Reception closes at 9pm but they have a system in place to accommodate guests that arrive after hours. Room and linens are clean. Lighting is cozy. Bed is comfortable. Balcony is nice. View isn't much but it's peaceful. Housekeeping is efficient when you make a request. Our TV wasn't connecting to WiFi at first but the lady suggested we unplug it and it worked after the reset. Wish they had hot continental breakfast but their pastries are nice. Good variety of teas. Main breakfast area has limited seating but there's a lounge downstairs with three more small tables. Love that their food area is open for the day so guests have access to the microwave and coffee/tea/hot water. There are movie nights every Friday in the lounge and board games. There is an indoor pool not far from the main building and fire pit areas outside. The surrounding grounds are pretty and the staff are friendly.

My sister & I had plans to go camping at nearby North South Lake Campground but nonstop rain made us go to "Plan B", that was to come here & we were so glad that we did. We found the Hotel Vienna to be perfect for our needs except for one, hard-to-ignore issue. We loved the contemporary, European feel to the hotel: it's large-windowed front, balconies, perfect, Zen-like decorative touches, wood beamed ceilings, the multiple outdoor fire pits & multiple porches to hang out on under large umbrellas, its downstairs lounge that offers free movies & yoga sessions, charging stations for EVs, the very welcoming & helpful Holly @ the front desk (she went to the downstairs storage area to find me a Keurig with decaf coffee pods when I saw that there is no decaf coffee available @ breakfast), its wonderful indoor pool & perfect-sized sauna, its proximity to the 2 mile Windham Path, & last, but not least, the biggest croissants you'll ever be offered at breakfast, and an owner who is everywhere, fixing, tweaking, helping, cleaning, you name it. It was everything we two sisters needed to get out of the rain except for the one issue we encountered: we were in room 210, which is situated directly above the office/staff room & staff members, according to hotel policy, smoke on the balcony outside that staff room & the smell of their cigarettes wafted up to our balcony over & over again, as well as seeping in to our room. We would have sat out on our balcony more, enjoying the view, but the odor of cigarettes made that too difficult. Do not let this sway you from coming here, it is a great place & I would happily come here again but DO request not to be in room 210, if cigarettes bother you as it does us.

Just spent 3 nights at the Hotel Vienna! Such a cute, clean and friendly experience!.. the staff were GREAT! So friendly and accommodating.. we stayed in a double queen bed room that was modernized with great A/C unit.. our balcony off the room had beautiful views.. we saw a chipmunk and hummingbird ... perfect location in Windham but also a short drive to East Durham.. the pool/jacuzzi area was so nice! Peaceful, clean and nice plants at night we roasted marshmallows at the fire pit.. under the stars... we enjoyed conversation with a few guests around the fire pit .. we will definitely return.. it was the most peace we have had in a long time between work & pandemic life.. thank you!!! It was perfect for us

A truly lovely property. Staff was very friendly with helpful suggestions about dining. The pool cabin is gorgeous. There were lots of little thoughtful amenities like a hamper for used towels if you need to change them out. I believe the rooms were recently renovated, and our king room was spacious with a minimalist feel, with an incredibly comfortable bed and pillows and a very clean feel. Went there to celebrate our first anniversary and will certainly be back again!

The recommendation to come to Albergo Allegria however, lived up to, and exceeded expectations. We experienced interesting, creative and delicious dishes, served with friendliness, warmth and pride. We were not alone, observing every other table, we saw similar reactions to the "Duffle" an omelette that carried flavor and texture that eclipsed any that we have had. Our children enjoyed the "Waff-cakes" a hybrid waffle pancake with whipped cream and preserves. Rounding out our selection was the Savory Lion, scrambled eggs and cheese that was decadent. Combine the food with a welcoming couple who own and operate, along with a staff that is attentive and courteous, and you have a destination that should not be missed. We also took a soup to go, Spiced Carrot Lentil, which proved to be just as delicious and hearty as our breakfast dishes.

Breakfast is homemade with care and attention and the personalized recipes are delicious beyond measure. The nightly experience around the roaring firepit is especially magical. The grounds are spacious. This place is a gift of grace to anyone lucky enough to stay here.

