View of the cabins at night! So beautiful
    Carly D.

Cold Spring Lodge is cozy, affordable, and clean. We took our infant and dog up for the weekend and we had such a nice time. You cannot beat this price for the space/fireplace/pet-friendly/full kitchen/wifi/Netflix! It was such a great spot and we will definitely be visiting again soon.

The lodge gives a rustic appearance when driving up, once you acclimate to the surrounding your greeted by a stunning view of the mountain scape. This is where your dreams for relaxation ends... The windows in the cabin have no deterrent for bugs so if you have kids and want to air out the room you are greeted by spiders, flies, increased exsposure to the elements. The kitchen- stove takes 45 minutes to warm up, and the burners are un even. The cookware and housewares were mixed with no cups, dull knife. The stove has signs of a previous fire and wasn't clean. So when you are counting your every minute of relaxation Most of it is spent waiting for the appliances to work. The fridge is rusty but that's cosmetic. The pool is not ready for anyone to use, the bar is not ready for anyone to use. Most of the ammenities is not factual to the website and even the signage when you drive by. The wall plugs has exposed sockets and remnants of a previous fire in the plugs. The fireplace is broken, so attempting to use it is not feasible. The patio table has exposed nails on the surface, so again if you have little ones, beware. You get 2 towels per room, and depending how long you stay, that's it, there's no fresh towels or facilities to clean your clothing. The toilet is 4 inches from the wall, not sure if that's ADA compliant, you have to sit side saddle to use the toilet, and that's coming from a smaller person. The bed in one of the rooms has holes and stains, the bed had a giant orange x marking a stain. The fire pit was nice, the hot water was hot, the tv was working. The WIFI... they offer wifi but IT DOES NOT WORK and the weather was clear. For a 3 bedroom cabin there was not enough outdoor seating and the ones present were broken. Drive a mile down the road and you can see other places with working amenities and friendly staff, spend just a little more, and your vacation will be worth it. We weren't expecting the ritz but this was close to camping outside with a higher price point attached. This was one of the renovated cabins, fyi. They make sure to charge you for the firewood, that's the only thing this place will keep account for. Enjoy your stay, we had fun outside the facility and visiting other areas.

No curtain, filthy window with cobwebs and dead bugs, huge 1 inch gap between panes open to freezing cold air!

Beware, froze our butts off, left after one night, heater doesn't work, freezing wind comes through cracks in walls, around and under door and all windows, dirty disgusting windows haven't been cleaned in years with huge open gaps that let all the cold air in. No heat, thin summer quilts and cheap thin summer curtains on windows! Chairs that will break if you sit in them, loveseat so wornout you have to stack the 2 seat cushions on top of each other to sit at a normal level. No heat at all in office or gameroom and no food or firewood! Don't fall for all this fraudulent advertising!!! We booked to stay 2 nights over Xmas 2022 and barely could make it through one night. It was the worst stay we have ever had anywhere and manager Sara Batka refused to give us a refund or tell us who owners were to contact! We got deathly sick and fumigated from carbon monoxide from the broken fireplace and faulty heater! Save your money unless you like freezing to deathPlease share to save anyone else from this terrible cabin!

Well how to begin. Our deck was rotted, our fire extinguisher expired, a gas leak in the kitchen, pubes on the toilet, in the shower, dust and dead bugs all over. A earwig on the toilet seat. I assume they don't own a vacuum and possibly don't feel obligated to launder sheets between guests, as hair and debris were in the bed. Cabin 1 was not clean. But the icing on the cake. A massive bed bug infestation in the hotel. Room D. My friends left and went elsewhere and guess what: the owners relisted the bed bug infested room a day later. Shag carpet and bed bugs. Good luck not taking some home. This place could be awesome, but needs a lot of care. Oh yeah the Bears love this place. They climb on the roof for apples. I like bears but not in a dilapidated nightmare cabin. I would also say investing in dehumidifier could help. As mildew and mold were pervasive in the cabins. Oh and the kitchen drawer falls out. And our three bedroom cabin had only one key. Here's advice: go to the hardware store. Make a few copies.

There were four of us in the car coming for dinner, and I believe we exclaimed collectively: wow. First impression did not disappoint. It was a freezing evening and we hurried inside. Another 'wow'. The check in area for the hotel is like an office space in any Mid-Century Modern fanatic's home - or, they wish it was. Just terrific. We were seated by the large windows overlooking the grounds. I could not get enough of the clean, purposely unfinished blonde wood, big windows, yet the amazing cozy feeling you got inside from the couches and other decor. Not only can you come for a dinner but plant your butt for the day with a book or computer and just start with a tea, work your way to coffee, and at noon just go for the cocktails. Nothing wrong with that. Like I said, there were four of us and it seemed we ordered one of each items on the menu - a total of 9 dishes. Everything came superbly finished and seasoned - no objections or comments from anyone other than praise. We split 2 desserts, and we had 6 drinks to the table. The maple squash was particularly finger-licking-delicious, as was the beet salad. At the end of our meal we had the pleasure to meet one of the co-owners of the establishment, Bjorn. Super nice guy who told us the story of the beginnings and how the place came about. We left full, happy, and couldn't stop talking about the resort all the way home. The bill, with tip, came out to be $400. I will definitely come back and I can't wait what else will be added to the Dandelion menu.

