I'm about to expose one of my favorite places...it's no secret anymore…read more We found this place by chance and very last minute luck, and it's easily one of our favorite places we've ever stayed at. We were about to head home from a one night, last minute trip from another spot we rented- but then we stumbled upon the Warehouse. The host was incredible (she even left her family to come and bring us the key), the place was so clean and decorated so thoughtfully, and dogs are more than welcome. She also greeted us with a bottle of wine. It's absolutely perfect for the price, location (being right downtown), and comfort. I almost didn't want to write a review to expose this gem on Yelp, but It would be selfish of me not to share my fantastic experience with the world. If you want to get out of the city to relax and see the adorable little town of Saugerties, this is the place to stay.

A koi fish pond to walk through and marvel at before you hit a giant smack of green for your heart to melt into. Find peace. Find yourself. Dig deep into your heart. Meditate. OHM. Ha. Yes. And now, to really dig the digs in simplier terms, the "Bird room" (in which we stayed) was perfect and cozy. Amazing bed and an even more amazing bathroom with a two top jacuzzi bath tub. Bubble hot bath soak two nights in a row before resting our tired city heads for the night. How wonderful. And now for the encore, dun dun dun. THE FOOD. I mean, of course, the FOOD! Gourmet breakfast,David Smythe is a chef/instructor at the Culinary Institute of America and Justine (hospitality queen/wife) is also a graduate of CIA so a powerful couple combined with a dope B&B, it's better than Disney World MAGIC. For breakfast, you get to choose and order the night beforehand on a very thorough breakfast menu. And they prepare your breakfast right when you arrive at your preferrred time to the kitchen. An experience you will not get anywhere else! They have a plate of the freshest sweetest fruits ever waiting for you when you arrive, along with your requested beverage(s)... for us coffee and orange juice. A pitcher of OJ just for you. MMMM. I wonder where they pick the fruits from. Hm. After that, they feed you a croissant (being that I ordered blueberry pancakes), i just stared at my dude begin to stuff himself. And ta da- BLUEBERRY pancakes with BACON. it was so amazing. I'm not fond of big pancakes as it gets dried quick. David Smythe perfected the mini mes with flaky airiness and crispy sides. MMMMM. And perfectly cooked bacon. HEAVENLY. the aroma will also knock you off your feet while you wait. So the next morning, I order it again! This place has been PERFECTION. NOM NOM NOM NOM. I will miss these pancakes til I come back again! Never have I ever! Crossing Clinton St Baking company off my bookmarked list. Forget that! Smythe House B&B is the way to go.

I would suggest the Mary Powell room which comes with a jacuzzi and double shower. The breakfast the first morning was one of the best I have ever had! They offer a 4 course breakfast! Course 1: homemade scone Course 2: fruit bowl Course 3: ciabatta French toast with pear compote and toasted almonds AND bacon Course 4: sorbet The French toast and bacon was seriously out of this world! I wish I had grown extra stomachs to finish it all. The fresh scone was also delicious and was very enjoyable alongside my earl grey tea in Royal Albert China. Unfortunately the main course (Spanish omelette) the next day was only average but I'm guessing that was a spoof. I highly recommend this place for a NYC weekend getaway. It's only a few hours drive, but feels very much like a grand escape. The winter wonderland views from the house are stunning and the town of Saugerties has charming shops and restaurants.

This is an Airbnb that is more like a hostile/bed&breakfast vibe:…read more The first level apartment was charming with very comfy beds. Tim was a friendly host who provided a nice breakfast and great stories. Eating on the patio with other guests while enjoying the birds and river was memorable! The 1847 house is full of wonderful character right down to the creaky floors and steep stairs. But the apartment was very dirty: large dust clumps, pill under table, food bits in and around sink with bugs flying around, very dusty/grimy. Two windows didn't have privacy curtains making our daughters uncomfortable sleeping in the living room. And viewed from those windows was clutter in the adjoining indoor patio and crutches leaning against a fence. The bathroom was tiny, very tiny dirty shower with used loofa's inside, no TP holder and a plate of mostly used bars of soap. The common rooms were very cluttered. That beautiful long table was too cluttered to visit and the living room was cluttered with laundry and drying laundry. But if you go into it knowing that, it is a great experience because of the interactions with the people, location and this charming home. And it was our most comfy bed of the trip!!

There's thrift shop charm, art galore, and comfortable beds with down comforters. You cannot beat the view of the Hudson and Catskill Mountains. It's quiet, safe, and exudes warmth. If you're looking for luxury, this is not your place. Some of it is rough around the edges. If your looking for a beautiful, historic home and a side dish of "quirk" you will enjoy yourself. Tim is a great host. Not sure if he makes the granola that's served for breakfast, but it sure is good. If my daughter picks Bard as her school, we will most certainly be back. Thank you for a lovely stay, Tim.

We paid for our room in full, $500, and were cancelled to accommodate a personal friend of hers. Incredibly unprofessional behavior, and now we are scrambling to pay even more money to attend one of my childhood friend's weddings - last minute.