We opted for a mountain view in the Evergreen building, which was stunning. Our room had a porch with wooden chairs that overlooked the golf course. The resort charges a fee, which gives you access to their plethora of activities on site including oak barrel saunas, pickle ball, e-bikes, hammocks, a wooden swing, and more. They also offer various classes and guided workshops such as tye dying, book folding, and cocktail making. They had a magic show and live music as well. S'mores kits could be purchased for $15 for two people. Our room was clean, with a modern bathroom. The shower got very, very hot. The thermostat worked well. They have a restaurant on site. There is so much good to mention from our stay at East Wind in Windham. There was also a few little…read moresurprises that were mostly because we didn't read the website description or dig thoroughly enough, so I will try to make this as helpful as possible! For reference, we stayed in one of the Lushna cabins that are best described as the size of a big teepee tent with one beautiful window wall. First surprise, I don't think were were fully expecting how small it was and that there is basically just a bed and then room for a bag or two. Yes, the bathrooms are detached and you have to go outside to get to them but they are a few feet away, private, and they keep them so incredibly warm that it was actually really nice in there. They are very spacious, have plenty of shelves and the shower is huge and luxurious. My bathroom at home honestly pales in comparison. There are two saunas on property but the one right outside of our cabin was not working, most likely because of how cold it was outside. It was a bummer, especially because we didn't want to trek to the other farther away one. We ate at Dandies, their on site restaurant, our first night and everything was incredible. Their staff was super friendly and lovely to chat with. We went back for the mulled wines more than once and stopped by in the AM for coffees before leaving for the day. It was great to have so close by. Our first morning we tried the breakfast basket and loved that it just appeared at our door. For $30 we got a Stanley thermos of coffee, hard boiled eggs, yogurt parfaits, OJ, and croissants. Nothing too crazy but I loved having a slow start to the day with breakfast in bed. Windham is filled with great places to eat, cute antique shops, a movie theater, bars, and is not far at all from other great towns. This wasn't a ski trip for us, but we never ran out of things to do. Yes, it was expensive and might not have fully felt like it was worth the price with all of the surprises, but we had an amazing time and we also got engaged over this weekend in this teeny tiny little teepee tent so my heart is full of love and 5 stars for everyone.

One of the amazing hotel employees recommended the curry ketchup and it was AMAZING. we took the bikes out, hiked, laid on the hammocks, etc. we don't want to leave. one thing i will add is that the acoustics are intense in the room. the room directly above us was having... a lot of fun in their bed for a lot of our trip... and it was so comically loud. shout out to them tho. they were feeling the romantic vibes too i guess. all in all very much recommend. i wish the door had a chain lock but other than that it was a perfect experience.

They blamed it on Covid, but it became clear that they just can no longer get it together. Unfortunately, the owner is quite ill, and admittedly on "very heavy drugs," which she asked us to forgive her for while she took a half hour to find our reservation and room. She is also very cranky. I received a 10 minute condescending lecture on how to lock the door and was told repeatedly that "bad boys" break in and wander the halls. There was a helper in the parking lot who was not very helpful. He accused me over and over again of hitting another guest's car, which I did not, as I was the only one in the lot for 2 days. Clearly the other guest hit me when she arrived. I felt harassed. Let's just say they care nothing for customer service. It was very expensive for no breakfast. I can totally see that it had it's day, and many good reviews from the beginning of the year, but must have been a rapid decline. Time to sell.

My husband and I stayed here in February for a weekend getaway to Windham Mountain. When we arrived I was informed that the deal I was promised over the phone, which included free lift tickets to the mountain, was not applicable because it was Presidents "Week." Was I told this over the phone while booking? No. So I was already upset before we even went up to our room. And the price was not adjusted even though we now had to shell out money for lift tickets! The room was large with a separate living room area. I was actually impressed. Until I noticed the thump thump thump of someones loud music. I assumed it was our neighbors and it would eventually stop. So we left our room to get some food and drinks. We came back at night to discover that the music had not stopped and our room was in fact located over the kitchen of the attached restaurant. It was like 12am or 1am and the staff was cleaning up and blasting music right below our room. My husband was nice enough to go down to the front desk and ask for another room. The staff was not very accommodating, they acted like they couldn't move us, although they finally did thanks to my husband's persistence. The whole process took 30 minutes, which is ridiculous. Our new room was luckily much quieter - and MUCH smaller. So small that the door basically opened up into the wardrobe that held the TV. Was the price adjusted? No. We originally chose this place because of the promised shuttle to and from the mountain. It turns out that parking at the mountain is easy and free, so we never utilized the shuttle. I tried to the last day, when I didn't feel like skiing and I thought I could meet my husband at the mountain after he was done, but the shuttle apparently only goes FROM the mountain in the afternoon. Like dropping me off when you're going there to pick people up would be so difficult?? This place is rundown and poorly run. The staff is not friendly.