It's the kind of place you want to linger in. Unfortunately, the dining room didn't quite live up to the setting. We ordered six dishes and genuinely wanted to give every benefit of the doubt, but the food felt underwhelming overall. Nearly every dish was heavily over-seasoned, with salt dominating the flavors. The pasta was overcooked and even saltier than the anchovy itself. The salad was overdressed and salty, the branzino followed the same theme, and the charred sunchokes were crusted with salt to the point of distraction . It left us wondering whether these dishes were pre-shift photo shoot plates or simply not tasting as they should in a live service setting. The creativity and intention seem to be there, but the execution missed the mark on balance. With a lighter hand and more restraint in seasoning, the food could easily match the incredible atmosphere. We'd happily return for the experience--and hope the kitchen fine-tunes the flavors to let the ingredients truly shine .

We were best friends since we were 10 years old, went to high school and college together and finally after 20 years I opened my eyes to see that the love of my life had always been right in front of me - he said he knew it all along! We knew from the start that we wanted a weekend getaway and for it to be rustic. We began our search with Full Moon Resort and when we pulled into the drive for a visit we knew we found the place! Meeting Henry, one of the owners, really put the icing on the cake because of how helpful, insightful, and accommodating he was. He gave us a full tour of the facility including the grounds, the reception tent, the barn, the performance space and even the lodging. There are so many amazing things about this venue but I will list my TOP FIVE: #1. Exclusive use of the property! This allows you to customize your wedding and have all of your guests stay on site! #2. Multiple locations! There are multiple locations to entertain your guests over the course of the weekend, even in the winter! My husband is a musician so we took full advantage of the performance space and had a Friday night concert with him, his band and the other talented musicians in our circle of friends and family. #3. The food! Crazy, right? Some people will choose wedding venues based on their caterers however that was not even on our minds when we booked Full Moon Resort. We wanted the remote location, the rustic feel, the ability to have all of our guests stay on site so it felt like our own home in the woods and boy were we surprised when the food was outstanding! Probably the best MacNCheese and collard greens we've ever had. Ever. #4. The service! From the moment we met Henry, as mentioned above, we knew we were in good hands. Once we were introduced to our very own event planner Leigh Ann we knew we were in even better hands! Leigh Ann worked with me on every detail of the weekend - from our Friday night dinner and the music that would be played to every step of the ceremony on Saturday and the details (snacks, marshmallows, candy, etc) for the after parties! She was amazing and everything went off with out a hitch. #5. Free Honeymoon! We took advantage of the winter prices at Full Moon Resort and got married in March. We also took advantage of the free Honeymoon in St. John which was the most amazing, most beautiful place we ever went. We highly recommend staying in this remote cottage, it's exactly like the reviews say it is. The most important thing about getting married at FMR is to set your guests' expectations from the start. This place is rustic and your guests should know it. I've read reviews about the lodging and yes, they are close quarters - especially the shared bathroom spaces but if your guests are there to celebrate you, as long as they have a clean place to sleep and bathe who really cares? And if you care that much then you probably shouldn't have your wedding here. The lodging that's "down the road" from the main area is NOT that far away. That's actually where my husband and I stayed and it was 30 degrees and snowing! We made it work and it was just fine. I can't recommend this place enough - 5 stars doesn't represent how wonderful it is and our friends and family are still saying it's the BEST WEDDING THEY'VE EVER BEEN TO!

