I truly loved this place. We did not have a television in our room and I really appreciated this. The window was easy to open and there were two lovely fans in the room. Joe went up to check our room twice when I could not find my cellphone in the car (my aunt eventually found it). He also checked on us while we were getting ready to attend a wedding because - unbeknownst to us - the venue was a half hour away. The only downsides of my experience there were the very steep set of stairs and the fact that the floor felt like it was floating when you walked (the floorboards were apparently in good shape, though). read more

I ate here last Sunday with a friend. Being in the restaurant business I like to order multiple things and sample them. The meatballs were great. The pretzel is amazing with two dipping sauces. Also has the Mac abs cheese which is fantastic. The chicken is excellent. Crispy with a great taste. Came with creamed kale which is different age does not disappoint. Also had the ribs. A lot of sauce which I liked and had a kick to them. I will be back. You should go too. read more

More like 3.5 stars. 4 for the restaurant, 3 for the hotel. Hotel first: Do keep in mind, the pictures you find online are nothing like what you'll get when you check in. There was literally a bed and some walking space and I swear the bathroom was once a closet. The shower had a frame...forget a door..a frame. A frame where I smashed my elbow while I attempted to get toilet paper...a little tmi, but it was needed. My friends got a room with single beds and ended up with a huge room and 3 beds. It's questionable if this place is really kept clean, but I stayed for one night, it served its purpose, but this will definitely be my last resort if I'm in the area. The restaurant faired much better. Apparently people who don't even stay at the hotel, come out of their way to eat here, so I definitely had high hopes. The hostess wasn't too happy but our waitress was super nice. We had the early bird special as I don't think anything else on the menu is worth the price. I had the chicken which was pretty good and the mashed potatoes were delicious! I was happy with my food and for the price, I couldn't complain. In the end, the restaurant and the hotel served its purpose. I wasn't looking for a 5 star stay, but I was looking for something a little better than what I got. read more

The is more like a 3.5, but the extra .5 is because the owner and staff were so nice. My bf and I stayed here overnight during a spontaneous weekend staycation back in August. We found this place because it was in the same direction of the cavern we were heading and we didn't want to stay at the creepy hotel near it (see Holiday Motel review). But I'm really glad we did because it turned out to be quite charming and quaint. We met the owner when we checked in and she was very sweet and helpful. I believe she said she was originally from NJ and did something completely different, but she just decided to pick up and move up there and open her own lodge...that made me like her even more for some reason. The place is so cozy and there are only a few rooms, so it felt very intimate. Our room didn't look much like the ones on the website, as it was carpeted and seemed much smaller than pictured. But it was comfortable and clean, and that's all we really cared about. There was an old school tube TV in the room which worked, but was a little fuzzy at times. We barely got cell reception up there and I think there was only WiFi in the lobby, but the service was really poor. It actually turned out to be a good thing because we just disconnected ourselves from technology and relaxed. However the highlight was definitely the restaurant, which is right in the back of the inn. The inn was relatively quiet and we literally only saw 3-4 other people ever come out of the rooms, but the restaurant/bar was actually bustling with locals from the area. Everything was homemade, down to the salad dressing, butter and bread, and I think that's what made it so good. The staff was so friendly that it definitely left an impression. The next morning there was a continental breakfast laid out in the lobby. But it was mainly hard bagels and rolls that I could tell were not fresh or homemade, but that's typical of any hotel continental breakfast. If they could make that fresh, it was be so much more amazing but I would still certainly return here regardless. read more

Such a cute and cozy place. We stayed here on our first trip to the Catskills, and will surely choose it again for future trips. We went for the hiking and the Pine Hill Arms Hotel is just a short drive to many different unforgettable trails. We visited in Sept. 2020, and they offered a very easy contactless check in and check out process. It was very lovely with a super warm welcoming vibe, and was an amazing respite from life in the city. We also love stargazing, and they had a wonderful backyard/fire pit setup that was perfect for it. We will be back. read more

We had a great meal at the Pine Hill Arms. We heard that the the new family that had purchased it was originally from the Czech Republic and we were not disappointed. Many good beers and a great Goulash (-braised beef over noodles). On a cold ski day, it really hit the spot! We also had an order of Spicy Knoddel to start that was pork and scallion dumplings (think "Eastern European dumplings" not "Asian dumplings") served with seared-crispy pork belly and spicy kraut. Fantastic. The trout was locally sourced and very delicious, served moist but with a delicious, crispy skin. We took an order of fried chicken home to our son and even though he had eaten while we were out, he had to have some of the fried chicken b/c it was so good. Soon they will have a coffee shop with espressos and breakfast munchies. We can't wait to go back. read more

