket had a lot of animal hair on it when we arrived. All in all, this place is close to achieving what they want but the details lack. If the goal is to market the stay as quaint / average, they certainly need to lower the prices. read more

We've just returned from a two night stay at East Wind. We stayed in the hilltop room listed as 'King with Sofa.' We feel compelled to share some reflections about our visit, which we hope will be useful for others who may be considering a stay. First, the natural beauty of the Catskills is truly stunning, and the East Wind offers stunning majestic views of rolling green hillsides as far as the eye can see. Sunsets are majestic at East Wind, and there is a lovely firepit around which we sat both evenings, drinking craft cocktails concocted by a very skilled and gracious bartender who was overseeing the entire East Wind operation on both nights we stayed. Unfortunately, our positive reflections end there. At $329/night, the hilltop rooms at the East Wind are, without a doubt, horrifically overpriced and bordering on a scam. This is a slightly upgraded old motel, with the aesthetic additions necessary to appear sexy on Instagram at the right angle, and very little more. The amenities here are some old board games and a few bicycles which weren't especially appealing to us given that the motel is situated on a fairly heavily traveled road on which cars fly by at speed. Our biggest frustration, however, related to atmosphere and noise. As I'm sure is the case for most guests, we sought out East Wind in hopes to finding a peaceful spot to hide out from the city for a few days. We weren't after luxury, necessarily...just peace in the Catskills with some good views. Alas, our nights at Eastwl Wind were short and sleepless given that the rest of the premises were occupied by a wedding party....emphasis on party. Both evenings, after enjoying a few peaceful minutes around the above mentioned fire pit, we were displaced by a large, raucus group of drunk wedding attendees who came toting blaring Bluetooth speakers, bottles of Jack Daniels, and cigars. We retrieted to our room only to lay awake until the wee hours of the morning due to the continuous loud music and chatter... Worse than the noise we hear from our small Midtown Manhattan apartment. Each morning, we woke up hungry and eager for some coffee and breakfast. However, we couldn't bring ourselves to shell out an additional 20 bucks each for the buffet, which other reviewers have suggested is sub par. For 329$ a night, you'd expect at least a restaurant in the hotel, and complimentary coffee, if not breakfast. We returned to the city this evening tired, frustrated, and 700 dollars poorer. Save your money. Check out smaller, reasonably priced, and far more charming BnBs in the area. Don't let the Instagram photos fool you! read more

My boyfriend and I just checked out and we are trying to figure out how quickly we can return. We absolutely loved our stay! We stayed midweek (Wednesday-Friday) so we cant speak for what it is like on a weekend, which we heard is busier, but we basically had the run of the place. There was another couple staying in the Lushna next to us with their you child (but you would never have known it). The lushna is adorable. It's private bathroom it amazing. It's the perfect amount of camping with some amenities- the exact definition of "glamping ". If you are looking for someplace to stay where someone is waiting on you hand and foot this is not the place, but this added to making Eastwind feel like our own . Also, That is not to say Tara (the manager? ) didn't make sure you were comfortable and had everything you needed while she was there (9 am - 5 pm). Since we stayed midweek there was no bartender or food but we were fine with this and actually loved the extra freedom that it added. They set up an honor bar so you can drink beer, wine, and cocktails throughout the night. They also put a s'mores package together for you and set up the fire pit for you to light on your own if you want to enjoy sitting by the fire at night, which we did. Eastwind is located on a busy main road but we did not hear any of the road traffic. For us it was perfectly situated close to hiking trails and close to the downtown area which has many restaurants/bars. Tara also provided 2 1/2 pages worth of restaurant recommendations both near and far. I will end this review with the attention to detail I was fawning over the entire time we were there. Everything is adorable and we really enjoyed our time exploring Eastwind and the town of Windham. And my boyfriend agrees. read more

The staff is amazing and the place is super cozy. The wonderful Tara and Stacey were quick to help us start a fire or pour us a drink. We brought our 2 dogs and they let them have the run of the place (as they are well behaved). The staff recommended the Windham Path for hikes with our pups and it did not disappoint! The only factor stopping me from giving a 5 star review is the price. It's a tad expensive, but that wouldn't stop me from staying here again. read more

I am thoroughly disgusted with this resort. I had planned an overnight stay a month in advance for a birthday. 2 weeks prior I realized that my card had never been charged & I never received a confirmation. I called to confirm and they said they had lost my reservation. I had to go through the process of rebooking but thought things were fine. Fast forward to the day before; I call to confirm the reservation was still on due to snow. They assured me it would be fine. Morning of we are driving up, and 30 minutes before I arrive they call me to say they've cancelled my reservation and can't accommodate us. Barely apologetic & very matter of factly they told me I could come another time. I told them it was day of and I was 30 minutes away. I asked if they could offer me something for the inconvenience, like an extra night or an upgrade next time I came & they said no. I will never come here & would recommend you do the same. I understand things come up, but this was unacceptable and the way it was handled was even more appalling. read more