There is a large communal yard with a fire pit, volleyball net, hammocks and seating as well as several new Weber grills and picnic tables. First the good: the property is gorgeous. Nestled on the side of the eponymous hill in the village of Pine Hill, NY. It features several cabins and two vintage airstream trailers, a central green space with a fire pit, a communal lodge and an outdoor hot tub. It's a five minute drive to Belleayre Mountain and a five minute walk down the hill to the downtown area of Pine Hill with a few restaurants. True rustic Catskills coziness. My girlfriend and I stayed for two nights during a weekend in February when everything was buried under a foot of snow. A gentleman named Matty found us as soon as we drove in and was incredibly friendly, but that was the last of any employees we saw during the weekend. To the bad: I would not recommend cabin 8. It's a single room with bathroom and shower (no bathtub) at 175 total square feet. My girlfriend and I are not big people and don't mind a small room, but maybe just not for a weekend of skiing/snowboarding as we discovered. With so much equipment and barely any space to put it all save for one bench and a few wall hooks, it's just not ideal. The water pressure in the shower was depressing, especially after a full day on the slopes. At one point in my shower it slowed to a dismal trickle, presumably affected by the sinks/showers in the rooms next door. Cabin 8 has neighbors on nearly all sides. We shared an entrance with those in cabin 7 and could hear them clomping in and out in the evenings/mornings, and could hear them easily through the walls even though they were talking at a reasonable volume. We were bummed that the hot tub was closed all weekend as that had been one of the big draws for us in the first place - the possibility of relaxing after skiing all day. The temperature dropped to -15°F in the night so we understand why it was closed. A fire was set up on Friday night, but the fire pit was too big and the fire too small to make sitting in the chairs comfortable. We had to stand in the fire pit itself two inches from the fire to stay warm. Eventually we got tired of standing and went back to our room. The lodge is definitely nice with its pool and foosball tables. The website mentions an air hockey table, but this was not in the lodge when we visited. A sign on the lodge advertised croissants, bagels and coffee for sale on Sunday between 8 and 11, but when we stopped in at 10:30 the whole place was empty with the lights off. We never did get to see the gift shop as it was closed all weekend. So... not terrible. But at $398 for the two nights, I just don't feel like we got our money's worth. The hotel itself is cozy, full of charming little spaces, and we truly felt pampered throughout our stay. The vibe is very relaxed, peaceful, and the perfect place to disconnect from the world. Now for the real star of the show: the food. We did the tasting menu and it was so good. I loved the intention behind each dish and how they highlighted seasonal ingredients and the local farm sources. My personal favorites were the mushroom dish and the venison--both were phenomenal. The staff was warm, attentive, and did a great job walking us through each course. A few small observations: The dining room was a little too dark--I love seeing my food, especially when it's so beautifully presented. Since it was my birthday, I expected a bit more than a lone candle. No cookie, treat, or even a candle placed on top of dessert--it just didn't feel special. Dessert wasn't for me. It was somewhere between a milkshake and ice cream, but with a strange mochi-like texture and an overpowering amount of lavender. It felt like eating soap. The quail course tasted amazing, but the presentation wasn't appealing. It looked a bit messy, and leaving the head on (even though it wasn't edible) felt off. That said, everything was incredible--thoughtfully crafted, delicious, and visually stunning. I thoroughly enjoyed every bite and the whole experience. Highly recommend--can't wait to return!

Drove up two hours with family (sister in law had a massage booked) only to have her call minutes before arriving to tell her that the masseuse called in sick and wasn't coming in. We still went anyway because we were right down the road and, upon arriving, were greeted by a very defensive and unaccommodating owner, who we found out happens to be Elizabeth. I get it, people get sick, that isn't even the issue here although it's probably a good idea to have some sort of policy set up with your employees that doesn't allow them to cancel minutes before an appointment. Or, here's a thought, why not have more than one masseuse on staff? But who knows, for all we know, this might've even been a lie because she was giving my wife and sister-in-law such a hard time from the get-go, at the beginning of the reservation process and even when my wife went to buy the gift card. She was rude, didn't even apologize and instead, completely absolved herself from any responsibility for the matter. Just said there was nothing she could do and didn't even offer any kind of complimentary discount after we traveled so far to come to her spa. I've worked in customer service for many years and you always try to work with a customer, no matter the case. The only option she begrudgingly offered up was to text another "potential" employee who could "maybe" come in, but couldn't make any guarantees nor was she happy about having to potentially stay longer to wait around for an answer. If your reason for visiting Copperhood is to "get away from it all" and to detoxify for a week, you can be rest assured that by the end of the week you'll be filled right back up with another kind of toxicity from the owner. Book and stay at your own risk.

I want to be fair here because this is a unique place that maybe we didn't appreciate at the time…read more We didn't do a spa package, we rented the "condo" attached to the resort. Not a big deal, but it still cost $400 a night. There is no bar here, no lobby "scene", and honestly the service isn't great. For $400 a night we got a DVD player, when we asked at 9pm for a DVD, they said they were closed. The next night, we rented DVDs early, but the DVD player wasn't connected, and when we asked, they said they would take care of it "tomorrow". Finally, on our last and third night they fixed it. This honestly is some sort of lifestyle adjustment, fat farm or whatever resort. That's not a pejorative, it just is. You pay a lot of money, and you take nature walks, eat raw foods, and go to bed early. Again, not a bad thing per se, but quite a lot for the money. we didn't do the spa/resort package, we just rented the condo. Every time we had an issue, the proprietor would say "you are not part of the resort, you rented the condo". As if it's a distinction with a difference. Really annoying service, but they are committed to what they want to be, which would explain why there were only 4 cars in the lot during Memorial Day weekend. Beautiful place. Phoenicia is cool. Woodstock is cool. But if you book here, don't ever think you're booking at a normal hotel. It's not. It's a beautiful place with beautiful scenery, but the service is next to zero, and it's basically a rehab facility. If you're looking for a fun time in the Catskills, this ain't it. If you're looking to nature walk and eat raw food and drink vegetable juice, it's all yours for ~$500 a night. The llamas are cool too
