And we just spent two very comfortable nights in their Americana room, which offers some nice views of the mountains.

It's very close to the mountain and a couple blocks from the main street in Windham with restaurants, coffee shops, and more. The rooms were updated and nicely decorate. The front desk employee informed me that they're shutting down for a month in a few weeks to complete more renovations. I can't wait to stay here again! They had a great breakfast, movie room, fire pit, pool, sauna, and more! Highly recommend!

We were hungry and with most of the restaurants closed or closing soon, Jacob offered to make us some chicken tenders. They were absolutely delicious and really hit the spot. You have a variety of choices for breakfast - warm muffins, croissants and chocolate croissants, fruit, oatmeal, cereals, granola and your choice of teas as well as coffee, cappuccino, and macchiatos from a machine I wish I had at home. Starbucks watch out...lol. The warm croissants are made each and every morning by Jacob. Our Mountain View room had a king size bed, which was so comfortable and oversized pillows that felt like clouds. Everything was so luxurious and very clean. Coming back to our room on Valentine's Day, we found a box of chocolates and a Rose left on our bed. What a pleasant surprise! You can tell that Jacob, his family and staff really love what they do. It's this small family feel that you will not find at any hotel chain. Downstairs there's a lounge area with board games, a foosball table and lots of places to sit, eat, read, talk and just relax. There's a separate building with a heated pool and a sauna right outside. We didn't get a chance to use this, but look forward to it the next time. You have access to the Windham Path right from the property as well. Lots of restaurants in town and our favorite breakfast place, Clutch and Throttle is a must go to. And make sure you visit the Gem Mercantile for your clothing needs or gifts to take back home. We are looking forward to another visit to Hotel Vienna in the future.

We opted for a mountain view in the Evergreen building, which was stunning. Our room had a porch with wooden chairs that overlooked the golf course. The entrance also offered a peek of the creek on the other side of the building. Many of the guests were families with kids. The resort charges a fee, which gives you access to their plethora of activities on site including oak barrel saunas, pickle ball, e-bikes, hammocks, a wooden swing, and more. They also offer various classes and guided workshops such as tye dying, book folding, and cocktail making. They had a magic show and live music as well. S'mores kits could be purchased for $15 for two people. Our room was clean, with a modern bathroom. The shower got very, very hot. The thermostat worked well. They have a restaurant on site. The bakery served pastries, hot breakfast, and drinks in the morning. Reservations were recommended for dinner. Overall, it was perfect for a quiet weekend getaway.

The recommendation to come to Albergo Allegria however, lived up to, and exceeded expectations. We experienced interesting, creative and delicious dishes, served with friendliness, warmth and pride. We were not alone, observing every other table, we saw similar reactions to the "Duffle" an omelette that carried flavor and texture that eclipsed any that we have had. Our children enjoyed the "Waff-cakes" a hybrid waffle pancake with whipped cream and preserves. Rounding out our selection was the Savory Lion, scrambled eggs and cheese that was decadent. Combine the food with a welcoming couple who own and operate, along with a staff that is attentive and courteous, and you have a destination that should not be missed. We also took a soup to go, Spiced Carrot Lentil, which proved to be just as delicious and hearty as our breakfast dishes.

There are a thousand charming B&Bs, but they do not have Lesli and Maryanna at the helm. There is a warmth and genuineness that these hosts possess that extends to all their staff. Breakfast is homemade with care and attention and the personalized recipes are delicious beyond measure. The nightly experience around the roaring firepit is especially magical. The grounds are spacious. This place is a gift of grace to anyone lucky enough to stay here.

There was also a few little…read moresurprises that were mostly because we didn't read the website description or dig thoroughly enough, so I will try to make this as helpful as possible! For reference, we stayed in one of the Lushna cabins that are best described as the size of a big teepee tent with one beautiful window wall. First surprise, I don't think were were fully expecting how small it was and that there is basically just a bed and then room for a bag or two. Yes, the bathrooms are detached and you have to go outside to get to them but they are a few feet away, private, and they keep them so incredibly warm that it was actually really nice in there. They are very spacious, have plenty of shelves and the shower is huge and luxurious. My bathroom at home honestly pales in comparison. There are two saunas on property but the one right outside of our cabin was not working, most likely because of how cold it was outside. It was a bummer, especially because we didn't want to trek to the other farther away one. We ate at Dandies, their on site restaurant, our first night and everything was incredible. Their staff was super friendly and lovely to chat with. We went back for the mulled wines more than once and stopped by in the AM for coffees before leaving for the day. It was great to have so close by. Our first morning we tried the breakfast basket and loved that it just appeared at our door. For $30 we got a Stanley thermos of coffee, hard boiled eggs, yogurt parfaits, OJ, and croissants. Nothing too crazy but I loved having a slow start to the day with breakfast in bed. Windham is filled with great places to eat, cute antique shops, a movie theater, bars, and is not far at all from other great towns. This wasn't a ski trip for us, but we never ran out of things to do. Yes, it was expensive and might not have fully felt like it was worth the price with all of the surprises, but we had an amazing time and we also got engaged over this weekend in this teeny tiny little teepee tent so my heart is full of love and 5 stars for everyone.

I picked weekday because it was quiet and not too much of traffic of people. I booked a small log that made me feel like I stayed in a tent in the middle of forest. It was pro and con on this trip. Pro: Very privacy and I feel like I own the whole property :) It was only 3 of us, my puppy, my hubby and me. No other guess in another log nearby. Con: During winter, we weren't allowed to make a bonfire because the law and safety. Super cold outside and bathroom was not in the log. Not so much of restaurant nearby that opened on weekday. The room was cleaned, we got breakfast in bed at the first day and it was enough for a couple. Service was good, warm welcoming, helpful, friendly and super nice. The hotel is dog friendly so I can bring my dog to anywhere in the property. It was nice to be able to camp in the winter, heat in the log was pretty good and adjustable. It will be different vibes if we come in another season.

The communal lodge area is especially welcoming, featuring a cozy fireplace, billiards, board games, and multiple seating options. Amenities include a sauna and a pool, both of which were not in service at the time. The ice rink was available, and we did enjoy the s'mores on the west deck in the evening. Our room was simple but very cozy, with mountain views and a balcony. However, the room did not have a fridge or microwave. I also appreciated that the hotel is dog-friendly and offers a Pupstar package. There is a restaurant and bar on site, but prices were high. Dining options in the area were limited during the off-season weekdays, which made this a bit challenging for us. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the amenities we were able to experience. Carlos at the front desk provided outstanding customer service every interaction and was extremely helpful. My husband and I have stayed here twice in the past five months, and it's easily my absolute favorite spot in the area. The lodge's common area is warm and inviting, centered around a large fireplace.