We stayed here in July, it felt comfortable and safe in time of COVID. Staff was great, there when we needed something but not intrusive. The grounds are lovely, lots of hammocks, a short nature trail, lots of cool outdoor seating. As a plus, we drive a tesla and the had just installed a charger station. The area has a lot of hiking, but not a lot of water stuff, just FYI. there's no pool, for instance. But place was comfortable WiFi was great, more than made up for it read more

The double room my friends stayed, far away from the main building, was basically a motel room with newly painted walls and doors. On arrival, we couldn't find the place as no lights were on the sign, so we passed right by it...We were text contactless entry instructions; there was a nice woman leaving just as we arrived who gave us mulled wine and said they had s'mores kits for the fire pit, etc. Very cute and welcoming. We booked the Suite w/ 2 Kings (the most expensive room - though there is also a Lushna cabin suite that is a bit more). Our room was located just off the main lobby (and adjacent to the storage shed, maintenance quads, dumped cigarette butts and all). Inside the room was well presented though not as 'photo/insta perfect' as presented online. At $499 a nite, one would hope for daily beds to be made or towels to be tidied or some kind of service, but there is none. Don't need clean sheets or towels (happy to conserve), but some type of service for this price is not too much to expect. The breakfast basket was sweet, though for the price of room, should be included. On our second night, was never asked if we wanted one for the next morning, so none was delivered. We wandered into the lobby in hopes for a coffee, but no one in site. The lobby/bar/communal space is cute, but is seemingly unmanned. In fact, throughout our stay we didn't see anyone in there (or anywhere else in fact). One night, my husband even had to get out of bed to go in and turn off the music that was playing in the bar quite loudly (though no one was in there). With some local drag racing on Rt. 23 each night, I recommend perhaps staying in one of the Lushnas as they are set back from the road and unique and fun looking. All in all, great idea, but falls short for the price. read more

We didn't read reviews before booking, shame on us. I am giving 2 stars because this place is incredibly misleading and I don't want anyone to experience what we did. We've traveled the world- and found this place made zero sense for price + accommodations. This uncomfortably borders as a scam. The website gives the perception of a luxury property with lots of activities, space, things to do. When we pulled in we were really confused - its a refurbished motel on a hillside with "A" frame wooden structures and a refurbished house/lodge. It's ABSURDLY overpriced. Maybe it's fine for New Yorkers with $$ to burn, and an Instagram itch to scratch - but we were not comfortable staying there for two nights for a grand total of over $800 dollars. $800 dollars?!! The "A" frame "glamping" option had no AC. There was a bed with a small fan, a light, curtain, that's it, the window does not open. Bathrooms were next to the structure in a separate mini building with a shower, sink, towels and scarce amenities. Nothing you would expect for the price. Shampoo & conditioner is all you get. That's the basis of the lodging. They need to figure out what they are- what the price point is and the value. But don't get trapped in their situation while they figure it out. The property is beautiful-thoughtfully curated but not kitschy. The beds are super comfortable, breakfast delicious, and most of all the staff were genuinely hospitable and thoughtful. The woman who checked us in (was it Jen?) was extremely kind and knowledgeable about the area. We did the weekend "communal dinner" and the food was outstanding-it really exceeded our expectations. The cocktails were perfection! My one concern before arriving was how close the main lodge is to the road-I didn't want to drive all the the way to the northern Catskills to hear traffic. We stayed in the writers studio in the main lodge, which is on the closer side to the road. We actually didn't hear any noise at all at night. In the morning, opening the window we could hear a car once in awhile but it honestly was a non issue, I think because of how cozy and special the rooms felt and how beautiful the mountain surroundings are. If we wanted to avoid car noise entirely we could have chosen to stay in a Lushna, which are set back against the forest. read more

Expensive hotel with sick views and a chill hipster vibe. Bar opens at 5. Staff is lovely. Plenty of table games and live music on weekends.

this place is a dream! we stayed one night in a lushna and one night in a king room and both experiences were great. the lushna can get kinda chilly during winter even with the built-in heater, but this problem was fixed with a space heater provided by the owner. it's conveniently located, is adorable and has gorgeous views. couldn't ask for anything more in hotel for a weekend getaway or recommend any place more! read more

