The communal lodge area is especially welcoming, featuring a cozy fireplace, billiards, board games, and multiple seating options. Amenities include a sauna and a pool, both of which were not in service at the time. The ice rink was available, and we did enjoy the s'mores on the west deck in the evening. Our room was simple but very cozy, with mountain views and a balcony. However, the room did not have a fridge or microwave. I also appreciated that the hotel is dog-friendly and offers a Pupstar package. There is a restaurant and bar on site, but prices were high. Dining options in the area were limited during the off-season weekdays, which made this a bit challenging for us. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the amenities we were able to experience. Carlos at the front desk provided outstanding customer service every interaction and was extremely helpful. Even though a few things were unavailable, the property itself is lovely, and we would consider returning when all amenities are open and the local area is more lively.

My husband and I have stayed here twice in the past five months, and it's easily my absolute favorite spot in the area. One of the best features: it's located right across the street from Hunter Mountain, making it a perfect option for any skiers hoping for convenient and comfortable lodging. The lodge's common area is warm and inviting, centered around a large fireplace. Whether you're relaxing with a drink from the downstairs bar, enjoying a pool game, or sitting at the bigger tables for some takeout or board games with friends, the atmosphere is always lively and fun. Downstairs, the Prospect restaurant is top-notch. We've enjoyed both breakfast and dinner there, and honestly, everything on the breakfast menu is fantastic. If you want excitement, comfort, and amazing food on your mountain escape, Scribner's Catskill Lodge is the place to be!

They have a concierge for your ski equipment, and a shuttle if needed (it wasn't needed this time, there was plenty of snow on the path to ski to the lifts). We were hoping to enjoy the restaurant and bar (The Van Winkle) but it was unfortunately closed for a private event. We were given a booklet of nearby places to eat, which was helpful. The room had a luxurious feel to it, spa-like. It was clean and well stocked. We had wifi keys which is a nice feature, and the elevators were efficient. Breakfast was included, and it was a "grab and go" assortment of oatmeal, pastries, apples and granola bars, along with hot beverages. I would have liked it if the hot beverages had been available after skiing as well, but there were coffee pots in the room with coffee, teas and actual mugs, along with creamers and sweeteners. We will surely be coming back to this great location!

What is unexpectedly amazing about this hotel is the service. I have never experienced such warmness and understanding from any hotel staff. There was a snow storm on Sunday and my friends actually got into a car accident. Thankfully, nothing terrible happened and everyone was safe, but the whole experience had us shook. That was the day we were supposed to check-out. As you can imagine, we were all worried about driving back in these conditions, especially as the storm kept getting worse, rather than slowing down. The hotel staff offered to extend our stay, free of charge, so that we could wait out the storm. They even provided us with extra linens and towels so we could have a more comfy evening. I cannot say how thankful we all are. Our stay at the Kaatskill Mountain Club was amazing. Aside from the amazing staff, the hotel amenities themselves are pretty cool. We had a fun time at the hot tub and heated pool, and the complimentary breakfast is the perfect pick me up before a long ski day. If you're looking for a cozy weekend getaway, and an amazing hospitality, that's the place for you.