Not only do I love this hotel because it is literally 5 minutes away from Bellayre Mountain, but if you're looking to stay in a rustic hotel, this is the place to stay. They do have free breakfast Saturday and Sunday mornings. The rooms are a bit old, but that's what you get when you're going to be staying in a small town! Everyone is very nice here and don't bother you at all! This is my second year coming and staying at Pine Hill Arms, and I love it. read more

We stayed at the Pine Hill Arms for a wedding nearby. My whole family was there along with several of my sons friends. We had a blast. Joe, the proprietor was incredibly nice, helpful, and welcoming. The rooms are small but we had everything we needed. MY son and I had lunch on the back deck and the burger and fries were great and the beer selection also a big plus. The town has a lot of character and the local pub up the street - the Colonial - was memorable to say the least. We were there in August but I can only imagine what the winter season is like. We stayed here in June while on a motorcycle trip. What a wonderful funky old place! Certainly not the Hilton but that's not what we were looking for. The room was clean and comfortable. The bar was friendly and well stocked and the food was delicious! And the coffee shop in the morning was wonderful. But what really made our stay special were the people. It is family owned and family run and they were the nicest, friendliest people we've come across in many years of traveling. They obviously love what they do and are justifiably proud of their place. I had dinner there this week end. The decoration of the restaurant was lovely, very Halloween and cosy. We came here for a light dinner on the advice of the tenant of our B&B. Overall ok experience. I was not that hungry so felt like taking an appetizer and a dessert. The coconut battered shrimp appetizer sounded good. As one of my friends was tempted by the same thing, we figured that we could take it as a entrees for both of us (7$ for appetizer and 19$ for the entrees - NB the price on the website are wrong). we figured it would be bigger. We got overall 5 shrimps, not an even number, kinda weird as we said we will share it. It was served with plain steamed carrots and broccoli and mashed potatoe. When the bill came we realize they charged us $8 for sharing !!!! It came to $27 overall for 5 shrimps !!! Sooo overpriced ! Of course we were not warned about that. we complained but the waitress said that it was the house policy. Though the shrimps were good with the orange marmelade. Our other orders were good, a little pricey compared to the size but overall good. read more

We stayed here for a night to attend a wedding in the area. It's one of the few hotels that allow you to book a single night, which was perfect for us. It's bare bones but comfortable and suited our purposes. My favorite parts were the Street Fighter 2 arcade game in the lobby, which we played after arriving back late night from the wedding, and the coffee shop called Maeve's Place. The coffee and sweets were perfect, and I purchased granola and a picnic backpack to take home with me. Best granola I have EVER eaten. Really nice staff and we had a very nice stay. Sooo many problems with this hotel. First they do not turn the heat on until 3pm, even in the middle of winter. Their rooms are much smaller than their website lets on. Their radiators in the rooms started making weird noises and then spurting hot water. They say they have complimentary breakfast but "suggest" that you leave a 9.95 tip per adult and 7.95 per child. The breakfast is not amazing enough for that big of tip, you get one option to eat and coffee. The bathrooms were so small that the sink and garbage can were outside of it in the bedroom. We had a death in our family and had to leave one day earlier, they refused the night refund. I will NEVER stay in this place again!!! read more

Bed was comfortable, no TVs, but there is a coffee shop attached to the hotel where you can get food. They have a cute front porch with rockers and it is walking distance from other restaurants. Exactly what I expected not the best rooms but if you want that stay somewhere else I've been coming here for years it's a short drive to all area ski resorts there are a few restaurants in town including one attached to hotel the staff is super amazing and friendly a little pricey for the quality but hey you have to figure they only have seasonal business I will be coming back again thank you Valerie for the amazing free breakfast you offer your waitresses are very nice and did an amazing job and your bartender is very friendly (large selection of different adult beverages) I recommend this place if you enjoy the Catskills as much as I do and are not looking for anything to fancy read more

New owners have updated the rooms and the service was fantastic as we were hosting an event (a mud run at belleayre mountain) and had to leave at 6am, they made sure we had coffee and breakfast before we left! A truly amazing experience. We traveled to Pine Hill to escape the hustle of Manhattan and found so many places trying to replicate what exists in Manhattan! This restaurant was suggested by the gas station attendant and next time we drive here I will stop and let them know what a wonderful experience it was for us. The atmosphere was cozy, country and quaint. We actually strolled around the restaurant and bar to look at all the pictures of the hotel owners with all the famous singers who have visited this place. The staff was attentive, friendly and fun! They told us all about the local community and suggested various activities for us to do. The food was to die for and everything was homemade and presented elegantly. I would highly recommend this place and we will most certainly be back. read more

We had dinner here tonight, the server was very attentive & friendly. The meals were not that good & over priced. There was 3 of us. I ordered the Pork Schnitzel it was fried to a crispy dark unchewable brown. The salad came with it was ok.I did suffer through it. My companion ordered the fish which was also fried. OK ,but when he asked for a roll it would be a $4.00 charge. I'm ok for paying extra but a $4.00 roll? The other person ordered the goulash, no complaints there. Over all I would not recommend dinner here, if you want snacks fine. Order the chicken wings & hang out at the bar. The crowd sounded like they were having a great time. read more