First of all I'm not a reviewer but I have to write a review for this place. My husband and I had a short vacation so we did some research and found this place. We booked the Lushna cabin for two nights which is super beautiful triangle cabin with the separate private bathroom and has a sauna. The place is beautiful and clean. Also the service is the best. All the staffs are nice and super friendly, especially Stacy, she was so helpful and let us borrow ice bucket, tong and gave us the s'more. So we both don't drive and we called the hotel to ask for the information how to get there if we don't drive. They were so helpful and explained it to us how to get there. We got there a little early before the check in time and Stacy offered us drinks and kept us company. And she also offered us to stay inside the room if the cabin is too hot since there is no ac in the cabin but we were fine, it was not too hot. There is a fire place and bbq grills area if you are planning to cook. It's a beautiful glamping (glamorous camping) spot. The hotel also offers the complimentary bicycles. We biked to get some grocery. It was pretty convenient even we didn't drive. We'll definitely go back in winter for snowboarding trips. read more

I usually don't really leave reviews--especially this lengthily of ones, but since this place is somewhat new hopefully our review could help people booking or the actual management itself! The place is very cute and very clean and the staff was very kind and helpful. We generally enjoyed our time here a lot, just a few things that seemed like they could be improved. With the lushna one of my worries was that we would be cold but that totally was not a problem, between the heavy comforter and the space heater we ended up being more than fine.The bathrooms that are with the lushnas are very nice as well. We were the only people there that night so I feel like if there isn't going to be someone round the clock they should have a bit more access to kitchen stuff. In that case it ends up being a bit more like an air b n b but w/o kitchen access. I think having some complimentary tea/water/coffee out would improve this. It was a bit weird to have the whole building to ourselves, we had a fire going so we had to make sure that was out, turn off the speakers, and then we weren't sure which lights should be left on or off, since there was no staff there, which was a bit awkward. ( I should note they have water bottles in the rooms but a lot of people hang out in the main room so it would be nice to have that stuff available in the lobby. The receptionist also made us coffee once when we asked, but not sure if that's protocol or she was just being kind. There are no coffee makers/fridges in the rooms which was fine with me, just something to note.) Our stay in the main building was nice as well, walls are a little thin but that's to be expected with an older building like this. The beds were super comfortable, and the shower was relaxing. The cocktails and lattes the bartender made Us were both very delicious. We had a cheese plate too that we also enjoyed. The one thing that significantly bothered me is that breakfast goes until 11 but when we got down at 10 it was a bit picked over. It also was made a while ago so anything that's supposed to be hot (eggs, crepes) are cold. At around 10:20 a sever took the empty egg bowl away and when we asked if they would be making more a few minutes later at 10:30 she said no since the service ends at 11. While I understand they have a small kitchen, we paid just as much as people who showed up at 9 (20 pp) and were only able to have a very limited selection, which was a bit annoying because they never made mention that you should show up early, or else all the food may not be available. We also showed up at 10, so there was a full hour of breakfast left. I ended up just eating a parfait and some crepes with coffee but felt a bit like I was getting ripped off for $20 considering I ate no eggs or meat and the only meat/eggs available at the time were the cold end of scrambled eggs that was only enough for 1 person and what looked like some rolled up turkey or other charcuterie. My suggestion would be make breakfast to order so that people have a consistent experience. This was our last day, so I was a little disappointed that that was the last experience and taste of the place I got. Overall the hotel has a fun vibe of come hang out, mingle with other guests, play games, read etc. It is definitely more of a social hotel, since there are no TVs in the room or in the lobby, which I actually enjoyed. I think it would also be cool if on days they don't serve breakfast if they had protein bars or fruit available to buy quick before you head to the mountain or wherever else you may be going. I'm not sure if they mention on their site that staff/reception isn't 24 hours or round the clock or really available during the week, but if not they should make this more obvious. It was a bit weird to be left alone in the hotel. Finally This is a suggestion for people booking: they have a lot of fun games and that ended Up being the majority of what we did so I would recommend bringing some of your fav games, they had scrabble, chess and a bunch of other classics but if you like anything specific like a deck of cards I'd say bring em with you! I think we would come back, but maybe a little further down the line when things are a bit more settled. They seemed to have a hot tub that wasn't up and running yet, so when that's available I think that would make me feel like the cost was worth it, because right now I felt a bit like the almost 300 dollar price tag on the weekend wasn't 100 percent worth it. I saw mention of free bikes in the summer, which feels like an added plus that would make the price tag seem better and I think they need to find a winter equivalent of that. People love to feel like they're getting something for free (I know I do) and I think having some of this stuff available would really put it over the edge to 4/5 stars for me. read more