Quaint, clean, welcoming, homey, friendly, and extremely hospitable. Cris the Inn Keeper made us feel at home and even made us breakfast! Location: 15mins from Kaaterskill Falls for Hiking / Catskill Mountains and literally a 10min walk from Hunter Mountain for Fall festivities like Oktoberfest. Also less than 10min drive to the town of Tannersville where you'll find a few restaurants, bars, and shops. There is also a little plaza walking distance that has a bar-Ronnie MacGregor, bagel spot, pizza, etc. We came up from Manhattan so it was about 2hr 15m drive but definitely worth it if you want to get away from the city bustle. There is also ziplining at Hunter Mountain for those interested, essentially lots to do nearby. Accommodation: We had Room #2, it was spacious enough for us 3 girls, clean and quaint. We spent a night here and it was just what we needed. Bed that fit two and Cris set up the pullout sofa bed for us for the 3rd. He made it before we returned from dinner which was really nice. The room has no TV (which is fine since there is one in the downstairs common area) and to be honest you don't want one up here. It's just perfect to wind down/relax - away from all of the usual distractions. Our room faced the back lot but with the colors/fall foliage it was great little view. There is a private bathroom in the room, which was great to have at a small Inn (amenities included body soap, shampoo, and conditioner) included and if you need a hairdryer (just ask Cris). The door closes but not fully shut-an easy fix though. There are also towels (hand / shower ones), extra blankets if needed, there is AC in the room and a dresser. Plenty of outlets too which was great for us and all of our phones/cameras. The bed/sofa bed were a bit stiff / harder than the mattresses we're used to but that was the only critique we really had, not a huge deal breaker for me. We had little mints in the room too which was nice. It seems each room has a different theme or style, I'd recommend you check their direct website for details on the room you book. Sedgwick House Overall: As you drive up you notice it's a cute B&B, well maintained, welcoming, and charming. The sign out front is really cute too! There is a social room that has board games, a TV, books to read, little informational flyers, and is just a nice little area to hang out if you'd like to get out of the room. There is also the breakfast/dining area where you'll find a family style table for breakfast. We ate with 4 other guests of the B&B and it was so nice to actually have a meal with others and socialized (not just eat glued to the TV). It was nice that he made us all breakfast at 9a (he let us pick the time!) which gave us a chance to socialize and meet others that were up for the weekend. You can chose your type of egg, toast, sausage or bacon and there's a variety of yummy jams, orange juice, coffee, tea, etc. There are also a variety of snacks kept out for guests: chips, cookies, water, candies etc. There is also another little room with a fireplace, couch, just hang out area- we didn't spend time in there but took a peek. The decor overall is a more traditional, old school country vibe. There is a really nice front porch with tables and seating and also a little seating area along the side of the house. The girls and I actually took our picnic blanket that we had a laid it outside the front of the house at like 11p to star gaze and it was great, you can see so many stars on a night, clear night, a real treat for city folk. If we would have spent another night I would have loved to just sit on the porch and read- next time! Also very nice views of the mountain from the front of the house. Grounds/grass well managed as well. Also has bathrooms on the lower level towards the back of the house. There is no official Front Desk area, usually Cris will be there so if you arrive and he's not there, he'll most likely leave you his number to call when you arrive as he likes to greet all the guests. There is free Wif too-i we didn't get a chance to ask for the password since we were only there a night and it didn't make a difference but if you think you'll need it be sure to ask when you arrive so you have it. Inn Keeper: Cris is very attentive and wants his guests to be comfortable and feel at home. He was very responsive and puts in a lot of work to make sure the Sedgwick House is kept nice. He runs the Inn with his wife Florentina who I spoke with on the phone to make my reservation and both are very sweet. It's definitely a homey place and one I'd be happy to return to on my next trip. Overall: I'd recommend if your looking for a nice, simple, rustic, country style, charming spot to spend a weekend or few days out of the city. It was also reasonably priced and right

Room had a fridge and microwave tucked away which came in handy since we had wine and dog food that needed to be refrigerated. Balcony overlooking the mountain is nicer than the one which faces the street, so if you can manage, recommend that side. The "Library" area was super cute and nice to hang out by the fire while enjoying some free coffee in the morning or a drink in the evening. I saw some comments about the front desk being empty late night and that was true, but that thankfully didn't affect our stay. Just need to make sure to get things addressed (towel refills, special requests, etc) during desk service hours. Of note, they have a rule that dogs cannot be left alone in the room if you leave (to go to restaurant for example). While I understand their reasoning for this rule, knowing it in advance would have been helpful, especially since they don't allow dogs in the restaurant. Thankfully Scribner's is just across the street allows dogs in their hangout area and in their restaurant. Dear Mountain Inn (a 10-min drive) also allows dogs in their restaurant, and has great food and a very cozy vibe--highly recommend the burger.