The Inn is under new ownership and went for dinner on Saturday night. The servers are friendly and the food was delicious. The meatballs were a little small but had good flavor and the sauce is homemade. They only offer a handful of entrees but we enjoyed the food. It's definitely worth a try. read more

This hotel is awesome stayed here for 2 days during my vacation to go skiing at Belleayre mountain. The hotel has a very home vibe the rooms aren't big but that adds to the quality of the experience. Located right next to Beleyare mountain this is the perfect location to stay if you are going on a ski trip. The room I had was perfect for 3 people it contained 1 king size bed and two queen sizes very unique for a hotel stay.. actually worked out better than sharing two king size beds. The hotel contains a bar and restaurant.. the bar has a great menu involving both large name brand beers microbrews and also locally brewed beers.. The dinner at the restaurant was awesome.. I had the rib dinner it was delicious.. if your looking for a spot that's not overplayed simple to the point and comfortable for your Belleayre ski trip stay here read more

Valerie, the owner, is very helpful, graciously sharing local knowledge with us. Breakfast is great, and is free. The internet, on the other hand is sketchy at best and only available in the public areas. The public areas are super, with fires going. The bar has draft beer. The hot tub, we found out just before going in, costs $12. A big surprise and a little embarrassing not knowing about it sooner. There is plenty of heat in the rooms. Overall a good experience. Could have been great if the internet (wifi) worked and a little more transparency on the hot tub pricing. read more

So we got our selves into a little predicament last night and wound up getting stranded at a local ski resort. We wound up at the Pine Hill Arms and from the moment we got there things started getting better. The staff was very friendly and extremely helpful. We were looking for a way to get back home to long island when our car had broken down earlier in the day and staff there helped us figure out a plan to get there. Besides all that the food was amazing and they have a great bar. The bartender was super nice and very hospitable. The place had a really nice feel to it and I would highly recommend anyone paling by are going skiing to check this place out. I look forward to staying there in the near future. read more

booked 2 night for 3 people end of April. When we arrived it was raining. There was no personnel just a note with my name on it and 1 room key. So no help for my elderly mothers luggage. The stairs were sketchy. The room was clean and looked update until you go onto the bathroom. It was really outdated and so small you can't turn around it. If you look up the ceiling tiles where gross. Any updating was purely esthetic. One of the reason we stayed there is because it has a coffee shop. Not when we were there no coffee shop no restaurant and the ice machine had a sign saying ice is only for employees. So we got coffee in the morning from the gas station. So cozy. The day we checked out " I use that term loosely". There is no final bill just another note telling me to leave the key. Fast forward 6 months and a charge shows up on my cc. When I called I spoke to a rude woman who was no help. I called back and spoke to one of the owners. He said the bill was an outstanding balance. 6 months after the stay! I am more than happy to pay for something I bought but 6 months later With no notice is outrageous. I like to support Mom and Pop shops which I believe this is, however they were providing a service and they didn't do a good job. Would not go back or recommend. read more

BEST $100 DEPOSIT EVER LOST!!!!! My 2 girlfriends and I decided to talk a girls trip to the Catskills for some snow tubing. Upon looking up different hotels we stumbled upon this place based on affordability and the attractiveness of the website.....BOY WERE WE WRONG!!! Where do I begin? First of all when we approached this ghost town my one friend who had been sleeping in the back woke up and asked "is this a joke" sadly this was real life. Then as we entered the unshoveled driveway my friends car bottomed out as we almost got stuck. At the end of the driveway we weren't sure which was worse, the hotel we were about to enter, the garage at an adjacent house that said children welcome or the house next door with tin foil windows and a barking dog. Still optimistic we entered the hotel. The lobby was pitch black and there was no one to be found. We waited by the desk for about 15 minutes and still not one soul entered. At this point in time, our back seat driver began to panic as scenes from The Shining were flashing through our heads. Needless to say we bolted and ended up in a nice hotel and were more than happy to forgo the deposit. Still can't understand how this place is able to be called a hotel and how they have the audacity to charge almost the same price as a nice hotel 40 minutes closer to the mountain. read more

Recently stayed here for a weekend ski trip and we loved it. The rooms are cozy, clean and comfortable. The downstairs bar area is really nice, and on Saturday they had live music until 10:30. We had dinner at the restaurant one night, and everything was amazing and reasonably priced. Also, it comes with a free breakfast and is a 2 min drive from the mountain! This place is a great deal if you are a skier and looking for a deal on lift tickets if you stay here. It is not fancy but serves its purpose.
